Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
Thanks Positively :). I am so torn as what to do after transfer....I rested really well in the past which gave me my BFPs, but then I heard moving a lot is good too like you've said, to aid the blood circulation. I have a close friend who pretty much did everything BUT rested after her transfer and she still got pg, so you just never know I suppose. Twins would be scary!! lol. I seriously don't think I could cope with two haha. My OH's daughter has 2 yo twin boys and geez they are a handful (gorgeous but into everything!). She's about to add to her little brood in late May, I think she's now worried as is her DH, how they will cope with 3 under 3 lol. She is only 29 and she's still got plenty of energy, when I think of myself I think, no way!! lol.

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
Juniper could you please put me down as waiting for af. I am taking this month off trying to lose weight I have put on 10kg and if I could
not fall pg before extra weight is definitely not going to help at all. Puppy is gorgeous but really needs to be toilet trained asap cause its driving me
crazy lol. I know I just started trying to lose weight but think I might have a few drinks later. Today was baby's due date so not that happy today
and dh just does not say anything at all about it, he does not even remember today was her due date:-( I guess like everything else I just have to
deal with it by myself in my own way, men are inconsiderate pigs sometimes well mine is at least. Sorry for the ***** hope everyone is going well
in there cycle xxxx
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
Eeek 3 littlies under 3 now that's scary! I am with you Miss B I think twins would be really difficult but then with struggling to conceive I will be so grateful to be given 2. My Nan is a twin so who knows i guess
1 more - oh hun big hugs to you on this difficult day, sending lots of love and light to you too! I bet DH is thinking about it just not saying anything men deal with things so differently to the way us women do.
My DH does think about it we have been walking out at night a few times and he has said i wonder what they would be doing now etc? he is a good communicator though so happy to say what he is thinking so i really do think all men think it they just dont voice it :(
Have a drink for me please!! im in the 2 week wait so no drinkies for me
AFM - we are off to Adelaide tomorrow morning the trip was planned as we had Rolling Stones tixs but that is now on hold...so sad. Anyway still looking forward to our 4 night break as once i get back it's only a week before AF arrives and we start a FET cycle
so i might not be on much over the next few days but I am always thinking of you all so GL Ladies, all the best xx
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
Rai, those milestone dates are always hard. Hope you can find some comfort to get you through the rest of the day. I'm working on the weight issue too (cutting out refined sugars and reducing intake of highly processed foods), but allowed myself some treats at our niece's 1st birthday party on Sunday and a little wine last night (first drink in weeks). As long as it's a "treat" rather than a daily thing, don't stress over it. xx

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
Awww, big hugs 1 more please . Most men just don't pay attention to dates etc, I agree, either that or they just keep it to themselves, just like everything else I suppose. When it comes to my first born's EDD or more importantly the actual birthday, he rarely remembers. I usually end up asking 'do you know what day is today?' and he usually gives me that silly 'what are you talking about' look. Men!
Positively, have a lovely time away hun. I can't wait for you to do your FET! We were almost in sync :) Haha about the twins. I would have loved the twins to begin with (that would have been IT for me) considering my age, but now imagining juggling newborn twins with my existing DS at MY age would be almost impossible to imagine lol. My mum is a twin so I sort of new it would skip me anyways. Is that how it works, it skips a generation?

