Hello Girls
I have been MIA for awhile just needed some time away from TTC and all of that IYKWIM. We are starting our FET cycle as of today. It has actually been good being on the pill for the last month or so no stressing about which is the best day etc.....
So I started synarel today have a blood test next Thursday to make sure my levels are low enough then I will get the go ahead to start the progynova (6mg a day) to build up the lining then after a week or so on that then a scan and hopefully lining will be thick enough then I start the prog pessaries 5 days before transfer and 3 times a day.......YUCK........ I think I will wear a panty liner. So expecting transfer of 2 frozen blasties end of Septemer some time. Very relaxed about it all at the moment which is great.
:hello: to everyone else

Welcome Nic, you finally took the leap into LTTTC! ;) Maybe a change of scenery will encourage a BFP for you!
Welcome back Jade. I will be starting the pill on day 2 of my next cycle (for my 1st IVF cycle) and I am kind of looking forward to the 'break' as well! No temping, cm checking etc. It will be the first time in almost 2 years and I probably won't know what to do with myself.
What are prog pessaries exactly? I think I know what they are, but seeing as I haven't had my nurses appt yet I am not up to speed on all the meds just yet.
All the best with your FET, keep us up to date! :)

Hi Everyone,
Hey DJ and Allie, yuk yuk yuk hey!!! NOT FAIR!!
On a better note we got to speak to my doc about the failed IVF cycle and he agreed that my egg quality is such that i need an egg donor seen as how only 2 out of 8 eggs fertilised and the growth rate of the embryo's wasn't flash either . So the good news is that he has agreed for my partner Kim to be my egg donor, even tho usually egg donors need to have proven fertility!!! Also Kim and I got a nice surprise at Medicare today and we got alot more back than we thought we were going to due to the Safety Net, so I will only be having a rest cycle for this month and Kim will be starting stims in about 6 weeks time!!!! :) :) :) Kim is really excited because she feels more a part of the baby making process now seen as how she will be the biological mother and i will be the birth mother! She wants us to try this way first and if we dont get pregnant this way, we will then consider doing IUI with Kim.
Hope everyone else is doing ok, hugs and kisses...

megan thats great news for you and kim!! yay t the safety net :D
I keep forgetting to mentiin that there is another BB user called "Ursula". She is in a similar situation to you, 2 mums, sperm donor etc,
Maybe you and her could talk about things :)

Congrat's & best wishes & best of Luck!!!!!

Oh Megan and Kim, that's great news. I'm keeping everything crossed for you guys. How nice it would be to be able to have your bubba with at least one of you supplying the eggs. Good Luck.....
Hi to everyone else..xxx

Megan,
A couple of days ago when you posted about your 'bad' eggs, I was going to reply that your Dr could use Kim's eggs to transfer to you, but got sidelined doing something else and then it slipped my mind, so I'm so glad that things worked out that way anyway!

Twomums - happy for you that things are turning out more + than you thought & you wont have to wait too long for your next try, good news about using Kim's eggs.

Waiting for af to leave the building here & then our specialist appointment is next tuesday so not too long now.

Wow twomums thats FANTASTIC news. I must admit I was a little sad to hear that it hadnt worked for you and that you would have to have a break, so to get this news is just wonderful.
Hey Deb - how's it going ? In response to your 100 things you can do when not preggers ( i had a chuckle) Reminds me when I was in QLD in June, as I was in the TWW DH would not let me on any of the rides (except the wirly swing thing with my 5 yo nephew)
Then the witch arrived right at the end of the holiday.... so I could have gone on the rides and water slides etc... it was torture all the rest of the family were having fun and I had to sit and wait while they queued up etc. Big Bummer !!
Hi Megan good luck with your first go ! I hope you are succesful.
God luck Jade for your transfer - and the pessaries - eeuwww just like clay !!! heh heh
Take Care all, I am off on Saturday to have my FET... if the little champ survives the big thaw !!!! If not look out credit card (friction burn!!).

Hi all,
I have just freaked out a little, we have our spec. appoint. on Tuesday & I was going through my referral as you do & a sentence on dh sperm results worried me - this speciman contains teratozoospermia.
I looked it up & it means fewer than 30% sperm with normal shape, isn't this bad?
The dr we went to for results was not our normal dr & she said results were fine, she did mention something about abnormal sperm but not less than 30%!!!
85% of sperm had good mobility but I know they have to be normal to have any chance of penetrating the egg.
This would obviously make sense on why we havn't conceived yet.
The question is do I make my dh aware of this, it will make him feel anxious all weekend but not sure if the spec. tells us this on tuesday it might be a huge shock seeing as we thought everything was ok, maybe it still is I just don't know.

Jo, let me know how you go. I'm very interested in this as I think we may be in a similar situation after reading your post. The FS considered DH's SA "normal" but did say that the morphology was boderline but nothing to worry about.
I'll have to find his numbers because I think it was around 80% were abnormal shape.
Think I might go do some googling! ;)
-
Isn't it funny how SA can bring up so many worrying things. When my DH had his they said the results were borderline, but fine. I didn't really think about it much and then a few months later I asked one of the nurses for a print out of his SA so i could have it there for my records, and she explained it all to me and said that DH has a low mortality rate (or something along those lines) but his actual sperm count was double a normal sperm count that they counteracted each other and reduced his SA to 'normal'. I'm not sure how it all works, but i'm guessing Megan that maybe it could be similar....
Good Luck Jo for your appointment. I hope you get some answers.

My DH had 100% normal sperm.
DH then quit smoking, ate heaps of fresh fruit and vegies & started exercising. 4 months later DH went back for another SA (I think he liked them) Ha, and he then had 2 % of normal sperm. We still haven't achieved a pregnancy yet but they was a huge improvement. And as the Dr's say, it only takes one little sperm!
Ann

Hi Ann, sorry if i sound like a GIT, but do you mean 'normal' sperm or 'abnormal' sperm, coz you can't improve on 100% normal, can you??? BTW...i think my DH likes the SA too..hehehe
-
Megan my DH's morphology came back exactly the same, the Dr told us it was borderline but it was nothing to worry about. He has since given up smoking not that long ago and is now taking zinc and vitamin E so hopefully that will make it better.
-
I was doing some reading on the Monash IVF website this morning and it says that 15% of normal shaped sperm is ok, it's when it drops down to 5% that it could be a problem.

i'm Pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
