DEar bb 73,
I hope your blood test goes fantastically. Do not read the post on blood tests and needles before you go. Wait till you get home. Ultimately just relax , and get yourself into that deep meditative zone. Make yourself have that relaxation that we all crave. Thats how i got through it and i never even felt a thing . The nurses were like you are amazing...Let us know how you get on and when your ultrasound is!What day of stims are you up to?My body was a little lazy getting the follie growing but then i surged by myself and didnt need the ovidrel. I really hope things are going great.
-
Hi polly, thanks for the advice. I am really good with needles and blood tests. The nurses usually have a battle to find a vein and I have to use a hotpack on my arm for about 20mins before they even attempt to find the vein. But I have a fantastic nurse who has no problems at all. I am currently on day 4 of the puregon shots and from memory the nurse said she expects my first ultrasound to be this coming saturday. But you just never know with these things. Will let you know how i go with the bloods tomorrow.
Belinda
-
Well, first blood test down. Had the call from the clinic, all going fantastically. I am going back for my second bloods and first ultrasound at 7.30am tomorrow morning. This may progress quicker than I thought! Hope you are all well, and resting up!
Belinda
-
Hey Belinda, nice to hear that your blood test went well. Good luck for tomorrow and let us know how you get on.
I can't believe how fast an IUI cycle goes, it's been 4 days since IUI and I only started this cycle on the 25th Feb... time fly's when your having fun hey??
Hope all is going well with everyone else....:D
-
Have a question for you ladies, since having the IUI 4 days ago I have very sore BB. Other than that yesterday and today have some slight cramping...I don't want to look too much into these signs as they could be from the injections,,, has anyone else noticed anything post IUI??
-
Hi Ladies,
Had second bloods and US this am. Little bit disappointed with there only being 1 nice follicle, but I guess I should be thankful that I have one, and you only need one right?! Clinic just called, and it's all systems go for tomorrow at 11am.
Nicole, I was only thinking to myself this morning how quick the cycle is. I only started the injections on 1st March, exactly one week before the IUI itself. :crossfingers: we all have success with our first attempt. Which state are you in? I'm NSW
Belinda
-
Belinda, as they say one is better than none... like you said yourself you only need one...
I'm also in NSW, and going to the Westmead Clinic.
Good luck for tomorrow, it's not painful at all just stay calm and relaxed and it will be over so quickly.. promise that there is nothing to :D
-
Nicole, thanks for the advice, I am really looking forward to it! Are you at IVF Australia or Westmead Fertility Centre? I am going through IVF Australia at Castle Hill, then to the Westmead clinic for the procedure.
-
Oh boy,
Things are getting so exciting.... Belinda baby.Goodluck:fertilise: I really truly hope this is THE cycle for you. Nicole is SO right the procedure itself is a walk in the park!
Nicole:I am trying so hard to not imagine things but it is so hard not too. I have the worlds sorest nipples in history. And an achey(period like)tummy. God knows how i'm going to wait out! Fingers are so toally crossed for us baby that this is the month for us. Imagine how cool it will be to have you,me and belinda all go through together.

Hey Belinda, I am going to IVF Australia (Westmead) @ Caroline Street.
:crossfingers: everything goes well for you today :D
Polly, am soo glad you said that you too have sore nipples, I can't even sleep on my stomach at night....ditto on hard hard the waiting is going to be.
I have my first bloods on Monday, do you recall of what it is they are testing for??
I have a feeling it was to check levels etc....but not too sure what else.
-
Hi Nicole and Polly
Well that was a walk in the park!!! DH was helping out the nurse, having a good old anatomy lesson, I said he would never look at me the same again!!! He is one happy boy as he gets to DTD all weekend!!!
Nicole, I believe the first blood test is for progesterone levels, to make sure you have ovulated. Mine is next Friday. The sore BB's for you both sounds very promising. :crossfingers: for all of us. Hope you have a fantastic weekend - you know what I'll be doing!!!!!!
