LT TTC after Miscarriage or Loss #10

Mathewsmum- It wil be lovely if there is a surprise BFP if not I hope your embies have a forever bub for you.

Saffy - I'm glad you are able to get away and have some good you time, I think that sounds like a great way to start an IVF cycle. Looks like we won't be cycle buddies this time round!

Minnie - I'm glad you have decided on IVF now and are feeling good about moving forward.

Tasha - I'm with you, I 'm cd17 today and no sign of O. I only have 3 opks left so I may have to actually buy some but if there is no sign of a surge by monday I may just see if FS will agree to trigger me, not sure if they can do that if you are not on an IUI cycle.

AFM - Still waiting on my eggie, my poor old left ovary is a bit slow! Donor daddy did brilliantly on wed at our clinic appointment so much so the nurse commented on "how in love" we are :ROFL: We've had all our bt done and he will have to do a sperm check at the start of the next cycle if we are not UTD (which is never going to happen if this little eggie doesn't get a move on!)
I have been getting lots of baby cuddles in. I had 2 hours yesterday with my old collegue's 3 day old son (soooo cute) and today mindhugs and her bub came around for a while too. :p

Nothing much happening here, finished my second lot of clomid pills, and I have had lots of pains in my ovaries so maybe its doing something. I have my first bt tomorrow as we are doing a monitered cycle this month.

Joeve, no signs of O yet. My cycles are crazy though so I go from lots CM to no CM, then lots again. I have slight random pains every couple of weeks. The only indicator I have of definite O is sore nipples afterwards for a few days.

Tasha oh that's so hard!! Are you having any bt monitoring? I guess you just need to dtd regularly then!!

Tasha - You will find IUI so much easier. I'm a bit like you my O can be anywhere from cd17-cd25 and cycles with no O go to 46 days! IUI is so simple a few injections then I'm usually triggered by cd12 so the cycle is way shorter and totally controlled, no guessing at all. I hope our eggies show up soon!

Joeve - I hope you have a great eggie getting ready.

AFM - Still nothing on my OPK so I will call and see if I can get a bt and a trigger injection tomorrow I've been having plenty of O pain so I'm sure its ready just no LH surge!

Sunbeam - you are so in touch with your body! I hope you get your IUI soon so you can stop waiting for O and start waiting in the 2ww instead! How much notice do they give you and donor daddy before you have to go in for the IUI? Last time we got an hour!!

Tasha - still waiting to ovulate, you poor thing! Hopefully IUI will be much less frustrating for you in the future :pray:

Joeve - are you due to O soon?

AFM - CD4 - I'm feeling a bit tense today. I'm trying to decide whether to tell my parents that we're ttc... and that I have issues. They've booked several trips away this year assuming I will stay in their house and dogsit the elderly dog. They live about an hour away and I don't want to be an unhelpful daughter but I can't imagine dealing with the extra stress of driving all around town from their house, to home, to appointments and work and being without my partner if I've moved onto IVF by then. I tried to suggest professional housesitters etc but they say if I won't stay with the dog, they'll cancel (guilt trip!! :doh:). I know my mother would be a bit upset that we don't have immediate plans to get married :lol: She's a very caring person but has major anxiety about everything - which would stress me out too! Dad would be fine, ha ha. Just wondering - have you all told your families about your fertility issues?

Mich we told ours after our second m/c as my parents had to come to pick me up from hospital after I was admitted when the M/c had some complications... We fessed up to both sets of parents. Was a relief to tell them but extra pressure now because everytime I start a sentence with Guess what??? They get disappointed...

Joeve - Yes it is hard! I hate it. I am not having any monitoring because we are just waiting for IUI. Waiting for police checks to come back then counselling app on 31st and then i guess we start the injections. I booked it slowly because I thought we'd have one last cycle to try. And no, we usually tire of DTD all the time, which makes it so much worse :(

Sunbeam - It will definitely take the guess work out of it for us. I can't stand it any more! Good luck with your trigger :)

Mitch - Tell your parents. If you do they will be able to give you support you will probably need. I told my parents after about 1 year, mum remembers me having very irregular periods growing up too.

AFM: Still no sign of the big O. I've had to order more opk's and am feeling very sad and annoyed. I'm so sick of poas everyday, I've been doing it since CD15, I'm now CD34. Oh just ovulate already!!

