I'll be starting the synarel again in a week. Then there's 12 days of that before I start injections. We may have to stretch those 12 days a little longer to make sure I'm around for blood tests rather than in Tamworth, but it seems to me that injections and synarel are going to be easier to cope with than pessaries while away, so perhaps it's all for the best.

Im so sorry BW- Ill probably be joining you as I havent heard back from the dr regarding by spotting!
At least it won't take too long to start up again, Im a firm believer that everything happens for a reason- I dont not what reason yet! But maybe March will be your Month- fingers crossed for you!:crossfingers:
-
Sometimes doctors can be so hopeless in terms of getting back to you! Kim, I'm sure that the spotting isn't anything to worry about too much, as they did say the bleed that nearly put me in hospital from severe blood loss was nothing to worry about too much, either. It might be worth getting in touch with the clinic again just in case someone has got too busy and forgotten. I do hope your cycle can go ahead without a glitch - things have to go smoothly for one of us here!
BW
-
Hi everyone,
I'm sorry for the lack of personalsl, I just wanted to pop in to say 'hi'.
BW - I can relate to cancelled cycles, I total nightmare and frustrating. It's happened to me twice. But my FS sorted it out in the end.
BG - Wow - your Dad's family sounds almost as hideous (I hope you don't mind me saying) as my Dad's family. They didn't even turn up to my Gran's funeral, refused to acknowledge her in her last year of life - and these people are strict church goers! I think they have a very twisted view of Christianity! My cousin doesn't speak to my brother or I, depsite the fact that my brother is her son's Godfather. My aunt and uncle, and cousins didn't even reply to my wedding invitation 4 years ago! Like you, the issue is with my Dad and his sister, my Dad has always said to respect them, and the issue is nothing to do with my brother and I. Families - totally mad! :)
I went for my acupuncture treatment yesterday. I'm trying to improve the quality of my eggs - which is rubbish currently! I'm going to be taking Chinese herbs - in tablet form, zinc in powder form (I have no zinc, have been taking tablets for 18 months, and still have no zinc!), back to charting my basal temp for 3 months and acupunture once a week. My DH is also going to see the same person and we'll see if they can do anything about improving his morphology. She wants us to stay on her programme for 3 months until we do the next ivf cycle. Which only means putting it back a month. If it means we have a chance at better egg quality, then it's worth it.
It was my birthday yesterday, although I was at work, I still had a good day. We went out for dinner with my DH's family and surprisingly all got on really well and had a great night, lots of laughter - I think the sangria helped!
On Sunday we had our niece's 1st birthday party. As you can imagine it was pretty hard to cope with, but we got through it. It was a lovely party, but with all the babies around, you know what I mean!
:hugs: to everyone, I hope you are all OK. :)
-
Hi everyone. I've tried a few times to post successfully on here and I never get a reply. I really would appreciate some feedback or maybe I'm doing something wrong?
-
Anybody out there?
Hi. Is anyone reading this? I'm feeling a little lost!
-
Hi Aly, sorry we haven't replied, I don't remember seeing your post. How are you?
Alex - that sounds like a plan - hopefully the better eggs will produce dream come true!
Kim.b - I hope the spotting is nothing to worry about. Wasn't your bt appointment today? Have you had any news??
Loula - I hope you're wrong about the saggy boobs!! Maybe it's just gravity?! Just joking!
BG - hope you're doing ok after yesterday.
Sorry to everyone else, I'm really busy at work today... no news from me, off to the clinic next Tuesday so another week of sniffing before any news...
-
Hi Everyone and welcome Aly,
I have been in New Zealand for 2 weeks visiting family and i have just tried to catch up on all your news over the past two weeks. Wow, there's a lot to read!
DH decided to tell lots of family/friends about our TTC story as he is so sick of people asking why we aren't having kids. I was very against this as i didn't want it to be a big pity party. He knew my stance, but wanted to do it anyway. I hated every minute of it, but he said he has a right to tell his friends and family if he wants. I kind of felt that it dominated our trip - constantly trying to explain it all, without going into too many details. And there were babies everywhere, but i seemed to cope OK.
