Sorry Shannon :(
arielle best of luk to you for today hun hope you get to transfer thinking of you xxoo
Thanks so much Smithy!
Well, yes, we did make it to transfer today. We have one good looking 8 cell embie on board, and are thrilled to bits. DH and I couldn't stop grinning at each other. It's off to accupuncture for me, and then having a 2nd look at a house DH and I are very interested in buying. So,wooohooh, bring on the TWW. This coming weekend we're off to Daylesford for some R&R (no spas dammit!), so that should help break it up a bit.
Arielle
So sorry to hear that news shannon.. :(
Good Morning
Thanks so much for your kind words, we see the FS next week so will hopefully get some answers i think my progesterone levels may be too low so hopefully we can increase the crinone to 2 a day and do some bloods monitoring next cycle. We still have BT on wednesday and then we wait and do another stim cycle at the end of this month.
Smithy - Congrats on transfer sounds very promising and enjoy your holiday!
Really sorry things didn't work out for you this time Shannon.
I'm having a bit of an "eek! how did that happen?!" moment right now... Tomorrow morning I go for my first blood test for the FET and to pay for the cycle. I'm finding my anxiety levels are rising fairly quickly - I noticed the same thing the last two times I used letrozole. Once I finish the tablets I start getting quite anxious, and then it stops once I ovulate. I really can't work out whether it's a normal response to the hormone changes, just something peculiar to me, or something that the letrozole does. Clomid did something similar, only much worse, so maybe it's just a BW thing.
DH finally gets back tonight, so I'll have someone to talk to again - yay!
Arielle, I hope that little embie you have on board is snuggling in and getting comfy.
Rols, how far off starting your FET are you two? Can't be too much longer, I think... or I'm just horribly confused.
BW
Shannon - sorry things didn't work out this time. Hopefully your FS will have some answers for you.
Arielle - sending you sticky vibes and best of luck for your TWW.
Just had my day 12 scan and things are looking up. From only 6 follies on Friday to about 10 today, my FS is feeling very confident so we are booked in to have a collection on Thursday. Getting very excited but trying not to get ahead of myself too much.
Good luck & best wishes to all!
BW, DW stops the pill tomorrow and then commences the FET drugs Wednesday.
Transfer (assuming at least one thaws) will be be approximately October 19. Still undecided about 1 or 2 (me leaning to one, DW towards 2). We haven't given it much thought and will have a chat to FS at some stage and go from there. If it doesn't work this time and we do two, we'd like to do another stim before the end of the year solely because of the safety net. But I can't see us being able to squeeze it in that close to christmas. Anyway, a short break gives us time to get our money in order because the gearbox in my ute crapped itself and cost an arm and a leg.
Apologies to all for being so pathetic with comments lately. As always, I read everyday, along with your journals/blogs for those who have them, but seem to be lacking in my usual verbal diarrhoea.
Good luck Rols and DW I'm very excited for you both. Hope to hear some good news soon.
Take care everyone XX
hi everyone - I hope you don't mind if I join you here. I have just posted an thread introducing myself.
I am on my first IVF cycle, and I don't know anyone else that has been through IVF, so I am looking forward to be able to share with you lovely ladies, who understand what it is all about.
Have just started the puregon injections (done 2 so far), and am trying to be patient and wait for the next date - ultrasound and blood test next Monday.
best of luk for this cycle, your at the fun parts now were it all gets exciting well done
Hi everyone I hope you don't mind if I pop in here Oct cycle about to get underway and I am lookig for distractions and support. Ideas and all other things baby my mind tends think of :)
Best of luck for everyone here!
Weclome, Nellie. I hope you find this thread wonderfully supportive and helpful. We all have. :) Just remember, the only silly question is the one you don't ask, so feel free to ask anything - someone's bound to know the answer!
Nice to see you here, too, tiggerlinda. :)
Me... Just returned home from my first blood test for my FET cycle. Had a new nurse take my blood today. She was really quite surprised that I was still bleeding when we took the cottonball off. She was even more suprised when I was still bleeding after the second cottonball and more pressure. I suggested that we just tape over the cottonball at that point. 40 minutes later I'm home and it looks like I've only just stopped bleeding... Makes me wonder how normal it is to be like that. Also makes me wonder if I go from that to suddenly clotting almost instantaneously after a blood test while pregnant if it's just a bit too extreme...