Mich: im going to disagree with Tasha here, my parents knew all about my fertility problems but during my 3rd miscarriage my mother was awful to me, completely unsupportive and basically telling me off for wanting another child, we argued and she left and i haven't seen her since, that was nearly 2 years ago and she also turned my dad and brother against me that day so my feeling is if you think your parents will be helpful and supportive then tell them if you want but if you think they won't be or will cause you more stress maybe wait, i don't know, im jaded from my experience but also my inlaws know nothing about what we have been through, they don't even know our children were conceived using fertility drugs and i wouldn't tell them about the miscarriages because they wouldn't be caring or supportive (not because they are nasty but they just aren't emotional involved with us), it would just be something to gossip about amongst themselves

afm: well as i mentioned before i have decided to go straight to ivf, we have an appointment at the end of january, this last cycle was incredible difficult for me for some reason and i just don't think we are getting our best shot each cycle and im at the point of calling it quits so i want to do that trying what we can. im sure i could get pregnant on my own but it might take 6 months and then i'll probably lose that one at 9 weeks again and then so much time has gone past and i'll be done so we are stopping trying naturally now.

im not sure what to do about the lap, its booked for the end of march but when i spoke to the ivf clinic they were shocked i was meant to have one (the ivf clinic is a different one to my current specialist) so now im not sure, anyway i'll see what the fs says, he is the director of several branches of ivf clinics and i have read some good things about him

Thanks you guys for sharing your personal experiences about telling your families :grouphug: It really helps to hear them - good or bad.

Minnie- That is just horrible about your mother, dad and brother. I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I hope you have some supportive friends around you (as well as on BB!) Maybe starting IVF, you can regain some hope about ttc. It will be interesting to hear a second opinion on the lap too! I have a FS appt in early Feb so maybe we'll start the process around the same time :hug: I bet you're counting down to your appointment so you can make a plan!

Tasha - CD 34! That's not fair. :shakehead: Police checks for IUI? Is that only in VIC? They really make you jump through hoops for a baby!

Joeve - I'm glad your family is supportive and I know what you mean about disappointing them! My partner's whole family have known everything since the first miscarriage but now they expect a preg announcement every month... and we all live on the same street! I'll keep in mind never to say "guess what?" :lol:

Sunbeam - any action happening?

I've decided to not to tell my fam yet - so not a decision at all!! Ha ha. While we're really keen to move onto IVF, I have no idea whether the FS will support the idea?!? So I guess I'll just have to say yes to the dogsitting and then at least wait until after I know what the plan is to drop this bombshell on my mother.

Mich - For what its worth my mum and dad have been very supportive but now my mum is a bit too into it all and tends to bring it up every phone call so its hard to know what is best.

Joeve - How's the bt monitoring going?

Tasha - Still no O! Maybe our eggies are off on holiday together!!!

AFM - Still nothing on the OPK. I left a message for FS yesterday but he did not get back to me. He is in theatre all morning and his midwife is not in till lunch time!!! I spoke to the clinic nurse and she said it would be possible to trigger me but I will need a scan and maybe bloods first so hopefully I can get in tomorrow cos I am away this weekend and will miss this whole cycle if it doesn't hurry up.

Whoo finally some action! I am booked for a bt and scan at 8am tomorrow morning and trigger later tomorrow if no surge in my bt, at last! I'll let you know how it all goes.

Sunbeam - yay, glad it's all going ahead starting tomorrow - you must feel more relaxed now. I laughed when you described your mother - I think mine would be like that, calling all the time for updates but also googling day and night and getting opinions from all her 'expert' friends! Aggressively supportive you might call it. Ha ha

Sorry your cycle's dragging Joeve. Hopefully you, Sunbeam and Tasha will all be in the 2ww soon. I might follow a bit behind. I've finished with the letrozole and first BT is on Sat - feels like a long time away right now.

Mich - You have NO idea!!! :rofl: My mother thinks she is a doctor! She would not think to google anything because it would not tell her anything she didn't already know. You would not believe the c*#p she has come up with about what I should and shouldn't to to get pregnant! A selection of dos and don'ts have included...eating lots and lots of beetroot, not driving long distances, not doing acupuncture, herbs or anything not "medical", not keeping the cat biscuits in the kitchen, not letting my friend bury her poor dog in my garden and not doing pregnancy yoga. Each one had some random unfathomable reason to it, all quite beyond logic, but then that's my mum, bless her!

That's hilarious Sunbeam. We mustn't be getting pregnant because of all the cat biscuits in the kitchen and dead dogs in the backyard!!! Mothers, gotta love em! Hope you got good results from your scan this morning :crossfingers:
