Just a quick update from me for those who are following... We saw our FS this afternoon for our follow up appointment. When I asked, he said the endo was stage III. He showed me the pathology report for the 5 pieces sent away and the two largest bits were each 35mm in size! :o Other than that he said I should take a month to heal and then come back in 4 weeks to discuss another IVF. He also said that, now that the surgery was done, he is confident he can get us pg before the end of this year. I'd like to hold him to that.

Loops - :hug::hug::hug::hug:
Melissal & Murray Cod - try the True Blood series, Twilight Books were great but I've found the True Blood ones fantastic. As for the 'What to Expect' I've only read the pre-conception pages and have vowed not to read further until a BFP ;-)
Melttc - fingers crossed for the next week or so that you have coming up, and frankly it was probably good you turned down the Phillipines trip coz do you really want to see ping pong balls being shot out of someone's clacker during a seedy stage show?.. (hmm, I'm probably just speaking for myself there!)
Juniper: glad to hear you are doing fine now after your procedure (and AF came early for me too after the procedure, so it was like I had a few days break after the bleeding from the procedure and then Bam! AF!)
Lairdoz & KrisGray: hope things get better with your DH's, bloody men!
As for the posts relating to how many to transfer back in, I would love to see statistics on whether chances are increased if more than 1 is transferred back as my FS told me that it does not increase the likelihood of pregnancy. It doesn't help that I am totally in love with all the cuties on Jon & Kate plus 8!
AFM: EPU is this Friday, at my scan yesterday he said there was about 5 or 6 good follies on each side, and another scan is booked Wed morning. I'm still peeing like a racehorse and am so full of water that I've totally lost my appetite, so am getting my protein thru Sustagen. Blastie transfer, if all goes well, is next Wednesday.
Best wishes to you all, and Loops sorry again for what you must be going through, my thoughts are with you.

Wow Juniper! Hope you heal up quickly. Wouldnt' it be lovely if they really could guarantee outcomes?!
 KrisGray. Your clinic's policies sound really restrictive! All the best for that tough conversation
melttc  - Hope your bt brings a lovely surprise
Brunette, what kind of fet are you doing now?
Hi to everyone else - hope you're travelling well (or as well as can be expected)
Oh, and an update on me. We transferred a blasty on Friday. My bt is next thursday (April Fools!). Do other clinics make you wait so long for the bt? It'll equate to 18dpo (well, sort of...). I'm feeling absolutely exhausted. I don't know if it's the hormones or if my thyroid hormone levels are too low due to the extra estrogen.
ETA - CK77, from memory...these are some stats from my clinic (can only remember a few, mostly for my age bracket, but suggests that, yes, it does increase your odds of getting pregnant, at least statistically...)
<35yrs 1blast = 56% singleton pg, 5% twin pg - 2 blasties = 78% singleton pg, 56% twin pg
>40yrs 1 blast = 5% singleton - 2 blasties = 12% singleton pg
-
Marcellus - thanks for those stats - totally not the impression my FS gave me (i'm not at all surprised), but lucky for me he is overseas so my EPU and ET are being done by his colleague who seems much easier to deal with, so I will broach the subject tomorrow morning at my next scan.

marcellus, I've always had to wait until 15 days after transfer... FX for a sticky emby and BFP!
CK, thanks for letting me know that. That's exactly what it was like - a few days without bleeding and then AF. GL on Friday.

