Juniper- Thanks! I called the FS and was told I am still to come in for my scan tomorrow. Was feeling really yuk about having a scan during AF so thanks for comforting me that I'm not the only one! Fx that you won't be needing your next iui cycle Xx

AFM- So I'm still going for my scan tomorrow! FS said that despite the bleeding the FSH will still be working my ovaries and so a follie scan is still in order. He said that due to the bleeding I may take longer on FSH to stim the ovaries but that would be a good thing as it will give my lining time to 'build up' again.
He said my biggest concern for this cycle is going to be my lining being too thin as I have now lost it a week into the cycle. They will give me all the meds they can to try and build it up in time but said there is a good chance that I will just be doing the EPU and then freezing any embies for use in future FET cycles! I'm still a bit bummed as I really think the odds of succes are better in a 'fresh' cycle so will be praying & praying that my lining will be thick enough :o
Started Orgalutran today (geeze that needle hurt lol), it's my first time using it as with my last ivf cycle I was on Synarel spray..

Jasmine, if your lining is too thin this cycle you'll definitely have a better chance with a FET later! There's an emerging school of thought that FETs are better because the body is less stressed after having a rest between EPU and ET. It's an especially good option for women with immune infertility issues. It's a slightly risky strategy for someone like me who only gets 2-3 viable embryos (because not all embryos survive the thaw), but it's a good option if you have more embryos to work with.

Juniper, Yeh I guess it makes sense that body is under less stress during a FET cycle.. But my biggest concern is the thaw. In my previous ivf cycle I only ended up with one viable embryo out of 6 eggs which left nothing to freeze. Fx I have more to work with this cycle.. The FS said he will do everything he can to try and get more follicles happening this time.

Thanks Jasmine :) I'm glad you're still going for a scan tomorrow. Mine is on Friday. With the FETs, my FS believes they have better success rates than the fresh transfers, and soon Monash IVF will be only doing FETs for that reason. I too was worried about the thawing out rates, but apparently the medium they are using now is so much better that the thawing out rate is around 70 - 80 %. So fingers crossed for our FETs! I'm definitely having a transfer in July with a frozen embie.

I don't think I have ever lost any in the thaw.

I came home today to a letter saying I have seven frozen embryos!!! 777777777777777777777!

This cycle has been the dream cycle so far, I just can't believe it :)

Wow so much is going on in here! I hope everyone is going ok :)

AFM - I am waiting around for my next lap next Thursday to remove all my endo and when I had my pre op last week my FS wants to take out my left Fallopian tube all together due to the extent of damage and inflammation. This really scared me hearing this as I want to make sure I make the right decision. After this lap we will try naturally for a few months but not for long as my AMH is 1.1 so I am on a bit of a tight deadline to do another stim cycle. I am leaning towards removing it and taking my dr advice as there is no point having it there if it is just being a nuisance. I still haven't got my period yet either I am four weeks late. My dr said that when he went in he had to fix up a cyst on my right ovary and because I was cd 15 this could have just stopped an egg from being released. I have been spotting the last three days but only today did I actually have to change a pad but I still really wouldn't class it as my period, no clumps or anything there when I go to the toilet (tmi I know, sorry) I just hope my cycle isn't this irregular after this next lap otherwise it will make it difficult for us to try naturally and we will be wasting time :(. Sorry for the long post everyone.

there will be no POAS here ..... I'd just die of anxiety and stress if it's not what I want, so it's not even worth it. Bad enough having a BFN.... but a BFN every day for the next 8 days.... ahhh... no thanks.... if I have to have one at all... it will be just one thankyou very much :lol:

so..... going to be VERY busy marking assignments this week (I teach an off line course, as well as my two other jobs... I know... crazy...)... so I might not be in much... I think it will be good for me as well, to just stay busy and not dwell.

Kel - I am sorry things are scary with the endo - it's a big decision you are faced :hug:

Jasmine - every Down regulation stim cycle I have to have a scan while bleeding - it's pretty bleugh.... but.... the nurses have always been really good, and the see everything and anything... so... its just another one of those undignified things we have to go through to get a little bundle. I hope that tomorrow's scan is exactly where things are supposed to be.

CatyO - good to hear you got something to freeze still! My first cycle felt like a bust - and you are further ahead than I was - out of the 4 stims I have done (prior to this one) only one of them had anything to freeze. FX you won't need it as you've got a sticky blob in there ;)

Kel, if there's a chance the tube could be compromising your fertility (eg creating a toxic environment), then best to have it gone. If it's as damaged as you say, it won't be doing you any good anyway, so there's no benefit in keeping it. It may make the recovery from the surgery a little longer, but it will save you having to have yet another surgery to remove it later and hopefully get you to your BFP more quickly.

CD1 and have to be at the FS at 5:50am tomorrow to kick off the IUI. 5:50am!! Hoping I get to sleep early tonight because I've been getting to sleep after 2am lately, so that would only give me about 2 hours sleep (getting up at 4:30am) if I do the same tonight...

AFM- Had my follie scan this morning (thanks to everyone who made me feel better about having my scan during AF). Was actually pretty happy with it as FS thinks I have about 9-10 follies!! Most were about 10-13mm and I think one was about 16mm? Go back for another scan on Monday to check on progress. At this stage they said I look to be on track for EPU next Wednesday.
Start 250units of Gonal F tomorrow :)

AFM I am under the blankets hiding from the world, I guess not having any more drugs makes me feel insecure, I feel as if I dont have any sort of soport (drugs) anymore.
So, during the 2ww we dont have any scan or blood test? How do they know if my lining is not too thin or so? Do they tell you about it, because I never heard anything about my lining.