Belinda
-
Hey Belinda,
Have an enormous amount of fun dtd on the weekend. I was at the same place last weekend. I actually said to my dp if i ever see your D@ck it will be too soon. he was like "Baby don't be like that"! I definetley ovulated because the feeling went away within 48 hours. The urge-was gone. Now i'm like "Get away from me" I don't even want to kiss in case it leads.....hehehe. Ewwwww. he is back to being mere male instead of my superhero missionary man!! Ha. At least we had fun. I think we tried every room in the house, using all the furniture. We'll never look at the dinner table the same.:doh:Well hopefully it will be a while before we do it again.:fertilise::stickyvibesboy::bluedust:
-
Hi Belinda, glad to hear that it all went well, you gotta love the talk they give you after the IUI on BD for the next few days
Polly, you cracked me up!!
Looks like you and DH will be eating off stable tables for a while...
I had the worst night sleep last night can't sleep on my belly, or my sides......gravity is a S?!t
Will ask the nurse tomorrow how normal it is to have sore BB after having treatment.
Hope you all have a great day :D
-
HI Girls!
I have come up for air:p...hahahahaha!!!!! My mum came over so DH has gone for a round of golf. Polly, you had me in stiches! It is so funny that they tell us to go home and BD all weekend, I can just imagine what is going through our DH/DP's heads at that exact time. I just said to my DH enjoy it while it lasts cause it ain't gonna happen like this all the time!
Nicole, good luck with the bloods tomorrow, let us know how you went.
Belinda
-
Hey Girls,
Goodluck tommorow Nicole. I am so badly crossing my fingers that you are pregnant. i think tommorow they may be checking your hcg levels to see if there is a rise indicating a pregnancy. God i hope so. My doctor said if no period by the 19th to get my blood test done;hopefully to confirm a pregnancy. God i hope so. I've been doing a lot of odd things in the last couple of days that i would never normally do. i went for a swim at the beach this afternoon till tonight and i absolutely loved it. It was so invigorating.
Belinda:
Great to see you've resurfaced. It wasnt really the weather for it was it lovey. Oh well, you do what you can. Hope you had heaps of fun.Wink*wink*. Cause soon your poor hubby will have to w*nk,w*nk. I know i'm a very up front kinda girl.
I want this so much for all of us. It sounds really dumb but i have made good friends with you girls and i feel a bit like one of the three muskateers. All for one and one for all.:grouphug:
Nicole;please let us know what you know, when you know. We are itching. god fingers crossed.:stork-boy::happyforyou:
-
God knows how i'm going to concentrate on work tommorow Nicole i'll be thinking of you all day. will you get your results back on the same day?Its a public holiday here in Melbourne?
-
Hey Musketeers  Love it Polly
Had my blood test this morning, they said they would call between 2-4pm so not too long to go. I don't think they can tell at this stage if I am PG as that test is next Monday.
Other than that my BB are still sore but that could be due to the injections?
Are you two having any strange feelings or anything since the IUI?
Hope you are a having a nice day off Polly..
-
Blood tests are in progesterone level is 78...so all in all have O.
There is no way of telling if I am PG so I will have to wait till next Monday.
Polly when are your first bloods?
-
Pollyanna im still here.. not much to say as im just waiting for AF to arrive so i can have lots to talk about too :( Its not often that you hear TTC women wanting AF to arrive but i cant wait. I really want to join your party in here. LOL Oh and i have to comment on your post about DTD in all the rooms and on all furniture.. :cryinglaugh: I love it! Might have to steal that idea and make Dh one happy man!
