TwoMums - that's fantastic - congrats.
Congratulations TwoMums, all the best for a successful transfer on Sat and hope you have some extra to freeze. GOL for the TWW.
hi everyone...it's been quite a while since i stepped into this thread, but I am technically back, so I wanted to say hello...and wish all of you the best with your cycles.
we are trying naturally for a while, before resuming IVF if needs be.
twomums- great news!
Hi All
I am new to this. On day 5 of first IVF w ICSI cycle. Injections etc all going well so far....Anyone in here got any tips & advice? Been TTC for just over 2 years and getting quite jealous of all my pregnant friends!!
Hi Lea - Welcome. :welcome:
Nice to see another Perth girl! I am also on my first ICSI cycle and in TWW. Driving me insane. My only tip is to keep busy when you can because it tends to be all you can think about and sometimes it is nice to not think about it for 5 minutes!
Hi fellow TWW-ers and TTC friends. It's not too late to send your letter to the politicians about the possible elimination of the safety net for IVF - BUT IT MAY BE TOO LATE NEXT WEEK. All the information you need can be found in this thread: https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...ml#post1712142. In response to a suggestion, I just posted a form letter - just to make it easier for those who aren't sure where to start.
Fingers-crossed for all of us - wouldn't it be nice if we ended up sending this letter on behalf of future IVF-ers because we all ended up pregnant!
Twomums - that's amazing!!! Well done.
Good morning lovely ladies!
Twomums - wow congrats - great results you both must be very relieved!
Lea - Welcome! I'm day 7 today of my first IVF with ICSI cycle so 1 day ahead of you! I can sympathise with you re: the pregnant friends - my best friend is due on my birthday in May and beleive it or not i spent 3 hours yesterday shopping for baby gifts! I was on my own and did actually enjoy it but when i got in the car to drive home the tears fell!!! I mst add though she is a fantastic support to me.
Loops - has AF arrived yet????
Lani - hows the tracking going? GL for your FET xx
JBM- i know it's a bit late but was very sorry to hear AF arrived - hope your relaxing and taking care of yourself xx
Hello to everyone else - i hope everyone is staying relatively sane jabbing, sniffing, B/Ting, U/Sing, waiting..............!!
AFM - well today is day 7 so i have my first orgalutran tonight with my puregon - does anyone know can i just have one straight after the other? I'm feeling ok physically - a little bloated and intermittently very slight cramping but sometimes i think it's in my head! I have first U/S and B/T tom and i can't wait - i hate not knowing whats going on.
As for DH - he seems quite detached - he was very excited during and let down when the last down reg IUI didn't work so maybe this is his way of trying to deal with it? Anyway enough from me.... I'm off to get waxed fun, fun!
xxBella
Just a quick note (I am always at work when i get these updates).. But the embryologist called me to say that we have 3 embies at 4 cells and Grade 3 (the best) and 1 at 2 cells and Grade 2+. She only graded the 2 cell at 2+ because it is 2 cells but she is sure it will catch up (it must be a boy)... She said they look really really good and that we have a really high risk of getting pregnant with these embryo's and if we put two back we have a really high chance of getting twins!!! WOWEEEEE!!! BBL for personals girls!!!
Two Mums - that is fantastic - I forget - are you doing a 2 day or 3 day or blast transfer and when is the transfer?
We are doing a three day transfer tomorrow morning at 9.15am !! So the embabies are day 2 today and already doing really well!
Twomums - your embies sound TERRIFIC! Good luck for tomorrow and look forward to following your progress in TWW :D
:hello: to everyone else. Hope you doing well which ever stage your at.
Take care,
Tania
Afternoon all.
Well EPU went well they got 23 eggs. I will know tomorrow how many were usable and fertislised and am nervous. T/F Booked for Tues.
Twomums :goodluck: and lots of :stickyvibesboy::stickyvibesgirl: for your T/F tomorrow.
Bella I used Puregon and the oralgutran and I used to take one after the other and it seemed to work I never asked I just thought it made sense to me cause I used numbing cream so it should be ok for you too sweet.
