Hi Everyone,
I am day 9 of my first (short) cycle of IVF. Weird symptoms everyday. One question I wanted to ask was, is it normal to still get te stringy discharge and low temps you would normally see around ovulation time? Because that's what I have and I have begun to worry that perhaps the Synarel might not be doing it's job.
Laniwantsababy - I live in Bris now, but had an awesome FS in Sydney when I lived there who I would love to recommend to you. Can I email his name to you?
Twomums - sorry to hear about another IUI for you both. Say positive.
I'm crossing my fingers that my body is not trying to ovulate right now before my EPU next week.
Have a good day everybody
-
Hi Ladies,
Lani I live in Sydney and am REALLY happy with my FS so far. I'll PM you his details.
Well I just came back from my first ultrasound since starting the puregon and was amazed to find that after only 4 days of injecting 150ml I have around 30 follicles (about 15 on each side) that already range between 8-11mm so they're reducing my dosage to 100ml and will get me back in for another scan on Friday. They've also now diagnosed me with PCOS which had never been diagnosed before. They said it's the only explanation for what's happened so quickly and I guess I'm now at risk of OHSS (that is what it's called right??). Interestingly, TwoMums, I've read about a few studies where they've shown they are able to obtain much better quality eggs where the follicle number is low so now I'm concerned about the quality of my eggs with so many. I would be interested to hear about anyone else with a similar experience and the outcome. Should I be nervous or excited. I don't know whether this is a good or bad start!?!

wow, so much is happening in here !!!!
well i am back from camping now. so say hi to

sazz: sounds a bit ouchy!, hope it goes away, good luck
jaxi: hope all is well, wow 30 follies, that's amazing, do take care, good luck
busy: hugs 4 u, horrible AF, we do hate her.
twomums: good luck maybe new sperm donor might make the difference, good luck, fingers crossed and all that.
lani: so sorry, maybe good news on fri, good luck
brisvega: IGNORE ALL SYMTOMS is all i can say they just make you more crazy, well o.k they make me crazy, i overanalyse evereything, good luck to you , fingers crossed.
if i forgot to say hi sorry, been away for a few days and so much happening.
AFM: well all seems well, i had my FET on friday  and now i am in the TWW. we took off up the coast for 4 nights camping, was fun, had very relaxing time. except i got sea sick on last day then had to drive back home 3 hrs feeling yuk all way, wasn't nice.
i'm taking the day off school today as i have a big head ache, i feel wasted, DH said it is early morning sickness ( i wish !)
i am taking pregnyl, i had to do one on sat morn, then tue morn and again i'll have to do one on fri morn, OUCH !.
i don't even think of testing as i know pregnyl gives a false pos reading. so prob earliest i could test would be on next tue (17th march).
this will be day 31 and usually pregnly would be out of system aft 3 - 4 days.
don't have any symtoms yet? but have learnt to ignore them anyway. i've got everything crossed and lots of prayers too.
:goodluck::crossfingers:

Hi Jaxi,
I too have slight PCOS tendencies, my first cycle produced 20+ follies on FSH 225, (I started off on a higher dose as my baseline FSH level at Day 3 was 12, which is very high). My E2 levels at Day 8 of injections were 26,000. This cycle was cancelled. My second cycle at 125 FSH by Day 8 I again had 20+ follies, by Day 12 my E2 was 22,500, I went to EPU but no ET due to fear of OHSS. 19 eggs were retrieved and 15 fertilised, all were frozen at Day 1. In hindsight I wish I had have know enough to have them all grown to blastocyst and frozen, as I fully believe that the very high E2 levels at EPU compromised the quality of the embies, they were all very slow growing, only 5 or 6 cell by Day 3, and all had moderate fragmentation. I did 3 FETs with these embies all BFN.
However please keep in mind I have done 2 following stim cycles with lower follie numbers and had 3 and 4 great blasties respectively by Day 5, all of good quality, but still another 2 BFNs (so maybe it is me, not my follies). I have 3 in the freezer.