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
Okay Miss B you've given me the courage to post:) out of nowhere (sort of) we have decided to do a FET this month! I am currently CD 6 with my first blood test on Sunday which will be CD 9. We are doing an unmedicated cycle - EXCEPT that my FS now uses Clomid from day 2 - day 6. So I'm taking that. We will be transferring a single day 5 blastie (hopefully)! We have one on ice and on day 3 they will defrost two others and then if all three make it - they will decide which one to put back on the day. I'm pretty regular so I'm guessing transfer day will be CD19 so Wednesday April 2. I'm terrified it won't work. There will be no more fresh cycles. We have 1 day 5 blastie in the freezer and 7 day 3's of varying quality (none are bad quality which is good). I fell pg on my first FET last time - I couldn't have a fresh transfer due to OHSS. One blastie and we ended up with identical twins!
So I'm a little terrified of ending up with twins again..... does anyone know where Clomid increase the chances of identical twins? We will only be putting the one embie back....
Miss B in so excited! It seems we may be cycling together? Are you putting one or two embies back? Hello to everyone else and sorry for just barging in. I've been too scared to post at all but as it is now all becoming real, I'd really appraised the support! I am a bit out of Practise so I hope I am posting in the right place? If I'm not please just let me know....
To everyone else that is cycling I wish you the best of luck! It's a heart wrenching journey. I should also say - I do feel bad about coming back here because I already have 4 beautiful children... I guess we just didn't feel finished. So I hope that fact won't make you think I'm selfish or anything, I'd like to be here to support everyone else as well. Xx
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
thirdtimelucky, the clomid should only increase your risk of twins if you BD at O time... ;) If your blast is going to split like last time, it's not going to be a result of the clomid... The clomid may also bring forward your O day (it did for me for 2 out of 3 clomid cycles). GL with your FET!!
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
Quick question- has anyone had a late AF, the cycle after a stim?
I am over a week late for AF (nope, not pregnant).
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
Emma, O was generally about a week late for me in the cycle after a stim cycle. That, in turn, made the cycle about a week longer... It's not uncommon to have a late O or even an annov cycle as a result of the stress the stims put on the ovaries.
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
Thanks juniper you superstar! I'm actually hoping the Clomid does bring forward O! Interestingly as soon as I started taking the Clomid I had a mega bleed - period and then the bleeding actually has pretty much stopped which is rare for me on day 6! Does the Clomid actually help with a FET do you think?
Thanks in advance and no icing think being is a good idea. We don't want another set of twins xx
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
thirdtimelucky, I think the main reason they use clomid is to "make sure" (ha ha, considering some patients don't respond to it at all) the patient O's within a reasonable timeframe - so I suspect it's just a timing thing. Our first FET I was offered clomid because we were doing it in December and would have to cancel if I O'd too late. I turned it down because I had awful s/e with it and was fortunate to O in time for the FET to go ahead (just barely). I don't know of any other benefit, but that doesn't mean there aren't any. If you ask your Dr about it, I'd be interested to hear what is said! Just one thing - you will want to make sure you get a lining check before transfer to make sure the clomid hasn't thinned your lining, as that's one of its s/e (usually only after a few cycles in a row of using it, but worth checking in case you're one of the "lucky" ones that thins more quickly).
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
Oh my gosh I'm so excited for you 3rd time lucky!!!! I hope our FET's work, cross everything. I wish I had more embies but we only have one day 3 embie on ice, hopefully thawing out nicely. I would be over the moon if I got my BFP, I'm hoping we don't have to do another stim (would be our absolute last). I'm so glad you decided to have a go. I wish you all the luck in the world darling, will be keeping everything crossed for you. As juniper already answered your question about clomid, don't DTD if you don't want multiple eggies fertilising, knowing your luck with the first embie splitting up though.....lol hope it doesn't happen again if you don't want it to. Good luck sweetie! Xx
Emma, I hope you're pg!!

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
Asses miss B your message mde me cry - damn Clomid! I have a feeling the fat we are cycling together will bring us luck! As for bding one tube is completely blocked and the other ovary was removed due to a cyst so that ichances of natural conception would be almost zero I reckon!
Also apart from not being able to handle any more twinnies - know that we have identicals, I don't think I would want to have fraternals I'm so sorry if that sounds selfish to all you ladies who would give anything just for a baby or babies... My intention is not to hurt or judge, it's just that we found twins very difficult.. And I don't think we could handle 6 kids! Although we have agreed that if we end up with multiples again we will definitely be going ahead with the pregnancy (I hate even mentioning selective reduction but it was a very real medical consideration for us lat time due to me having twin to twin transfusion syndrome.
Wow girls I am so happy to be back here. I was so afraid of how I would be received, so thank you for making me feel so welcome:)
Juniper would it be okay for me to be added to the list? As for the Clomid! Wow I didn't even know it could affect your lining! I have always had really good, normal lining so I will be devastated if the Clomid negatively affects that! Btw whatnis considered normal lining anyway? And is the thickness of your lining affected/ dictated by the heaviness of your period? I only ask because this period has been shorter by about 3 days than my normal period's were I don't take Clomid.... I'm praying for transfer on or before April 2 - as all the FS at my clinic go to a conference on the 3rd of April and I think there is only one FS covering everyone. And I really want my own FS, he's been my OB, gynae and now FS for 12 years - he retired as an OB 3 months before the twins were delivered by c- section, but my new OB invited him to come along and assist with the c- sect delivery of the girls and it was so amazing just to have him there:) He's like my guardian angel I will be bitterly disappointed if he cannot do my transfer....
Wow miss B so does that mean today is transfer day for you today!! I hope everything goes amazingly, brilliantly and perfectly well and that your little embie snuggled in tightly. Is it a day 3 or a day 5 transfer bunny?
I will now read back and familiarize myself with everyone in here so I can do persies next time....
Love and peace dan
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
thirdtimelucky, it's been a while since I took clomid, but I think it can make your AF shorter. I wouldn't worry too much about that correlating with your lining thickness. Odds are, your lining will be fine in your first clomid cycle, but you want to check it to be sure. You'd want to check it even if it was a natural cycle...
