I just rang the clinic & they want us to see dr for review before we do another cycle. Grr! I am so tempted to change clinics.
Beau i'm so sorry sending you lots of hugs xxxx
Catyo Sending my love to you and a big hug xoxo
Beau so sorry to hear it was a negative hug hug
Williever you are lucky getting wined and dined then you can surprise him back hehehe. I to am around ovulation time and I hate that obligatory feeling that I get to make sure I DTD around this time, it's not fun and spontaneous but I know if I don't I can't hope for anything to happen!!!
Jasmine well done on you embryos making it to blasty and freezing.
Missb - hope you feel better soon.
Hi to everyone else.
Myturn I so hear you with the weight loss. I was good and went to gym and dh wanted Chinese so yet again of course I ate it now feeling guilty.
Good luck with it babe you will do well.
I feel guilty when I read and don't post so I think you will always see me randomly sneaking in with a few kind words of support for you all from time to time :-)
kerbear - you've got to be in it to win it right? Well there's a tiny chance it could happen. Close to 0 chance, but not 0. So while we are waiting to be able to afford another FET cycle we will give it a go.
Beau - I am sorry. its just evil that we feel pregnant because of the hormones....just so cruel! Hugs xxx
Beau, oh, hun, I'm so sorry. I was really hoping the result would be different.
kerbear, I agree with Williever - if it's not zero chance, then you're still in with a shot! Lol, and on the takeaway scale of badness, Chinese isn't too bad (depending on what you order), so don't feel too guilty. Just stick to your plan the rest of the week to make up for it.
Afm, congestion has improved during the day, so looks like it might just be my sinuses and a nasal drip causing problems while I lie down. Only significant lingering symptom is a headache and I've got an entire collection of meds/supplements for my cycle that could be behind that...
Just stalking and wanting to send you all hugs xxx
Beau....big hugs to you...look after yourself xxx
Does anyone else find dtd painful during O time? seems to hurt on side I get O pains on anyway. Just interested. TIA
Oh beau :( so sorry beautiful x
Thanks for the love ladies, I'm feeling better today. Thankfully. There's still an underlying sadness just lurking, but I'm doing ok today. Had acupuncture today and had a nice little nap while I was there, which was good and relaxing.
So it's official, I lost 1.2kg last week.... Could have just been fluid from AF and cycle though.... I don't feel that positive about it, but my psych has introduced me to a new book - the willpower instinct - it's all about the science of will power, started listening to it through Audible today, and I think it might be interesting and useful... So we will give that a go and see if that helps me keep on track... Only 2.5 more weeks of No Chocolate and lollies and chips... That's my goal... I've done okay, only 5 jelly babies yesterday.... No chocolate since Sunday last week, and no brown chocolate since embryo answer.... (I've had hot chocolate and milk shakes maybe 4 times.... ) anyway.... This is not a weight loss thread, sorry.... Here's hoping I can lose another two or three this month... And if I'm managing to make it happen,I might even keep going until I am down ten kg before I do ET... We will see... I really feel like its a waste if I don't try more.....
myturn - stick with it. Sometimes our bodies lose more and sometimes less. The key is sticking with it. I'm finding now that the habits are helping me slowly drop weight. So slow that no one but me is noticing:-( Its hard work mentally. Ive had wine today.....Its ok. I'm human.
Thanks you to all of you! Without your support I wouldn't survive.
I'm sorry to hear that Beau, go gently hun
Myturn, yay for losing the weight! Good luck with the rest hun :crossfingers:
Jasmine, yay for your little blasties!!
Juniper, glad it's not a flu/cold. Sinuses are the pits, I suffer from those too
Kerbear, thanks hun, it's always lovely to have your wonderful support x
Williever, GL witht the bding hun!
Hello to everyone else!
Beau - I'm just so sorry. Sending a huge hug to you. Take care of yourself x
Thanks Miss B.
Beau I am so sorry Hun.
