I O'd on Saturday so 4DPO today.
Hi Ladies,
I have a question that I hope you can help me with. Do you know if you will ovulate from both ovaries if you take Clomid? I had an ectopic recently, and it looks like the ovary on the other side is not that active. My doctor told me not to TTC this cycle since I am ovulating on the side of the bad tube. My tube was saved, and HSG showed it is open, but it may still be damaged. My doctor also wants to put me on Clomid to stimulate the lazy ovary, but my concern is that I will ovulate from both ovaries, so this would increase a chance of another ectopic.
Advanced thanks for any info you may have, I am really lost here and do not trust my doctor anymore.
Omg I have just popped in cos I was chatting to Tamara and heard the devastating news! Bec honey, I am so awfully sorry for your loss, you have been through so much I was certain this was your one! I just can't believe it, Porsche is so right, the universe really does have some explaining to do! Sending you loads & loads of massive hugs hun, hoping to absorb some of your physical & emotional pain! I am in utter shock & am completely devastated for you! Take care of yourself gorgeous! Small consolation but I conceived with only 1 working tube, my left tube is blocked & will not carry eggs, just wanted to give you some encouragement to not give up! Thinking of you with all my heart Hun!

Luna,
Firstly sorry to hear about your angel babies, and your ectopic. I've just been through same, although I lost my tube.
Clomid doesn't work quite like that. It can stimulate follies on either side, but they can check which side the dominate follie is on and possibly cancel ovulation? I'm not sure if it works the same with clomid but they can do it with injectables. Can I ask if you are seeing a Fertility Specialist or a GP? If you are seeing a GP, I think you need more specialised help. I see an FS at Melbourne IVF, just get a referral from GP and book in. I see Kate Stern, but I've heard Fleur Cattrell is good too. Jump on the Melbourne IVF website and read their Bios.
TTC is hard enough, but not tructing in your Doc makes it worse. I did it for too long before I changed FS' and I'm so glad I did.
GL with everything.
Bec
Thanks Kel, I'm doing better. I'm feeling more positive about the future than I was, although I'm still sad. FS has suggested I can still do OI/IUI for 2 more cycles before I tackle IVF so that was interesting. Apparently my good tube can collect eggs from the left side if I ovulate over there. Weird hey?
Hope you and Olive are doing well,
Hi girls, good luck with this cycle!
Bec
Hey Bec, yeah I found out that you can still concieve from your left ovary (even though the tube is blocked or not there) from my FS, when she told me mine was blocked, pretty cleaver hey? Glad to hear you are feeling a little better today hun. I'll keep popping in from time to time to see how you are, I am now more than ever super keen to see your little ticker at 12 weeks, I KNOW you will get there hun, you are so strong.
Little Olive is just great, she has her first cold at the moment, poor little poppet!
GL ladies, cant wait to see more sticky BFP's very soon!

Luna: i answered you in the other thread
i have a question for you all (in a minute) i still negative opt's here, it seemed to be darker a few days ago, it seems to do this, gets darker (but not positive) then goes away again a bit and then a week later happens again so im wondering if the egg isn't that great when its finally released. do you think 100mg of clomid would make me ovulate sooner or "stronger", for those on 100mg do you ovulate earlier in the cycle. i have pcos so im wondering if that is causing a problem with egg quality
I don't know about 100mg. But I know this is why my FS gives me a HCG trigger shot. It does the final maturation of the egg and ruptures the follicle. It is supposed to be mimicing the function of LH in an unmedicated cycle. So I guess it's something to ask them, but it could help if you think you are not getting enough LH to rupture your follie at the time when it is at it's healthiest. Hope this helps and sorry I couldn't really answer the question. I also have PCOS and this is why I started clomid+trigger straight away.
AFM totally crap day, the buyer pulled out on our contract... so now all our plans are up in the air and the house we wanted, we can't bid on. Totally peeved. Have this negative feeling coming over me that we will have the same luck this cycle. Ugh. Sorry for the random vent.
xoxo

Is anyone planning on starting IVF soon? We may have the opportunity to start 1 month before we planned to. We have done all the pre-ivf stuff and can go whenever.......... Knowing that we can start earlier has made it all too real and I am having little freak-outs today. I wonder if anyone else is in the same situation?
All the best with it! The people I speak to in real life about IVF say that physically it wasn't anywhere near as bad as they psyched themselves up for, but the ladies over in IVF/ICSI threads might be able to tell you more :). Are you emotionally ready though? You have waited 4 years, and it's only one month between your two start dates... so I guess I would go for it so long as I felt mentally / emotionally prepared for what was ahead.
It is more exciting than scary really :).
I guess that's what I'm asking myself........It is very exciting and I'm sure I can manage it.........I really don't know what I'm asking myself. Probably just afraid. Hmmmm
Thanks Maruschke x
