Hi everyone,
My name is Sabrina. DH and I have been TTC for the past 2 and a bit years. Our doctor wanted to refer us to a fertility specialist after our first 12 months because DH has a lowered sperm count. Still 10 million but he is about 50% mobility. DH blew a gasket about going to a specialist yet so we have just been temping and POAS and putting up with irregular cycles for the last 12 months since we found out. Anyways I though we had it last month when I started feeling nausea about 10DPO but unfortunately AF showed yesterday so CD2 today and now we play the waiting game. So I ordered some OPK off Ebay so I am all read for this new month however I will be away in Sydney without DH around our O time :wall: but will see what happens!
We are considering IVF next year but I don't know much about it. So any information would be soooo helpful :)

Welcome Sab, everyone in here is a wealth of knowledge and support, you have come to the right place!
Juniper, sorry to hear AF arrived! It is only natural to feel pessimistic sometimes along the way so don't apologise :(
Thanks everyone for your advice on the OPK'S, this afternoons test was a little lighter than this morning so I am going to count tomorrow as O day! Hubby get ready here I come!! Hehe :happydance:

My cramps have picked up in intensity.. They are getting quite bad now. This is exactly how I felt during my last FET right before I started bleeding... And exactly the same timeframe too at 2 dpt. I'm scared. I'm not ready for it to be over yet
-
Jasmine, have you called your FS about it? Given what happened last time, I'd be bringing it to their attention. I've got everything crossed that you will have a very different outcome this time. :crossfingers:
Sab, hi and welcome! Sorry to hear your DH is being so stubborn. Mine has been fairly accommodating right up to the specialist recommending donor sperm 2 months ago, which he has refused to even discuss ever since. It's frustrating to be willing to not have your partner back you up. In terms of finding out about IVF, it's hard to summarise in a neat little forum post, so I'd suggest doing some light googling to get started and then bring any specific questions you may have back to this group. BTW, I don't think 50% motility is all that bad? My clinic just wants to see over 40% motile and over 20% rapid motile. The 10 million is a little low (my clinic wants 15 million), but there are things he can do to try to improve those numbers (eg menevit, acupuncture, etc).
Kel, good to hear! Go get 'im!!
Thanks for understanding, ladies. I had a bit of a cry this afternoon and I'm giving myself a 24 hour pass for some chocolate (asked DH to buy a block and told him I'm only allowed to eat it tonight/tomorrow and then he has to hide whatever's left).
-
Juniper if it was me I would be doubting there would be only left to be hiding! Enjoy your leave pass xx

Thanks Juniper. I called the FS already. He said there is not really anything they can do as I am already on all the meds they could give me (eg increased Crinone etc). He said to take it easy and hopefully it will pass. If it gets worse or is accompanied with bleeding I am to call his mobile. God I hope it doesn't come to that!! I feel like I have really bad AF cramps right through from my tummy to my back and 'shooting' type pains down my legs.
Sorry your feeling down honey.. Sometimes this cr@p gets really overwhelming .
-
Jasmine, can you take a sick day tomorrow to put your feet up and take it easy? I'm glad to hear you have a way of contacting your FS if the situation gets any worse.
-
I'm already off work tomorrow.. On the recommendation of my FS and acupuncturist I took a whole week of after transfer so not back till next week. Think I will be spending the rest of my time on the couch.
Sab- Welcome honey. I second what Juniper said.. Google google google and then bombard us with questions. I don't have any advice regarding your partner. Our issues have been completly me which I think in a lot of ways has been easier to deal with.
Kel- GL with your BD fest!
-
Jasmine, I'm glad to hear you'll be able to put your feet up!
Afm, DH didn't buy the chocolate. :( Guess he saved me from myself...?
-
Juniper, big hugs sweetie. Sometimes a big cry really helps to deal with it all.. I, on the other hand, have bought myself 2 of the big blocks of chocolate, ritchies had a special, 2 for $6. I'm sure one block will be gone tonight, my OH is the biggest sweet tooth ever.
Jasmine, I'm praying like crazy AF is not on her way. You must be so worried, I don't blame you, based on the symptoms you had last time. We can only pray and hope this time it will be a different ending. Sending love and prayers your way hun   I'm glad you've got all this week off, I'd be a total couch potato too.
Kel, you go girl!!!!
Hi Sab and welcome to bellybelly. Welcome to our little corner of it! I hope your journey is a short one, and that you won't need IVF after all. But if you do, I am living proof that it does work. GL hun!
Emma, yay for being on the waiting list!! Hope the waiting time goes quickly for you.
Mrs O'M, I hope the witch arrives soon so you can get the ball rolling!
PositivelyTTC, thanks hun. I really think you should do a sneaky test tonight, hehehehe. Just so you can just satisfy my curiosity? lol. I am so hopeless when it comes to POAS, I just want everyone to test!! haha. GL if you do!
AFM, I have a cold :( Yay, not!!! In a way I'm glad it's this week as I'd hate to be sick next week, should everything go to plan and I have my transfer on Friday. My little poppet is sick too, we vegged out on the couch today watching ABC for kids almost all day, he was so lethargic and hardly ate anything :(. I stocked up on everything from the chemist, plenty of vitamic C to be chewed. Nothing like a massive overdose to kick this cold in the teeth :) I hate winter!!!
-
Jasmine, you poor thing, I hope you have a nice day on the couch, watch some great movies, troll the internet and generally vege out. Crossing my fingers that everything works out ok for you
Juniper, sorry you are having a rough time, and that you missed out on chocolate, perhaps you could extend the 24 hour window to include today so you can grab a bit to eat later on, and like joespratt, i would not have any at all to put away :)
Sorry to hear you are unwell Miss B. I hope the cold passes quickly and easily and that your little one is feeling better soon.
Good Luck Kel, hopefully you and your DH had a nice night :)
Welcome Sab, I am new to the whole IVF experience so dont have lots of info for you, but I would suggest like the others doing some googling, and even drop into your closest IVF clinic, they have lots and lots of brochures and DVD's full of info that DH & I have found rather helpful.
Myturn, good luck for todays transfer, hope all goes well!
AFM, still waiting for AF I have cramps and am breaking out and generally pretty cranky so crossing my fingers that she arrives soon, we are going away for the weekend so I dont really want to be popping in somewhere else to get the initial blood test and would prefer to have it done at the clinic. Anyway we shall see.

Jasmine - how r u today?
Welcome Sab - as all the ladies said previously just ask us any questions once you have them.
Juniper - so sorry af showed up.
Just had bt - they checking if my cycle will be short one as estrogen was high at baseline. I am praying its not. My lining can't cope with o at 16 days so won't if its earlier. Af for me lasts full 7 days too :(