Nicole you must be going insane! Monday cant come quick enough i bet! Best of luck in keeping your sanity till then :wall:
-
Hey Paula ....:crossfingers: AF arrives soon so you can join the Party :happyforyou:
-
Hey Girls,
Well i don't have my first blood test until the 19th and hopefully it is only to confirm a pregnancy. Hey nicole why did they take your blood if they cant tell you anything.?:o
Oddly today i worked ten hours on my feet and it didnt worry me one bit!Couldve done 12. Thats very strange for me. As far as possible symptoms. My nipples arent as sore. I've been very windy and achey and tonight nauseas(but maybe cause i ate too many aniseed rings)hehehe.:doctor: I don't know how i can possibly wait till the 19th. I wish i could get my mind off it!So Nicole as per usual it looks like I'm 2 days behind you. I test Wednesday and you Monday. god i hope this happens. I so dont want either of us to be upset. :crossfingers:
-
Hey Polly, it struck me a little strange that they did a blood test before a PG test.
I guess they want to make sure that I Ovulated?? And I guess the only way it can be done is to check the progesterone level??!!
You know I have only thought a little about this cycle and if it fails not that I want it to, but if I had do it all again it would be ok.
My body responded well and I guess you gotta look at positives.
However I know that I would still be completely gutted....
Anyway enough doom and gloom...this is the tread of good things....after all we are the three (soon to be four with Paula) Musketeers :dance::dance::dance: soon to be very :bellyrubs::bellyrubs::bellyrubs::bellyrubs:
-
Hello Fellow Musketeers!
Nicole, good to see your levels were ok today. Just a little bit of info that may help you and Polly. I was told by FS that if you are going through IUI or just having general bloods for fertility, the FS will test you approx 7 days after IUI (or day 21 of 28 day cycle) for progesterone levels. This is a good indication that ovulation has/has not occurred.
Polly, are you only going for one blood test? I have my first blood test on 14th to check progesterone then my pregnancy test on 24th. Nicole and I are both using IVF Australia, so maybe this is their protocol? Are either of you having the HCG injections every 3rd day after IUI was performed? FS has got me on 1500iu. The reason I asked is I know of someone else who has gone through IUI and she wasn't required to have the HCG injections.
Paula, hope AF arrives soon so you can ride this rollercoaster with us!!
I'm off to bed, got a big meeting with my sales team in the morning, at least my mind will be on other things besides TWW for half the day!!!
Belinda
-
Hey Belinda, I am not on any HCG injections...did they say why you are?
-
Hi all
I just had my first IUI about 3 weeks ago and had 2 good size follicles, hubbies count was great, I ovulated perfectly was supposed to have my pg test this Friday, but I got my period today
Going to IVF Australia at Westmead tomorrow to confirm that I am not pg, and hubby is away interstate so feeling very alone at this stage and very sorry for myself.
Does anyone have any success stories that they can share to lift my spirits?
-
Hey Bexgirl, I noticed this is your first post...so welcome to BB :D
As for AF that horrible witch I am sorry to hear she arrived  when DH is away.
I'm sorry I don't have any success stories so far as this is the first time I too have done an IUI.
I have read many posts on the internet on how sooo many fall PG on their first attempt so keep positive and hopefully if you are doing another cycle that next time you get a BFP:pray:
-
Hi Bexgirl,
I'm so sorry to hear that AF has arrived. And for her to show her face whilst DH is away is just plain ****ty! I'm also going through my first IUI this cycle, so I can't give you any advice, I can only say to stay positive. We are always available for you if you need to talk. You, Nicole and I are all going through IVF Aust, although I do flit between Westmead and Castle Hill. If you ever want to get together in person for a chat, let me know.
Nicole, rang the clinic to ask about the HCG injections post IUI and was told it is to help support the lining of the uterus for implantation. I'm not positive, but I think I can remember the FS saying that mine was a little thin when I had an ultrasound a few months ago. And let me tell you, I had my first injection tonight and that little sucker hurt!!!!! The needle isn't as fine as the puregon or the trigger. Nearly made me cry. I have my first blood test on friday and my next injection is also due then so I may ask the nurse to give me the injection as I don't know if I will be able to give it to myself again.