Sorry for not keeping up the last couple of days, still recovering from my lap :(
AFM - we will now try naturally for3 months, not holding too much hope but you never know stranger things have happened! No longer than three months though cause if we do have to do another stim cycle than we want to do it this year so we are still on the safety net and also we don't have to pay the excess again for the hospital. So...besides doing the dirty everyday, what else can we do to increase our chances of getting in in the right window??!! :) almost feel like I am going back to sex ed at school
Me too Kel :-) who knew about sex and pregnancy? He he.
Beau- I'm so sorry your BT was not better news.. Big squishy hugs honey. it's so cruel when a cycle doesn't work. Fx that your much awaited BFP is only just around the corner xx
Kel- Yep you gotta be in it to win it!! GL x
MyTurn- Well done on the weight loss honey! Every bit of weight lost is a great achievement and a step in the right direction x
Williever- I have experienced the same discomfort a lot while BD around O.. But I only O during medicated cycles so put it down to the meds.. X
AFM- Has anyone experienced rapid weight gain while on Progynova? Jumped on the scales this morning cause I'm feeling awfully bloated and I have gained 4.5 kilos since my EPU last week! I'm only a tiny build to start with so that's nearly 10% of my body weight...

Kel, you could try acupuncture if you wanted to be actively "doing something". Otherwise, just lots of "adult time", especially in your fertile window, and keep up your folic acid, etc.
On the acupuncture side. What is the difference it can make? Very Willing to give this a go from now on. Might give clinic a call too.
Juniper- How are you feeling today? Hope your sinus thing is not annoying you too much.
Kel- As juniper said maybe try acupuncture. My sister had accu and some other 'Chinese medicine' stuff while waiting for her FS appointment and ended up with a natural BFP after 3 years TTC.
Well I just called the clinic about my rapid weight gain and they said it is certainly not normal. They think maybe my dose of Progynova is too high for me so I have an appointment for 8am tomorrow so they can sort things out.. Fx my lining is starting to look better at tomorrows appointment..
Acupuncture won't work miracles, but it can definitely help. I started after we had done 6 IUI, 3 IVF and 1 FET. I had NEVER had a BFP at that point. Second cycle with the acu we got a natural BFP. It ended up being a m/c, but was still our first ever BFP. We have spent almost 5.5 years in total TTC and I've had 3 BFPs (2 natural, 1 IVF) - all three of those cycles, I did acupuncture. I've never had a BFP in a cycle that didn't include acupuncture. It could just be coincidence or the acupuncture could be helping just enough to get us over the line...
Just make sure you find an acu that specialises in fertility, otherwise it's like having a GP do IVF - they may know the basics but not enough to help you properly...
Jasmine, let us know how you go. I'm feeling fine, thanks for asking. Nose is a bit dribbly, but not out of control. Didn't have the chest congestion feeling this morning, so that's a welcome relief.
Juniper, I am in brisbane also, is there someone you can recommend for the acupuncture?
I agree with Juniper I ttc for 3.5 years and the first bfp I had was with acupuncture which I mc only to fall pg again 4 mths later with acupuncture and had ds3. I totally recommend
acupuncture but with a qualified fertility acupuncturist
Juniper could you please put me down as cd1 today please to be totally honest not sure if today or tomorrow is cd1 but I don't think 1 day is going to make much
difference. We dtd on Monday night I had iui yesterday but I had a very bad headache and sore throat yesterday so only did iui but will dtd tonight just in case. I have
got to the stage where if its ment to be it will happen this month i'm not expecting too much but am looking forward to ivf next month which I think will give me a better
chance to get a bfp I hope fx.
Beau- I am so sorry to hear that, I was waiting good news from you. Sending a big hug xoxo..
Juniper- I decide not to take Melatonin from today. I reduced to 2mg, last night at 3:30am I was still awake. My nurse told me it has insomnia side effects, if I can't sleep, I should stop it, I was hoping this can help me to improve my egg quality, but I am so disappointed I can't take it anymore. Hope Melatonin can help you with good quality of eggs and get pregnant this time.
Just wondering how long it will take for af to arrive. I stopped all drugs yesterday after the news. Going on holiday this weekend so praying the terrible days come before then. I always seem to have holidays after disappointment - so depressed at beginning of them :(
Kel, I'll PM you because I'm not sure if I can post it publicly.