I think with PCOS also, it is possible to have a large number of follies however they may not all contain an egg, or a mature egg. The more mature the egg, the more E2 it will produce so if your E2 levels are also high, this will likely mean that you will get more eggs. I hope this makes sense and is of some help. GL for your next scan.
TwoMums, have a look back over the last 2 months of the TWW thread, the very lovely Neptune I believe had her IVF cycle converted to IUI and is now pregnant. I have seen quite a few others where this has happened, or where they have gone to EPU with only 3 or 4 follies and ended up with a BFP. Best of luck.
Brisvegas, my temp is always low until ovulation, I think that is pretty standard, so your temps should be low until you take the trigger and introduce prog. GL
Lani, I hope your BT on Friday shows you something more.
Hi to everyone else.
I am feeling a little low today, eventhough I O'd very early Monday morning, I have only had a slight rise in temps, I am obsessive about charting, and wondering why my temps have not gone up, I am on Crinone 1 x day, I wonder if I sould up this dose just in case. Any thoughts?
Have a great day everyone. Hugs.
-
JBM, hello lovely, sorry I must have posted at the same time and missed you. Glad to hear the TWW is going well for you, sorry to hear you have been feeling sick, how lovely if it was early morning sickness. Thinking of you and praying that this is your time. Hope the TWW goes by speedily and see you in there on Saturday. Big hugs, xx
-
Hello lovely ladies :)
Hope i can join in..... I have been lurking for a while but was waiting to start my first IVF cycle before i jumped in! Some of you may know me from the IUI thread and the 12+month thread.
Quick history...
I am waiting for AF to arrive to begin our first IVF cycle (antagonist cycle) i'm CD36 so hopefully any day now - We are very excited but also scared!
We had a BFN after a very promising down reg IUI cycle just before christmas which i took very hard - we have had a nice break and i'm now on naturopathic herbs and feel more human than i have in the past 2 yrs!!! Hoping and praying this will be it - my best friend is pregnant with her second and is due on my birthday in May so i'm being selfish and praying i'll be pregnant before she gives birth as i know i will then handle it better :D.
Will attempt to say hi to everyone...
JBM - GL will be praying hard for you during your TWW xx
Jaxi - Wow 30 follies - can't offer much advice but from reading this forum for a while make sure you take care xx
Lani - praying that Friday will bring you good news - i had a hcg reading of 6.8 after my last IUI but AF arrived the day after the BT but fingers crossed for you!
Two mums - when do you have another scan? - as others have said there have been plenty of people around who had only one egg or converted to II with BFP - so stay strong and positive.
Babydream - when will be your ET - good luck
Busy - sorry to hear AF arrived - if i had been told i couldn't start again til now after my BFN in Dec i would have screamed but the break has been a blessing in disguise - so look after yourself and treat yourself!
Hi to sazz and brisvegas ;)
Look forward to getting to know you all much better. BB has been a lifesaver to me in the past!!!
xxBella
-
Quick hi
Hi all
Sorry there is just so mny people in here at the moment that I don't hve time for personals
Busy - so sorry AF arrived. Thinking of you x
Lani - so sorry for your negtive. Thinking of you also
:hello: and welcome to the newbies. :goodluck:
AFM - On CD35 natural cycle this time and AF still hasnt come but I did do a POAS yesterday and it was BFN so just waiting now so that I can start IUI round. I think my body is all messed up though as I havent really had many symptoms that AF is coming. Probably the last Pregnyl injections have stuffed up my cycle.
:pink-babydust::bluedust: for everyone
-
Thanks for that info Baby Dreamtime. I'm actually already terrified of the prospects of a cancelled cycle. I'm feeling so bloated and crampy and am concerned that I have OHSS but I'm supposed to call the FC at 2pm to get results of my BT which will give me a better idea of what's going on. A friend at work just announced her pregnancy (first try and a BFP) and it just makes me all the more impatient!!!!!
JBM, wishing you all the best hun. Hope this is your cycle.
bella, welcome. I'm currently in the middle of my first IVF/ICSI cycle so looks like we're novices together. Wishing you all the best too!
