Hi Everyone
Thankyou for all the warm welcomes! Sorry I havent been on in a while however I did try and post something a couple days ago and lost it! It was late so I went to bed after that.
Kaydee - I agree about the pill popping and sniffing, it was so boring! Good luck with the injections. Today was my 4th one so we are close together in our first IVF cycle. Good luck!
Bell - good luck with your U/S tomorrow and hope your frosty makes it for your transfer!
Aleenta - congratulations on the transfer. Hope your little embies stick and you get a BFP this cycle. Dont get too crazy in your 2WW :)
Possums - welcome back from your trip and its OK to feel emotional. The fact that your are sick is probably making you feel worse! Try and stay positive and hope your embie makes the thaw! :goodluck:
Hoping - Welcome and good luck with your tests. The unknown is always hard!
Smithy - Hope AF finally arrives so you can get started on your 3rd cycle! All this waiting is crazy!
AFM still taking gonal-f. Havent noticed anything strange, so not sure if that is good or bad. Have my app with the FS on Friday for an U/S, so hopefully I'll get some answers then. I am nervous, I pray that I have a good number of follicles, and we can start planning the EPU. It is the ONLY thing on my mind at the moment, and cant wait for Friday to come so I can finally get my answers.
To anyone I have missed, good luck with your current cycles and wish you all the best of luck!

hi girls,
Wow so much has passed... some new faces...welcome... some familiar faces... Welcome back Bel and Possum...
Aleenta, JBM and Bee.... congrats on the transfer...hope to join you guys soon...
AFM, I had the hardest 1 1/2 week... I was so stress out which virtually completely wiped my mind of any thoughts of IVF, O and charting.....unfortunately the problems are not going away... some good I have done in the past had come back to bite me in the butt... Anyway, I am hoping that I would O soon so the whole excitement of it will take my mind off my current dilemmas.... I am so scared that I won't ovulate this month (which is very unusual... but why has it not come? Funny thing though, my bb are progressive getting more sore.. just like a stimulated cycle when I was on the injection... however no sign of CM yet...so confusing!
-
Wow so many of you now it's hard to keep up! I'm slowly getting the hang of this... thanks to everyone for their kind replies!
Had a very emotional 24hrs, but obviously nothing compared to you guys! One of my step sons has now pulled out of our wedding party as he cannot deal with us wanting to have a family. He's made it very clear from Day 1 that he will never approve of me. It's a real kick in the guts to us both and we are totally devastated.
But on the positive... made our 1st appointment with the FS! :dance:16th Oct is the big day and am keeping focused on that! Anyone dealt with Dr Hedges in Newcastle? Heard good things about him so fingers crossed!:crossfingers:

Hello to all you lovely ladies.
I'm a bit short of time, so can't respond to everyone, but there is some exciting stuff waiting around the corner for all of us, I can just feel it. This is a lucky thread :goodluck2:
AFM. I started snorting the Synarel last night. So far so good, don't seem to have any side effects so far. Did anyone have any nasties from this stuff?
So just waiting for AF now, and then we are on track.;)

Hi Girls,
Bel you are such a sweetie, thanks for your good wishes and I sincerely hope your scan went well and praying your frostie makes it through
Smithy - thanks also and I really hope your AF makes an appearance asap. Also great post on the step children - you are so right everyone has to live their own life and unfortunately sometimes people have different interpretations of what that should be
Bride OC I hope time passes fast until your appointment and your wedding dramas disappear
Neptune - glad to hear your making progress I was fine on the synarel no issues at all so hopefully will be the same for you
Lucky strike - good luck with the cycle, if this helps, when my FS got my dose right this time I felt just fine on gonal f no side effects to report and I got 8 good eggs with 2 transferred and hopefully 4 good frosties. Hope it is good to you too.
Kahlan - I hope your luck changes, sounds like you are having a bad run, hugs to you and looking forward to you joining us in TWW.
Hugs to all
-
Hi also Marsha, we must have been typing at same time - sticky vibes right back at you!
Good luck with TWW, I there with you!
-
Hi everyone. Thanks for the welcome.
Hoping, my first acupuncture session focussed on lifestyle and diet. The lady I saw explained how closely linked the digestive system and fertility is... she said if your digestive system is out of balance it can affect ability to conceive. She's organised some simple changes to the type of foods I eat and at what time of the day to eat those types of foods - starting slowly! She then did a session of needles and I felt really relaxed after it so I imagine when it comes to relieving anxiety and stress it really helps too.
Smithy, great to catch up with you in this thread! Where is AF??? It's always the way, when you want her to show up.... and when you don't... :wall:
Luckystrike, we are really close in this cycle! Hope your appt tomorrow goes well. What dose of gonal-f are you on?
Kahlan, hope your week becomes a little more relaxing. The weekend is in sight! Take care.
Neptune, the only noticable side affects I had from Synarel was the headaches and tiredness. I guess everyone is different though. I was warned side affects could mimic those of someone going through menopause - hot flushes, moods, etc... GL with the sniffing.
Best wishes for you Neptune, the 16th Oct will come around soon enough. Seems like you've got enough on your plate, organising a wedding! (and coping with all the family issues that come with it) Hope it all works out.
:2ww: to all those who are passing the time on the tww. Lets hope we see lots of positive news soon.

