Sorry hun, I must have just missed your post...
Ok, I always do my injection (regardless Lucrin or FSH) first thing in the morning. But again, I don't have much side effects, so I sort of read that injecting in the evening reduce your side effect. And with regards to the injection sites, DH does it, so it is on my bottom...I have been responding well in the last two cycles, maybe that's the reason? But Worth a try sweetie...good luck!

Hi All,
Hope everyone is having a good day,
21- Hope you get that little referral in your hands today. It's great when things start to happen for you. Hopefully though this TWW you are in now gives you your BFP and you won't need to worry any more!
Paula- Good luck with all the meds. Mr FS said that there is no difference between the Gonal and puregon. Just like taking panadol and herron paracetamol. I know what you mean though..we get so used to one thing and anything else worries us!!
Ruth- Am thinking of you for Friday. Some of these nurses just assume we know what we are doing with everything TTC related...I wish too sometimes they would slow down and explain things.
BDT- We have EPU an hour apart. Will be good to TWW with you again. Am so glad you are having a great day. It's exciting to get good news.
Where There's Hope- Hi there..welcome to the MASSIVE thread we have here at the moment. I can't help with the spotting I'm sorry, but with the Lucrin and FSH, I always do them at the same time. As for the injections in your bum, I think they say that cause that's where we have the most fat. But most of us can't do our bums on our own!! As long as you inject in the fat on your tummy or leg it should be fine. If you read the instructions in your drug boxes, I'm sure they'll say tummy or thigh. I know you say your clinic aren't very approachable..but if you need to call them, don't ever feel you can't. They are providing a service to you that you are paying a lot of money for. It must be hard for you that you feel you can't approach them though. Fire your questions away here. Someone always has an answer. Hope I have helped.
Cuddlepie- Great to hear from you. Sorry DH's sperm didn't come back the very best. There is so much these FS's and embryologists can do though. It sounds like a great plan you have though. Just to tell you a happy success story. One of my dear girlfriends, who is 42 just got a BFP on her 3rd TF. Her DP's sperm was really not the best. 97% bad they said. But with the magic of IVF and ICSI, they handpicked the best little swimmers and used them. Now she is happily pregnant!
AFM- EPU at 7.45 on Fri morning. All follies around 18mm so I'm ready to lay them now!!!
Hugs Bel

hi there girls - just thought i'd quickly update - my BT results today were 64. So not a BFP or a BFN - I have to go again on Friday. :crossfingers:
I was certainly expecting a BFN, so am thrilled there's still hope (but trying not to get too excited...).
Where there's hope - sorry I'm no help on bottom injections - but it certainly seems to make sense
Cuddlepie - good luck in the lead up to your EPU
Paula - I didn't get Gonal F so can't comment, but maybe a change will be good?
Ruth - don't worry about those evil nurses...kill with kindess I say (makes them look very silly)
Bel - thnx for your kind words. I had a lovely anniv, it was a great night to take my mind off things (tho regretting that small champagne I had given today's (very unexpected) results...)
Milly - well done - fingers crossed for your TWW.
Hopefully I can update you all again on Friday.
Mels

Bel, you are so sweet. I love that story and it gives me so much hope! At least now we are not in Unexplained Infertility basket anymore...YAY for that and hopefully the plan will work...
I like early EPU, just get up early and get it done and over with and still have a whole day ahead of you to rest and put your feet up...will be thinking of you on Friday morning Bel hen, you go and lay lots of eggs...:D
-
Mels77, best of luck for you on Friday b/t, I hope the number will double and triple and it will be a BFP for you!
-
Mels- I'm going to have to tell my girfriend I am using her story today to inspire other people! I was just telling Cuddlepie today about a friend of mine who is 42 and got a BFP on her 3rd cycle. She was using pregnyl which can give you a false BFP and she had a HCG reading of 48 on BT day. Then she went back 3 days later and her HCG was 280...definately a BFP. So you stay strong and keep willing that little one in you grow and snuggle in. I'll be thinking of you.
Cuddlepie- I'm glad I could help in some small way. It is always resassuring and inspiring to hear success stories. I love to pass them on. And I am so with you on early EPU. Just let me lay the egss and rest for the day!!
Hugs to all my friends,
Bel

Cd 21
HI again guys!
had our appointment today and got sperm sample sorted but have to abstain for at least 3 days until my parnter can produce and it can be tested. Doc also ordered std blood work just to rule it all out although im almost certain there is nothing to stress over! I was just wondering if there is anything else my partner should be tested for before its my turn, does he need a physical exam of his "privates" or to check his testicle tubing and such things haha can you believe im a nurse! what im saying is are there any other tests that can be performed on him at all? I am so excited to get some answers yet im nervous and if his swimmers arent up to scratch its not a good sign as you all prob know he cant just pop pills and problem solved, we will be condemned to a world of sterile hospital beds and prodding and poking! Thanks again for the positive reinforcement, too many names to mention, sorry! but you know who you are

Hi Ladies,
Hope you don't mind me crashing your thread. I've spent a wee while looking through your stories. There is so much heartache and happiness out there. This IVF business really sucks doesn't it but we have no choice but to follow through if we are wanting to get pregnant.
I've had two ICSI cycles (both BFN). Have been told by our clinic that the only way I am going to get pregant is through egg donation. It was a shock but now we have accepted this. At least I still have a chance of getting pregnant through egg donation. We are now searching for an egg donor to come to our rescue.
Lovely to read all of your stories, and I hope that everyones dream comes true for each of you.
Have a good day ladies.