BeStrong, thanks for sharing that. I'm sorry to hear it was stopping you sleeping. :(
Beau, it depends on where you're body's up to. It could start almost straight away or it could be a few days. I hope it doesn't wait for your holiday to start.
I've done acupuncture for two cycles and both of them
"something" happened... First was a missed miscarriage in the end, and then there's the most recent cycle which wasn't really a positive, but wasn't really negative either.... It's the only times I've had anything 'happen'
If anything, it makes me feel better and like I'm doing "something!!!" So.... :dunno:
I'll def. call the clinic then. They have an accupintcurist there. So will discuss things.
Thanks for the info ladies x
Williever- If nothing else the acupuncture helps you feel relaxed and as though your 'doing something' and that in itself has got to be a good thing! I did acupuncture during my successful ivf cycle last time round.. I would love to be doing it this time round but now I'm working full time and it's a struggle.. I already take so much time off work for my FS appointments as is it.
AFM- Scan this morning showed my lining is now 7mm.. Is that pretty good? FS has scheduled our FET for next Wednesday. I am to keep my dose of Progynova as is and start adding crinone from Saturday.
FS said to try and ignore my weight gain.. Apparently just fluid retention from the Progynova and he thinks it should resolve itself as my body adjusts.
Williever - I have been going to acupuncture once a week since December last year. I got my bfp with half my cycle of acupuncture (I had 2 sessions before transfer). My transfer was just after Xmas and the clinic was closed so I couldn't have any after the transfer. I had full cycle of acupuncture this last cycle but got bfn. I feel so relaxed with my acupuncturist and my feeling is that if there is anything extra I can do towards getting pregnant I will do it.
Jasmine - that is great news that your lining has thickened up so quickly. Gl for next Wednesday.
Afm - I have to wait to see dr in 2 weeks time. Apparently because I have had so many failed cycles now they need to look into other reasons why they aren't sticking. Does anyone know what type of things they check out next? At what stage do they start transferring 2 embryos? Has anyone tried embryo glue?
Beau- I used embryo glue for my successful transfer. My clinic uses it for all patients as its only an extra $100. I have the stats on a brochure at home and I know their pretty good.. Particularly with frozen embryos. Have you had assisted hatching on your embryos?
Thanks Jasmine. No I haven't had assisted hatching. 2 out of our 4 embryos we transferred we could see hatching though - but I will definitely bring it up with dr at appointment.
Beau- My clinic mentioned today that they will be doing assisted hatching as freezing embryos sometimes 'hardens' the shell making it difficult for the embryo to hatch on its own... But it sounds as though yours are doing that on their own. My FS also tells my to take baby aspirin as it can help with implantation and help prevent miscarriage???
Maybe if they can't find any reason why your embies are not sticking they will do pgd to see if that sheds any light...?

Juniper, When your next doing the listy could you please move me to 'waiting for transfer'..thanks Hun :)
Jasmine, you want at least 8mm for transfer, so you're nice and close! FX for next week! :crossfingers: Hope the bloat goes down for you soon (and then goes up again because of a BFP!)
Beau, if you haven't already done them, I'd imagine the options to explore next are lap (for endo and other physical anomalies), testing for clotting factors (ANA, APA, etc) and immune testing. For your partner there is SCSA (sperm DNA fragmentation) and FISH (sperm chromosome studies) testing that can be done. It was the FISH that gave us our recent bad news. You can also have chromosome studies done on each of you (different to the FISH and DH's came back normal when he did it back in 2009). We started transferring 2 embryos from our second fresh cycle (31yo, and had planned to transfer 2 at the FET in between the fresh cycles, but only 1 survived the thaw). Haven't tried embryo glue or assisted hatching.
Thanks Juniper - I had lap last year before we started any treatment & was normal so guess we will check out some of the others you mentioned.
Juniper could you please put me on the list as 2dpo as I had my iui on Tuesday, Thank You
jasmine just wanting to find out about baby aspirin. What do I ask for at the chemist? Is it baby aspirin as in I would give it to ds3? I'm really sorry if I sound stupid
but honestly not sure
