Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception - June #1

Ohhhh this is just terrible... at 4.30 I woke up because I just couldnt take the coughing and chocking anymore.... I have to work all day today and heaps of work to catch up on tonight... and instead of sleeping I m sitting here coughing up a lung or 2........ and I dont even smoke anymore :(

Paula.... Hold in there girl... not long now till Monday.... I ll be logging on all day to see how you go.

tiggerlinda.... hmmm dont say a heck of a lot about you ... do you... ;)

MeredithD... I think we need to call it something else.... not that my creative side is working to well inbetween the runny nose, the coughing and sneezing... but I m sure we can come up with something instead of TWW....Maybe the chill out room :dunno:

well i got the bug from the boys didn't i ! and had it 3 times worse.
throwing up and in bed since tue night. was not a good look. but you all know me, the positive side is i lost 3 kg this week!.
feeling bit better today, then af started.
well we decided to give it another month til froz tfer as i just need to get some strength back.

AFM: Had my EPU yesterday morning and got 6 eggs. Doesn't seem like enough to me so I'm not sure if I'm excited or worried that there isn't enough. My doc said quality not quantity but I can't help but feel worried. I get fertilisation results tomorrow morning so I'll post again then.

PS: Very sore from the EPU...very sore :(

Tiger Gal - 6 eggies is good sweet better than OHSS and I don't even get that many.

AB - Not alot going on with me at the moment so not much to tell

Me have a cold and Bronchitis so hoping it goes away very soon. Last day of the pill is on Thurs so we are underway again then

Well my weight is now only a kilo off normal which I am very happy about. I am feeling 100% better than I was, I never want to experience OHSS again! I took my last Provera tablet today so AF should arrive in the next couple of days.

Trying to scrape together the money to pay for the last cycle, how do people afford to keep doing this time and time again? Thank god FET's are cheaper than full IVF cycles, finding 8k upfront is ridiculously difficult.

Hey Ladies, thought it was about time I joined this thread as I have been lucking for many months.
This is my first IVF cycle so any advise or knowledge is greatly appreciated.

Had bloods and US done this morning and had a total of 10 follicles:-
(my dosage is 125 Peregon and using Orgalutran)
Right Ovary - 20.2, 16.2, 16.0, 13.4 and 11.6
Light Side - 21.6, 16.2, 15.5, 15.3 and 13.5
Endometrium measured at 7.4
The nurse will call back this afternoon to discuss further dosages. She also gave me the Ovidrel for latter in the week and two lots of Pessaries.
I hope this all looks good, the nurse still thinks EPU will be Friday...
I look forward to sharing our journeys together, and will pop in latter and check how you are going on....

Well I am not sure if this is good news or bad news??? I am so confused.
Got our fertilisation results and they are as follows:
6 eggs collected
5 suitable (ICSI)
4 fertilised
3 look suitable for a transfer

Just spoke to my nurse and she said the scientists are pushing for a day 3 transfer which means transfer is tomorrow...

I was always told that I was to ahve a day 5 transfer which looks like most of you girls have had. Is a day three transfer less sucessful? Does this mean I won't have any embryo's to freeze?

OMG I am so confused, I feel like my body has failed me. My nurse said we need to be guided by the scientists and experts.

Has anyone had or heard of anyone with success with a day 3 transfer???? I hope so.

Tigergal..... I had 10 and 3 fertilized through ICSI.. Pick up was on Friday and transfer was on Monday. We decided to transfer 2 and the third was not strong enough to freeze. Both of our s stuck. and for a period of time I had my beautiful twins.... goodness your tummy grows quickly with twins... but anyway... I digress..... Dont stress over it girl... your FS is the one who knows the size and how well your little bollies are going... Absolute best of wishes to you for tomorrow. Tiger Gal - Sweet those numbers fit in the 50% ratios so it is good day 3 transfer is not a bad thing sometimes the embies don't like the solution remeber your embies are best inside you sweet good luck for transfer hun. You may not get a frostie but you also may not need one :P :hug:

AFM, i finally stopped spotting on Saturday after a whole week of it. Totally drove me insane. I had another BT today to check my hormone levels again and all back to normal. All traces of HCG are gone. So now i just have to wait to see FS on Friday and see what he would like to do with DH and I. We are going to Europe for three weeks on 21st August so im kind of worried that we arent going to have time to fit in another cycle. If not, never mind Ill just enjoy my trip and use it as complete relaxation time and get straight back into it when we get back!

Hey Ladies, bloods are in E2 is at 4807..which more than doubles fridays results of 1559.
FS said that he is happy with the result bases on follie sizes.
Will be back in on Wednesday for another Blood and US.
Is it bad that the E2 has doubled in the last couple of days?? I am so confused??