Hope veryone is doing OK today
Jo
-
Thanks Sammi
No I didnt have an app today- its next week! They're supposed to call today, but they didnt and i dont want to be a pain. So I'm just waiting to hear back from them! Hope its all OK!!!
Did anyone have bad mood swings on synarel! I started out having no symptoms to having night sweats and mood swings! I was great day yesterday and today I feel really depressed and teary- I just cancelled going out with a girlfriend, which I shoudn't have as I dont socialise that much as it is!!!!
Im also p*#@*d off that my DH got free tickets for a show this weekend and well we cant go as my DH has to give me a jab. Im going to do the jabs at 10.30pm every night, so then if I meet someone for a coffee, or dinner or movie then I can be back in time! What time do you do your jabs and also what (IU or IU- what does that mean???) of PUREGON are you all taking? Im on 250 is that alot????
Wow Ive asked a lot of questions today!!
-
Hi Kim.b, sorry, I thought you were a day behind BW and so starting your jabs today. I'm obviously confused, when did you start?
I'm having mood swings on Syranel. I'm tired, irritable and grumpy, everything is annoying me and I just can't wait till this is over!!! I also feel like I'm retaining fluids quite a lot, by the end of the day I feel like I'm already pregnant - my tummy is huge! I've got headaches from it too. It's not pleasant stuff.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to be on 150 of puregon. I don't have it with me, but I'm pretty sure that's what's written down. I'll check though. Can't you just leave the show and go to the toilet at 10.30pm??
I hope you feel better.
-
Hi there Sammi!
I do start my jabs today @ 250 which kind of sounds alot compared to you! How do they know what to give you??????? They told me Im on 250 because of my size (im smallish)???
I didnt think i could take the needle with me? How would I do that???? i feel really fat also??? And Im growing!!!!!
Sammi do you find your age a problem?- I know thats the ONE thing that REALLY bothers me- its like were not in our early thirties and were not too old - were in between and if it keeps going then were getting to the OTHER SIDE of 30! Someone else (i cant remember her name) just said that they had to tell there friends and family because they were being hassled and there only 30!!!! Ive got a lot of friends who a) are in the early thirties and not contemplating babies and b) dont even have a partner. Its common place now to start at 30ish! Its just that well we did and were still here! And I had drs telling us not too worry 'we've got plenty of time" Yeh right!!!!
-
HI All - Ive been hiding out for a few days and just popped in to catch up. So many posts! Sorry wont be able to do a lot of personals today.
Welcome ALy - dont recall any of your posts. Hope you are doing fine though...
BW - sorry about your news, thats never happened to me. Everything usually works like clockwork until my repeated BFN's!! Hope you are back on track soon, its always nice to know whats happening next a when....
Lou - Hope you are misreading your symptoms, take care till your HPT or BT.
On me - I decided to leave the BT till Wednesday as per FS plans (19 DPO!) I snuck in another HPT on Sat (15DPO) and still a BFN so I am not holding out much hope. Weird thing is I still feel that I have some Pregancy symptoms, sore BB's, mild cramps (not AF type), insomnia. Maybe due to Progesterone, Steroids or Clexane?? Who knows.
On another note I have just received a book I ordered on cause of repeated IVF Failures/miscarriage by Dr Alan Beer. Its about the immune system rejecting the ebryo so I am going to spend the afternoon reading it ( I knocked off early).
Good Luck to all - sorry for the lack of personals - I am way too depressed and disappointed. I just dont know how much longer i can continue with this - some people already think I am mad. This was #11 :(
-
Hi Kim,
I don't know how they know how much to give you, but the nurse that took us through it all last week said that they look at your age, and I guess other things like your weight. I'm pretty small too, so I don't know why your dose is different to mine. Who are you with? I'm with IVF Australia. I googled the word puregon and found something that said the doses were 150, 300, and I can't remember the others, but not 250...???