Hope everyone is well, talk soon
Belinda

Thanks
Hi Nicole & Belinda
Thanks for your kind words and support, it means a lot to know that we are not alone. It is dissappointing though especially since we have been trying for nearly 2 years and we really thought that this was it, but as any unwanted houseguest, good ole' AF comes to visit without warning.....
I have my fingers crossed for both of you for a positive result. Please keep us informed how you both go.
Cherie:)
-
Belinda you are so brave, I could't give myself the puregon or the trigger injections...so I take my Musketeer hat of to you :D
Cherie, your very welcome... find comfort that we are all in the same boat just in different stages.
-
AHi My muskateers!!!!
Well we have some newbies. i must extend a bow, handshake and cuddle to them!!:grouphug: Very sorry to hear Cherie that your first iui was a bummer. Really sorry:cry:
As for the injections after iui when i had my ultrasound to measure the follies she said my endometrium looked lovely and thick and fluffy. Very cosy. Hehehe. so maybe thats why i didnt need to have the injections post iui.
Paula, Where are you?
Where is Af; she needs to get a wiggle on for a change. When you don't want her she rocks up unannounced and when you do-ya can;t find her anywhere!:wall:She is a pain in the buttox,,,Speaking of botox-i want some. Just worried its not the best thing to do whilst ttc-putting poison in my body dosent sound to good. nyway knowing my luck I'd end up looking like the joker.
Nicole and Belinda: this tww is killlllling me. Aaaaarghh. i have a rdo today and its all i can think about. At work i don't have time for my "own"thoughts. Thankfully. How am i ever going to get through the next few days boggles me. You girls must be feeling the same. But the waiting:doh:
Keep me posted on how you are all travelling:
-
Hey Polly, ditto on the tww killer!!
Are you going to do a hpt a day before your blood test?
I am soo tempted to do one on Sunday, but I don't know??!?!?!?1
:crossfingers: on BFP for Monday, Wednesday and for our fellow muskateers to follow
-
[FONT="Georgia"]Hey Nicole,
Poor me i work in a pharmacy and i already have one ready to go in the bathroom cupboard.:p We have just had a shop refit at work and yesterday i was restocking all the shelves looking at all the pregnancy tests and baby stuff. Grrr its so hard. i'm very determined to not test as i don't want to jinx myself and i know how extremely stupid that sounds. It sounds so dumb. Do you think you can wait? And you know what i got my diary out and blood test is meant to be tuesday not wednesday. I think i'll make myself wait anyway. I worry every single time i go to the toilet analysing the toilet paper;thinking will this be the wee that shatters my dreams?Or is she staying away for a long time...
Fingers crossed that this is the month that the muskateers rule.:crossfingers: And all for one we have lots of babies. Yeeeah. lets have twins
Ok maybe one will be enough. we will be so blessed to have one perfect little:babyneutral:
I can feel it in my bones..:grouphug:
-
Hey Polly, I too have a pack of HPT in the cupboard waiting for me but will try and stay strong and not test.
Are your BB still sore? Mine aren't as bad as last week but still feel bruised.
Other than that I feel the same.
-
Hmmm
Nope sore boobs gone, but i do have an achey tummy... I keep going to the loo to check. This is going to be akiller the next few days. How unreal on you having a birthday party;thats brilliant!. and i bet you arent drinking-just in case.....:cryinglaugh:
-
I know the loo run all to well, I go when I don't even need to...just to check.
Sunday should be great to catch up with family and friends but like you said I'll probably keep away from the drinking just incase.
-
Hi Polly, I am a regular user of botox, but was told by my surgeon that he would not inject anyone who is trying to fall, or who are pregnant. There are not enough studies to show if there are any ill effects on the baby. It has been over 12 months since my last lot and I can see myself ageing more and more everyday. The minute I finish breast feeding I will be calling Dr for an appointment!!!
