Hi ladies
Sorry been out of the loop for a while.
Juniper - so sorry last cycle of iui didn't work for you again. What's next?
Jasmine - omg bleeding so early after transfer - that sux! I had that happen my first ivf cycle & dr had no reason for me either. I would personally only put one embryo back as twos are high risk pregnancy. Usually they are born 8 weeks early and there is high risk of one or both having complications including cp. My dr has advised us against it. He did say if I was over 40 or had poor quality embryos or 3 day embryos I could.
Rai - congrats Hun! Fantastic news.
Bunny feet - hope this week goes quickly for you & a Bfp is coming your way
Glorious - gl with your 5 embies growing up nice & strong for Friday.
Hi to everyone else.
Afm - saw dr last week & have been told we will get pregnant we just have to keep trying! I am allowed to do natural fet cycle again as that's how I got my Bfp. Had scan Wednesday & my lining was 7 so was very happy. Had another scan Friday & it had got thinner again down to 6.3. Grr! Was told I had already ovulated but to take trigger just in case & start progynova sat. So I have done that & am praying my lining has decided to get thicker again. Having scan tomorrow morning & if lining is 7 or above I can have transfer tomorrow afternoon. If not another cancelled cycle. I spoke to my dr about having 2 put back in but he strongly advised against it. Think ill put one for the next 2 cycles then the last 2 can go in together (hopefully we don't need to use them all).
-
Big congrats Rai! Hope you have happy & healthy 9 months ahead xxx
-
Rai, congrats honey, great looking numbers!
Beau, GL with your scan tomorrow, hopefully you can have your transfer :)
Glorious, yay for all eggies fertilising nicely!
Jasmine, my FS was always against having 2 embryos transferred due to the possibility of multiple pg. Personally, I would be scared to transfer 2 as I would be freaking out in case both of them took. With my first pg, I had a 5 day old blastie transferred and it took. With my second FET, the embryo was a 6 day old embryo, and on day 5 it wasn't doing much (I think it arrested) but started diving again on day 6 and it was frozen. That's my 3 year old DS. So even if the second embie you'll be putting in isn't fantastic, it can still take, so you could end up with twins. For me personally, I don't think I could cope with twins after my singleton pg, so I couldn't have 2 put back in. But it's a very personal choice, so GL with that decision.
Emma, good to see you back in the game!! GL sweetie :)
Hello to everyone else, sorry that's as far as I can read the posts.
AFM, just plodding along, this cycle seems to be taking forever. Mid August can't come quickly enough....
-
Rai-Congratulations! I am very happy to hear this good news.
Glorious- It is great, five embryos are fertilised.
Jasmine- My FS said it only increases about 5% chance for making pregnancy by putting 2 embryos in. If you are really worried for having twins, maybe just put one and like Juniper said don't give up on the day 6 one and Miss. B has experience for a day 6 embryo making pregnancy.
I went to see Dr. Shlomi Barak yesterday for second appinion, he gave me some test to do such as chlamydia, gomorrhoea, ureaplasma and mycoplasma and suggest me to do Hysteroscopy and Laparoscopy as well. Hysteroscopy and Laparoscopy are expensive ( It is about $3000 in total). I don't know I need it or not. If I do that, how long I have to rest before I start the other cycle for IVF. Does anyone give me any idea for this? Thanks
-
Hey girlies :-) just a quick one from me saying hello xo
I'm still here lol.
Welcome to Kate and a big congratulations to rai! Xxx
That's awesome numbers!
Juniper can u please put me down in 2ww at 5dpo? Thanks hun :-)
I've been popping the bitc#y making Clomid again! Ugh I swear it's the last time though! .... No more! Every time I have done a Clomid cy I think I'm going to be fine and then the moods kick in and I wonder why?! Ha!
But hey I'm still kicking lol.
Best of luck girlies I hope to see some graduates in here this month :-) xo
-
Rai- huge congratulations! Yippy.
-
Lots going on. I'll have to get on the laptop tomorrow for persies.
Such strong ladies in here!