Anyway, I'm just babbling. Crinone pessary in the fridge (ew! but at least it's only one), cycle paid for... and it's all a bit hard to believe that everything's on the go again.
BW
BW glad to see things are underway :)
Best wishes BW xxx
Welcome NellieW & Tiggerlinda. It seems that you are pretty close to me with your IVF cycles. We begin #2 on 4th (Puregon injections). Nellie, how are you finding the injections? The first time I did them it took me about an hour to get up the courage to do it. Its funny, once the needle was in, I didn't even realise as it didn't hurt at all! I have my first scan on 9th, so hopefully I will have a good reaction to injections. EPU is planned for 16th, but I am not letting my thoughts get away from me.
BW glad to hear that things are on the move for you. All the best!
Hi to everyone else.
Take care & have a great week!
Hi all,
thought i'd pop in to see how you all going. Arielle, glad you have little embie on board.
Shannon, so sorry to hear about BFN! I feel for you ... hugs!
To every1 else 'big hi' .. sorry for lack of personals, still have rotten cold. went to clinic on Fri for final BT, was hoping to find out if embie at least implanted. Anyway no luck with getting blood, after 3 goes and heat pack ... ended up with 1 big fat whopping bruise due to vein bursting. Was told to do HPT as a backup but still havent. Even though they agree on BFN, more precaution for it not being an ectopic preg. Anyway got some answers, which was good. Found out that on day 9 my bloods were over 9000 and they were worried about OHSS. In reality cause of size of follicles I would have been better off going in later. Therefore most of my eggs were immature. Only the one was A grade and the rest (13) were B grade and they dont freeze B grade embies. They said for next cycle they can at least adjust dosage of drugs to get a better result. I now need to make an appt with FS as he is o/s at a fertility convention and we can then decide when we will next try again. DH wants me to wait till early next year, but i think I will probably be OK with a 2 mth break. We'll see. SO I'll still be around, but, maybe not as much as before!
Good luck to every1 I will be following your progress.
Mon :)
Hey Mon - The same thing happen to us last round. My DH always wants to wait after a cycle may be he was right I do feel much better for the upcoming cycle.
Peta thanks looks like I will be close behind you with expected start on the 8th on Lucerin & Perngon.
Baby dust for all :bluedust:
Thanks for all the well wishes regarding my current cycle. Just heard from the clinic and levels are still really low, so they don't want to see me again until Saturday. Of course, this is sending me into a minor panic about the letrozole not working this time, even though I know they called me in too early. Checking the dates of blood tests for my last FET, and I was called in on the same cycle day first up, and then they let me go for 3 days, not 4... minor difference, but enough to make me worry.
And in the usual way these things work... Saturday morning I was supposed to be going to breakfast with friends to celebrate a birthday, meeting at the exact same time as the clinic wants to see me. With a 40 minute drive back here - I don't think it's going to work! Bugger! :(
BW
Hi to everyone, and welcome to Nellie and welcome back to Linda.
DW went off the pill today instead of tomorrow. I suggested she ring the clinic because she reckons AF wants to come now, and not tomorrow. They agreed that stopping the pill today would be fine.
Hi girls and Rols. Sorry for all those not having such great news lately, but also good luck to those about to do their FET's and full stim cycles. BW- its great to see you back under way!! One of the IVF nurses got my artery instead of the vein one day....couldnt move my arm for the next 24 hours, and it bled heaps, so try not worry too much about the bleeding, can be diff each time, and each nurse has different techniques and stuff. Bugger about the brekky!!
