Sorry all seem to lose this thread over the past week. Feeling a liitle more normal now back to work again on Monday and BT to see if 1 of 2 stayed not holding out great hope as FS said this is more like an MC this time. If BFN then we need to do a lap in Jan Feb and new Cycle straight after back to saving just in case.

hehehe - i've had three of them now (and six of the pregnyl booster shots which are much the same thing) and they never fail to be a little ouchie - DH is always there to rub the sore spot while i do the clean up after those ones! i find it only lasts a few minutes though, and it's a small sacrifice if it gets us a step closer to having a bub....
True BG. I always got so excited we actually got to trigger, I couldn't complain too loudly. But it did hurt! <<sooking>> :P
TL, I hope that your BT brings some hope for you, but it's also good to have a plan of action JIC.

Hope the weekend has been relaxing. I'm sorry to hear about the BFN's for some since I last logged on. It's hard to know what to say but my thoughts go to you. I hope that you are able to find some comfort with your DH/DWs. I'm trying not to sound condescending or flippant here - sorry if it comes across that way :(
From my perspective I really didn't know what to expect when starting IVF but my eyes are very wide open now and I wish there were more words that express the feeling that I get from being on the thread here of the courage and strength that's here amongst everyone :)
Last day on OCP tomorrow and then first u/s Tuesday week to see when FSH can start - settling onto the Synarel more now - but BB soooooo sore - is that the pill or the Synarel??
I'm finding it hard to keep it "light" a lot of the time (here and at home with DF) - anyone got any suggestions??! ...Maybe I can tell dodgy jokes or relay anecdotes of childhood injuries and accidents? ;)

I didnt feel any of the injections. Had no problems thank god. Just hate the spray.

In doing some updating/sorting in my head about who's where in their cycle on this thread, I've realised we're probably two day's apart. Like you've been, I'll be wrapped to be off the pill tomorrow. Will you have u/s or BT to confirm when you start FSH? My u/s is on 13 Nov. Hope the rest of your weekend has been much better than the family stuff yesterday :)

miss_c - keeping things "light" is a challenge we're all trying to face i'm sure! for me, i find the best thing is to, as much as possible, keep my life about everything other than the IVF - yeah, i'm on BB daily, and i get a lot of support, as well as giving it, but when i'm not on BB, things have to be about non-ttc subjects or i'd go nuts! i have been through a few months where everything i thought, said, did was ttc related, and everything seemed to be on hold waiting for something else to happen - and when it didn't, i was a mess, so now i have made a concerted effort to make sure i have a "life" away from ttc.
i don't know if that helps you at all, and it certainly doesn't give you a definitive answer on how to keep yourself "light", but it tells you how i've managed to cope through it all! we all have bad moments, and during those times, we call on the others here to be our support - it seems to work out well most of the time! as for your time with your DF - this is something only the two of you can cope with - and the only way i've found that i can do this with DH is to talk to him honestly about what i'm feeling, involve him in every step - and then we help each other through the tough times and get on with making the most of our time between cycles.

looks like a few of us will be cycling closely together. From memory, BW will be starting FSH injections on the 12th or 13th, i'll be (as far as i know) starting on the 16th, and miss_c looks to be fitting somewhere in the middle of that! noice!!
MissC, I'll have a blood test to see if I can start stims on the 12th. Last cycle, they had me start the following day for some weird reason, so it will be either the 12th or 13th for me.
As for staying sane... I've got a key group of friends that get to hear about IVF stuff, some at work, some at church, basically everywhere I go, I know there'll be someone I can talk to if I need to. The others may know we're doing it, but not the details of what is happening when. I try to keep it all on BB most days, but if I'm having a bad day with side effects or whatever, then I'll talk about it a bit more openly. As for on BB - you'll see some pretty lame attempts at making jokes from me... I'll apologise in advance for them. Usually, I find it's simply enough to know that there are people (nearly typed women!) here that understand what's going on.
Today's my first pill-free night! So excited about that!

Reading your post has just made the most sense to me. It's spot on :)
DF and I had a great afternoon out and about today (market, lunch, DVD on couch at home afterwards) without talking about IVF at all, which I've just realised now! It was lighter than it's been in days. We talk everything through, as you say, share all thoughts and feeling, but this was us just being us without the heavy talk. I think sometimes it's hard to keep it light inside your head even so - it's (TTC/IVF) always there in your mind. Side effects are another unintentional, but incredibly effective reminder too.
I feel kind of silly - I have my wedding in 5 weeks - what a perfect thing to have away from TTC!! You've reminded me of that, and that's brilliant. Ta muchly, sweet :D
OK, here's my lightness for the night on the thread then:
DF would not be happy knowing he was the subject of lightness on BB, but... Cooking dinner tonight, asked DF for help washing/preparing potatoes. All good - DF says I'll quickly wash some dishes before I do that. Great - thanks hun... I turn around a couple of minutes later and what do I see, but DF washing the potatoes in the washing up water, soapy potato in his hand - he figured the detergent would help get them cleaner, as he doesn't like when he can't get them clean enough with just water! Perfectionist DF - what can you say!! So glad he's about to become DH!!

