Afm I'm cd 55 !! What the hell! I can't believe it's this long. Im normally anywhere from 27 - 38 give or take but 55. It's ridiculous. I don't think ive ever wished for my period to come more than now! I guess it's not going to make a difference really. We won't be doing anything until our app on 22 nd with fs and everyone else. Full day of app's.
Me and my hubby have talked and don't think it will be worth starting our first cycle until next year! Firstly due to Xmas and that busy, already stress full time of the year and secondly,
Cost wise! Our fs explained that if we were to do a cycle this year and not be successful we will have to start all over again next year money wise with the Medicare rebates and stuff coz it goes on calendar years! So we would be flensing alot of money on the first cycle then be back to the start in January on the Medicare thresh hold! Who knows....

Also what's amp stand for?

I don't think amp means anything.... I *think*... it's just when people write & or @ or something and it comes up weird.... that's all I've been able to figure out anyway!! (it bugs the beegeesus out of me though!!! :lol:)

Welcome little_mrs you are welcome in here... if there's not much happening over there, it's cause everyone ended up moving in here....lol... (sadly....)

There are WAYYYYYY too many of us in here to keep track of now, so I am not going to try and do personals, it's just too hard to try and keep up!!!

so... anyway... I am just plodding along... glad to have had a month off, but wishing I was on the bandwagon now!!! DH has been away this weekend, and I am hoping I did not O, I think it's coming though... (it's always hard to tell, and I just BD every 2nd day in the vague weird hope of some miraculous conception)...

the metformin is making me a bit lightheaded I think... i have had the crappest food weekend too :redface: totally my own fault..... but anyway... DH gets home tomorrow, so.... hopefully I can feel more on top of things soon.

this time last year I was finding out my first IVF cycle didn't work..... I never imagined I'd be here 12 months down the track.... I hate LTTTC.... it sucks.... :(

OMG - I did my first jab this morning - well DH did anyway! I have had a phobia of needles for as long as I can remember. You would think being 32 I would be over it by now. I've been so good this year with 2 laparoscopy's, 6 months of zoladex injections and I don't know how many blood tests and then this morning I cried like a little kid when it came to giving myself a jab. I completely worked myself up for nothing though - It didn't hurt (mind you I numbed the area with ice first) but I just couldn't do it myself - had to get DH to do it for me. I'm hoping now that the first one is over it'll be easier from now on.

i was exactly the same with my first injection, faye. cried and carried on, i think i just panicked. i wouldnt even let dh near me & ended up having to go down to the local gp and get them to do it. i am (or was) a needle phobe too. after 2 years & 5 stim cycles, i still cant do my jabs myself, although i have learnt to let dh do them for me now... ;)
glad your first one is over, and dont worry about not doing them yourself - its just not normal to put a sharp, foreign object in to yourself, i cant even watch let alone do them myself. :)

Faye :hug: - it gets easier.... although some of the jabs are different, so while I'm good with the puregon, if I have to do something else I get a bit worked up... try to use my rational thinking and relax myself, and usually I get there okay...! The first time my nurse made me do a fake on in the office with them... DH and two nurses watching on...... pressure!!

Thanks Andie78, that makes me feel a bit better... Problem is DH is normally at work already by the time I need to do them so I might have to step up and do it myself but I don't know how i'll go with that. Time will tell I guess....

Just a quick question - do the injections stop after scan or do you have to keep going right up to egg pick up?? I'm on Gonal F if that's relative and have 10 days of injections that I know of and a scan next Thursday...

Yay I am finally cd1. Feels like it took forever. Af is horrible! I am happy its arrived but in so much pain i cant go to work. massive headache & cramps so bad. I guess after all the hormones etc in the stim cycle I can see why it's awful. So bt for me tomorrow to start my natural fet. I just rang my fs & they said I can do back to back fet if needed even in December. They just cant do stimulated cycles are theatres close over Xmas.

You continue taking the gonal f until you take your trigger shot. 36 hours before egg collection. Do you also have to inject orgalutran? I had to start on day 6 injecting both gonal f & orgalutran.

Faye, I am the same!!! I can't stand needles but being a nurse I give them to others without hesitating!!! When I had to do my first Puregon one, I had worked myself up so much that I was hyperventilating and I thought I was going I either vomit or pass out!!! When I finally calmed myself down enough to do it, I realised it didn't actually hurt at all... The worst part for me is the feeling and sound when you just push through the skin, it makes me queasy! Lol! You will be shocked how easy it will be for you to do them yourself once you try! xxx

Beau- congrats on AF!!! Sorry she is so mean to you, hopefully she pulls her head in and is kinder over the next few days!!! xxx

AFM- I picked the winning horse for today's 'Melbourne Cup'!!! That is the highlight of my week!!! Lol! I have another exam on Thursday and I am majorly lacking in motivation to study... :(

Andie, I went down to 150 halfway through my IVF. E2 was at 5000 then went to over 23000. They stopped all drugs for two days before trigger. I got lucky with epu but had to wait for transfer. Still waiting actually.

The 'amp' stands for ampersand which is the name of the and symbol.