-
Bella - we have another scan on Friday. We are still on the 300iu of GonalF and Lucrin, so maybe a miracle will occure and we'll get more than 4 follies, but Dr said at this stage he thinks he might pull the pin and do an IUI. Decision will be made on Friday about trigger/IUI/IVF. I am almost tempted to do the IVF if we have 4 follicles. But then if none fertilise we will have wasted our money on the IVF. Would feel a bit better to do the egg pick up if there were a few more follies. We can do the IUI and if it works cool, we'll save our IVF money. If it doesnt the money is still there to do another IVF cycle.

JUst wanting to pop my head in and say hi to everyone and spread some :bluedust::pink-babydust: and :stickyvibesboy::stickyvibesgirl:
:goodluck::goodluck::goodluck: to everyone in here cycling or not
-
Good afternoon girls,
Just popping in to say HI. Have been in TWW which seems like FOREVER! I buckled and did a poas last night and this morning and got a positive result :D Im trying to keep a lid on it until I get confirmation on Friday when I have my blood test. It cant some quick enough!!!!
Busy - sorry to hear your news. Hope your doing ok.
BDT - sorry I dont have any thoughts about the crinone as Ive only done all fresh transfers. Hope all goes well on Saturday :crossfingers:
Loops - hope AF arrives soon so you can start your IUI. :goodluck:
Bella - Hello and welcome :D Lots of advice and support here for you when you need it. Good luck with your upcoming cycle.
Jaxi - sorry cant offer you any advice as Ive only had small numbers with my cycles. Hope your call today gives you some more insight.
Twomums - from the sound of things, an IUI is the better option. Ive only ever had a small number of eggs as I only have 1 ovary so have proceeded anyway risking none of them fertilising and then wasting our money. However, it only takes 1 egg! :goodluck:
Brisvegas - I cant recall any discharge during my cycles, but thats not to say it wasnt there! Hope the synarel is working. GL :D
Lani - sorry to hear your news. Hope its not an ectopic pregnancy. Thinking of you.
JBM - hello my fellow TWWaiter! Hope your doing well and arent going TOO crazy!
:hello: to anyone I have missed.
Tania
-
Hi Girls,
Just popping in here to leave some :pink-babydust: :bluedust:
Ms Magpie: that is wonderful, keeping fingers crossed you get the confirmation on Friday!
Baby Dreamtime: Hope you're feeling a bit better.
JBM :goodluck: for TWW.
:hello: to everyone else

Hi All,
Sorry I am new to this and unsure how to PM. Can someone please advise.
BrisvegasEndo and Jaxi I would love to know who your FS reccommendations are.
Good luck everyone.
-
Hey Lani. Trying to PM you but there's no option to PM you available yet. Does anyone know how many posts you need before this function becomes available?
MissMagpie - looking good hun! Keeping everything crossed for you.
Spoke to the FC yesterday arvo and they confirmed my BT showed all good results and they are not at all concerned about the high number of follies now. They told me the FS's words were "everything is going fantastically well" so I'm feeling much better today although very tender in the lower pelvic region! My puregon dosage has now gone down to 100ml and I will go back in for another ultrasound tomorrow at which point they will probably lower my dosage again.
Debating whether or not to start AC at this point. Have I left it too late? Any advice??
-
Thanks Jaxi.
I got your friend request but can't PM you either.
Good luck with your u/s tomorrow.
:bluedust::pink-babydust::pink-babydust:
-
Lani : I think you need around 50 posts to Pm ....
Good luck today Jaxi
Hi to all you other girlies
-
Hi Jaxi,
If you mean acupuncture you haven't left it too late, the most important treatment is on the day of the transfer.
Sara
-
Jaxi - I have read alot of clinical trials and the most success is doing AC on the day of Embryo Transfer. You can do it during Stims if you aren't having success, but I think you have enough follies there to avoid sticking anymore needles than necessary during the stims phase!!!
Miss Magpie - Well done! All the best for your blood test! So happy for you!
JBM - Yay you have embies on board! Hope you have a fast TWW and a Sticky BFP!!
