Morning All
Emma - I am glad she is checking you both out. 9 vials is a lot, but I am sure it will be fine. FX they can work out whats up with your recent miscarriages. x
Welcome arohanui. Seeing your an older TTCer like me I will be stalking you to see how you go :)
AFM - CD1 for me today. I expect to start jabbing tomorrow. *sigh*...and here we go again...
Oh so sorry Vic :(
Thanks myturn. We are just hoping that our last BFP wasn't our last. xxx
So sorry Vic :( Eff this whole journey :( :(
Just rang Monash to book in. Thought people might like to know the last date for their EPU's this year is December 14, with last date for transfers December 19. They close after that until January 7.
Emma - I have had that testing. Nine vials seems like a lot but, really, it is no different to a regular BT. Let's just say, I coped with my testing much better than DP coped with his
Miloro - good luck today!
Hi to everyone else :D
Yeah...Eff this WHOLE journey!!!
Thanks Miloro for your advice and I will try it if I can't sleep next time (last night my sleep improved). All the best for your egg collection and hope you can have a lot of good quality eggs.
I called my nurse today, she said I felt depressed, lost appetite and can’t sleep, all these symptoms could be caused by increased progesterone level (because I use Crinone gel twice a day for preventing my period comes earlier). It might be a little bit too much for me and my body can’t get used to it. She said if I continue to feel like that I can use Crinone gel every night and every second morning.
Does anyone use Crinone gel twice a day?
HI ladies, well I'm sitting here at the hospital waiting for DH. They got 22 eggs. Back later.

Hi and welcome Arohanui! :hello: If/when you want to be added to the list, just let me know your details.
Emma, FX you do just fine with the testing. And you're not fraud; you're still on this journey with us, albeit on a small detour off the main road. Besides, we like your company.
Vic, FX this is the one!
Rosemarry, I actually needed to use it 3x per day for my IVF cycles as 2x wasn't enough for me. I'm currently on 2x 200mg pessaries after my FET; the pessaries are used interchangeably with crinone at my clinic depending on the Dr's preference. I never had the same symptoms that you describe, but we all respond differently. Since starting the progesterone this time I have been very tired and irritable, but that's all.
miloro, hope you're feeling okay. Congrats on the 22 eggs! FX for the fertilisation! KUP on how you're doing, okay?
Okay ladies, we need a BFP to put in the list! C'mon, let's do this!! :grouphug:
Milo - Great news on the haul. FX for great fert rates. Rest up, drink lots of water, eat lots of protein. Is transfer still an option or are they freezing them all?
Hi thanks for welcoming me I'm just trying to work out how to use this forum and am a bit confused with the abbreviations so any help would be great and u can add me I would love to speak to as many people as possible thank u again :-)
Arohanui, it's a bit of a steep learning curve when you start out, isn't it? It took me a while to learn them and I still encounter new ones at times (after almost 5 years on the forums). If there are any particular ones tripping you up, just post them here and we'll explain them. I'll see if I can find a webpage that has a more comprehensive list for you though.
*edit*
Here's the list from the BB forum:
https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...s-amp-Acronyms
You'll find others on other websites and you can sometimes even google any abbreviations you don't know, but feel free to just ask us. We've all been where you are and are happy to help.
I agree Emma, we are all here because we are ltttc and going through assisted conception. No frauds exist here no matter how long the break between cycles.
Aro, the abbreviations can be tough so just ask if you are not sure. Here are a couple of common ones: bfp - big fat positive (pregnancy test); bfn - big fat negative; BT - blood test; epu -egg pick up; et-embryo transfer; fet -frozen embryo transfer
Afm, feeling a little more human after a nice long sleep in my own bed. I woke up to find my fur baby Amy curled up in dh's spot and fur baby jack between my legs. Both like to snuggle in close but gave me some space, guess they knew I wanted them near but needed some room too.
I'm so delighted with the haul. I guess we know why my E2 levels were so high when the scan only showed 12 follies. Other good news was that dh's sample looked good so they went for straight IVF, not icsi. Fx I never have to do stim again (wishful thinking). I find out the fert rate tomorrow. Vic, definitely no chance of transfer, the risk of ohss is something they don't want to chance. The doc did say we can probably go straight into a fet cycle though so just have to wait for AF now.
