Kitkat, that's a really tough one. This is your first cycle right? If it doesn't work out, hopefully the next one will be better - often the first is a bust as they try to get things right.
I don't really know, as I haven't been in your situation, but just off the top of my head I'd be inclined to transfer both if they make it to day 3. The whole freeze and thaw things seems a bit iffy (and expensive) just for one embryo.
At my clinic, for fresh cycles, women aged 40+ (I know you're not there yet!) seem to have much better success with day-3 embryos anyway, so I think that's something else to consider as you get to the other end of the 30s.
Hope your little embryos do the right thing :goodluck:

HPT and IVF?????
Hi guys,
Can I ask some advice please? I had my EPU on Wed 14th Apr, Took the trigger shot at 2am Tues morning (that was fun!!) My ET was on Fri 16th and my BT is due this fri morning.
However- being me- I just couldn't stand the wait and did a HPT this afternoon about 4pm. Everything I have read says that if you leave it until 14-15 days after trigger shot you don't have to worry about false positives. My test was a BFP but I am almost too scared to believe it. Should I still be worried about false positives??? I'm going to do another one tomorrow to see any changes in the line. What do you all think?
-
Sounds very positive, Glenny. I've heard different things about how long it takes Pregnyl to leave your system and not give a false positive - anything from three days to a week, which is what my FS told me. So if it's been two weeks and you've got a BFP it is sounding very, very promising.:dance::dance:
-
glenny_c woow it does sound very promising. It should have gone by now been well over a week. If the line was not extremely faint then I would say its even more promising. I don't think I could have waited as long as you have :D thats pretty good to get to 2days before the BT. Can you bring it forward by a day? Just for confirmation?
-
Just wanted to thank you all for the replies this afternoon. I appreciate the accumulated wisdom of this board and I found all of your comments very helpful! BTW, Marcellus, that is very interesting about the 40+ crowd having better results on day 3 transfers. I wonder why that is? And I wonder if that also applies to 38-year-olds like me? I'll keep telling myself that it does!
Glenny C - your situation sounds very positive. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!
Trueblue -- just wanted to let you know that I am praying that the increased synarel works for you and that your cycle is not cancelled.
Take care, everyone.

Hi everyone,
Hope you don't mind me joining, seems you have been traveling the up & down journey together for a while. DH & I have just started a natural FET cycle with our only frozen emby. Have first BT next Wed then will start the at home urine testing for LH surge.
Anyone else undergoing FET or had experience with it??
Not sure how i am feeling about it all, other than very nervous, I'm particularly nervous about the thaw as the FC can't find it's pre-freeze grading, but we also know that there's nothing i can do about it.
Anyway, that's me in a nutshell...hope you don't mind me joining for the cycle at least. I think i'd send DH crazy if i sat around speculating all the possibilities with him 24/7.

Wow... lots going on atm.
Leabie - congrats on your blast and five snowbubs - FX
KitKat - I think the 2 x Day 3 transfer sounds like the way to go... FX
Glenny - all sounds very exciting for you... FX
Big hi to everyone else and hope you are all well.
AFM - still awaiting final BT - however did HPT today and got a negative. My chances look very slim.... :shakehead:
AF due tomorrow.
-
thanks
Thank you to everyone for your positive comments. Thank you too for helping me when I was feeling down last week. I can't believe I only found this forum now!
I did another HPT this morning and the second line appeared after 20 secs and is as strong as the first one. I'm going in to ask them to do my BT today instead of tomorrow as there is no way I can wait now!
I know it's early days and I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high but this is the closest DH and I have come!
Thank you all again for being there. This forum is a godsend and I wish I had found it earlier in our TTC journey!
-
glenny_c I'll wait until its official
bbbbuuuuuuuuttttttttttt
 :leap: :leap: :loveshower: :hooray: :hooray:

gday girls I got my new form for the bt on monday and this time they are checking E2 levels AND HCG levels why would they be checking hcg levels? does anyone know?
-
Oh my God!!!!
My BETA level is 144!
-
CONGRATULATIONS Glenny. I am so happy for you  :leap::happyforyou::happyforyou::happyforyou: such good numbers also
trueblue not sure why they would do HCG now. You have been on the pill right? Well up the last little bit to get you started? Mmmm not sure if thats a regular thing or not or your special ;).
-
Glenny - Congratulations, that is fantastic news! Wow this forum is going crazy with all these BFP's!
KitKat - Go the 3day transfer! I have only heard of 3 day and 5 day transfers in the US but not in OZ. Your chances should be exactly the same regardless (they are either viable or not)
kimbe - Welcome - I sadly am onto my 4th FET for the year, they are much easier than IVF of course (and cheaper) so hopefully yours will be easier and also give you a nice BFP too! I am medicated as I don't O on my own.
trueblue - Not sure what day you are in your cycle but when I am on a medicated FET (which is the same meds as for an IUI for me) I get E2 levels of about 3000 to 4000? I have only had to cancel when I wasn't on meds and didn't O on my own (levels of about 500) I will have FX that you don't have to cancel, but remember, they only cancel when it's not going to give you the best chance of getting pregnant in a healthy way.
Mildez - I am lucky as my clinic only closes on Christmas Day and I am also a bit mortified when I hear about these clinics which make you run to their schedule! I hope you are able to start soon and that it all goes well for you :)
Tantee, Marcellus, Mummawannabe, chekigal, all the BFP ladies and anyone I have missed - Hi!
AFM - No news, had first BT this morning to see how I am responding to Femara so will find out later today. Not really interested in this process and trying not to change this approach as I know how hard the 2WW is!
-
OH WOW Glenny - Congratulations :leap: All the best for a H&H pregnancy and hope many others can join you soon.
True ~ That's quite bizarre that they want HCG, are they suspecting you could possibly be pg. Everything crossed if thats the case hun. You've been on the pill so it you would have had to have conceived prior to that if so I guess.:o Weird. FX that your cycle wont be cancelled hun. Thinking of you xoxo
Hi all and hi to newbies.
GL and :pink-babydust::stickyvibesboy:
AFM ~ Did another HPT and another BFN! Although AF still hasnt arrived :wall: I just wanna know where Im at, extremely frustrating and its all making me a bit :(
-
Ah Loops, sorry you're still waiting
Congrats Glenny!
Interesting true... maybe they want to rule out the possibility...?
chekigal, I think it's still a bit early yet. :goodluck:
Kitkat, I've no idea why it might be that way. For 35-39 year olds it appears to be roughly the same odds for day3 vs day5.
Fingers crossed for everyone

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to come in & introduce myself, I'm Jess, I've been ttc for 15 months doing DI, but I'm about to start IVF (in early May). I've been in another thread but decided it was about time to join this one :)
Hope everyone's doing well & congrats to the people who have had recent bfp's!