Hi to all you girls - Well one more sleep until we have a final decision scan. Everything is still the same, 300iu a day until tomorrow...
-
Tania - Looking very good. All the best for the confirmation. Hope you get your BFP! x
-
Thanks for all your well wishes girls :D Did another poas this morning and was positive again. Am feeling pretty relaxed. One more sleep to go!!!!!
Twomums - hope all goes well with your scan tomorrow :crossfingers:
Jaxi - glad is all ok. Its always good to hear that! Good luck with your scan tomorrow. I had acupuncture during my stim cycles and then the day before and day of transfer.
:hello: to Sara, Dutchie, wouldloveabubba, Loops and everyone else.
Take care,
Tania :D
-
Rightio I've just booked myself my first accupunture session for tomorrow - assuming this cycle is a BFP so it's time to kick something else into action!
-
Thanks ladies. I just hope Thursday's appointment wont be too late! Not sure how fast these follies will continue to grow.
Baby2Bee, enjoy your session tomorrow. Wishing you all the best!
-
Miss Magpie- 2 lines how exciting  Looking forward to hearing the official announcement after BT confirmation :stickyvibesgirl: :stickyvibesboy:
:hello: and :goodluck::goodluck::goodluck: to everyone
-
Hi everyone. No interesting news. On day 3 of OCP, EPU seems soooooo long away (15/5/09). Work mate is having EPU tomorrow:pray:hope all goes well for her (2yrs TTC). I have not smoked since Monday. I was a very light smoker anyway but i need to give this my best shot. Taking my vitamins, eating well, exercising etc.........Financially it may be a long run between cycles so i have to be as good as possible. I have noticed that some people POAS before BT. When will this work? Do the drugs give false positives? People have told me that you cant get a pos prior to the BT??? Mel...
-
hi all,
much anticipated BT today.
BFN :wall:
so waiting to see fs after af arrives soon
-
Hi Mell. yes some drugs CAN give a false reading. Take me for example.....I've been testing for the past 3 days and as I've gone on, the BFP's i've have been getting lighter and lighter. I know each cycle it's going to do this but for some strange reason it helps me emotionally because I can then look at the BFP and say...'it must be the pregnyl'.......hope that helps.....
Sorry to hear the news sunflower.....I've got my BT tomorrow and am expecting the same result. Hope once AF arrives and you see FS that your cycle's are looking a little brighter
-
:hello: to all,
Just wanting to send :goodluck::goodluck::goodluck: to those having BT very shortly.
I have :crossfingers: for you all.
-
Sunflower: really sorry to hear that.
MissMagpie: HOpe you get the confirmation today, thinking of you.
Baby2Bee: Wishing you GL :goodluck:
-
so yesterday was bfn but we are wanting to get straight back on the horse :)
But of our 4 froz blasts,2 didn't make the thaw, 1 transferred (the bfm) so just little frotie stll on ice.
we are in two minds over whether to try our like with thawing the last one (track record not great) or just jump into another stim cycle and opt for maybe 2 transferred next time.
any opinions would be great. btw male factor infertility which is why my FS was originally being so cautious.
xo

Hi everyone,
OK in my efforts to psyche myself up for my FET tomorrow, I have come up with the following very believable reasons at to why this cycle will work, and have been repeating them to myself for days. I just had to write them down so here goes:
First cycle with new FS
New FS is Lucky Lindstrom
First natural FET (all the others have been HRT)
Recently tested + for MTHFR - first time treating this with Clexane, low dose aspirin, mega Folate, B6 and B12
Taking Prednisone in case of any NK cells
Only my third ET with blasties (past FETs were with crappy Day 3 embies)
And, I don't know if it counts or not but the last clairvoyant I saw last Oct told me that my Jan cycle wouldn't work but it would be the next one, and I would be UTD by my birthday, 30 Mar. Is this wishful thinking?
What do you guys think? Surely it is my turn. Please please please be my turn.
Bella, GL with your first IVF cycle, hope it brings you a BFP first go.
JBM, hope you are travelling ok in the TWW, fingers crossed for you.