Hope everything is going well for everyoine else too. :grouphug:
i am still here, just taking some time after our last BFN.
good luck everyone
xx
2mums - what a fantastic result, congratulations
Rob, 23 (i got that last time too) It is all too often that i see women get such large numbers at EPU! it is a bit of a worry, rest up as much as you can until tf. GL
Just popping in to wish you all GL with your treatments
Hi Everyone
Rob - 23 eggs - wow! Hope you're feeling okay and not suffering any ill effects from EPU. Rob - numbing cream? What is it called and where do I get it? Not yet started injections but want to be prepared!
TwoMums - wonderful news on your embies!! Lots of luck for ET tomorrow. :crossfingers:
Lani - can't give any advice on your figures I'm sorry but hope the monitoring is going well for your FET:D
JBM - so so sorry to hear AF has arrived. Hope you're doing okay. :comfort:
Mindhugs - love the new alias!
Possums - welcome back - GL with going a la natural and hopefully you'll have no further need for BB forum!
Lea F - Welcome and GL with your first IVF cycle. Glad your injections are going well. I am also on my first IVF cycle though still on syneral at the mo.
EmmaPenguin - Hope the TWW is going okay and fingers crossed for beginners luck for you!
bella55 - hope the injections are going okay!
AFM have started the syneral and so far it is absolutely fine - kind of wondering if I'm doing it properly to be honest?? It feels so innocuous it just doesn't feel like it could possibly be doing anything - but I'm sure it is.
Quick question on stimming - just wondering from everyone how many days does your FS ask you to do of injections before you go for your first ultrasound and blood test to see how you are responding?
Good luck everyonexx
:grouphug:Kmond, the cream is called Emla cream. But be warned it's about $80 per tube which for me did a cycle. I also bought tegaderm clear skin, put about a 20c piece worth of cream on an hour before needle with the skin over and it was perfect.
Funny though cause I used to be an ambo, just resigned last year to work on having another baby, and never had a problem with jabbing everyone else ha ha.
The injections etc are dependant on your bodies reaction to the drugs. Liek your blood levels and how the follicles are growing apparantly.
To be honest tonight I feel better pain wise than after my first cycle. I feel tired but I am assuming thats from the anasthetic more than anything. But trust me I plan to rest flat out for next few days up til transfer on Tuesday. I also felt like this time nothing was happening and look so maybe it's a good thing hun.
I am hanging out to know how many fertilised. I would be happy with 10, 15 great any more brillinat, but I don't want to hold my breath cause you just don't know. Last time I had 13, 9 were mature, of them 6 fertilised we put 1 back, froze 4 and 1 was no good. When we went back for transfer none survived that thaw. They were great embryo's they said and so I learnt not to expect anything at all.
Twomums I am just as excited for your transfer as waiting for the call about our embies. Lots of luck you are doing great.
JBM How are you going hun, has hubby reconsidered. Mine has also said no more stim at least this year so lucky I got eggs. Now they just need to be fighters and either move in fresh oir survive the thaw.
To everyone else :goodluck: wherever you are in your cycles. Let's bring on those BFP's.
Hi Girls,
Just dropping in to spread a bit :bluedust: and :pink-babydust:.
Rob: that's a great result keeping fingers crossed for fertilization.
JBM: Hoep you are okay - are you already thinking about next steps or just taking some time? Look after yourself.
Bella: I was told it's okay to take them straight after each other but to leave at least an inch in between the injections, so I always did one on one side of my belly and the other one on the other side and swapped sides each night.
Twomums: Good luck with transfer.
:crossfingers: to all the girls in TWW.
:hello: to everyone else.
Sara
Hi lovely ladies,
I am putting myself back in here even though AF has not yet here, she is due tomorrow and fully expect her to arrive.
So another BFN for me this month, it is my 6th BFN in 12 months.
I am feeling a little numb, haven't let myself fully analyse what this means and am trying to still look forward with hope, but it is getting very hard. I am off to see FS on Monday and will hopefully go straight into a flare cycle, so I will be official cycling as of Monday.
Will catch up on everyone's news then, all the best to everyone who is having EPU and ET this week.
Hi Everyone,
INJECTION TIP
- earlier on in this forum I gave my tip for injections. Actually I only used it for my trigger, but you could use it for all injections. Just use one of those freezer bricks like the ones you use in eskies. You place it on the injection site for about one minute and then go for it. You will not feel a thing. I know that Twomums took my advice and didn't feel a thing either.