Well girls - how are you all? I haven't been around much this past week - had the lovely gastro that's been going around. My AF has finally turned up - so we can start IVF#2. I know I should be going 'yay', but to tell you the truth I am really scared.
I asked my doctor what would happen if we had a low response to the higher dose (highest dose there is) and she basically said nothing. So, this is it. Last cycle we only had one or two follicles - if it doesn't work this time I just don't know what I'm going to do.
My work have been really painful too. I had time off when our cycle was cancelled (2 days) and from that they wrote me a letter about how I have to speak directly to them if I want time off. Well, with gastro I was in that much pain on Tuesday that the doctor gave me an injection to get rid of the pain and I pretty much zonked out. My DH rang my manager that night and left a message and the next day my General Manager rang and said I had to call and speak with her directly. Huh! I was asleep dammit! My DH rang her and she said if I was really that sick I would be in hospital. I really don't need this 'you know what' from them. Bunch of unfeeling uncaring......
Sorry about this rant. I'm just a bit scared and over having to worry about pathetic things like work and their stupid little control games. I'm very close to quitting my job - but of course we need the money to be able to afford IVF!!
-
Kate B - I'm sorry to hear about your work situation, that sounds awful! How stupid are these managers - it's well known that if you give your employers flexibility, TRUST and appropriate time off, they will come back at you with productivity and a willingness to get the job done. Hope it improves for you.
KayDee - I am back to the acupuncturist next Friday and looking forward to it. Above all, I find it relaxing, and it it does other things too GREAT!
Aleenta - Good luck in the 2WW!!!!
Bride OC - Sounds like a nightmare with your step kids. Just give it time I guess, and it will all settle down.
Marsha - good luck with the 2WW.
Kahlan - sounds like everything is happening with you you poor chick. Maybe it's a full moon or something, but things will settle down. When I get really stressed about many things (a bit too frequently), I try to separate the things in my mind that I can do something about, work out a plan of action to address those things - then the things I have no control over, I kind of push from my mind. It may help.
Luckystrike - hang in there on those drugs - may be a good thing that you don't feel anything different?
Hey to everyone else, must dash to work now.
-
Morning Ladies
Neptune - Only thing I noticed when taking syneral was that my head felt very congested and had a mild headache. This was after a few weeks of takig it though. Initially I didnt feel anything.
KateB - Sorry to hear about your work situation. I havent told them abotu IVF at work, so I am just trying to work around things for now. We have flexible working conditions at my work, so I guess that makes it much easier also. As for this cycle. I wish you the best of luck! I really hope that you get lots of follies this time! The IVF experience is very frustrating...
Kaydee - Yes we are very close this cycle. I was on 225 for 5 days but this morning doc told me to increase to 450!
Kahlan - sounds like you are a little stressed now, sometimes that effects ovulation, so just "try" and let yourself relax a little. I know that is usually easier said then done though :)
AFM Had my U/S this morning. There were 4 follies and my FS said that is not good enough, we need more. So he increased my gonal-f from 225 to 450. I have to take that for 5 days and have another U/S with him on Wednesday. I asked when Egg collection would be and he said late next week/early week after.
Has anyone had this happen to them before? FS seems to think more will grow with the higer dosage. I feel a little down this morning, after my visit. Reason why we are doing IVF is b/c of DH's sperm, perhaps there is also an issue with myself that I am not aware of? Sorry for the winge, I just feel let down this morning, maybe I am expecting too much! Anyway time will tell, and we'll see what happens on Wednesday.
-
LS, it can be disappointing when there aren't as many follies present as you were hoping. Sounds like you dr is giving you a chance to get some more follies going this month though. The opportunity to produce follies and eggs can vary from month to month even if you are a fertile woman with no problems. While they try to get as many as they can within safe bounds, it does also come down to quality as well.
One of our members also with male IF issues, didn't get too many eggs on her first cycle but fell pg straight away with one of the two embies they got. She is now in her 2nd tri!
The other reason your FS will have increased your stim to 450 is to help get you producing more estrogen to support the eggs you are growing. I have had this happen several times to help kick start things along.
Welcome all the newbies and wishing you all BFPs
xx

AFM Af has finally gone, am on 175 of puregon and 50 of pregnyl so heres hoping, get some follicles growing, got a bt on monday to check my progress, hope to get some good news.
till next time Good luck and lots of BABY DUST sent to everyone.:)
-
Dusty thankyou for that. You made feel better. I guess it is what it is, and all I can hope is that the increased dosage will help things along.
WishingBaby - I guess the FS was expecting more also. He didnt seem worried though, he said this was a common thing, so maybe I am just worried over nothing.
Wishing you the best of luck with your follies, and BT next week!
-
Hey girls,
Lucky - my FS told me that he was aiming for between 6 - 12 eggs. I ended up with 6 eggs at EPU of which 4 were mature, fertilised, grown to day 5 - 1 transferred back and 3 frozen. He said it was a good result and that sometimes the quality of the eggs can be compromised if there are a lot of eggs. (I don't know if he was just saying that to make me feel better - I was expecting to get a lot more eggs).
But, in saying that it was also my first ever stim cycle and he did tell me that they can't always get the dose perfect first time.
I was on 150 of Puregon for 8 days when he bumped the does up to 200 for a further 6 days. I know it's not as big a jump as yours, but I still was worried that they would stop the cycle due to lack of stimulation or something.
My oestrogen levels were not fantastic and that was the main reason for increasing the dose rather than the size or number (I think). Once I got the increased dose my oestrogen levels quadrupled in 4 days.
I don?t think it?s anything to worry about. I reckon if you are still concerned talk to one of the nurses and ask them if they think it?s normal?
To everyone else ? I hope you are all going well at whatever stage you are currently at. I?m keeping to myself a bit at the moment. Nearing the end of my TWW and starting to get the inevitable jitters. Anyway, it?s out of my hands now.
Take Care.