Wow, Juniper, good news that your FS is sounding so confident after removing your endo. 35mm sounds pretty big!
Marcellus, I'm doing another HRT FET - an ethanol oestradiol one. As I say, my new FS is very interventionist. I am sure he suspects I have endo, as he wanted to do another lap/hysteroscopy/dye studies but I only had one about 15 months ago and nothing was found. He's got me on so many drugs - quite a few for my underactive thyroid - but others for suspected endo and others for I don't really know why, to be honest! He's already done one endometrial biopsy, and threatened to do another but changed his mind on the day of my scan. I've done multiple BTs for my progesterone and estrogen levels. I've got a HSG scheduled for this Friday. I'm on aspirin and the `roids' and will be on clexane in a few days time. Throw in a patch to place on my foot nightly, a Chinese herb, multivitamin, folic acid, an anti-inflammatory ... and the list goes on! And I naively thought FETs were easier, or more natural, than stim cycles! Still, if it works all will be worth it. Re your question about when different clinics suggest BT, I have noticed some girls are lucky and don't seem to have to wait as long but with my clinic I have always had to wait 14 days post transfer. This can be a longer wait if a blasty is transferred as opposed a day 3 being transferred. Sucks hey? GL to you!
-
Brunette - wow, can i ask why so many drugs? I'm doing a FET cycle this month and haven't needed to take anything. All they are doing is BT's till i ovulate. I can only imagine what all that is doing to your body, do you get many side effects from all that? I guess it is all worth it if it gives you your bundle of joy.
juniper - It's good news they found something, makes it worth while. Your FS sounds pretty confident, that is promising. Enjoy your 4 weeks drug free!!
Marcellus - GL with your TWW. FX this is the one.
Loops - :hug:sorry it's not the right outcome after all that, but you must be relieved to know one way or the other. Stay positive and hopefully we see you back real soon.
KrisGray - I hope DH comes around, although you have technically had three transfers they have all been from the same egg collection. Many clinics and FS say that 3 stim cycles is the norm before an IVF will work. I would definaltely look at other FS or clinics (if you can afford it), I can't believe they don't do anything on weekends. The only thing my clinic won't do on the weekend is EPU. I'm with hunter IVF which is affiliated with sydney IVF, and if they are anything like the hunter clinic i can't fault them. There is a clinic in sydney that does IVF and accupuncture (if your into that) in the one practice, not sure if you have checked that one out also. GL with your decision.
meltcc - FX hun, don't lose faith just yet!!
Hi to all the other girlies i have missed, hope things are going well with you all.
AFM - Had BT yesterday and levels are rising so have another BT tomorrow. I'm a school teacher and have had little bandaids on my arms for the past two weeks and sometimes where they take the blood turns into bruises, the kids have wanted to know if i'm sick becasue of all the tests! Priceless!!! they are quite concerned. As long as they don't think i'm a junkie!!!!
-
Hi Renee, I know what you mean about bruising around veins and feeling like people suspect you might be using! Ha, what a laugh hey? I'm on a lot of drugs because we've done a few IVF cycles now with no success. Apparently we're `hard core' according to our new FS. Plus I have an underactive thyroid and I always spot between cycles, so I need hormone replacement support. Like you, for my last cycle (which was my first FET) all I needed to do was have two BTs and then the transfer, and then hormone replacement in the form of pessaries and tabs. It was a breeze - but not the result we were wanting! GL to you for this cycle!

** Warning - Megapost **
Phew... so much is going on in here. I have been MIA for a while. I will attempt persies, but please forgive me if I'm a bit behind...
Juniper - I'm happy to hear that your FS is feeling confident. Now that you both know exactly what you are dealing with, it will be so much better to treat. How are you feeling? I am almost 100% now after my Lap (with just the occasional tingle in my bellybutton - weird I know).
Loops - what can I say? Big hugs to you. Like you said, you got another step closer than you have been before. Next time is onwards and upwards for you. You have been on the big kahuna of rollercoasters with your cycle this month
Lairdoz - They drive you bananas sometimes. Absolutely NFI sometimes and then can be ultra supportive and sensible at others.
Brunette - Gl on Friday.
Marcellus - Congrats on your blastie. Hope your 2ww does not drag out too long for you.
Krisgray - Welcome. I am with SIVF. The prices are staggering, however I have heard great things. We have not yet started our cycle but am impressed so far.
Kmm - This is a great place to be to share your experience, vent and have unjudgemental support.
Mellttc - :noaf: I know how you feel. In the 3 & ½ years we have been TTC, I have had to buy 19 new baby presents for family, friends and colleagues. Yep 19! I sometimes feel like the elephant in the room around people with babies. I had a close friend call be on the day before my IVF cylce that she was pregnant with #5 (8th pregnancy – 3 terminated) and she didn’t know how it happened and it wasn’t planned! Oops! etc etc. I was further upset later – when she and hubby dropped the kids around on their way to the hospital whilst she had bub – that he said “this one was all your idea”.
I can understand that people may feel cautious, it’s a difficult situation and it sounds like your sis meant well and is very caring. I know tho, that it is still very upsetting.
Renee - GL with your FET. When will it be? It is easy to feel like a pincushion at times.
CK77 - GL for EPU onFriday. Sounds like you don't have a lot of faith in your FS. Hope you get all your answers from his colleague. Are you able to switch?
BTB - Emerald - If you are lurking - a big fat hi to you both. I hope you are travelling well.
:hello: to anyone I've missed.
AFM - Like I said I have been out of action for a bit just trying to regroup. I had my appointment with my FS after my Lap. I have stage 4 endo - he removed some, but also have it quite extensively on my bowel (which more than likely will have to be resectioned at some time down the track). Good news is that he removed some from my uterer. If it had been allowed to grow and penetrate it, it was a possibility that I may have lost a kidney in 5 years or so.
So, I am on medication now for 3 months (1 injection/month) before my next stim cycle. This puts your body into a menopausal state to allow the endo to settle a bit. The main side effects so far is extreme tiredness and I struggle to stay awake past 8pm!
I am still lurking in here but am feeling frustrated that I have to wait another 3 months although my FS said this will increase my chances on the stim cylce. It feels so contradictory to what I want to be doing so I am trying to mentally distance myself all from it all a bit. But you girls in here have been such a great support, I don’t know if I can stay away lol.
BTW – I found a really good book at my local library called. ‘A Few Good Eggs – Two chicks Dish on Overcoming the Insanity of Infertility’. Two ladies in the US who have been through the TTC journey have gotten together to write a candid account of TTC and all the wonderful stuff it entails ie medical facts, relationships, obsessing over cylces, TWW’s etc. It also has a lot of anecdotes from other women. So far, it's a good read if anyone's looking for something other than google to satisfy their hunger for knowledge LOL. (I am the google queen)
-
Brunette - my FET was the same as Renee's ("natural" FET) - no drugs before O, just monitoring and then progesterone after transfer. I don't think I'd be keen on a HRT FET by the sounds of it!! But we'll do whatever it takes, won't we! ;)
Renee, that's cute that they care about you. :) FX you don't have much longer to wait. :goodluck:
Tantee, funny you should mention that, because the belly button one has been slowest to heal for me. I'm still wearing a bandaid over it so my clothes don't rub on it (I never wear dresses) but my jeans button is digging into it today... What injections has he got you on? I really hope all of this gets you a BFP with your next cycle!
Afm, baby mania is about to hit this office. My manager is gearing up to take his 3 weeks paternity leave (for #2 - they started TTC#1 the same time we did :( ). Then not long after he gets back the man in the office next to mine leaves on his paternity leave (again for #2 - they started TTC#1 the AFTER we did - double :( ). There were lots of nappy and sleep deprivation jokes in today's office meeting...
-
Juniper - the injections are Zoladex. I have read mixed reactions to this but have all faith in my FS and so far the effects are bearable.
-
wow brunette, sounds like they are throwing everything at you but the kitchen sink! fingers crossed this is the one!
Hope you can enjoy your break tantee - sometimes it's just what we need  And definately hoping it helps you get your bfp too
I wish I could do a natural FET... i hate these blasted pessaries. Doc reckoned HRT was the best way to go with polycystic ovaries