I also took my trigger out of the fridge half an hour before injecting it. The solution tends to get thick when it's too cold and hurts more going in - or so I'm told. This did not hinder my IVF treatment at all. I had 16 follicles and got 16 eggs at EPU.
Good luck with injections I hope this helps you too. Saves money on Emla cream.
Wow so many people , here goes for a third try:
Bella - Yes AF has arrived, thanks for asking. GL with your jabbing
Two Mums - Big CONGRATS, hope all goes well
JBM - So sorry about AF and your struggles. Hang in there and GL
Mindhugs - Thanks your wink must have done the trick :D
BDT - Sorry AF is coming, hope its a false alarm
Jodes - Yes lets hope about Safety Net. Excuse my ignorance but I assume stim because I am having the hormone injections - is that right?
Rob - well done on 23 eggs. GL Tues
Lani - GL with everything to do with FET
Possums - GL with your natural cycle
KMond - GL with the Syranal
Lea F - Hi, welcome and GL
Sorry if I have missed anyone x
Now I'll do my AFM:
AF finally arrived after a 43 day cycle. So as I predicted it was probably because of the hormone injections from last IUI which stuffed my whole system up. Thanks for your thoughts along the way. x
I can't believe I am actually happy AF is visiting, I will be starting my Puregon injections tomorrow night (Sun) or Mon night and I am very excited to be starting the process again.
I really hope it works this time for obvious reasons but also because we are currently trying to buy a house so can't really afford to do IVF just yet.
GL everyone and thanks for all your help and support in here xo:grouphug:
Hi everyone,
A quick one from me as i'm about to go to work! Had my B/T and U/S today after 6 days of injections - they didn't tell me much (which annoyed me a little!) but my E2 is 523 but i think there may have only been 2 large follies (about 13mm) and i think around 13 on the right and around 12 on the left (i'm gussing the scan results from what she typed on the screen they didn't tell me!) So have my puregon and orgalutran tonight and Sun then repeat B/T and U/S Monday. What does my E2 level sound seems a little low????
I came home and had a sleep for an hour or so - feeling quite bloated - off to work now will check in later.
xxBella
P.s - congrats Loops on AF arrival - now you can start GL!!!!
PPS - mindhugs tips for painfree injecting works - orgalutran didn't even hurt last night!
LOL Mindhugs, i'll have to remember that one for Kaz coming up very soon! Thanks for the advice. *Looks at his fridge worthe $1700 right at this moment lol*
mmmm cant wait to start jabbing her LOL Joke :P
Sorry to hear about AF arriving Loops, i didnt know :( Best of luck with the upcomming IUI! 2009 will be our year! Go Gatha ppl! LOL.
Best of luck to everyone else too.
Dave&Kaz
Thanks Bella, goodluck with your U/S and B/T on Monday. Will be thinking of you.
Kurby - thanks and goodluck to you guys. Would be great for 2 couples from Gatha to be pregnant at the same time! xo
Lou
Afternoon All,
Hope everyone is doing ok.
Just herad from the clinic. Of the 23, 17 were mature and fertilised and of those 13 are good so I am very happy with the number. I only really had my heart set on 10 so very happy with the result :leap:
Tues is the day for T/F so here we go.
Twomums - Hope you are doing well after your T/F :stickyvibesgirl::stickyvibesboy: and lots of luck :crossfingers:
:hello: to everyone else. Be back later.
Hi Everyone,
Rob - That is fantastic news. Great fertilisation rates! Congrats!
Loops - Glad AF finally arrived so you can get back on that horse and try try again...all the best for this cycle!
Bella - I think your e2 levels are really good for 6 days of injections, Kims was only 72!! Its only early in the game, next scan and bloods will be the tell tale!!
Mindhugs - That is fantastic an egg for every follicle!! Cant wait to hear about fertilisation !!! Good on you!!
BabyDreamTime - Have you had your BT yet??
Kmond - Everyone is different, but usually about day 10 or 11 you have your 1st scan, so about 6 days of stims..
Big hi to everyone else!!