Loops, has AF arrived yet? GL with you IUI cycle.
Jaxi, hope your next scan goes well, glad to hear your E2 levels are good. Best of luck.
TwoMums, same to you, hope your follies are looking good for your scan today, and hope you are happy with which ever choice you take.
Dutchie, how did you go with your FS appointment and getting your ANA treated? GL for your next cycle.
Tania, congrats on the POAS BFP, looking forward to getting your great news confirmed today with you BT.
Sara, hi, thinking of you and hope you are going well with your prep for next cycle. I am watching the PGD thread and checking in on you.
WLAB, ditto to above, do you have a scan today, I hope you get that magical egg.
Lani, hi to you too.
Mellmell, I think the waiting is the hardest. And I agree, this costs so much money you really have to give it your all health wise. GL and will be watching how you go.
Sunflower, so sorry to hear your news, GL for your next cycle, what ever you decide.
Baby2Bee, GL with your BT today too, I hope you get a surprise BFP.
To everyone else, GL where ever you are in your cycle. Hugs to all. xx
-
Morning all,
Well AF arrived last evening so I'm out this round :(, My cold has gotten worse just to compound my misery too :cold: But I'm with you Sunflower I just wanna get straight back on the horse!
B2B I have my fingers crossed for you today!!!!!!
Babydreamtime can you tell me what NK cells are? Sorry for my ignorance! I had a 5day blast transfer as the RE said they were better to use and you will more likely get one that sticks, even though mine only stuck for a very short time! Also all natural FET (with only vitamins to boost me and a bit of acupunture on the day of transfer).
Again good luck with all you left in the 2WW!
-
Baby Dreamtime, I like your positive thinking!!! I am a firm believer that we know when the time is right and when everything appears to be falling into place. Wishing you the best of luck for this cycle hun.
Lani, sorry I haven't been able to provide you with my FS's name etc yet. Due to privacy reasons I'd prefer not to post the details here but would love to give you his details :wall:
Sun_flower, you have a fantastic attitude hun. Good to see you're ready to get straight back on that horse. I hope to have your spirit if this cycle doesn't work out for me. Wishing you the best of luck for your next cycle.
Baby2Bee, wishing you the best of luck. Fingers crossed for a good result.
Had another ultrasound this morning. All is looking good. At the moment I have about 3 x 13mm follicles, a few 11s and 12s and a whole lot of 8s. Can anyone explain how it all works? I guess they go by the biggest follies but does that mean the eggs in the smaller follies wont be properly developed by the time of epu (which currently looks like it will be happening around Wed/Thur next week)? Also, I've been feeling incredibly nauseaus and they told me this is due to my high estrogen levels. Has anyone else experienced these side effects on puregon. I want it to go away!!!! The only nausea I am willing to accept is morning sickness!
-
thanks for the GL's everyone! Think i'm out this round though. POAS before my BT this morning and it was a BFN! Nurses have said it's time to move onto IVF however this won't start for another few months. It's a good time for me to focus on myself again for and to try and lose a bit of weight. In a few hours I'll know.......GOOD LUCK everyone!!!
-
BDT - I love the positive thinking. Hope it really does work. Definitely should be your turn. All the best! Nope AF still hasnt arrived, really don't know what is going on with my body. Something certainly different this cycle, but still thinking it is probably because of the Pregnyl from last IUI.
Buggirl - really sorry about AF arriving, GL with getting back on the horse.
Tania - GL today - can't wait for your news
Sun_flower - So sorry about AF. GL with your next cycle
Baby2Bee - GL today and if it is negative, hope you can get straight back into it and stay positive. Thinking of you.
:hello: to everyone else and good luck with scans, TWW's, BT etc!
AFM - CD37 and AF still hasnt arrived but I did POAS few days ago and BFN. If AF still hasnt arrived tomorrow I might do another one. I worry that doing POAS jinx's me though. Silly I know.
-
Hi Everyone,
Gee lots going on for us all at the mo. New year, new cycles and new chances!