Because I am having the pregnyl injections (which are HCG) I have been told not to do a HPT as I will get a positive even if I'm not pregnant. I guess in a way it is good as it takes the stress out of deciding to test before the bloods. The other ****ty thing about the pregnyl is that it can cause some people to experience pregnancy like symptoms. But at this stage I'm not feeling anything.
Polly, I am a sales rep and spend most of my working day in my car, on my own. I have too much time to think about things!! It does my head in some times.
Nicole, I hope you enjoy your party on the weekend. I have given up drinking at this point, but you should be able to have one glass. A friend of mine was told by her GP the day she found out she was pregnant to go home and have a wine in celebration! I have a party to go to this saturday also. It is my girlfriend's 2 yo daughters. And there will be a lot of babies in attendence. Not sure how I will feel, but I am hoping all the baby germs will rub off on me!!! Then it's off to the footy - my beloved eels vs the Dogs!! I love football season, my husband thinks I grow balls in winter! I tend to stay home for 26 weekend in a row and watch every game of footy and my social life takes a nosedive. Good thing one of my best friends loves the game as much as me and also has a season pass to Parramatta Stadium otherwise I would be a complete social outcast!!!
-
Hey Polly im still around.. Still waiting for Af  so nothing much to report thats why i havent been around but i am stalking all you lovely ladies and cant wait to read about all the BFP's!
-
Hello fellow musketeers, with only 4 sleeps to go the waiting finally made me crack at work today.
Knowing you have to be patient when trying fertility treatment is logical, but logic is not helping me at all today.
I feel like I put on this brave face and tell the world that if I keep busy I will convince myself that I am ok.
In truth we all know that is a lie....
Anyway sorry for the feeling sorry for myself speech.
Paula, glad to hear that you are still stalking.... that AF hurry's up for you so you can get started...
Belinda, that must be a killer spending time on your own driving around with all your thoughts. I sit in front of a computer all day with and can log onto the net and read and read... it too does my head in :wall:
Polly, ....only 5 more sleeps for you to go!!
Cherie, hope your doing ok since AF. Is DH home yet?
-
Well Girls;
Its all over for me.:( I got up this morning to be greated in full force with Af. Raging like there is no tommorow. I havent cried. I feel kind of numb. My first reaction was astonishe=ment(because i was so sure)then anger at my body for letting me down once again and having wasted all this damn money on fertility treatment:angry:.It sounds stupid and i don't mean to be too philosophical but is god trying to tell me to not tempt fate. I have two wonderful adorable healthy kids. Maybe enough is enough. I'm sure i could pickup more hours at work to keep me busy. This just isnt really the plan i had in mind. I see how much all of us would love another child. Even my older kids,11 and 8. In fact especially them, but really do i want to be having a baby at 38. I most certainly didnt want to be carrying a baby over the hottest months of the year and yet that would now seem likely. My fs was lovely and said i can imagine how hurt and disappointed you are and he even said he was sorry. Which i thought was beautiful. I told him i was having second thoughts. He said sleep on it and think it over. I still have a few days up my sleeve to think about things.I also said myself that i'm probably not thinking with the right part of my brain at the moment to go making decisions,so a couple of days should help. you girls know me a little now, what do you think i should do and how should i be feeling or viewing this situation:rolleyes:. I really care for you girls you have been a wonderful support and i value your opinions deeply.:grouphug: Please tell me when you get your BFP's i will be so delighted for you and elated and honoured to share in your joy. At least i can drink on the weekend now.Heheheh:dance:
-
Oh Polly, I'm so sorry that she showed up :(
Give yourself and your body some time, the hormones alone may be playing tricks on how you feel at the moment.
It would be a comfort to have two beautiful healthy kids, but it's not wrong and I don't think you would be tempting fate to want to grow your family.
Try and get some rest and treat yourself with anything that can help numb the pain.
Take care of yourself and know that your musketeers are here for you :grouphug:
..