Ladies who have done multiple stim cycles, you have my utmost respect and admiration. I was finding this all ok, but when I woke up from surgery I was so emotional, I'm not sure how I could do that again. Much love to everyone.
thank u so much !!!! I am going to be starting the pill on monday we have been told this is good so my cycle can be monitored. then I pick up injections and looks like hopefully my first egg pick up will be 5 th november. It is all happening very quickly which is good. Does anyone have any symptoms they could tell me about the injections? also i am just having gas and air and valium and pain relief for the egg collection and the fertilized egg return any one else had this the same way? ;-)
miloro, I was so emotional when I woke up from my first EPU that I burst into tears (lol, it was my first general anaesthetic and I was terrified, so I was overwhelmingly relieved to actually wake up!! I think it was also a lot of pent up stress about doing IVF doing our first IVF). The nurses didn't know what to do, so they called DH up. It was the only time he was ever allowed to see me in recovery. The others were much easier, I promise! If it makes you feel better, I read an article recently that said that frozen cycles can sometimes be more successful than fresh cycles because the stims put a lot of stress on our bodies in the fresh cycles, whereas our bodies are more calm for a FET. FX for a great fertilisation rate! Lol, it's funny, my SIL said exactly the same thing to me (about the multiple IVF) recently after it took her 2 cycles to get a BFP.
Arohanui, the FSH injections are usually pretty good - the only s/e (side effect) I've ever had from them was fatigue and that was only for one of my cycles. All my EPUs (egg pick-ups) have been done under a light general anaesthetic, so can't help you there. I've never had any meds for the embryo transfer, but I know some (mostly American, I think?) clinics prescribe valium.
Getting dhea and hgh tomorrow in prep for next epu in nov .... Anyone tried/used it?
I have been taking DHEA for just over two months. Haven't tried hgh though.
You need to take the DHEA for four months before a stim for it to have any benefit.
Is it a tablet n2l? My clinic has said 6 weeks of both dhea and hgh for it to work for EPU
wow miloro! what a haul!! hope you get some great fert rates and plenty to freeze away to build your family with xxx

fert rate = 45%. 10 have fertilised. yay!
Well done Miloro. What day are you looking at transfer?
Hi guys
I am new to the forum. I am on my 2ww at present. I wrote a thread on the general page a few days ago. I have had bleeding from day 5 post transfer. But have been told by the clinic my hormone levels were ok. My progesterone was 35. I am having to wait 5 more days to have hcg blood test now after bleeding. Has anyone ever experienced bleeding then had a positive result? Also I have had major night sweats the first few nights post transfer and now the last 3 nights again. I had slight ohss as had 19 eggs collected. 17 mature, 13 fertilised icsc then 8 made it to day 5. One was transferred and 7 frozen. In the last 2 days I am starting to feel bloated again. Has anyone else experienced any of this before?
Thanks
welcome beau. sorry i can't help but i'm sure you will find lots of useful advice here.
Vic, no ET for me. Any that make it to day 5 will be frozen coz they just will not risk me getting sick due to E2 levels. Every time I talk to the clinic they remind me that no transfer will happen this cycle. Best case scenario is that they let me do a natural FET cycle once AF arrives, but most likely they will make me sit one cycle out first. So basically I will be in the waiting for something to happen category for a good six weeks to come.
Six weeks to keep saving, stay healthy, hopefully get a little fitter :) I'm just on cloud nine right now. I know there is still a long way to go, but I have never been closer to being a mum.
Gosh Miloro, how dense am I. I asked you twice about transfer duh!! So sorry about that. I knew that you had OHSS too. Please excuse my madness. So many of us in here at the moments its hard to keep track on the phone.
I had my first transfer cancelled as they found a polyp right where they would implant the embryo which I then had to have removed and a d&c the next day. It was a lot to go through in two days. I felt frustrated not to have transfer, but its good to get your body back to its peak condition. I am so glad your in a happy place. Its all very exciting :)
AFM - First jab tonight of Gonal F. I have plotted my course and was telling the nurse yesterday when it was all happening. Lol. They know me all too well by now. DH and I had a talk last night about life after IVF. He said (and I agreed) that this is our last stim and will use up what we get and thats it for us. If it hasn't happened by then its never going to happen. We know we can conceive on our own so will keep trying naturally.