Rols- thats great that the FET is coming up soon. One or two??? Well,i know i cant really talk...haha because we put back two, but if i had three frozen (which i think you have), then i think id prob put back one to start and the next time maybe two. Remember to think positive about the thaw rate. You had some great blasts and that goes to your advantage and the survival rate is pretty good. When we had a FET we only had one frozen and it survived. That was stressful!!! Just have good think about it. DH and i are thinking about all the stuff we need to buy!! I dont regret for one minute but we had to beg to have two transferred because of the high success rate for blast t/f. Just think if you have one t/f this time and its a BFN then there is two more in reserve. Its up to you guys, but i hope all goes well. Im not quite sure why they are doing a medicated cycle though, sounds a bit sucky when DW has good cycle and everything. Me- well i am missing home so much. Its a bit like home here (with beaches instead of mud!!) and i think thats why i am missing it more. I think if we are going to be here and its soo much like home, then we may as well be at home.... Thinking about it for the future.... I think my mum being around would be a great help with twins!
Ellie- i hope you got results today and that everything was ok?
Hi to everyone else. Shannon- im sorry those little embies didnt stick :(
Stay well,
Have just posted in my 'melanoma thread'...but just wanted to let you know the prelim report is in and all looks ok! Still checking other tissue but looks good!
Thanks to everyone for your support...I'm such a drama queen...but I've been so worried!
You're not a drama queen at all Ellie. Very pleased to hear that it all looks promising.
Take care
Yay Ellie, so happy that things are ok so far!! Now can concentrate on relaxing and BD'ing!!!! Have fun :)
Ellie, first of all you're not a drama queen and I would have been exactly the same. I'm relieved that it's all looking OK for you. That really is good news and the whole little event puts things in perspective I think.
Mel, thanks for your thoughts and advice. The thing is, our clinic are basically saying two on FET is the norm and I can't see the logic to be honest. I could understand it if we had fragmented embies or something, but apparently ours are fine and it seems like such a high chance of twins seeing as DW has checked out all OK. Who knows, the FS may say it's all a load of crap and one is the only way to go at the moment.
Thank you so much everyone for making me feel welcome.
Well we did injection number 3 yesterday, and I think that we finally got it right. It hurt a lot less than the first two.
We the first couple of times we were being really careful and pushing it in really slowly, which hurt. Last night DH did it quicker, and it was much better. DH was very proud of himself last night, we seem to have got the hang of it now.
I really don't mind needles, so I wasn't too worried about it, but I still get a tiny bet nervous each time right before we are about to stick the needle in :D
A question for you - I know there is no such thing as a 'normal' cycle and everyone is a bit different. But we are going for our ultrasound and blood test next Monday, which will be day 9. If everything is going well then, they said they would give me the go ahead for the trigger injection. Can anyone tell me when you would do that. Is it that night - day 9, or is it usually the next day, or even later? Any advice? Thanks
The trigger needs to be timed really carefully. When the clinic tells you when to trigger, they'll tell you the time it needs to be done, and it all depends on when your EPU is scheduled. My trigger was done at 5:30 Saturday evening, my EPU was scheduled for 7:30 Monday morning. You'll also find that the needles hurt less if the needle goes in quickly, and the drug gets pushed in slowly. I also found that if you took a deep breath, and jabbed on the exhale, you didn't feel it as much. It's all about being relaxed when the needle goes in, if you are tense it will hurt more.
BW
Nellie I am with BW it does need to be timed quickly and for my first cycle I had 2 scans before being given the trigger injection. Glad 2 needle are down for you. The clininc will watch and mointor the folliles and eggs and then give you the go ahead no such thing as normal you are right but it will be right for you :)
Nellie, my DW was very scared of needles but has overcome that having had to get used to the bi-nightly jabs whilst on stim cycle. I administered all of them and would agree that it is better to insert the needle quickly but carefully. I used to head off to the spare room and do all the prep stuff first, then yell out when I was ready. She would come in, having had an ice cube over the target area for about a minute, then pinch a roll of skin and off we'd go.
I would hold the syringe between my thumb and forefinger and insert it in much the same way as you'd throw a dart (but evidently much more gently) then change grip to enable me to depress the plunger; slowly and steadily. In and out was usually an under 5 second process for us. Be sure to insert the needle to beyond 80% of its length, rather than just under the surface. If you pinch up a roll of skin you can't go too deep. I also suggest inserting the needle as close to vertical/straight as possible as any angle seemed to create discomfort.