Bestrong, I didn't think I needed a laparoscopy but I am glad they did as they found severe endometrosis and a very infected left tube which they removed, I had no symptoms at all. They believe that this procedure will now improve my chances conceiving via ivf. Recovery can vary between people, I had mine4 weeks ago and I am ok but still just taking it easy. I think as far as staring another cycle goes, it will depend on when your cycle gets back to normal, after my first lap, I missed a month altogether, after this second one, I am now one week late already. But I think it is all worth the wait if I have a better chance now to conceive. I don't mean to scare you as they may find nothing wrong at all but at least then you will know.
-
Bestrong- I'm being booked in for a lap and hysto too.
After 5 failed cycles with no explanation- I'm happy to have the procedures in the hope that they may find something that may explain embryos not implanting.
I also don't have any symptoms to indicate endometriosis, aside from embryos not implanting.
-
I am amazed my lining was 7.5mm so transfer is happening at 11am this morning! I was all ready for more disappointment & dressed for work.
Bestrong - I had lap & hyst before we started any treatment. I felt that I wanted everything to be checked out. If there was a reason to why we couldn't get pregnant I wanted it fixed. There was nothing found. I was sore for a week or so but fine after that. Pretty sure we could try naturally cycle after. We didn't start assisted for another 2 months after that.
-
Good luck Beau! Welcome to the tww :)

Bestrong, I had my first lap and hysteroscopy around O time and was able to start suppression for IVF in the following cycle (started synarel at 7dpo, so about 6 weeks after the lap, EPU was 2 months after the lap). The immediate recovery will depend on how much work is done - if they find nothing it should be quick (1-2 days), but if there is endo or a tube that needs to be removed it's more like 1-2 weeks. I had a lot of endo removed and needed 8 days to recover before I was fit to return to work (desk job).
-
Thanks all for your advice regarding how many embryos we should transfer this cycle. DP and I had a long talk about it last night and will discuss it further with our FS at our next appointment.
Beau- yay for a 7.5 lining... Got to be happy with that!! GL in the TWW... I have everything crossed for you.
Beestrong- Sorry can't answer your question about the lap. GL
S4K- I'm on clomid this cycle too... I hate the stuff!! Fingers crossed for good news at the end of your TWW.
Glorious- Wow that's very cool that you can view your embies online! Hope they are all still progressing nicely.
MissB- Boo to this cycle going slowly for you... Hope time flies by from now till mid August! It will be so exciting for you once you finally get to tx after having to wait do long!
AFM- took my last clomid tablets today (yay!). Off for my first lining scan on Friday. I havn't had any bleeding / spotting since AF so I'm feeling cautiously optermistic about this cycle :)
-
I hope it's ok that I join this thread, I have worked my way through the other 2 TTC groups and while we have only been trying for 8 months, after a long chat with my fs this morning we are starting our ivf journey on Monday next week with lots of tests and information gathering.
We have been living remotely for years and only recently moved to the coast for work and access to medical support. From what I gather there is no waiting list at the hunter ivf, where I will be going, so the process could start as early as week 2 in August.
I am currently cd10 of the last clomid cycle (thank goodness). Looking forward to sharing this journey with you. ;)
-
Welcome Mrs O'M :) GL for your IVF cycle. You'll get lots of support and advice from all the amazing ladies on here!
-
-
Welcome Mrs O'M. The women here are so supportive & full of knowledge. Hope your stay here is short.
Well had one 5 day embryo transferred about half hour ago. Clinic was running very late. They had to defrost 2 as the first one didn't survive. I'm a bit upset about that as its never happened before & now we only have 2 left. Anyway Juniper can you please add me back onto the list as CD 20 0 days past 5 day embryo transfer.
-
Beau- Yay for being PUPO!! Bugger about the first embryo not thawing ok but fingers crossed this little snowflake sticks and your not going need the 2 remaining frosties Xx
Mrso'M- Welcome! Great bunch of ladies in here with loads of good advice when you have questions and lots of supportive words for the rough bits. GL with your last round of clomid. Are you just BD or doing an iui cycle?
-
Thanks Jasmine. Hopefully your are not too far away from being in tww with me. I drank a fair bit of raspberry leaf tea in last few days in hope for my lining to thicken. It had but of course I can't tell why.
-
Beau, I didnt know raspberry leaf tea helps with the lining. Where can I buy it from?
-
I just brought it from t2. Drank 3 cups a day since Friday. I asked my acupuncturist to make sure it was ok to drink. She said only to drink it until day before transfer. She also recommended I drink ginger tea to try stay warm. I just added some ginger to my raspberry leaf tea. Your lining was fine last month though before your transfer so it may not help you hun. I was also taking herbs from my acupuncturist. I stopped taking them yesterday too & didn't mention anything to my fs clinic about it.
-
Welcome Mrs O'M, good luck with your upcoming cycle!! Beau fingers crossed Hun!
-
Welcome Mrs O'M! All the staff are wonderful at HIVF. Let's hope your time here is short & sweet xx
-
Oh my, I can't keep up with all the chatter in here! lol.
First of all, I'm sorry I forgot to say 'Hi!' to Kate. I hope your IVF journey is very short :crossfingers: Welcome to out little corner of the forum :)
Beau, fantastic news about your transfer!!! GL in your 2WW hunni. I will be stalking, and of course living precariously through you lol.
Welcome Mrs O'M! I wish you all the best with your IVF.
Hi Sarah! Welcome back hun :) Kinda missed ya in here, hope your stay is a short one x
AFM, I have my FS appointment tomorrow morning to discuss the FET. I'll update tomorrow.
Hi to everyone else :)

