I just got back from my FS appointment. Still have no idea whats going on. I have to have a levovist study done, I asked if it was the dye test. He said no, it's much more sophisticated than the dye test. (so basically yes) Googled it and it is basically the same. We both need police checks etc, this is apparently because of new laws the government has implied. So he said to wait for my next cycle (which will be about 40 days away) and book the levovist study in. Then when we have all this done I will have to make another $100 appointment to discuss when the 'superovulation' will commence. When it does, I will probably have to wait for ANOTHER cycle to start which by this time it will be the end of February!
I'm so angry about all the waiting. We have already been waiting for two and a half years! Why did I have to make an appointment for 6 weeks away for him to tell me this? Sorry i just have to have a rant, I feel so let down :(
-
Wow, that's crappola! Sorry he doesn't seem to be in a hurry to get things done. But sometimes FS's like to make sure your tubes are open and everything is in tip top shape before they start treatment. (And they get more money doing this). Why can't you have the levo study now? I thought die studies had to be done pre-O incase you were pregnant.
-
The levovist test has to be done on CD5-9 apparently. I have been PG twice now so we know there is no tube problems. It just sucks, It's probably going to be hundreds of dollars for the test and then more hundreds of dollars for another appointment! Next time I go I will just have to be honest and say is this appointment necessary because i don't have hundreds of spare dollars to waste on 5 minutes of talking! Aaargh!
-
Are you pre-O now? If so, I'd ring the receptionist and see if you could squeeze the study in now. But that's just me... I'm a pest and I like getting my dollar's worth out of an appointment fee ;).
-
Tasha could they induce af so that you don't have to wait so long? I had the regular dye test but my fs was happy to do this so that things could be kicked off. I hope it all goes quicker for you the waiting sucks. Big hugs hun.
-
M, I am CD 17 today so he said to wait for new cycle (day1) and then I call the clinic up and come in the next day for the test.
Keta, He said he would prefer if I waited for a cycle to start.
Thanks ladies, my sook is over.
How is everybody else going?
-
I'm cramping pretty heavy tonight :( is it the gonal F?
-
Sorry Maruschke, can't help you there. Hope the cramps ease up though. AF still being weird?
-
AF is all gone... 2.5 days and she left again :) Sometimes I get short sharp jabs in my ovaries... owie
-
I get random weird ovary pains all the time. Oh what would I give to just be normal:(
-
Tasha sorry you feel messed around. :(
-
Hi girls-
Tasha- I understand your frustarion, waiting is horrible, sorry you feel stuffed around. I guess the thing is the police checks take a while anyway, so hopefully that will all be in place when you are going to do your cycle in Feb. It feels ages away doesn't it? I hope AF gives you a nice surprise and comes early xx
Maruschke-no idea whats going on with your AF, mines all over the shop too but I would love a 2.5 day one as compared to my last two- 8-9days! So do you mean you are cramping after af has finished? I get ovary pains too, no wonder with what we do to them!
Joeve-how are you?
Minniemouse- so sorry to hear you had a chemical pregnancy- how utterly frustrating, big hugs for you xxxx
sunbeam- whats happening with you??
afm- feeling better but geting splitting headaches for the last few days... theres always something isn't there lol. Anyway- the good news is my transfer is booked for THursday- woohoo!! Hurry up Thursday!!!
-
hi girls..minniemouse-sorry that line didn't keep getting darker...saffy- all the best for transfer...fingers crossed for all in the tww...sorry there's been some bfn's..afm-af is due in 2 days time & once again i think it is coming, doing a fet in new year
-
Hi girls,
Thanks Joeve, when are you booking in for the dye test? I hope it all goes well...
Minnie, I'm sorry  I wish we didn't test so early, but it's so hard not to.
Saffy, thank you. Yeah the police checks do take a while anyway and we have to organise a few more things. I guess I just had my heart set on some good news for christmas. Boo to your headaches, I get bad ones when AF comes. Yay to your transfer tomorrow! :happydance: good luck
Maruschke, i am confused as to what you are doing now. Is it like IUI or is it IVF? I'm not familiar with all the terms....
AFM: I received an information pack in the mail today explaining everything we need to do and all the forms. I feel much better now. We will definitely have to curb our spending this Christmas :(
-
I have finished with IUI, moved onto IVF for good now.
Saffy best of luck tomorrow!
-
Hi Lovelies,
Saffy - I hope the headaches ease. Wow that surge took a while, best of luck for tomorrow's transfer babe. What time is it at, i'll be thinking of you
Minnie - Oh babe how unfair another chem. pg, really could this whole thing be more difficult! I hope you are looking after yourself, big hugs :comfort:
Mathew'smum -Good to see you, sorry you think AF is coming your way.
Tasha - This journey is so frustrating, I strongly believe that patience is the greatest lesson I've learnt (though I still struggle with it!) I've basically come to the realisation that the babies come to us when they are good and ready and it does nto matter how much we want it to be right now that's not the way they work! I'm glad the info pack has made you feel better though.
Maruschke- I get heaps of ovary pains and stabbings sometimes around O and sometimes (I assume) when the folllicle is collapsing several days afterwards.
AFM - Sorry I have been MIA but I have been trying hard not to focus on baby stuff and just on finishing up work. I have 2 more days to go then I'm a free woman :D My private practise is ticking along at 6-8 hours a week so I'll still have a little money coming in but I won't be spending money on anything I don't need and it'll be a non-extravagant Christmas. I am now 6dpo and being very zen so far this cycle, lets hope it lasts. I think my "You can get pregnant over 40 naturally" set has helped and I have made a new guided meditation track too.
One Born Every Minute is on, I love this show thought I am quite sick of seeing 18 year olds popping out bubs and their partner is not even there because he's in jail or too hung over from the night before to get there!!
-
thanks girls- transfer went well although Ihave doubts about the quality of my embie, but its in now so will haveot wait and see!
sunbeam-great about nearly finishing work!! I love that show too! Good luck with the last week of the tww, you sound like you will do well with your attitude x
matthewsmum- great to see you but sorry af is lurking
tasha- we're the same, we usually don't budget much but with 2 fets looming and stim early next year if needed we will be penny pinching too, its a pain.
maruschke- good to hear everything is on track for your ivf
-
Saffy and Sunbeam - fingers crossed for you both
Minnie - so sorry sweetie, life's not fair all the time, is it?