Hi Daizy
Good luck on your ED journey. There is also a thread for those on the donor path if you felt like joining in - you are very welcome to. I have an ED and am happy to chat if you ever want to. Just send me a PM.

Can I join in?
Hi Guys,
I would like to join your thread - I hope I belong here and am welcome.
A bit of history on our TTC journey... Hubby and I have been TTC for 2.5 yrs now and have just embarked on the AC journey. I suffer from mild endo, but aside from that there are no conditions that are preventing our fertility (apparently), and therefore we are borderline 'unexplained infertility' or endo affected fertility.
So after 2.5 years, and 2 laproscopies, we have found ourselves at the doorstep of IVF wondering what this journey will put us through now. We have just completed our first IUI cycle, and whilst overall, I found myself mentally strong enough to deal with the self injections, the side effects of FSH and HCG, the end of the cycle brought something I never planned for. The clinic called, with my first positive ever, but saying my levels were very low (hcg of 18) and that it probably would not progress to be successful. 4 painful days later, I discovered they were right. This rollarcoaster I never thought would happen, and turned to BB for some help and so many lovely ladies responded and helped me through. This is why I thought it might be a good idea to join this thread and connect with others out there going through the LTTTC and AC journey. So many times I have felt alone and am only now starting to appreciate the a journey shared can also be a burden lifted.
So now we are about to start cycle 2 IUI. I hope i can share my journey with you guys out there and that I belong in this thread (pls let me know if not). I will go and catch up on this thread and try to familiarise myself with you all.

Welcome to BB Diamond, I am sorry to hear your recent loss, but it is also very encouraging that you got pregnant on the first go. Girls here are so very supportive and helpful so you will find a shared journey will be so much easier than alone.
I wish your upcoming IUI cycle is a success! :D
Daisy, sorry to hear that two ICSI cycles were BFN, hope the ED path will make your dream come true sooner!
-
Hi Diamond - I'm also v sorry to hear about your loss and glad you've shared it with us. For what it's worth, your history sounds very similar to mine. All tests normal and in unexplained category. My first IUI also ended in a chemical preg (HCG was 9). 2nd IUI was totally unsuccessful. I was also v reluctant to embark on IVF (given unexplained status). But it was the right decision - we got 25 eggs (only 22 were mature) and of those only 7 fertilised (and then only 5 survived). So now we know that there is something wrong in the "communication" between the eggs & swimmers. We would never have found this out if it weren't for IVF. One downside (as you've noted) is the medication - but for me, I've found them a nice distraction (odd I know!) and something to focus on each day.
Anyway, not sure if this helps, but it was the right choice for me.
Keep us updated - my fingers will be crossed for your second IUI.
Bel - thank you so much for your friend's inspiring story! I really hope I get the same result. Thanks also Cuddlepie - I'll be sure to update. Gees the next 24 hours is going to go soooo slowly...
:crossfingers: Mels.

Hi Diamond,
Thanks for sharing your journey. I wish you all the luck in the world with your next cycle. I've got everything crossed for you. :)

[QUOTE=Cuddlepie;1458078]
AFM, DH's SCSA result (sperm DNA test) just came back as a 30%, not very good news. But it seems FS has its plan of attack (Menevit, ejaculation 7 days leading up to EPU and handpick sperm in the IVF process), I hope it works in this upcoming cycle. Just get more anxious now as I am new to all these. Anyone have any experience in this area?
[QUOTE]
Hi Cuddlepie
Not sure if any one has responded, but thought I'd let you know our story is similar. My husband had 100% binding anti-sperm antibodies and a few other issues as well.
Basically our FS told us that he would need to ejaculate 3 days before the night I had my trigger for EPU and then not ejaculate the night before the pick up (10am).
Basically the same reason as you have been told to do it - to get a hand picked sperm for ICSI. Like our FS said - it only takes one.
I'm now 10 weeks along after our first ICSI cycle was successful.
Good luck mate.

Diamond- Hi there and welcome i am only new too and this forum is great!
hey guys what else should DP get tested for i saw someone had a DNA test on the swimmers, could that be the problem incompatability between sperm and egg? im going to get tested for pcos, endo and my hormone levels next week at gp is there anything else i should be asking for before i refer to FS?
BEL- thanks for your support too!
day 22 of 28 day cycle- have sharp pains "up there" strange.....
-
Cuddlepie - thanks for your continued support here and on other threads
Mels - I opted out on the butt injection. Seemed a bit weird and unco doing it to myself. Just trying the norm in my tummy roll after all that!
Bel - thank you for welcoming me to the thread. I hope it is ok for me to visit here as not many of the TTC after MC girls are doing IVF and I am very new at this step.
AFM - continuing to cramp this morning (Day 7 FSH). Hoping this does not mean more spotting = low estrogen = cancelled cycle. Now I know what they mean by the roller coaster of IVF. It is the WAITING. Am looking into doing a flare cycle ASAP if this is cancelled. Will broach it with my FS.