Oh yeah, sorry I wasn't thinking. It would be pretty hard to take the needle with you, it has to be refrigerated doesn' it?? Bummer... do you have an esky?? Ha ha...
I'm very aware of my age!!! It makes me realise the urgency of the situation - we want more than one child so we really need to move on things. We didn't meet until late so we couldn't have started any earlier. Some of my friends have kids and others don't. Most didn't start till their 30s. I only know of one friend who appears to be having problems. She doesn't talk about it, even when I talk about our problems so I don't push it. I know our sensitive it is.
Good luck with your jabs. Is your DH doing it? I told mine he is! At least it's something he can do....
-
Hi everyone. thought I would pop in this thread as well.( was in the other Long term TTC thread, but there seems to be a lot of people in here at the same stage as us.) :)
Anyway background for us is 4 years TTC, husband diagnosed with translocation mid last year, and now doing PGD IVF through MIVF. Finally had our probe built, started Syneral, and started 150 Puregon last night. Can't do jabs myself, as my hands are two small to hold the pen, and reach the trigger button, so DH gets that job. First jab hurt a lot, so not really looking forward to tonight. Have a follow up scan this Saturday, so hoping everything is on track. Oh and given the cost for us this cycle of $6,500 out of pocket (PGD is very expensive) this cycle better work for us!!
-
Hi there Sammi Jane!
Yeh DH is doing mine- ive a thing about needles im glad he doesnt! I was with IVF Aust with my 2 x IUI's and although i thought the nurses were wonderful my dr there kept stuffing us around and not giving us straight answers. My DH too has mf (low Morph) and the dr didnt think it was a big deal and i kept pushing for treatment hence the 2 x IUI's. So we went for a second opinion and well, yes it was a problem! and now were doing IVF ICSI!
Who's your dr there if you dont mind me asking???
-
Hi Kim,
My dr is Ric Porter, he's great. It's incredible isn't it - different doctor, different opinions... he wasn't keen on IUI at all when I asked about them. He said the success rate is so low he wouldn't recommend them. And our only problem is low count/volume.
Where are you going now??
Hi EJE,
Good luck!!! You're about a week ahead of me I think. I won't start jabs till next Tuesday if everything goes to plan. I hope tonight's jab doesn't hurt as much!
-
Hi Ladies
Just thought i would put my 2 cents in as well. Im on day 5 now and about to have my fourth injection tonight.. i was an absolute mess but seem to be doing better today, my MIL has been giving me my injections (shes a nurse) it seems to be bringing us closer together never really got along that well.. so something good will at least come out of this! I was also extremely emotional and teary especially today my mum took the day off work and drove 3 hours to spend the day with me!! She's a good chicken!
I am on 150 of the puregon until my scan on Thursday when we re- evaluate i think i am on this dose because i have PCOS and they are trying to make sure i don't hyperstimulate. I am going through Julie Lindstrom and City Fertility in Brisbane.
Just my thoughts for the day!
-
Kim - I use 300 Puregon each cycle. I used to take 150 then 250, getting many more eggs on the 300. I know someone who was one 450 - for years! She's now got a 6 m old little boy.
-
Yet another appointment today, and finally some good news. Those who know me from other threads would know I've been a little concerned about not only my risk of miscarriage due to PCOS, but also wondering if my arthritis condition could also make things more difficult. My FS said no, but was thinking more along the lines of meds. My rheumy (who is so wonderful and had to put up with me being a complete scatterbrain today and tears and just generally feeling bleh) was a lot more forthcoming and went through all my blood test results, way back to 2004. Every single autoimmune factor that could cause a problem regarding miscarriage has been tested when I first went to see him, and then again when we started TTC, and ALL have come back negative. So there's a huge weight off my mind. :) We've also hatched an evil plan to have me on naprosyn when I'm not cycling, just to hopefully give me some relief (today is a bad day in terms of joint pains) and not mess up the cycles. I wonder how the FS will feel when he starts getting letters from my rheumy... he decided it would be best to inform both the FS and my GP of my progress there.
