Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
Hi all,
I used to be on here all the time a few years ago but after a 3 year 'break' from fertility treatments, DH and I have our first appointment in relation to starting ICSI on Friday... To say i'm nervous is an understatement!
Hope to see some familiar faces around and meet lots of new ones too! :)

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
Hi girls,
Just an update on me, had a hycosy which showed blocked left tube, and ovary adhered to the pelvic wall and endometriosis is back, so having a laparoscopy to get fixed up 4th Feb. Hoping we will be able to tr the fertility meds for a couple of cycles and then it will be IVF. If so we will be changing to a different clinic as they bulk bill, so all we will pay is for meds - which actually will mean its cheaper than monitored ovulation induction cycles! crazy! Primary IVF look them up if you are interested!
-
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
Hi Razzberry!
I have my fingers crossed for you! I looked up Primary IVF and it looks really affordable. I have heard that they have a BMI limit for the patients they accept though, would you know if this is true?
-
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
jo- white. I had IVF/ ICSI and it took a while for me to get the BFP but now I have a 4 yr old. proof that it can happen. good luck.
I had a break from posting on here as we never thought this would happen, but we just had a FET and 2 put in .....
now the waiting.
thats the worst.
hi to everyone else.

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
Good luck to you all :) I hope this year has some very positive results for you all :)
It's looking like DP and I may end up taking the road to adoption rather than IVF but we're not sure what we're going to do just yet.
Hopefully this year is good for all x

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
TWW is driving me insane. today would be 8 days after conception and only 5 days after transfer.
how can time go so slowly :/
lol
ha ha

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
I know it's very quiet around here but thought I would drop in and update, we did a FET last month but only 5 days after transfer AF showed up [emoji35]. So now I'm CD 5, going to take a break this month and enjoy a little get away over Easter. Next cycle we have another FET planned, haven't had a follow up with my FS yet but I don't think he will change anything, it all seemed to go perfectly but didn't take. Makes me sad because it was a perfect AA Blast but no such luck this time round for us. We only have two embryos left and have already decided that if none of take we will be giving up, I am extremely lucky to have had success with IVF and would love a sibling for DD but my last IVF cycle was so hard on me I just can't go through it again.
TubbyPuff what a hard decision to make. I hope your finding some clarity in making your decision.

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
Big hugs mrsmac. I hope you got a bit of a break.
I feel like I need to be back in here too. Sigh.
DD1 is now 21 months and is so amazing. I got my cycle back when she was 2 months old (so much for breastfeeding preventing it! Lol). Anyway.... Since then.....nothing. Nada. No pregnancy whatsoever..... So essentially I have been TTC since she was born and have now been 19 months without anything happening. Way longer than trying for the first one.
i know it's not this simple, but sometimes, I really wonder what's wrong with me. I'm so thankful for my daughter.... But.... I really wanted more babies too :(
anyway..... So I'm back. I have two embryos left, Id like to do another PGD cycle after that if these ones don't work..... But I suspect we wouldn't be able to afford it :(
im not as desperate to have the baby like I was before DD. But each month still stings.

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
Hi myturn, i know exactly how you feel, we tried again till DD was about 2 before coming to the conclusion it's never going to just happen, she's now almost 3 and we are still not pregnant. I use to feel completely blessed that we finally got what we wanted so badly and if I couldn't have another I would be ok with that, but now I so desperately want another and it feels just as devastating as last time I was going through all this.
We seen our FS this week and it's the same old story, everything looked perfect last cycle it just didn't take so pretty much everything the same this cycle except we are going to try using embryo glue. From what I have read there are mixed results as to if the stuff is helpful but I guess anything that can improve our chances is worth a shot. Now just waiting for AF any day now to start our new cycle.
The money things a killer for us too, I think if we do decided to do another cycle after these frosties we will try a bulk billing clinic, but I need to take a break before deciding anything. 12 months of fertility treatments feels like your entire life is on pause, everything revolves around cycles and just makes life not as fun if you know what I mean.
So fingers crossed for both of us that one of these little frosties is all we need.

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
Big hugs mrs Mac. I hope they are too.
Got oat to think about the work thing too...maternity leave won't last as long this time because I'm working reduced hours. Last time I ended up with 18 months paid leave as I took long service leave and maternity leave at half pay. It's been great. But I've been complacent too!
I reslly hope hope thsi next one is yours!