Lani - I am unable to PM you. I'm trying to rack up enough posts to become a Platinum member. If you go to the website for Sydney IVF - Sydney CBD and look under doctors, my FS was Dr M L. He was amazing and well worth the wait. I think there might be some newspaper articles on him online too if you do a search.
Babydreamtime - Lucky Lindstrom hey. I go to the same clinic but see one of the other doctors. Good luck with it!
Well I just got back from my 2nd scan, and I am up to 16 follicles and borderline OHSS obviously. So I am doing a booster tomorrow sometime and if all goes well over the weekend then EPU Monday. Fingers crossed still.
Lots of eggs = good OHSS = bad
I am sending positive vibes through to the rest of you. I know that we will see more and more good news in here as the year progresses.
Thanks for all your support so far.
-
Hi Buggirl,
Sorry to hear AF arrived. Wishing you all the best of next cycle. NK cells are natural killer cells, they can be tested for in a BT (mine was neg) but some FSs believe that the best way to test is via an endo biopsy which I have not done, so just taking Prednisone in case (and also as a left over from the Colorado Protocol I did last cycle, my FS is ok with this). I agree with Day 5 transfers also and would always try for this.
Hi Loops, I hope you work out what is going on soon, strange AF hasn't shown, can you get a BT to check out what is happening?
Baby2Bee, GL for your coming IVF cycle, I hope the time speeds by.
Jaxi, follies sound great. As far as I can know they like to trigger you with the majority of your follies are around 18-20mm+, it may be that some of the smaller follies might have immature eggs. They try to get the majority at the right size. Hope the nausea wears off soon. What was your E2 level? GL with this cycle.
BrisVegas, great news re your follies, take care with the OHSS and all the best for your EPU. Wishing you all the luck for this cycle.
Better get back to work.
-
Thanks Baby Dreamtime. What is E2? I will ask them this arvo when I call for BT results. Feeling so wretched now about to leave work. Just want to rest my head in a bucket. I am not going to be looking forward to going through another stim cycle if this one doesn't work!
BrisvegasEndo, wishing you all the best over the weekend. Hoping for only good things for you.
I also appear to be at risk of OHSS so I'll be following your journey closely.
-
BDT - I think I will do another POAS tomorrow and then if AF still hasnt arrived perhaps later next week I might look at booking a BT. My cycles are normally long but not this long and I dont have sore BB's like I normally do before AF arrives. Hopefully the last test i did just didnt register BFP, maybe wishful thinking but I guess there is no harm in that.
Will keep you posted x
-
Hello everyone, Just a quick one from work!! Guess what!! We are going to Egg pick up we have 7 follies now! One of them is big 18mm and the rest are about 14mm so we might lose the big one but that still means 6 eggs and our FS changed his mind and decided to go ahead with the IVF!!! E2 was 1920 - Yay!! Go back on Monday for another scan and bloods and then go to EPU on Wednesday 18/03/08. Gotta go, just wanted to say YAY!
-
Hi everyone,
Twomums - thats great!! Congrats - GL for next week.
Loops - your the same as me! I'm cd38 now waiting for AF to start my first IVF cycle. I poas few days ago and again today but both BFN - but am getting some cramping so maybe today. By the way if you had pregnyl in your last IUI it will be long my period after my last failed IUI with puregon and pregnyl i was 42 days - but i will pray hard for you just incase!
Jaxi - your follies sound great but your nausea sounds awful! They estimate that follies grow around 2mm/day or two days - if i remember corectly. E2 is your estrogen level and indicates how mature the eggs are ie. higher E2 more mature - hope this helps - by the way if this is wrong someone please correct me!!
Brisvegas - take care hun rest up over the weekend - GL
B2B - have you heard yet?
Babydreamtime - GL tom all your reasons sound perfect - i'm trying to create my own list before i start!!
Sunflower- sorry to hear BFN - I don't know that i can really offer you any good advice though as this will be my first cycle sorry!
Hello to everyone else - god it's hard to keep up!!
AFM - still waiting for AF - maybe it's coming this arvo did another poas today but still BFN so must be coming!! Can't wait - just want to get on with things!
Take care everyone and have a great weekend xx
Bella