Hi girls
so sorry i have been MIA. I have had an assignment due and then we were one of the fortunate people in Perth to lose power for almost 36 hours after Monday's storm, so still haven't finished my assignment and haven't been able to check in with all of you.
I'm at work and only have time for a quick post, so sorry for no personals. But I have had a quick squiz and good luck to all who are waiting for something.
Loops - I was so sory to read your news. *hugs*
AFM - I went in on Monday for my first scan since starting the puregon and had a lot of follies growing (which was quite exciting for someone who doesn't ovulate). After the scan the nurse told me that they would possibly see me for EPU on Wednesday, but it just depended on the bloods. I was so excited at that prospect, as I wasn;t expecting my ovaries to respond so quickly on such a low dose (125IU puregon) if at all. Obviously bloods weren't quite right because they rang that afternoon and said come for another scan on Wednesday and EPU will likely be Friday. They called me earlier and yes my EPU will be Friday. I had about 14 follies on my right ovary, ranging from 1.2 to 1.8mm with one being 2.4mm and another 7 or something on the left, all between about 1.2 and 1.7mm. So I'm a bit wary of OHSS, but they didn't seem to be too concerned. I am so excited and nervous at the same time.
Due to the storms, the hospital where my clinic is has been damaged in some parts (including where they do the EPU) so I have to go to another clinic to get the EPU done. So that will be a bit weird, because I don't know them, but I guess, since I've not done IVF before, I don't really know the people who do it at my clinc either! And to weigh into the DH/DP debate, mine has been so fantastic to me, however when I rang him today to let him know about Friday and told him the process would be:
- me admitted at 7am at 'other' clinic
- he goes back to our clinic (only around the corner) to deposit his fresh sample
- he comes back and waits for me at other clinic
- we both go back to our clinic for run down of meds and protocol post EPU
he seemed a LITTLE put out... I was at work so couldn't say much, but its like, ummmm I'm going to be getting a needle up my you-know-where and you're worried about a couple of trips around the block??

Hi Ladies
Just a quick one from me - AF arrived right on time yesterday. So no BFP for us this time......just as I had anticipated.
-
melttc - so sorry to hear that hun  we are here if you need.
-
melttc, those are the predictions I hate getting right. :comfort:
mellybelly, sounds inconvenient, but after all you're going through, what's a little inconvenience? I hope it all goes smoothly.
-
Damn melttc  I was so hoping to hear she hadn't arrived
-
Hi ladies
sorry I haven't been around and really not much time for persies today trying to catch up on work been on a course for 3 days.
Melttc just wanted to pop in and tell you how sorry I am that this wasn't your month
promise I'll catch up with everyone soon and hope to see some positives coming through soon