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
So AF arrived and we are ready to start our next cycle. I'm excited but also very scared, if this one doesn't take we are running out of options [emoji20]
-
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
Good luck mrs Mac!!!! Thinking of you xxooxx
AFM - think we missed the window last week. Sigh.

Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
I'm off for an US tomorrow, I have only been for one BT (on Monday) and already they want to do an US. It's so odd because I don't usually get the US done until they are ready for me to trigger and it seems too early for that. I really hope nothing's going wrong. Also going to be using pregnyl injections after ovulation and we have never done that before so it makes me a little nervous and totally sucks because I can't test before my Blood test [emoji12]
Good things come to those who wait myturn, so hopefully the delay is for good reason.
-
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
All went well today, I was ready to trigger so transfer is Monday. Feeling really good this cycle, no stressed or like something is amiss, so hopefully this is the one.
-
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
Mrs Mac good luck tomorrow with transfer, hope all goes well and this is the one :crossfingers:
-
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
Thank you 1 more please. I'm very excited this time round. Hopefully this ones our take home bubba.

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
So transfer was cancelled [emoji22] they found fluid in my uterus before the transfer so we decided to cancel and not waste our frosty. Had an ultrasound and found fluid in one of my tubes so booked for a Laparoscopy on Friday to investigate and remove the tube. I felt so excited this time but feeling like it's one bad thing after another. We found fluid there after my IVF cycle and cancelled the transfer to give it a chance to clear up (which it did so we were able to do a FET last cycle but got a BFN). My cycle before that was a miscarriage so just feeling like he world is agains us at the moment [emoji22]

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
Anyone had success after a Lap and how was the recovery from it? I hate not knowing what to expect.
-
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
So spoke to the FS about my Lap, he found large cysts on both ovary's that had attached to my tubes, they couldn't cut them out without taking my ovary's too, so they were just drained and my tubes were clipped to stop any new liquid leaking into my uterus. Otherwise everything else looked perfect. Seems so odd that i order to get pregnant I have to take away the use of my tubes. Bloody infertility suck big time [emoji45]. Now let's just hope one of my two frosties will be enough.
-
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
Mrs Mac How are you feeling after your Lap? When are you doing your next FET?
-
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
Finally feeling a little normal again, Thanks for checking in 1 more please. We are going to do our FET with my next period, so still about 3 or 4 weeks away. Hoping like crazy this is the one, we have had one bad thing after another so I just feel like it has to be time for luck to be on our side. At least I hope so.
-
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
Fingers crossed Mrs Mac that your next FET is the one :crossfingers::goodluck::pray:
I've decided to do another cycle and start stim tomorrow, I done one in February which didn't work so I have now changed FS so this will definitely be our last cycle
-
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
Well I hope this is the one, do you feel like the new FS has changed enough to make it work? Good luck and keep me updated.
We mostly decided that we wouldn't be doing another stim and that decision was made partly because of the cost involved (and that we have already tapped out our savings) and also because i had the most horrible recovery last time (nothing at all like my first time) so I just don't think I can do it again but then we started to talk recently about looking into a bulk billing clinic and I start to think could I do it again? It's seriously the hardest decision ever to decide that my family is finished [emoji45]
-
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
Mrs Mac Yes this FS is doing quite a few things differently so I'm really hoping with the changes this will bring us the BFP that we want. But in saying that this is our last try and I can go out happy I have definitely tried
everything I can.
I have heard good things about the bulk bulling clinics, I hate when I start to think could I do it again cause that means that I will give it another go LOL. Its really hard to get to that decision that its time to stop, i'm a lot older than you and have only just accepted that if this doesn't work it will be ok. With the bulk bulling clinics which will make it cheaper for ivf It might be worth giving it a go, its just so hard to say that's enough if your still young but then mentally and physically its just so bloody hard trying and it not working. I have everything crossed twice that your next FET will bring you the baby you want.

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
Thanks my turn. So off on Friday to see the FS, will see the full outcome of my surgery, they took samples of tissue from my uterus and sent off for testing so we will see that those results are, hopefully not bad because I'm feeling like the world is against me at the moment and it's never good news. Really starting to feel like our little family of 3 is all we were meant to have [emoji22]
-
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
Mrs Mac hope the test results today were not bad news and everything is ok :)
-
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception 2015 # 4
Good Luck to you. Hope you will succeed in your treatment.
Regards