CatyO- Don't be concerned about your lining honey.. I'm sure they would have let you know if it was too thin and they would have postponed your ET. I never had any more scans or blood tests after my ET (except obviously HCG at end of TWW). I did however use Crinone (progesterone) for the TWW but this does the same thing as the pregnal shot that you've had. Now it's just up to your little embie to get sung in there Xx

So sorry Juniper, Kerbear, Rai & Williever - it's so not fair.

CatyO - your lining is important before the transfer - yours was obviously fine for them not to say anything & perform the transfer. I have never had anymore bt or scans during tww just as Jasmine said.

Jasmine - I have only done one stimulated cycle & got 8 5day embryos. We have unfortunately used 4 now but they all thawed perfectly. I'm pretty sure the rates of not thawing is pretty low these days.

My turn - I am with you girl no poas. It's not worth the extra torture.

Kel - all the best for the lap- hope it brings help for you.

AFM- AF is still really heavy, that is 5 days now of being ridiculously heavy and bad cramps. I actually vomited at my pt last night because of the pain from my cramps, hopefully she will slow down, and a bonus I have the next 2 days off work so get to sleep in :-)
Just a question if anyone can help and sorry in advance for tmi. My last few AF's I have had troubles with my bowl motions and especially this time they haven't been normal since I started and am a little worried that it may mean something else. I haven't really thought anything of it till this time as it has been going on so long.

epayne, diarrhoea during AF was one of my endo symptoms. At my first lap, the endo was covering half my bowel (and has done substantial damage). It might be worth asking your FS about it because if it is endo it could be preventing you getting a BFP (and contrary to what my first and third FSs say, IVF does NOT bypass endo for everyone).

Jasmine, yay for a great follie scan!! The numbers look great :) I'm back to feeling not much really, this cycle is so weird!! I tend to notice the twinges at night, suppose that's when I've slowed down for the day and not running after my DS like a chook with no head, lol. I started orgalutran yesterday and my scan in on Friday, would love to know what's going on in there.

Caty, I agree about the lining, they would not let you go ahead with the FET if it was too thin. It's just a waiting game now, GL sweets!

Epayne, big hugs hun. I'm not sure about the bowel motions, but I think maybe you could discuss it with your FS?

AFM, not much is being 'registered' in this cycle, started feeling a bit more tired than normal and I've had a headache every.single. day. Yay!! Oh, and I tend to get thrush with the IVF drugs so waiting for that, lovely..Just waiting for my scan on Friday, so bloody curious what's been going on in there. At least in my other cycles I was getting bloated and 'felt' a lot more than I do now. I read in the elonva brochure that this particular drug is meant to be 'easy' the female, as in not as much discomfort as with the other FSH. But at least I knew 'something' was growing in there!! Oh well, 2 more sleeps.

Then lm laying down in bed and stretch myself and omg l have to stop, because again that sharp pain in my ovaries, must be for all the drugs, as is the first time for me... l just told my ovaries "lm sorry ovaries for putting you through all this" lol

Not great news for us today. Finally got DH's results and we get to add MFI to our list of obstacles. Apparently DH's boys are as bad as my eggs (ie high rate of chromosomally-abnormal)... :cry:

Afm- always feel a bit better by cd2. But am still gutted. Feel like I'm grieving my little bug......just don't understand. Great lining, great embryo, great progesterone, great transfer.... Bfn?Sucks!
Nothing wrong with me or DH now apparently so WTF?????????????? Might ask for a lap. Is it to soon for that? Just keep going and possibly wasting our precious embryos? No idea.

Sorry to hear that Juniper76, what about Menevit and Spermax, do they work for that sort of things? My husband had Maca tablets for a few months, and his sperm improved a lot, count, motility and morphology, but I am not sure if it would work for the chromosomally-abnormal...

The FS said there's nothing that can be done and it's not because of anything he has done (I asked if it could be diet/lifestyle/etc because DH is as overweight as me), it's just how it is. The only "treatment" option is donor sperm... He thinks this might actually be a bigger obstacle than my DOR and that we could have a good shot with my eggs and donor sperm (which is a lot cheaper than going overseas for donor eggs/embryos).

I haven't told DH yet; I don't know how to. I've been blaming myself for our IF for so long and somehow that was easier than facing this...

No immediate changes to our plan - we'll keep doing the IUIs for now and take some time to think about it. I'm trying to trust that there's some grand plan behind all this, but it's hard...

And for some reason this AF has been lighter than usual (medium, not heavy - sorry if that's TMI) so this morning's u/s showed my lining hadn't fully shed and so he's counting today as CD1 and we have to postpone starting the meds for the IUI until tomorrow (assuming today's b/w is okay, which I have to call about after lunch).

Juniper, Sorry about your not so good news.. It's just **** and so unfair sometimes! Would ICSI be an option for you? I know nothing about MF infertility so sorry in advance if this is a silly question. Hugs honey X

AFM, Had a massive melt down this morning! I thought last night that the witch was finally gone.. Only to wake up with unbelievably painful cramps and full on AF again. Then my Gonal F injection wouldn't work. Tried 4 times with one pen before giving up and using a new pen. Add to that my Orgalutran and I ended up having to jab 6 times this morning. The meds have never really gotten to me before but today I'm so emotional and tired... I was a blubbering mess and ended up late for work.

That conversation will be tough. Very tough! What are your feelings about donor sperm?
I find it very hard to think that it's all part of a plan..... The things that some people have to go through.... It's horrible.