Well we had the transfer this morning. When we got there we had:
2 x 6 cells at Grade2+ (the two we put back)
1 x 5 cell at Grade2+ (one we are going to freeze)
1 x 4 cell at Grade2 (one that has probaby arrested)
I asked if they should have been 8 cells by now and she said that because it is so early on the 3rd day they are perfectly good embryo's. I asked if the 4 cell was the one that was only 2 cells yesterday, and she said no, that the 2 cell from yesterday was now a 5 cell, good enough to freeze. The other one that is a 4 cell was already a 4 cell yesterday and most likely wont be good enough to freeze. They will check it this afternoon to see if it has changed to a 5 or 6 cell, but it has most likely arrested. Wont know until Monday.
So we have the best two embryos that are perfectly great embryo's on board! Kim went to accupuncture yesterday afternoon at 5pm and today after the transfer at 10am. We arent going to do anymore, the accupuncturist said that studies have shown that before and after transfer is all that is required. She put these little round sticky plasters that are like tiny thumb tacks into Kim's ear and she said they can stay in for up to 7 days to assist implantation. Now all we can do is hope and pray!!!:pray::pray:
2mums: great news with your embies. your twins are on board, now the TWW. hope it goes fast and we look forward to hearing some good news:dance: good luck
rob: wow 23 eggs, you must be sore?, good job by sound of it. how many you putting in ? by DH says not sure about IVF again ( ever) but we're talking and thats a positive. thanks for your encouragement, you prob understand me more, but been feeling very alone lately. good luck to you.
kmond: 1 felt same with synarel as you, had no real side effects they said but it worked for me. i actually had no side effects ( apart from bloating ) with injections too but i had all of them with crinone gel. go my fingers crossed for you. :crossfingers:
sara: good luck 2 u .
BDT: know how u r feeling. pray u r wrong, and nasty AF doesn't come. good luck
mindhugs: your advice sounds good for the injections. good luck to you.
loops: how r you going? nasty AF, we hate her most of the time, she is an unwelcomed visitor in our house. ha ha. good luck to you.
bella: hope those follies keep on growing, got fingers crossed
kurby: not long til start jabbing. hope it goes well 4 u.
if i missed you : so sorry
afm:
well who really knows?
DH or should i leave out the D in front of that ?!, has said yes lets do another IVF, but now he is saying no again, he wants to adopt.
he doesn't want to go thru all the emotions of IVF as it was a very hard year for us with all this TTC, and 6 BFN.
i don't know, i am still sad, AF is still here (i hate her BTW). i still feel a little lost but i have some time off this arvo for 2 hrs, do DH.
so maybe IVF, maybe not ? it's all up to DH as i am perfectly fertile.
Thanks everyone :D
Hi everyone
Just an update, I had to call the IVF lab, i couldnt wait until monday to find out about the other embryos. The embryologist said that the 4 cell became a 5 cell and the 5 cell became a 6 cell (both grade 2) so both have been frozen. We have two snow babies!!! Yahoo!! These two were the last to be injected she said so that would be why they were behind. She said that the embryos were 60 hours old when we transferred so not quite 3 day embryos, hence why they didnt have 8 cells. Anyhow, not much we can do now. We are so pleased with the result from 5 mature eggs, 2 to transfer (by choice) and 2 frozen. Thank you everyone for encouraging us through this up and down cycle.
Twomums - thats great results - i'm really excited for you both! Thanks also for the reassurrance - second scan and b/t tom am at 845 so will update tom. xx
Hi to everyone,
xxBella
Hi everyone,
Well i just had a P/C from FC - had my second u/s and b/t today - e2 up to 1450 5 large follies and 20 in total - plan for b/t and u/s wed then EPU fri/sat !!!!!!!:D
I feel much better because it was my regular nurse who called and she was lovely and reassurring and gave me lots of info (the one who called me on sat was disinterested and didn't really tell me anything!). Anyway i'm cleaning my house so will BBL for personnals.
xxBella

Hi Ladies
Quick one from me as I haven't been around the past few days and there's lots I still need to catch up on. Just wanted to wish TwoMums all the best. VERY excited for you!!! Hoping for some good news.
