apologies upfront for no personals but a bit busy at the moment, the reason I popped in is for all of you who like me are frustrated waiting for AF. You may recall I had acupuncture on Thurs night as I was really frustrated as I just felt no symptoms or like I was never going to get it again after having to cancel last cycle for overstim. So I had my acupuncture, drank some disgusting herbs and guess what yesterday AF just rocked up!! Just like that........now it could be a coincidence but I am just relieved so I can start my gonal f tomorrow. Just thought it may be useful...

Aleenta - thanks for that! Will definitely think about giving it a go (even the horrible tea... :doh:) ANYTHING that will bring AF....
Hi Bel - I'm okay, just waiting waiting for AF...I can't believe how slow time seems to be going....I thought about doing a list of 'things I wished I'd been told about IVF' but it might end up being longer than the Encyclopeadia Britannica!! :lol:

AFM - BT and U/S this morning. E @ 8 or 9 (I think)
1 Fol x 17mm, 1 x 15mm and then a heap between 8 and 14. I'm pretty sure they should have grown quite a bit more than that by now. I've done 8 days @ 150 of Puregon and 4 days @ 200 of Puregon. This is starting to get frustrating now. I was so psych'd this mornig thinking for sure they would have been ready by now. Waiting to hear back about the blood work.
Does anyone know whatthe deal is as to how long they will let the cycle continue until it is deemed that you are not responding well enough to the drugs?
Also, does anyone know if the Dr's ever do EPU on fols that are under 18mm? Based on the oestrogen or something?

I have a really stupid question. Starting my first IVF cycle - just waiting for day 18 to roll around to start the Synarel - my question is, do DH and I continue to DTD as normal, or should be we trying to avoid pregnancy during this ovualtion period? I know there's slim chance of it happening naturally, but I guess what I'm asking is does the Synarel affect a foetus? :rolleyes:
good luk girls i dont really have any answers for you but NIXON.. i think they will let you go a bit longer and let the other follies catch up a bit ??not sure hunny they let us go to epu and we only had one egg we were devistated:doh:so sometimes its best to no your own levels and work things out yourself if that ever happend to us again i think we would just cancelle our complete cycle but its your cycle and i hope all works out for the best remembering it only takes one hun so best of luk to you:hug:
NEPTUNE DTD..i think were still aloud to dtd while on synerel just not about 4 days prior to epu so enjoy lol I THINK WHEN WE START THR SYNEREL WERE GETTING READY FOR AF WE GOT PG ON OUR FIRST CYCLE BY OURSELVES BUT THAT WAS ON THE PILL best of luk to you hunnny i would do a hpt before starting synerel

I'm just SO OVER WAITING.....I hate going for BT or U/S and then having to wait until 2 - 4pm when they call and then it's probably only going to mean MORE waiting.
I will bet that when they call this arvo I will be told to come for another BT and U/s on Friday - any money.....
When I started this i created a spreadsheet - kind of like a project plan - ie: dates when the appointments were, when i would get AF and start Lucrin etc. I called it "The next 5 weeks" - HAHAHAHA what a joke that was - 8 weeks later and still no idea when or if the EPU is even going to happen.
Sorry - being a negative nellie again. I wish they would just PHONE. :(

Good luck everyone else, I've been reading but not posting much because I'm at the boring part of my cycle. Trying acupuncture for the first time friday, fingers crossed that it works.
I'm back - hey girls - i'm feeling really selfish I haven't even asked anyone how they are going today. Feel free to tell me to dry my eyes and toughen the F up next time :p
Oscar - I had my first acupuncture last Saturday - I don't know why but I'm carrying a LOT of tension in the middle of my back (not normal for me - it's usually neck and shoulders) and after the session I had a fabulous night sleep with no nightmares and the tension is back in the same spot now, but I blame the "so close and yet so far away" feeling I am having this week. I'm off for another session this Saturday - I can't wait. The lady was awesome - she picked up on a couple of issues without me saying anything and she advised me to get rid of my belly button ring. Apparently it is on the conception line and the exnergy is being disrupted because of it. Anyway - relax and ejoy - mine did some massage as well. Gorgeous.
I just got the call. Another BT & US Thursday - I was close. Good news is that the nurse said that my Dr told her that we should almost be there by then. My oestrogen was up to 2196 - which they were very happy with. :clap:
For the girls with the babies on board (bel & baby dream time) I hope you are having a lovely day - I have a really good feeling about you two and this month being the month for you both......
I have to get back to work - I will be back later this evening to sprinkle some dust and vibes around the place.

Nixon: I think the follicle sizes are a bit hard to judge by the u/s. At my first u/s I only had 8 follicles growing to a good size and heaps of little ones, so my puregon was increased to let the other folicles grow some more and try and catch up to the bigger ones. At my second u/s had lots of follicles but as there wasn't a lot of room left in my ovaries they still seemed small and squashed together. However come the day of EPU, they retrieved 30 mature eggs. So even though the follicle appeared small in the u/s (due to lack of space) they still contained mature eggs. Fingers crossed this is the case for you.
Neptune: During my IVF cycle my FS advised that when DTD to use protection in case when you trigger you ovulate early. However to get the best swimmers you should DTD 2 days before the EPU. As this is normally before you trigger you shouldn't have O'd as this is scheduled to coincide with the EPU. If you have any doubt thought do a HPT, better to be sure.
Hi everyone. Hope things are going to plan for you all.
I had my EPU today - we got 20 eggs which I was really, really relieved about. I've been worrying because I've had no pain whatsoever with the gonal-f injections, and my last IVF stim cycle was excruciating. So of course I've been imaging that nothing much was happening in my ovaries :rolleyes: I'm so glad I was wrong.
My FS will ring tomorrow to let me know how many fertilised, then we'll have 2 embies transferred on Friday :crossfingers:

Oscaroscar - enjoy your acupuncture session. I've had good results with acupuncture too - it really relaxes me. I've even fallen asleep with needles poking out of me before!
Neptune - I think you should be fine to DTD while you're taking Synarel - we did, although I never thought to ask about it. I think the effect synarel has on your hormones woould mean that you'd be very unlikely to conceive naturally while taking it anyway. So enjoy some 'free' DTD that has no strings attached to it lol.
Marsha - how are you going? How did your urine test go?
kateB - sending you *AF vibes*. I once had a 108 day cycle, so I can appreciate the frustration you're going through. So much waiting!
Aleenta - great to hear that AF showed up for you. Acupuncture rocks!
JBM - hope this FET cycle is your lucky one :pray:
Bee83 - I hate the nasal sprays too. It's so hard to not sneeze after sniffing something like that. And I hate how 10 minutes later it drips down the back of my throat and tastes disgusting.

HI Nixon - with us they waited until day 18 of our cycle. We were pretty disappointed, particularly as we later found out my follicles hadn't increased at all since about day 5 (I think it was day 5....). But it sounds like things are more promising for you now? I really hope so!!! :pray::
AFM - naughty AF is still not here. What I find wierd is that my periods were so regular before and now this one is late. My clinic isn't being much help either - I called them to ask if this was usual and they (of course) replied 'everyone is different, you just need to wait' grrrrr.....
Does anyone else know - when you had a cancelled cycle were you told to have the trigger injection to bring on ovulation? The clinic nurse mentioned something about this today, but we were never told to do it but just wait til our next cycle.

Kate I had the same thing, cancelled cycle, not told to trigger and then AF was over 2 weeks late. I think your poor body just needs time for the levels to re establish themselves. I hope AF arrives for you soon so you can move on in the process. I understand your frustration :wall::

Smithy - thanks for your kind words. I feel quite out of control at the moment and I?m certainly going to come up with some sort of game plan to keep my brain occupied a bit better if this is not my only cycle of stims.
Neptune - My husband and I have been told to avoid unprotected ?grown-up cuddles? while follicle stimulation is occurring. Just in case the brain triggers the release before we get told to do the trigger injection. But that was the only thing our Dr said.
Oscar - Are you getting excited? This is your first cycle right? Meeting the FS tomorrow and Acupuncture all in the same day!!
KellyD - thanks for that story. It has helped me chill out a bit. I guess looking at the u/s while you are there it is a bit weird. I suppose they can really see everything when it is starting to get squashy in there. Oh well, hopefully not too much longer.

I reckon Dusty is right though, your body is getting super hyped up on hormones that I would imagine it takes it a bit longer than normal to wake up and say ?ah, Lucrin (or whatever) not blocking me from doing my job any more? and then AF will be there quick as.

Nothing new from me today. Just waiting for tomorrow morning. I?m in a conference all day tomorrow and Friday. It?s going to be a nightmare cause I?ll have to wait for the Dr?s to call and then let it go to voice mail and then I?ll have to wait until after the conference to get the results. Might be having fake toilet breaks every 5 mins?..(groan, sigh)
Just a quickie update from me, but we've got 9 fertilised embies :D The clinic did ICSI on 13 of my 20 eggs, and 9 fertilised. I'm stoked!
