Good Luck today Pholi, hope they got lots of eggs
Thanks 1mp and Caty.
We got 6 eggs, all were mature, this time. Last round we got 8 eggs and 7 were mature, 1 disintegrated with the ICSI process, and 6 fertilized. So we'll see how the ICSI goes this time.
Last time we had 3 good embryos at day 3, but none grew past that so at day 5 we had nothing to transfer. Because we are using the embryoscope this time, the embryologists have agreed to give me a report on days 2 and 4 as well as 1, 3 and 5. So day 4 feels like the biggest hurdle this time - will they have grown on from day 3 at all- but intellectually I know that every stage is a hurdle we need to get past.
I think the helplessness is a big part of why this is so hard for me. I'm used to being able to actively guide my 'destiny' through planning and action, so this whole 'sit back and wait to see what happens' thing is hard to take.
Great pick up Pholi, good luck with your precious little embies xxx

Hi juniper, I'm CD1 today. On my wedding anniversary!! :( Can you put me down as 'waiting for lap on 5th Nov' or something to that effect. We're not trying this month due to that. Did you catch up on your sleep?
All the best, Pholi :)
Spoons, sorry to hear AF crashed your anniversary. :( I hope your lap helps.
Sorry but I had to laugh at your question about my sleep... Yesterday I was at work for 11.5 hour and had only had 2 hours of sleep (thanks to insomnia plus an early morning b/t)... Had a big sleep in on Sunday though, so that helped a little. Had another early morning b/t this morning and back again tomorrow, so kind of hoping to get a sleep in on Thursday...
Just called for today's b/t results and was told the FS wants to see me tomorrow (instead of just another b/t). Oestrogen has plateaued and no LH surge (actually a very slight drop from yesterday's), so kind of worried about what that might mean...
That sounds like there's something not right, doesn't it Juniper? I hope it's something manageable which might be the key to getting you pg!
AFM, 5 of my 6 eggs have fertilized. That's good, so far.

Juniper how did yesterday go
I did end up having a b/t and oestrogen started dropping, so when I saw him again today he said that would make this egg no good, so no point triggering. I was thinking the same last night, so was glad he agreed. He recommended we try clomid next cycle, but I told him I had awful s/e with clomid in the past and that I'm not willing to risk going through that again. He still said to call at the beginning of next cycle, but unless he is willing to prescribe either letrozole or FSH instead of clomid, there's not really much point... I asked him why this would be happening, but he gave me the "weak ovulation" line and, when pressed, admitted they don't really know enough about this part of our cycles to know why it happens, only how to diagnose and treat it...
Juniper - so sorry to hear :( So are you doing natural cycles with trigger shots? I am a bit new to this game as with my previous pregnancies only needed clomid and it worked 1st cycle with my first and 2nd cycle with my son.
AFM - bloodtest last friday and this monday only showed small rises, so another bloodtest and ultrasound tomorrow morning to see whats going on. Depending on that will depend if/when having a trigger. The nurse who did the BT the other day said they might even give a booster instead of the trigger? I am so confused, I speak none of their lingo! and clearly like my previous clomid cycles this year, this cycle is not going to be a 28 day cycle :(
Sorry to hear about the confusing cycles, Razzberry and Juniper. Don't be afraid to keep asking questions, Razzberry. The nurses don't know what you do and don't understand.
My day 3 embryos report this morning was disappointing. Only 1 of the 4 embies had reached the target 6-8 cells, 2 had only 5 and 1 had only 4. The embryologist had another look for me this afternoon at 4, just before he went home, and 1 still had only 4. The 5 cell embies were up to 6 and 7, which means they might or might not be ok, still. The 8 cell was still 8 cells, which is ok for 8 hours later.
But we'll see tomorrow morning. Last time all of the embryos didn't grow past the 8 cell (day 3) stage, so getting to this stage wasn't the hurdle, it's getting past it that worries me. Tomorrow will be the crunch day.
I'm so stressed about it, I know there's nothing I can do, and I'm being a terrible mother to DS atm because I'm horribly sore and bloated, and stressed and miserable, and I really hate having to go through this. Just because I want another child to complete my family. It doesn't seem do much to want. :(
Right there with you, hun! I hope tomorrow brings some good news. :goodluck:
Razzberry, a booster is probably a lower dose or it may be a trigger shot coinciding with your natural LH surge to give it a "boost". You'd know which based on the timing, which I guess you'll find out when/if they give it to you. As Pholi said, do ask questions both at the clinic and here if you want to know more. As for my issue, before june I always O'd on my own without any problems. Then suddenly I stopped O'ing in June for no known reason, which is beyond frustrating... We had been trying naturally because we're pretty much burnt out with TTC treatments...
Juniper I'm really sorry about this cycle I'm really hoping he will prescribe you something different for next cycle, completely understand why your so frustrated you poor thing xxx
Really hoping for good news for you today Pholi, I will be waiting for your post GOOD LUCK
Razzbery I'm so sorry I don't know much either but just wanted to wish you luck xxx