P.S. BW: WOOHOO! No pill is awesome! Hope the time before FSH is relaxing for you, nice and side-effect-free. Thanks for your thoughts on sanity too - as DF and I have told only two people that we're TTC/IVF, BB is so important to me now. Important means serious, but I will be really trying to keep it light as much as possible, for myself and for whatever I can do to support others here, and DF at home :)

hun, it's great to try and find ways to distract yourself and feel light and carefree, but don't ever feel guilty for having a bad day - no one here will judge you, and we're here to share your journey no matter the mood. we all have shockers, and we have self absorbed moments - and that's just as normal as having fun on here. so please, don't try to force yourself to express lightheartedness if you're not feeling it - we all understand how it is i promise!
Hello everyone, I've a quick question, does the puregon seem to unsettle anyone elses tummy? Mine has felt a bit off since I started stims. Today is day #4 and I am beginning to feel it. Scan on Wednesday to see how I am going. Am trying to drink at least 2 litres of water a day too because I have been told I ought to when stimming. I have absolutely NO idea why, but am doing as I am told. I figure a hydrated uterus and ovaries/eggies is better than dried out!!!!
Am another that tries to keep it light off here, I joke with my friends about it (one delightful friend calls me an IVF junkie with all the needles I do); and I was also studying though have just finished up for the year. I am now researching so I can submit a proposal for research next semester. I find the more I can fill my days with 'other stuff' the easier it is to endure all the waiting. Admittedly, this is also our first cycle back after 2 years break from AC and that has made an ENORMOUS difference to the coping abilities. It was a good thing to do for us.
BabyBliss, staying hydrated helps avoid OHSS. Can't help with the puregon side effects as I'm at work and my trusty side effect list is beside the computer at home. Must get back to it, even though I'm not really awake.

BB - i find that the main thing i notice with the puregon is the upset tummy. yes, i have hormonal changes (don't we all?!) but i've found the puregon does upset my tummy more than a little. i have IBS though, so figure i'm going to be one of thoe lucky people that if a drug says "might cause upset tummy" i'm going to get one no matter what!!
as BW mentioned, the water is to try to help you avoid OHSS. when you're stimming, a lot of extra fluid is drawn to your reproductive organs (hehehe, normal month you get one, maybe two follies - on ivf, you might get 20, so lots more fluid filled bits down there!). It is important to stay hydrated to stop that causing you any other health issues. BW has had OHSS pretty badly, so i'm sure she'll come back later and fill you in on the details!
Thanks BG for picking up between the lines about how I'm feeling and for telling me not to worry. It really helps to know that there's people here who have been through it all and understand where you're coming from, whatever it may be that day :hug:

Wow so much happens I think I had to read through 3 pages to catch up :)
Weekend was great and my DH and I had a gr8 9 month wedding anniversary celebration. went out for lunch and dinner and spent about 4 hours veging out on the couch watching Lost season 1 - thank god for dreary rainy days but yeah we had a top non IVF and AC day/night .. last night my AF arrived so I madly dashed into the clinic in Sydney this am stressing that because it was earlier than they told me somehow my cycle was ruined but they assured me all is ok and I will prob start stimming early next week I think on Gonal-F I believe - yay more injections ...
Anyway a big sorry to everyone who has received bad news - my thoughts are with as I know how devastating news like that can be ... sending you all :hug: and hope that it helps even in the smallest bit ...
butterfly_warrior - how are your lucrin injections going? I have my b/t on wednesday and am on track after stopping the pill and what a difference not taking the pill makes to moodiness !!!
Miss C - how are you coping with your injections too hun ? I give you big points and to anyone else who can do them themselves, I just cannot fathom injection myself and am so thankful my DH does them for me ... here is hoping that you relish in not being on the pill anymore (today or tomorrow?) .. it makes such a difference that I really hadnt realised the big ogre I had become for the short few days (or weeks to my DH lol)

Hi Missc, I am studying for a masters in writing and literature. The good part about is that even though I am done officially, for the year, I can 'practice' my writing over summer, and plan my research for the semester ahead. It has also been great to write about infertility and send it out there, out of me. Powerful stuff! And yes, I love it. Planning a wedding will be a wonderful distraction - enjoy!