We have discussed donor eggs, but its just all to hard. Not that I couldn't love a baby growing in me, but getting a donor we both agree on and then the time it takes and the massive costs just seems way too hard. We couldn't afford it anyway.
We have been talking, and have been to a seminar, about fostering. I know its definately not the same and I will miss being pg, but I dont want to not have children in my life and think we can offer a child a good stable home. I am slightly put off by the horror stories, not so much of the children, but by the treatment of carers by the social workers. Like they are just baby sitters with no rights. We would like to foster to adopt maybe.
I just want my own baby *sigh*
wow vic, thats a huge step decision. Wishing you all the best in any choice that fate delivers
miloro- yay! huge numbers! happy for you!
beau30- I can't help too much, but I know that my OHSS bloating returned /coincided with my pregnyl injection.
hi to everyone else!
AFM - still waiting for my CoQ10 to arrive. Picked up my HGH and DHEA from the clinic and pharmacy. WHOA! $300 for 15 days worth of HGH. I am seriously going to be broke. Santa better give me a baby for Christmas, cause I wont be able to afford anything else. The dr who I chatted with today, suggested defrosting the one lonely frostie I have after collection to see if it survives and if it does put that back as well as the fresh.. so a double transfer  We will have to see if the head of the clinic agrees with that though.
arohanui - hi & welcome. do you mean that you will be awake for egg collection? i havent heard of that before. usuallly clinics will put you under sedation. i am currently on the pill and will be having an egg collection in november also, best of luck. :)
miloro - congrats on your epu, and 10 fertalised sounds like a great, well done, you! hope you're feeling ok and taking it easy this weekend.
beau30 - i havent experienced bleeding 5 days after 5 day transfer, but stranger things have happened and ended in a positive result. only your blood test will tell you what is happening, goodluck with everything.
vic - sorry this cycle didnt work. i have considered fostering too, although the involvement of other professionals and potentially the child's family would concern me as well. i guess each case is different though and you would navigate your way through and set your own boundaries as you go etc. definately something i am considering when i get to the end of my road ttc. i wish you all the best with this last cycle. xx
krikkit - double transfer... eeeeek! you're braver than me. fingers crossed you get your xmas baby (babies?) ;)
hi to everyone else, hope you have a relaxing weekend. xx
Krit - go for double transfer. I have had a few doubles. Saves paying for extra transfer.
All good Vic, you have a lot on your mind and it can be tough to keep up with everyone on here :D. Sounds like you and DH have been doing some serious thinking and talking. I really admire that you would consider fostering. Its something I don't think my DH would even consider.
Krikkit, FX your clinic agrees to a double transfer. A christmas BFP would be a lovely treat.
AFM, i told my sisters where we are up to in IVF cycle. They knew we were going to go down this path but I had not told them we had started. As I suspected one was so lovely and encouraging. The other told me about how many of her friends are currently UTD or just had a baby. Hmm, not exactly what I wanted to hear but at least she didn't tell me how lucky I am not to have kids (again). I went shopping today (Bonds jocks on special for hubby) and tried to stay away but couldn't stop myself having a little wander through the baby section. Hopefully within a few months I'll be shopping there...not that I am letting myself get carried away,.
wow miloro! great fert rates with plenty to freeze away. good luck for when you get to transfer
andie yes i will be awake itis all done at the clinic you can have gas and air and valium and panadol as well it is alot cheaoer this way now as you dont have to have a ga etc. just got our plan to day egg pick up 9 nov and et on 12 th november all going well am very excited
hi vic i used to foster care i did it for two years so any questions feel free to contact me;)
Beau - OHSS hurts. I hand badbloating in my last cycle, can only advise rest, drink lots and don't worry if you don't feel like eating or even getting off the couch. Just look after yourself xox

Dhea troches are gross. With all the technology they could have made it taste better!!!
I can't taste mine. I just swallow the capsule with water.
*rant ahead*
Bloody body- I'm supposed to be ovulating- not bleeding!
I've got sort of AF.
It started yesterday with pink CM, which I thought was O bleeding or implantation bleeding- I ovulated on Wednesday/Thursday.
Now today- I've got large clots?!?
WTF!
I had a BT on Wednesday and my HCG is 0- so it's not 'left over' from my MC.