For those that have used dhea, did it make you start putting on weight? I go to WW and am running every day. Had weigh in tonight & I put on 1kg in the last week alone. I was gutted as I had put in a really good week. The dhea is the only new thing I am taking at the moment :(
-
Joe my friend took it for 3 months don't think she ever actually weighted herself but she put bit of weight on round her middle
-
Joe, that's an interesting theory. I've been taking it since February. I have gained a lot of weight in that time, but I had thought it was just the prednisone (steroid, I'm taking it every second cycle). I desperately need to lose some weight, so I might need to take a break from the DHEA as well this cycle in case it's both meds contributing to the weight gain?
-
Dhea is used to help with weight loss. I highly doubt it would be the cause of weight gain.

Thanks Kel, Beau, Juniper and Emma, I am going to book Lap & Hyst. tomorrow, if I still can book in for this month, I will do it. Next month I am planning to go overseas and after I came back I want to start my stimulation cycle and I might want to froze embryos (because I feel separate egg collection and transfer, I cope progesterone better, but I take the risk for losing embryos). If I have any problems such as endo. and tubes, it will not affect my egg collection, I am right?
Beau, your lining is good and hope you will have BFP soon.
Welcome Mrs O'M
Anyway, Juniper, do you have any doctors to recommand in Mel. to me?
-
MissB- How did your appointment go? Xx
Bunny- I am counting down the days till your BT on Saturday... Have everything so tightly crossed that you get good news Xx
AFM- Getting a little anxious about my scan tomorrow. I really hope my lining is cooperating this cycle! Any ideas how thick my lining should 'ideally' be on CD10?

Jasmine, I'm not sure what the Drs want to see. Mine is always about 13mm by that stage, but I've never had to worry about thin lining....
N2L, thanks for that! Maybe I should take the full 75mg I'm meant to be taking (in my rest cycles) and see what happens?
-
Jasmine - lining can change alot. I have had a measurement of 6.3mm on day 13 then 2 days later it was 8. I don't think they really care about the measurement until you are surging.
-
N2L - I had a look at that link & it said that there is insufficient evidence to declare it for use in weight loss & Juniper it said that the use of dhea & corticosteroids could be counterproductive as the corticosteroids make the body produce less dhea. So I guess that as long as you are taking a high enough dose it shouldn't be too bad. Also said it shouldn't be used in people with pcos! Hopefully the benefits will out weigh the bad & I can get on top of this weight loss :)
-
Hi ladies,
Well my appointment went OK this morning. Because my cycles are a bit all over the place ATM, I have to take 3 progynova tablets daily to thicken up my lining on CD1 and 2 progesterone pessaries morning and night, when I have my FET. I've only had one FET cycle with my wee man but that was a natural cycle, so this one is a bit of a shock to the system :( The FS said that the progesterone pessaries a bit expensive....any idea of the cost ladies? Anyway, apparently I have a grade A embryo, and the other two are a grade B and one a grade C. So I'm hoping like mad that the grade A one thaws out OK..
Jasmine, GL with your scan tomorrow :crossfingers:
Bunnyfeet, are you tempted to test anytime soon? ;)
Hi to everyone else :hello:
-
Pressaries cost me about $60 for 15 of them ( I have a couple left in the fridge with the price on them) private health said that if they were listed as being for HRT they would have covered some of the cost, so see what the label is on the tax invoice and FX your health insurance company can help out. Mine were not listed like that so I got nothing back. Bit stupid really... Seeing they are a hormone... Clearly if you are taking them its to replace the hormone you don't have....
-
I'm taking those pessaries but not sure of cost Miss B as its included in ivf cost. Sounds like you've got really good quality frosties! So when will your FET be? GL with the journey fx for you. I was tempted to test yday but im scared ill still have hcg from injection and get false positive! Just one more day to wait so I'm gonna hang on!
