Shan, let us know what happens on Monday. As for us, no dramas with the FET cycle so far. Well actually, DW had to ring the clinic last night A/H because AF was behaving a bit out of the ordinary and they didn't answer the msg until this morning which isn't very cool! Apparently their phone switched off but you'd think they might have checked. Anyway, it was no big deal and we just decided to make an executive decision and start the FET drugs today instead of yesterday.

Shannon, we are really happy with our FS, we chose to stay with him, even though he is an associate of QFG, and can't do our IVF closer to home. The other 'local' clinic meant we would have to change FS, which neither of us wanted to do. Not sure on who our FS at QFG Brisbane will be, we are suppose to be seeing Dr DeAmbrosis, but he is away, so we will either be getting Dr Kilvert or Dr Salisbury??

I'm having a little bit of a stress attack over my FET at the moment... apparently my levels this time are way lower than last cycle. I'm finding EWCM, yet the clinic is saying I'm not ready to ovulate. They next want to see me on Monday. My anxiety levels are soaring, which also means ovulation should happen soon... yet my blood doesn't appear to agree with me. Looks like the transfer in the holidays isn't going to work out... unless I ovulate Tuesday, in which case transfer will be the Sunday before I return to work.

I think I'm generally finding this FET more difficult than the first one, simply because the first one was successful. There's a sense of expectation that this one will work because the first one did... which means the crash at the end if it doesn't work is going to be that much harder. So, of course, now I'm wondering if there's anyone out there who had their first cycle work, but miscarry, and then had the second not work? or work? Then again, I'm a pretty odd person when it comes to this IVF stuff - there's just not much I've done the normal way, so there's probably no point comparing myself to others.

Excuse the mindless, selfish babbling... it's a hell of a time to have my psychologist overseas for two months!

Its exactly the same for when you are going to ovulate or when transfer will be. :)

As for the expectations of this cycle being successful, i can't completely relate but i like to think yes its going to hurt when disapointment slaps you in the face but if we don't go into these IVF cycles positive and thinking its going to work and then why would we put ourselves through it in the first place? Hope that made sense :)

Also just wondering my clinic has a free counselling session with a psychologist each cycle, maybe yours has something similar and you could take advantage of that whilst yours is off holidaying?

Rang the clinic this morning see how my little embies are going. We got 8 of the 9 eggs to fertilise which is fantastic and today there are 7 at the 4 cell stage and 1 lagging a little behind with 3 cells. Tomorrow I'll be able to find out how many were able to be biopsied and sent off for PGD. There's a 50/50 chance they'll be the wrong genetic makeup but we could still end up with 3 maybe 4. Won't know the results until the morning before transfer (hopefully we'll get that far!). My DP keeps telling me to try to not get too excited as we could come crashing back to earth but I should at least be able to enjoy each success along the way. I am a realist and know this could end in tears but even if we are able to get a BFP, it'll still end up in tears and I may as well be happy in the meantime and not dwell in the doom and gloom of it all.

Hi BW. I sort of know what you are going through. Our first stim cycle worked and then m/c at 7.5 weeks. Next was our FET and that ended in a BFN. I think i had kinda detatched myself a bit for that one, after everything that had happened i didnt have many expectations, not really. Things that are going to be, will be and hopefully things will go well this time. But honestly, once that embie is transferred, it will implant or it may not and you cant really change that. I know it sucks but what will be will be. Our second stim cycle worked, still scared every day of miscarrying, and that stress never goes away. I say to DH every day that i want an u/s to check if they are still there!! But there is no point for me to totally stress out because those embies will either stick or not... Im not sure if thats any help, but its great that you can get pregnant- i know it sucks to hear that. FS and friends said that to me after my m/c. After the m/c and failed FET, FS said to me i know i will get you pregnant, its just a matter of when, whether it be this cycle or next. And it did work in the end, this time round with my 2ww, i tried to stress less and not read too much into anything. I have everything crossed for you, but please try not stress too much. I really hope things happen for you,

BW, I think Mel's advice is excellent. In IVF terms, it's still very early days for you and I can't see any reason why you wont get there either soon, or later, based on what we already know about your circumstances. The only thing we have control over in an uncontrollable situation is how we react and respond. I have learnt this lesson. You need to let your body be the vessel, give yourself to the process and have faith that it will work. You cannot change the outcome with your mind. This may not be helpful - I don't know - but it's the best I can offer. It may be too direct or something? Feel free to disregard it of course!