Lani, wishing you all the best for your upcoming epu. You'll like acupuncture. I was having regular treatment last year and was feeling great but then stopped this year when it really would have counted  I'm starting up again with an appointment tonight to try to get my body prepared for my next IVF cycle which seems sooooooooooo far off right now.
Have to go for an u/s and bt tomorrow morning so they can tell me whether my follicles have been reabsorbed into my body and take me off synarel so I can then wait for AF and have a whole natural cycle before beginning IVF/ICSI again on the antagonist cycle. So I think it's still a good 6 weeks before I can start getting excited again. The countdown has begun
2 mums: great news on the frosties, now the TWW. i'll have my fingers crossed for you. are you usung a known donor for sperm? sorry just wondering as may have to be an option for us in future, donor that is. good luck to you.. this is it. xxoo
bella: countdown to EPU, do make sure to rest afterwards, i did too much as felt fine then got sick, not nice 4 me. praying all goes well 4 u. xx
lani: how was acu, i love it and it was others on BB that told me how good it was. hope you had a good acu person, mine is great !
not long to FET, counting down 3 days to go now.
AFM: nothing has changed for me. af is winding up now and prob finish on wed. feeling a bit better now but still not sure of next step?
at least DH and i are talking now and my mood is changing, i even sent my friend a congrats on her recent preg announcement, was hard but felt ok about it.
chat soon
.
Hi Everyone,
Well my final stats are in:
16 eggs at EPU
15 were good to use
11 fertilised
3 made it to Blastocyst and are on ice
We are a little disappointed because you always hope for greatness. But 3 is better than none. Now we have to wait until they are comfortable to do an FET in about mid May. I feel fine, but apparently I am still at risk of OHSS until then???
They told me that they used a new technique of freezing called vitrification. Apparently they have been testing it for 2 years and have found that 80% of blasties survive the thawing this way. Has anyone else heard of this? They use a kind of long knitting needle with a thin hook on the end. Then they place a drop of solution on the hook and place one blastie in the drop. Then they touch the knitting needle to a frozen block of steel and it freezes in under one second. They supposedly defrost in pristine condition??? I think it obviously takes them longer to do than the test tube as they repeat the process for each embryo.
Also, has anyone found themselves bloated up and full of gas for a couple of weeks following EPU. My stomach is hard as a rock and doesn't seem to want to go down. I've been taking heaps of acidofallous (sp?), which isn't doing too much. Any tips?
BBL for personals too ;)
Hi Mindhugs - i always take at least 2 weeks for my stomach to go back to normal so i wouldn't worry. Also in regards to the vitrification process - the clinic i go to uses the same process and all of my frosties so far have survived the thaw.
Mindhugs : Congrats on 3 Blast's from 16 - that is great. I had an EPU last Friday of 16 and transfered 2 and froze 1, and I am rapt... They are great results. Dont worry bout the belly, I look 6 months pregnant atm, and I looked in the mirror and practised how I am going to look when they stick  Make sure you drink heaps of water, it flushes all the medications from your system, its one of the ways to prevent ohss. Which I believe I had mildly this cycle..
Are you twinging ? And why are you waiting till May for transfer?
Hi to all you loverly ladies
Just lost my big post - gist was good luck to all!
Did POAS yesterday and it was negative and then this morning and i got a faint pink line but i am not getting over excited in case it is the last of the pregnyl. BT friday morning.
has anyone else found that they are (ahem) passing more gas (ahem) than usual?
my husband wants to kick me out of bed i'm sure!
In summary, good luck with epu/ultrasounds/follies/hubbies/blasties/frosties etc.
 for you all
Emma
Jaxi- All the best for tomorrow.
JBM- Glad you and DH are talking again and hope you are feeling better.
Mindhugs- Great results for you, just remember it only takes 1 egg. I was bloated after EPU but it only lasted a few days. Just rest and take it easy.
Mollygirl1977- Hi to you.
EmmaPenguin- Congrats on your faint line, :crossfingers: it stays for you. Good Luck for BT on Friday.
AFM Acupuncture went really well tonight, I felt so relaxed when I left and the therapist was really nice. I would recommend her. :crossfingers: she is successful for me. this is the cycle for me.
:goodluck: to all
:grouphug:
