Will be thinking of you today Glorious.. Fingers crossed for lots of good eggies Xx
Kate, hi and welcome!
Rai, good luck, l hope the levels are increasing nicely :)
Glorious, good luck, l hope you get lots of good quality eggs :)
AFM, went to the clinic for a bt, l hope they tell me the hcg dropped to zero and l dont need another bt, we will see later.
Hi everyone else :)
Hi ladies- restarting our IVF journey after a few months off.
FS had recommended a lap, hysteroscopy an test for NKC.
2 options- have it done privately with her.... 6k out of pocket with no PHI.
Or go on the waiting list at the royal women's.
any ideas on the wait times?
OR
If I take out PHI- will this be classed as a pre- existing condition?
What would the wait times be like for that?
Emma, would you believe I have had this very conversation this morning!
I had an appointment with a new OB/GYN late last week and she recommended a lap for endo for me (to help with pain and IVF). She recommended Prof Martin Healy and to get it done end of the year (after I lose some more weight). I dont have PHI so I rang his rooms this morning for a "price list". His receptionist was lovely. She quoted $6k without PHI but Prof Healy also heads the Gyn. team at the RWH. She said I could go on the public list (no guarantee he will do it, but there is a good possibility) and the wait is about 3 months. She said it is a "good list" and the wait times are accurate.
I am about to ring my PHI (I have extras but not hospital) to ask about pre-existing, etc, but I am pretty sure it would be classed as pre-existing and wait times are usually 12 months. Will let you know how I go.
Wonderful!
Thanks :)
I think we will have to go public- I woul have preferred my own FS- but thems the breaks :(
NK cell testing can be done by a biopsy in rooms too. That's how i had mine tested.
Yeah- if my FS does the surgery- she would do it at the same time.... If I go public- it's a separate procedure.

Emma I'm so sorry I honestly don't know so I will leave it to someone who does but want send you hugs xxx
afm: First I would love to thank all you wonderful ladies for your well wishes with my bt today it was honestly greatly appreciated.
I have rang my fs oh about 5 times to get the stupid results and I still don't have them so not happy. I will be ringing first thing in the
morning again:-(
Emma I am wondering if you could try and get the PHI as a selling point -- ie ill buy our product if you make it without a waiting list. This is what I want... Can you give it to me, cause I will go wherever I can get it.
.... Or call Iselect and see if they can find a product with someone who is prepared to waive the waiting periods....
Just a thought :)
I got 5 eggs. transfer will be friday if all goes well.. another sick day ( I will look unreliable, but it has to be done)
Find out tomorrow how many if any fertilise..
Thanks Myturn... I think ill ring tomorrow :)
Good luck glorious with your fertilising rates!
I've been researching and it would be considered a pre-existing condition so the waiting would be 12 months.
To get obstetric/assisted conception/reproductive stuff covered you need to get top level cover which, for families is about $3,500 a year.
GL glorious hope all those eggies fertilize :)
Good luck Glorious, l hope all of them fertilise :)
AFM, l got the bt results hcg levels 5.7 The nurse said that is considered negative, and l dont need to have another bt, is that ok? Or you guys would ask for another bt say for example on Friday to make sure it dropps to zero?
CatyO, if it would make you feel better, I'd ask to go back for another. Like myturn, I'd always thought below 5 was considered negative, but that's pretty darn close to being there and I'd personally be okay with stopping. I actually never had b/t monitoring of my hcg levels after either of my m/c. When the chem pg was predicted (ie hcg had dropped to 81 from previous test of 105) I was just told to come back in 2 weeks if I hadn't started bleeding; the FS did no further b/t. After the d&c I just had a 6 week post-op appt, no b/t, but I did test out the hcg with HPTs and would have called the OB if they hadn't gone negative.
N2L, we're on second top cover and our family annual premium was just over $4k this year! I'd hate to imagine how much it would be for the top cover! But it has always covered everything I needed for IVF and the laps. We had the policy as a single only (DH just had the minimum required to avoid extra tax) until DD was born and then switched to family.
it is below 5 is neg.
I just got a message and all 5 have fertilised!! now for them to split and do their thing ;)
Very good news glorious!
The nurse did say 5, below 5 is negative but 5.7 is very close, so we will consider it negative.
I had a hpt this morning and still showed a faint second line, l think l will test again on friday just with a hpt.
Great news Glorious! :)

afm: just got my results back and really happy at 4 weeks 2 days my hcg is 1130 and progesterone is 86!!!!!!!!
Wow congratulations Rai great numbers x
Rai, WOW they are great looking numbers honey! Yay for moving to BFP section on the listy Xx
Glorious, Well done on all 5 eggs fertilizing. Fingers crossed they continue to progress nicely Xx
Bunny, How are you going? Are you tempted to POAS yet?
AFM, The clinic just called and had a chat to me about whether we would like to transfer just one or both our embryos this cycle. They are recommending that if they can get my lining good enough for a transfer that we use both our blasts. They said it would take our chance of success from 39% to 57%... But obviously with that also comes the risks of twins. All that said of our two embryos one is a 'good' day 5 blast.. The other was a slower progressing embryo frozen at day 6. So maybe it's not worth just transferring one and then potentially have to go through another cycle again with only a lower grade embryo??
Any thoughts ladies... I never really thought about how hard this decision could be...
Rai, congrats!
Joe, just me and my messed up sleep patterns... I posted that just before going to bed...
Jasmine, it all depends on whether the risk of twins is acceptable to you. If you really don't want twins, you're better off using just the one. The fact that the slower one was good enough to freeze says a lot, so I wouldn't give up on it just yet!
Jasmine, I agree with Juniper. Either or both could give you your BFP! GL with whatever you decide :) No POAS as I onw did my last Pregnyl shot last Saturday gone so would probably give me a false positive. So I'm going to hang on. Think my test will be next Saturday. This wk better not drag!!
Jasmine i would be more worried about higher order multiples then twins, with one embryo twins is still a possibility. for me i have always said coping with twins i could do as i have 2 breasts and 2 hands, any more and i need another person ;) But that is a decision only you and your DP can make.
Glorious how are your embies doing?
I haven't heard yet... eagerly waiting news. they had close to record EPU's yesterday with 24(28 being their one day record) so i am guessing their embryology unit is busy ;) I am glad that they will text me and then i can look at them online :) we are taking the kids to the drive in tonight hopefully to celebrate.
I had to explain to DH the process again this morning as he had thought that when i said last night they had all been fertilised that i meant they were just ready for it, so he is happy his swimmers did the job of getting through ;)
Wow you can actually view yours? That sounds amazing. We don't have that facility at our lab wish we did!
the news is in all have been fertilised normally.... i had kind of guessed that by last night but obviously that wasn't what it meant. Pictures are not up yet (not exactly sure when they put them up.
Bunnyfeet our clinic are right into using online info ;) so it is nice to access all the info as many times as i want/need ;)
Just sneaking in to say congratulations Rai excellent numbers, enjoy a happy healthy 9 mths xo