Thank you Mel, Rols, Shannon... it's kinda funny sitting here reading your words, and knowing that I've said pretty much the exact same thing in the past. An old friend reminded me of just how far I've come since I started seeing the psychologist, and that was the little reminder I needed. I'm not the old, stressed-out BW any more, so I don't need to react like she did! The new and improved BW is back in place and things are calm(er) and happy again.

I can't promise that there won't be more slip ups between now and transfer - but we are learning more about what triggers these episodes, and what works well to pull me back. I'm putting the focus for the next few days on staying calm and happy and just enjoying spending time relaxing on holidays and spending time with DH... not much else to do, really.

2 Incjections down. Really embarring moment on our team event yesterday when I threw up a bowling. Must be getting old beacuse went home exhausted at 11 and the rest of the team were still drinking. Scan on Friday to find out how the follicles are growing.

Joe - How did you go with the PGD?

Well we saw the FS bright and early this morning at 7am, and more testing this time DH's genetic make up of his sperm, so will be doing that this week and hoping for the best. Other than that will be taking asparin and heparin (??) next cycle and hoping for the best. We are starting on the 150 of puregon again but have decided to cancel cycle if we get any less than 3 viable folicles and then up the dose the next month, its a fine balancing act of making sure we dont get OHSS again but still having enough viable embryos.Oh well we test and then wait for AF to arrive.

Our embies got biopsied yesterday and of the 8 that fertilised, we managed to get 6 biopsied- the other 2 were highly fragmented. They've been sent off to Monash IVF to get PGD tested but we won't know the results until tomorrow morning and then hopefully we'll get some good news and transfer tomorrow afternoon.

So fingers crossed for some good news!

I've been in and out lately - Just been so busy with life other than TTC... which has been ok -Lately I've found this TTC journey a little exhausting!

A big hello and welcome to all of the newbies (you're probably saying - Who is this girl welcoming us?:rolleyes:).... I haven't been around, but welcome anyway!!!!

There's just too many people to try & catch up with personals but I'm home & back on track now!!!

Me - Currently CD17, and am on absolutely nothing - no herbs, meds, nothing.... These lumps on my legs have been giving me hell, and I've seen a different doctor for a 2nd opinion.
Antonia has taken me off everything for a few weeks to make sure I haven't gotten a reaction from anything in the herbs, or that they're not irritating anything.

It doesn't seem to have made any difference - I think they've just appeared from something all of their own :rolleyes:

The new Dr is doing some more blood tests to look further into it - He said they come up as a result of a past infection - Anything up to 6yrs later!!!
After looking at my history with my drama having Luke, and then the 4 failed IVF after that, he's inclined to think they've appeared as a result of the infection I caught after my c/s having Luke.
Although Luke is 9yrs old, the infection was there for quite a few years undetected, so he said this may be the likely cause.
On the positive side, if he can find something there, he said we can treat it, and that will definately help with falling pregnant.... Here's hoping!!!

ANyway, enough of me :rolleyes:... Hoping that everyone is doing ok with wherever they're at in their cycles.

Well, I had my scan and BT this morning, just got to wait patiently for the results this arvo. We are on day 9, and DH and THINK that there was 13 follies. The sonographer didn't say much, just that there was a good number, but they still had a bit of growing to do. From what DH and I could tell from the numbers she was typing in, they seemed to all be between 11-16mm. Not sure if that is good or not for this stage. I just have to wait to speak to the nurse this arvo I guess.

Nellie if I remember right that sounds good I think they look for 18-20mm for egg pickup. Then again the last time the told me the size was my first cycle so don't quote me :)

Big hello to everyone else, hope everyone is well.
Me, Today was day 4 of injections. DH has watched 2 and I think he is making me nervous LOL. He is on nightshift tonight and tomorrow night, so when he gets home Wednesday morning at approx 6.45am, he has to have a quick shower so we can get on the road (and fuel up along the way) and drive the 2 hours to FS#1 for our next scan. Appointment is 9.45am, so hopefully we'll get there without rushing around too much.
Called the clinic today and spoke to our nurse. She was so glad to hear from me and that we have finally started. We had a chat and she asked me to call her when we know what date EPU is, so she can come and see us. Then paid for the cycle...poor credit card.