Ellie, just wanted to pop in to say you're the least dramatic drama queen I've ever met! Lol!
ROFLOL!!! Sushee...we so need to catch up for a coffee and you'll change that opinion within the first ten minutes I'm sure!!!
It's a deal! I'll give you an early assesment over our lattes. :) We should catch up before I go back to work next year. Any othe LTers from Perth want to join us?
hmmm, might be a little bit far for this LTer to travel for coffee...
Hi Everyone,
Just a quick note on our progress. DH and I have both been on Antonia's herbal tonics for close to six weeks now. We can feel a noticeable difference in our energy levels which is a great sign. Have been getting lots of nice comments on my skin lately, which according to Antonia is quite common as well. Had another Pulse Therapy session this morning. Have definitely become addicted to the buzzing. Could do it every day. Starting to get a little impatient but want to stick to our plan of preparing our bodies for a minimum of two months.
Big hug to everyone. Wishing you all the best on your individual journeys.
Love,
Kerri
Hi Ladies
I have been lurking and reading since last week and getting all my emotions straightened our so here i go with my catch up personals and I hope i dont miss anyone!
Kerri - thats great you and DH are feeling so healthy and positive, i definately think its a great idea to get your body prepped beforehand and can only be beneficial tot he TTC process. Good Luck!
BW - Hope the sinus is clearing up and yay to being back underway with your FET! I have everything crossed for you!
Rols - Also big congrats on getting started on your FET and good luck with the 1 or 2 question. I am sure you and DH will work what is best for you! Wishing you all the success in the world!
BG - Hi and i noticed your in the TWW so good luck and I hope you get you miracle before you have to start IVF.
Ellie - Yay on the all clear hope you get the final sign off with no problems! And not a drama queen at all! All this TTC and medical crap becomes so normal when you are using AC that you sometimes forget what a big deal it all is and how emotionally and physically draining, and yet even with such a crappy year you hold it all together. Very inspirational! Can i ask what meds you are going on to conteract the recurrent miscarriages?
Nellie - Welcome and good luck with your scans and injections. I was told by the FS 10 - 12 injections are normally needed before EPU, has worked out that way for us but may be different with others. Oh and the other thing is make sure you keep the needle in and dont wriggle it around subconsciously move it, i noticed by DH started to do that and it was quite painful so just keep it pushed all the way in. Good Luck !
Tigerlinda - Good luck starting injections next week! And its nice to see another Brisbane person hanging around!
JoeSpratt - Glad your second scan looks a lot more promising and you can go ahead with this cycle!!
Hope i didn't miss anyone!
Well we officially got our BFN today and see the FS on Monday to decide what next, until then signed up for personal training sessions twice a week and went to my first weight watchers meeting tonight, my new goal is to shed some weight before Christmas and hopefully improve the TTC as well and well just to feel good about myself and more positive.
Shan
Shannon wow you covered the personals well yes I love catching up with fellow Brissie people as we moved here 6mths ago. Iam at City Fertility you? Moring to everyone else have a great day!
Hi Shan
As soon as my knee heals up I'll be on a 'baby' asprin everyday...then prednisolone, augmentin, clexane and progynora starting day of transfer...along with the usual crinone and hcg boosters...FS expalined it basically as antibiotics and steroids...to cover all the bases. One of the other LTer's at my clinic has just had the same protocol and is pregnant...after 9 cycles! So we live in hope. Good luck hun xxx
Hi Ladies, Im new here to the forum and havent done anything like this before but Im going nuts not having anyone to talk to. We live in a small country town so there isnt any support groups or anything like that. My husband and I are on our second ivf and awaiting our results in four days time.We had one blastocyst transfer at Concept.Did 5 IUI's before that. Was pregnant the first ivf but levels were really low and never climbed . Am so scared im going to fail again!
FloJo hang in there ans stay postive hun the fear is normal but try and think of the joy bubs will bring sending you :stickyvibesboy:
Ellie - Great to hear the plan is under way
Ciao for Now