Scan went well this morning, 1 big follicle about 18.5mm an bloodtest showed Im going to ovulate next day or 2. Good news is I don't have to give myself the trigger! They said to come in next weds and they would do it for me, so the trigger is just to aid in making my lining optimal apparently as Im going to ovulate myself (well with clomids help!). I was really stressing about the needle so very relieved they will do it for me!
Hi first time to the forum or any forum actually I'm feeling alittle overwhelmed at the moment had my first cycle about a yr ago but follicles not good enough for collection due to overie size So here I go again started the Nasel spray yesterday and blood test due next Friday. I was hoping For sum tips to try and give myself a better chance this time
Good luck razberry.

AFM- I had my FET today (CD19). Now we just have to w a i t...
Good luck to everyone, have a good weekend!
CatyO Good Luck, FX you get your BFP xxx
Good luck CatyO. I hope you have lotd of distractions to make the tww go quickly
CatyO, we both had a tf yesterday, then!
2 of my embryos surprised everyone yesterday (Saturday) by becoming day 5 blastocysts when it was looking not so great on day 4. So I had a transfer yesterday morning, one embies went in the freezer, and a third might be ok to freeze by tomorrow. :)
So relieved that I can still produce eggs that become blastocysts, at least, after the abysmal results last cycle. Now it's FX for implantation. My blood test is Wednesday week. Seems a looooong way away!
Good luck CatyO & Pholi! I hope both of you are lucky this time around.
Good luck Pholi and Caty! Hope you'll get your BFPs ladies xx
Juniper, could you put me on CD2 please hun. I guess with the last stim cycle this cycle is a bit wonky, 23 day cycle gee whiz. Lat one was a normal cycle, unmedicated, and it was 24 day cycle, so who knows what is really happening. FS says it's still ok, I'm thinking I'm on my way to expiring (lol, as in in the baby making department). Next cycle will be injecting again, strangely, I'm looking forward to it.
Hello to everyone else and I hope you are all enjoying your weekends :)
Thanks!
The lab said that the 3rd embryo has developed into a nice blastocyst today, so has also be frozen!
That leaves up with 2 frosties - I couldn't be more pleased with the way this cycle has turned around!
Fantastic news Pholi, Good Luck, hope you get your BFP xxx

Could somebody tell me what is the difference between Pregnyl shots and the pessaries? This time, FS just gave me 2 shots of Pregnyl, well Ive got 3, but they said to have only 2, and no pessaries. But I have pessaries at home from the last cycle and I am tempted to use them... any thoughts?

CatyO, pregnyl is hcg whereas the pessaries are progesterone. I've found that 3 pregnyl shots works great as a substitute for progesterone in a stim cycle (which is when I need the most luteal support). If your pessaries are still in date, there should be no harm in you using them, but you really should run it past your FS first (making clear that you already have them, not that you're asking for more). That said, the first time I was told to use only pregnyl and no pessaries I did use with some left over pessaries I had at home because I was nervous about it...
Thanks juniper, I spoke with a nurse and she said it was fine, I can use the pessaries. Also, my transfer was a 5dt. Thanks!

The count down is on til I start my cycle. Signed consent forms returned. Now just have to talk to the nurses pick up my meds and wait for af. Feeling nervous. Have already decided this cycle won't work. Im clearly already in self preservation mode.
Right there with you Jane. I am too scared to think positive. The only cycle I felt optimistic about was the first one...

A TMI question here... How much did you bleed after a lap and for how many days? I only have thin pads at home because my periods are quite light. Do I need to buy some mega jumbo sized ones or will I be right with what I've got? Thank you :)
How much and how long can vary, so it's hard to predict. The first two times I bled for approximately 2 weeks (followed immediately by AF after my first lap, so 3 weeks bleeding in total), but for my most recent one I only bled for 8 days (and only spotting for 2 of those days). I have been told bleeding for 2 weeks isn't normal, but it does seem to be normal for me (I also bled that long after my d&c). The heaviness can also vary, so I'd saying make your decision based on your confidence in your pads and your typical behaviour when you're bleeding. I use very thin pads (not sure if I can mention by name here, but happy to PM you) even though I have typically had super heavy periods in the past but I go to the toilet a LOT (like every 30-60 minutes, whenever I can feel a gush is imminent - sorry if that's TMI) when the bleeding is at its heaviest, so I don't rely on the pad to catch everything, if that makes sense. Since I also have some left over maternity pads from when DD was born, I do occasionally use one of those if I think I need the extra protection, but I've used hardly any of them in the last 3 years. I'd say get some overnight/maternity pads if you'd feel more secure having them on hand if you need them otherwise you could use your usual pads and maybe just go to the toilet more often if the bleeding is heavy?