Janie71: Thanks for your kind words too, it seems like 3 day transfer is quite normal. I guess being my first time, I thought we had to go by what was told to us in counselling etc but I guess the rules change for each person

Thought I might put my head in I started my first Gonal-F injection today and was not painful * I have a fear of needles lol* i have had 5 failed rounds of clomid I have PCOS and do no ovulate I have been put on Gonal in hope that I can produce an eggy!!

you're not kidding about how busy it's been for everyone this week. I'm still waiting for AF (day 34 of current cycle) so I can start my down cycle. Most of the time it never fazed me if I didn't see it, but it's when you just want to move on that the days seem to drag on.

Miss K - I'm hearing ya on the whole needle thing but it's really not that bad. I'd be sick for days before them, pass out whilst having BT & then need to recover for the rest of the day after any needle. However, with the help of Emla (emla.com.au) for the BTs & trigger & the recommendation from the ladies here to use ice to numb the area, I'm slowly getting over my fear & ready for my 2nd ICSI. I even agreed to the flu shot this year....

Anyway, :grouphug: to everyone

Wow busy day in here lets start o my me moment have yucky full blown bronchial issues :rolleyes: so FS wants me on the pill for one more week. Then we can start drugs. Better to be healthy I suppose. DH's birthday won't be an issue now but still calling in OMDHD (Operation Make DH a Daddy) for those who don't read my blog.

Ended up having BT this afternoon as had some spotting last night, although it seems to have dissappered from this morning on so have no idea whatmy body is doing. Will get the results tomorrow. AFM..... well I went to the accupunturist today... NOT easy......As soon as I walked in there I started choking.... Then she started pinning me... it was as if my body just went ENOUGH..... (note... accupunture needles are NOT needles... cause I have my eyes closed the whole time... I have never seen one)... anyway.. each one that was put in HURT and because I stuffed my leg up at the gym 4 weeks ago she had to do my back as well. So there I am...laying there on my tummy..... pins in everywhere... and I feel a cough coming on... now on the tips of the needle she burns a herb... so I have burning stuff on top.... and this cough is coming on ... ... I tense up completely... and next thing I m making all these animal type noises coughing but trying not to... freaking out that these things that are burning on these pins are going to fall on me then I m going to jump up with needles in me... ohhhh it wasnt pretty... how she sat there without laughing herself silly I dont know. :rofl:

Well I m off to bed now... time for a repeat of last night... not that DH knows... ahhh but he will in about 5 minutes ;)

Well Af arrived this morning before the results were in. So yet another BFN for me.They have suggested that we move onto IUI. We are going to take some time out and have a break until after we come back from queensland in october. Two reasons i cant take it anymore I am getting to the point that I dont want it. I have been doing back to back stim cycles for more than six months without a break and two I am working full time next term so It is not fair on Campbell or me. I am glad we are taking a break it will give us time to think about the IUI as we were both very against anything more invaisinve then OI. We have our beuatiful boy who was concieved naturally so perhaps we are not meant to have anymore babies. this is were we are at the moment so As YOu can see I need some time away.
I just want to thank everyone for their kind words and support. I wish you all well in the furture and hope with all my heart you get your BFP. Maybe I will see you in here in the future ( But hopefully not, hopefully you dont have to wait that long>)

Nicole S: How did you go with your E2 levels, any news on if the number is good or not? I'd love to know as like AB, I have no idea what the level should be.

AFM: Had our transfer successfully yesterday morning, all smooth. Got a picture of our 8 cell embryo. Embryologist said all three were behaving very well so it wasn't difficult to choose which one to go in. Looks like we will have two to freeze but will need to wait until nurse phones today to see what happened.

I started the Crinone gel last night, lovely......

Looks like I'm off to the TWW thread for now, I guess I need to introduce myself to a whole new group of people. Anyway, I'll be testing on 30/6 so :crossfingers: until then.

I'll be checking in on this thread everyday so hope to hear some good news very soon.

AFM, I picked up my Progynova today. Start on it tomorrow and have first scan to check lining on 26th. So I am happy that we are able to get the ball rolling again, it is the only way I can cope with the BFN from last cycle.

MissK I never had any side effects from any of the meds i was on and my body still reacted well to them all. Lots of women dont have side effects so dont stress about it too much. You will be right!

MeredithD im going to Europe for 3 weeks with DH and my parents. My parents are actually going for 5 weeks and we are meeting them there. Will be nice to see my HUGE family and enjoy the summer weather! Good luck with your testing. Try and keep sane for the next four days :hug:

hey all, well i finally booked in for acupuncture today, only been taking about it for 3 weeks?!
anyway i'm booked in for 2 weeks time for 1st visit. 1 hr session, lady seems optimistic about helping me.
i had a friend who just m/c, lttc but natural conception. so sad for her. so i took some mags around, chocolate( of course) and spent some time with her. dropping off some dvd's fri for her.

miss K: i didn't have may symtoms while on gonal f and syneral i saved them all up for crinone gel then got all the symtoms. hope all is ok and you not being a wuss? ha ha.good luck