I'm another on only 150 of puregon, I also have PCOS. Kim, have you had injections before as part of the IUI? Maybe from looking at how you've responded in the past they figure you need a higher dose? Just an idea.
Still not feeling up to too many personals, sorry. I'm doing a bit better, but still feeling generally depressed and frustrated.

Wow chatterbox ladies! teehee. Thankgoodness I survived air conditioning today but I dont think they have mine fixed. YUKK! i also dont know if this is a side effect for me on Metformin that I feel so hot even with the air con here at home at the moment, I feel like roasting.
BW Im sorry hun that im seeing your ticker as it is at the moment but you know what, only a small speed up in your road. Not a major detour. Sending you lots of "good sniffing vibes this time" *Hugz*
Shannon22 Do you have regular periods with your PCOS?
Sammi Hope that injection doesnt hurt too much
EJE Wishing you every success for this cycle
Dream Bub You are the one that knows about how many cycles you will go through to achieve your dream
-
another big day in the AC thread! sometimes i wish i had net access at work - i'm sure it would help me keep up!!
Aly - i can't say i've seen any other messages in this thread from you - maybe they hadn't posted properly or something - i know all of the lovely ladies here would have welcomed you if we'd seen your messages before!
EJE - a big welcome to you too! this thread is one hot potato at the moment!!! good luck with your cycle
BW - so sorry things aren't going so well at the moment - it's such a shame that there was nothing that could be done to make use of that little follie! here's hoping for a better start later after this little hiccup
Jo - welcome back from your holiday. i know it can be a little daunting dealing with youngsters while you're going through this TTC journey. and yeah, telling people can be complex - but in the long run, you may find that it makes life easier for you without everyone asking when you're having a baby - you just gotta hope that they have the smarts to not be insensitive and ask you where you are in your cycle all the time!
Shannon22 - another big welcome - good luck with your cycle - and it's nice to see you have a MIL who'll be there to support you through all of this!
Summer - so glad you had an air con today - it would be horridic in these conditions to be stuck in a stifling room! i find i've noticed the heat so much more this summer than i have before - but i'm not sure if it's due to hotter summer, or the meds i'm taking - i guesss i'll just have to wait and see!
Sammi Jane & Kimb - i'm pretty sure it's standard for the mood swing thing to happen with the synarel - i was something of an emotional mess for a while - but i think it's mostly because of the change in hormone levels that you go through on the synarel. i am just soooooooo glad DH is so understanding about it all - he just rides it out, no matter what i say (or do) - thank god!!!!
as for me - well, today has been a little better than the past few days - i went back to work and apart from being so tired i struggled to stay awake, things were ok. i'm still feeling tired, but i've shaken the headache i had all day, and i'm enjoying a nice relaxing evening on the couch.i stopped in at my folks place on my way home, let them vent at me for half hour about yesterday, then came home to DH and our managerie - i curerntly have two dogs asleep at my feet, a kitten on the back of the couch - and another kitten trying to work out how to rearrange breast tissue to make it more comfy for him to snooze on (little does he realise that his pointy little claws are very rather painful on such sensitive body parts!!)
with regard to the puregon - i started on 75IU and was stepped up to 100IU on my first cycle. next time they're putting me on 150IU then back down to 100IU after three days - apparently it's something to do with getting my ovaries to respond WITHOUT the hyperstim side of things - not sure what they think will happen, but i've come to the realisation that this part of my life is so completely out of my control, that i may as well NOT stress about it - do what i'm told by the doc, and accept that this is my lot in life. i have far too much stress in my life at the moment - why add to it?!?!
-
Howdy girls,
BG, hope you are doing ok after yesterday, what a big day for you. I hope you got what you needed out of it.
Aly, Hi! Sorry I havent seen you b4
Loula, sorry to hear about your mixed symptoms,,, how confusing for you.Keep your chin up hun,
Kim, Sammi, I had the "dont worry youve got plenty of time" comment at 24 and it annoyed me even then!!! I bet you feel like smacking them when they say that!!!
Hi there EJE, good luck with your treatment,
Kotare, I sympathise with you on telling all and sundry.... my mum decided to tell all of her family to stop them saying somehting insensitive to me! Great idea mum!!Just love it when you know everyone is talking about you and giving you the "poor you" look.
BW, great news with your tests, such a relief to know things arent going to be so worrisome or complicated for you I bet, now you can get on with things with a peace of mind.
Hi Shannon, gotta love your mum for dropping everything to look after you. What a dear!! and nice to get that connection with MIL. good luck with everything
DB, I hope you are managing to keep sane, that wait is just terrible. Try to keep your hopes up till the BT if you can. Hope the book helps get your mind around a few things too. knowledge is power I reckon.
Clare, do you have apt at the clinic when you book on or are you all set to start? I think when I ring to book on they will just send my stuff out to me as I have learned the injections stuff previously... getting a bit nervous about starting again now.
Hi to everyone,
big hugs all round from SAZ
-
Just popping to say hi to everyone - been so many posts its hard to keep up!
-
Hi Briggsys girl,
so glad you are feeling better. Probably a nice evening with all the furry ones is just what you need. They really are great at making you feel good. LOL at the kitten on bb. mine is 7 and still trying to do that when I'm lying on the couch.
I know what you mean about trying to catch up here while at work. I have to stop myself sitting here all day cause as soon as I go away about 50 posts happen!!! I feel like my head is spinning when I come back on. hehe
Off to waste some time looking at the tv.
-
Evening Boo, how are things with you?
-
HI Sazz
hope you're enjoying your TV viewing - we're watching season 8 of charmed at the moment - the final one - and i'm hooked - it's nice when DH is busy - he just doesn't get the whole "shush - i'm watching this" thing!!!
-
Hi Sazz,
Things are well thanks for asking, still TTCing naturally while we wait for our IVF to start - I feel like we've been waiting for ever  . I'm sure it'll be here soon enough...
-
Hi Everyone,
I ducked in earlier and introduced myself in the TTC Taking Clomid/metformin thread but thought I should probably pop in here and intriduce myself as well for those that don't fit in the clomid category, hope you don't mind.
I've been a member of bellybelly for a little while but haven't been around the forums for ages. I thought I'd introduce myself as we're trying for that BFP with assistance. I've been diagnosed with PCOS after 12-18months of irregluar cycles, weight gain and many tests. We started on Provera & Clomid earlier this month so we'll see what happens from here I guess!
-
Hey ladies,
Just wanted to pop in & say g'day but there are just too many posts to reply to!
I was offered a promotion at work today which means more responsibility & I'm just not sure if I need anymore stress in my life atm.
The only thing is I know if I say no the other lady who will be asked is hopeless & I'll end up fixing her mistakes & probably doing the work anyway!
Any advice!
Jo - 27 (treated endo)
Dh - 33

wow....we have been busy beavers in her today!! Welcome EJE...I am also with MIVF and on day three of GOnal F....my scan is set for Friday morning. We are also doing PGD but for miscarriage issues not translocation. What doctor are you with....I am seeing Lyndon Hale...wonderful man!
Hi to everyone else....sorry no time for personals still busy making my ring pillow for Saturday...YIKES.....only four days to go!!!!
-
Wow, busy night! That'll teach me to go out.
Welcome again erinmaree, and welcome aly.
Quick question regarding trigger shots... Is it normal for the area around the injection site to be red, inflamed and hot? It was really quite ouchy last night, and I kept waking up as I prefer to sleep on my tummy, but when I did, it hurt! I didn't think too much of it, but it's still red and inflamed this morning. I think I should call the clinic when I get a chance.
BW

Hi BW
I was just going to comment that I had my first puregon inj last night and although DH didnt hurt me, it hurt in the area afterwards- kind of like an ache on the skin for about 5 minutes! I hope this doesnt happen for the whole time Im on it!

New thread time, everyone.
