HI ladies, Sorry about the late post but its been a loooon day.
What did I say about ovary pain subsiding?!!
Fel ok when I got up but as it neared EPU time I could barely walk. They were running quite late at the hospital and when the pain got really bad I started to get quite worried that I was ovulating already. Had to lie down with heat pack until they got me in!
Anyway, all went fine. 21 eggs collected but not jumping up and down as I know a fair proportion of those will be too immature. Won't find out anything more until Monday as clinic doesn't do any calls on Sun. Oh, unless we get none fertilise so actually hoping we don't hear anyting until Mon.
Still feeling pretty drained and sore but relieved at least this part is over
MG - Wow, 19 embies still going strong. Sounds like you should get good numbers through to day5. I would have to say, with those numbers, that most clinics would defnitely push for just a single embie transfer as you are very likely to have plenty in the freezer for future attempts.I can cerainly understand the desire to put 2 in and maybe slightly increase chance of getting pg quicker but the risks may outway the 'time" factor
21 - hope you can get the help you need and deserve very soon. I am still being called "young" at my IVF clinic even though I am 37 (and concerned about my age). Just keep pushing for the help you want/
JBM - Hope your appt goes well on Mon and you get that magical xmas BFP!!

Hi all just checking in to see that you are all doing ok. AF arrived today which would be great but we still dont have the go ahead to do a cycle yet. FS is not looking at our file until monday, so I guess it wont be until after christmas which is not so bad I guess. Well have a good night.

Mollygirl - you have some great numbers there! It's a confusing issue the old put one or two back in. My FS told me that putting two back in only increases your chances of twins, not pregnancy. Hence, more complications for mother and babies if twins.....don't know who to believe really.

AFM: Still jabbing away with puregon and orgalutron. Another scan and BT tomorrow, so I'll know more by then. Feeling fine!

AFM - well transfer day is tomorrow and to add to the excitement, my best friend called me this morning at 4.48am to tell me she got a second line on her HPT:dance: so if all goes to plan we will be due 2 weeks apart:crossfingers:

21andTTC#1 I have also thought about doing the condom trick as so many people I know have become pregnant after one has broken. I know it is very frustrating feeling as if no one wants to help you because of your age all I can say is keep pushing make yourself be heard let them know that you are serious about starting a family with you DP

WOW that was a lot
AFM Well after my blood test last monday the nurse rang and said it indicated that I was in the later stages of my cycle so that basically ment I O'd on the Friday before hand so now I am 9DPO so I guess that also means I am offically in the TWW the nurse also has advised me that if AF doesn't show on Dec 5th when she is due then to wait 1-2 weeks then do a BT for BHCG so here is hoping stay away AF.

Yay!!! Transfer day arrived and it was good news when i got to the clinic. I had 4 superstar blasties, actually the scientist called them "awesome" and insists that she doesn't use that word often. So we transferred just the one (i will come back to that part later) and the other 3 will be frozen. Also there were another 6 or so that still looked good and they will wait another day and check. So i could possibly have more to freeze.
So back to the do we transfer 1 or 2 debate. Well after all the advice i received over the weekend i had made peace with the idea of transferring just the 1 if the quality was great. When i got there, the head nurse was adamant that i didn't even meet their protocol for 2 and the scientist also put her opinion in that as all blasties were fantastic it would be risky to put 2 in. My FS actually said to me that if i twist his arm hard enough he would do the 2. So i had a dilemma on my hands. In the end, while iwas sitting in the room i had this overwhelming feeling that there was no doubt this cycle was going to be my success story so i opted for just the 1.
So ladies, i would like to announce that as of today i am officially pregnant unless proven otherwise!!!!!

Molly - great news!! 4 "super" blasties and maybe more in the freezer. Hopefully you'll be able to save them all for your subsequent children because, as you said, you are pg girl!!

AFM - got the call today to say we have 14 embies from our 21 eggies so very happy with that given I thought there would actually be a lot more eggs that were to immature.
Will find out tomorrow how many are suitable for the PGD testing and then if all goes well, will prob have ET on Wed

Molly I love you pregnant unless proven otherwise.
AFM, Fs rang me yesterday and gave me the go ahead without seeing him, so we are all go when we get back from our christmas holiday, couldn't quite squeeze a cycle in before than. I am going to be on higher dose of puregon (hopefully wont be injecting for 28 days before trigger) and doing IUI. Said I would never go past OI but after losing my dad suddenly and having to rely on my brother ( DH was wonderful but my brother and I were going through the same emotions) I realised that it was so imnportant for Campbell to have a brother or sister.( Hopefully a sister) So it is full steam ahead through whatever gives us that baby. Just lucky I have you wonderful ladies to keep me sane. Must go to work now, rats.

AFM, had a scan today and everything is coming along well. I'm having another scan on Friday and looks like my FET will be early next week - yippee!!! Also having acu tomorrow and going to fit in some sessions around the FET to try and make everything perfect for the embies.

AFM, I am soooo excited, I have a plan and am lucky they have fiddled with the dates which means I can start on stims about a week earlier than planned, now on the 20th Dec. They were worried I would be injecting over Xmas, but as I have banned alcohol anyway it didn't make a difference, so off I go. EPU is scheduled for 2nd Jan!!!!! Woohoo, so I am right back into it for 2009.
To anyone I have missed, where ever you are in your cycle, thinking of you and sending lots of positive vibes, crossed fingers, hugs and prayers. xx

Well another little update, Got a call from FS office today. We have an appointment for a review tomorrow, really feeling that this is our time as everything is falling into place for a start after christmas.
It also helps that we know our FS on a personal level.
As we are starting something new I am glad we are going to see him before starting. At least we will know what it is we are doing before we do it, and find out about increased success rates, if there is any.
Well hope everyone is doing well, again should be writing my reports but finding any excuse not to. Think I might go have a shower.
