Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception Nov - Dec 2013
Hi Ladies, hope you're all having a great start to the weekend
Kel & Rai so sorry to hear the witch has arrived
Kel im praying your last 2 eggs are golden ones for you!
Sarah enjoy your special day, thinking of you
Thanks so much for all your well wishes for my transfer on Monday
Clinic called and 5 eggs have fertilized the 6th one was not mature enough so pretty good success so far.
Found out were having a 3 day transfer as were doing the embryoscope so apparently that allows them to see early one which eggs are best and get them back inside their natural environment.
Have a lovely weekend All sending lots of baby dust

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception Nov - Dec 2013
Hey girls xox thanks for thinking of me xox
I've been flat out with this engagement party and now it's clean up time! Ugh... Just a wee bit hung over hee hee! But it was wonderful :-) I wish I wasn't having a chemical preg though :-( Mr bt said hcg of only 15 and the line on my hpt completely dissapeared by yesterday :-( , I've run out of tears.not again!
A whole year to wait for ivf a whole lead up of hope to end in tears once again. I wish I knew what to do to stop losing them.
Will be back later I guess I'm waiting for af now ...
Good luck girlies on this incredibly tuff journey

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception Nov - Dec 2013
Sarah, so sorry to hear that. Glad the party went well in spite of what you're going through. You seem like one tough lady.
N2L, also sorry about your experience with your op. I am also about to lose my left tube, actually. Well, it's not confirmed but it looks that way. I hope the recovery is speedy.
Glorious, I am thinking of you and really hope that things are ok and that hopefully it's a scare, but if not, that treatment resolves things. It must be incredibly hard.
PosTTC, good luck for Monday.
VD74, I read your post and it sounds so so hard. I wish I had something more useful to say.
Sorry I can't say more - back is not great right now.
AFM, we are faced with this decision which I posted about under the Endo forum I think. We have to decide by Monday: either have a lap to remove an endometrioma on my right (possibly the only working) ovary or go on with more IVF after a simple curette. Even the doctor won't advise which way to go. My IVF response dramatically decreased with my last lap (from 17 eggs per cycle to 4) and I have low ovarian reserve, so if we had a lap, we could give our 3 frosties a much better chance of implanting but prob could never do IVF again. It is so confusing. Also I got pregnant with my daughter one month after last lap, so it is tempting, but very high risk and kind end of the road option, ie if in 6 months, I'm not pregnant, then I probably won't ever get pregnant.
wishing health and happiness (as much as possible) to all ....
WW

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception Nov - Dec 2013
Sarah, I'm glad to hear the party went well. But so sorry to hear the CP was confirmed.
Worrywart, I haven't checked the endo board in a while. I'll go find your post...
*edit* I couldn't find it. I'm guessing your Dr won't make a recommendation because both options have some big pros and cons. The problem with leaving the endometrioma is that it is probably compromising the quality of your remaining eggs. But, as you say, removing it will likely also involve the removal of some healthy ovarian tissue, further reducing your reserve. Neither of those is a desirable outcome...
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception Nov - Dec 2013
Hey Juniper, thanks so much for looking for the post. Sorry, it wasn't under Endo. I actually finally found it under Long Term, Female Factors, back in September, headed "endometrioma". Not sure how to link to the post. But from what you've said, you don't need to read it. It is exactly as you said! Very unsure, but leaning towards surgery. It is nearly 4 years since my last surgery. Still, I wonder, have I given IVF enough of a go (it's 4 transfers now in total, but there was one stim cycle cancelled for zero fert). Friends of mind did 10 transfers, but obviously they did not have the same issues, and had to do IVF anyway for severe male factor (but we also have a bit MFI). Ugh.:wall: There's no rational way of making choices sometimes I guess.
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception Nov - Dec 2013
Worrywart, one of my ovaries was completely encased in endo, but we didn't know it because our first FS repeatedly refused to do a lap. We did 4 IVF and 1 FET with him - all BFN. After the 4th IVF, we changed to a new FS who did a lap and found the endo. He removed what he could and our next IVF (first one with the new FS), just 2 months after the surgery, gave us DD... It has crossed my mind that removing the endo from the ovary may have sped up my DOR (by damaging still-healthy tissue), but the endo itself was causing the DOR in the first place and leaving it there would have eventually led to the same destruction and every egg coming out of there had to pass through a layer of endo so any remaining viable eggs were being damaged upon release...
Some people would toss a coin and leave it to chance. But I'd take a bit of time to think it through and hopefully one of the options would eventually feel more "right" than the other. It's a sucky disease and a difficult decision with no right or wrong answer...
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception Nov - Dec 2013
Juniper, thanks so much for your post. You know, it is quite weird how similar our stories are. I also had my first lap after repeated IUI/IVF failures and also against advice (the FS tried to dissuade me) and had stage 3/4 endo and a lot of endo removed from my left ovary, and was actually booked in for IVF, just waiting to call for day 1 but was pregnant. Your thinking is exactly how mine has been all along, but then the FS's really seem to push IVF as a panacea. It's also funny that you mention the coin toss, because I literally just said that to my husband 5 minutes ago! Thank you so much, it is really helping me to read this.
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception Nov - Dec 2013
So sorry Sarah that it has ended in a chem again for you. You are one strong woman & I hope that this is not the end for you xxx
WW what a tough decision you have before you. Sorry I can't give any advice as I have no experience but hoping you all the very best xxx
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception Nov - Dec 2013
WW, mine was "stage 3, almost stage 4" (direct quote from FS), but it was my right ovary... Our second FS was (and is) very pro-lap, it was just the first one that refused for 2 years... Adding to the similarity, my AMH last year (just before my second lap) was 1.5... (I don't want to know what it is now because I'm sure I'll be depressed about it)
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception Nov - Dec 2013
So sorry to hear Sarah, hugs to you lovely lady.
Good luck for today positively!!! Will be thinking of you.
Sorry to hear you have a tough decision to make WW. I have no experience in that area, but wish you all the best.
