LTTTC & Assisted Conception ~ February/March '06

Firstly - Meredith - WOW Congratulations. I'm so happy for you. I know deep down that this is it for you. Well done.....

Secondly - Hi to everyone else, sararms - good luck with the follies, hi lil-chookie (loved your website too by the way), hi ~Jane~ - how's things with you, Leis - how are you hon....hope things are good with you...

Okay - ME - Well it seems i jinxed myself when i posted on Thursday and AF arrived Friday. I'm okay with it. Each cycle that goes by things are progressing - hormone levels etc - so i know that it has to happen soon.

Well i started on clomid again this morning. I've had my dose increased to 100mg and they've changed my days from 5-9 to 3-7, so we'll see if that does the trick.

Thank you all so much for the kind words over the last few days and here's to everyone getting their BFP's (except Meredith now who's already got hers - you go girl) very soon. xxx

Glad that you are remaining so positive -you have a great attitude.

Hi ladies

Well day 12 of stimming tomorrow and back to the hospital for scan and blood test. Hopefully I will be ready to collect on Wednesday and have transfer on Friday, although I'm seriously considering 5 day transfer. The hospital may reluctant because of my age and because i haven't failed that many times, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

my left side is beginning to get a bit tender. It did last time as well. It is reacting to the stimms alot better than the left and feels like it's at least double the original size! So we'll see how it goes and I'lllet you know

Mrs Mac - So sorry af found you. Your positive attitude towards it & the direction you are headed is awesome. It IS going to happen for you VERY soon. :)

Well as it turned out they must have been af pains because af is in town and that gives me a 27 day cycle!!! I have never had a cycle that short in my whole history of having af!!! So at least I can get it out of the way and get back to it. So no baby for Christmas 2006 (it is my wish every year for us to have a little one to share Christmas with), here is hoping for one for Christmas 2007.

Mrs Mac - I'm so sorry that AF showed up :( I hope the 100mg does the trick for you this cycle.

Jane - I hope a couple of extra months on the clomid does the trick for you :pdust: and you'll be heading over to PALTTTC very soon!

Quick update from me ... AF showed up yesterday, so I'm on round 4 of Clomid (100mg). DH's sperm results were <1 million, so I'm not really expecting much this cycle either.

Our first IVF appt with Dr Bob Watson is in 2 weeks time, and I'm feeling quite positive about it, as it seems like the first good solution that will address DH's and mine problems, instead of the clomid which is only really addressing half of the problem. So, I'm really looking forwards to meeting with Dr Watson and sorting out a plan of attack :)

Congratulations Merideth [-o< that this is the one, the clexine stings BUT all is forgotten soon enough.

Not much happening here...I feel dreadful almost ready to abandon this cycle as you couldnt possibly fall pregnant and feel so shocking

I am positive I am ovulating, had the ewcm (I know tmi) sore left ovary and I had ferns on the maybe baby, so there will be :bd: in the household tonight LOL, although technically I am day 12 but all the signs are there

Cherie - sorry to hear you have been down in the dumps lately, good to see you back on board and feeling positive again. Hope clomid does the trick for you too. My DH has low count as well but I am trying to be positive one of them will make it to the egg soon, in some way or another

Mrs Mac - you're on the same dose as me good luck with it, I hope it treats you well. I must say though, I have been having having hot flushes all day. I was so embarrased at work today, I was in someones office and when I stood up I had left a bum imprint on their chair I was so hot :shock: pmsl

Just thought I'd let you know that it IS official - I am 4 weeks and 1 day pg with and HCG today of 930 and progesterone 154!
Next BT Thursday to see levels are rising ok.
Will get on tomorrow to chat bit more.

Leis - I love my AV too!! I quickly came in yesterday and was answering a post and saw it and thought, ohhh who is that and then I looked up and it was me!! I am a pink fan so I am happy to be all dressed in pink.

Cherie - I am sorry you have been feeling down in the dumps lately but very happy to see you are feeling positive about your appointment in 2 weeks.

I went to my kinesiologist again last night and the first thing he said to me was how was this cycle and I said I have had a normal length cycle for the first time ever. He said good, that is what I worked on last time. I said to him if I have another normal length cycle next month I am going to call you a miracle worker!! Last night he focused on pain & af is in full force and I hardly even know she's here. A slight bit of cramping so far but nothing crippling. He said I responded very well last night and it shouldn't be too long before everything is working how it should!! I really felt the energy field he created around me last night and I feel so so so positive. I wish I had gone down this avenue of therapy a long time ago, oh well better late than never!!!

So I am sprinkling some of my new found positive evergy around for all you lovely ladies to share *sprinkles positive energy* because I feel like I have an abundance of it at the moment!!

lil_chookie, one of the girls from the LTAC forum was seeing a kinesiologist during a break from IVF and, after 17 failed IVF/FET cycles, actually is now pg via natural conception. She was going mainly to feel better and get her body in top condition, but you never know with these things. If you're getting a cycle that's working as it should, you're one up on a month ago already!

Cherie, I'm glad to hear you're feeling positive about IVF. I think it's always a bit of shock to hear you need to go down that route, and you have to grieve initially for what should have been a natural, loving, private thing between you and your DH, now being relegated to injections and doctors and machines. But as would-be parents, we do what we have to, and if this is your best chance, then it can only be a positive thing. I wish you all the luck in the world, my sweet, you deserve it.

Hello all!

Just thought I'd pop in to let everyone know that I am now one of the moderators of this forum, and to introduce myself to anyone I haven't spoken to yet. I am a shameless lurker in this thread especially, and while not everyone may know me, I've followed all of your stories, and feel like I know you all.

I started in this very thread when I joined BB a couple of years back. I had 3 naturally conceived children in my 20s from a previous relationship, and in 1996 had my tubes tied. In July 2001, I had my tubal ligation reversed, and my new DH and I began TTC. In March 2004, after nearly three years of charting, timed intercourse and all the usual things women do to optimise the chances of conceiving, we discovered that my reversal had failed and my tubes were completely blocked.

In July 2004, we started on IVF. In the ensuing 13 months, we had 5 full stimulated cycles - 2 flare, 3 down reg. We also did 3 FETs, assisted hatching at day 3, 2 day transfers, blastocyst transfer and our next stop was to be Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) It was only on our 8th cycle that we fell pg, and I am due to have our IVF miracle sometime in the next 2-4 weeks.

So basically I am no stranger to TTC and Assisted Conception. Even though I am considered a success statistic, I still identify myself as struggling with infertility, and still feel the sting of it everyday. I not only was seriously starting to believe that it was never going to happen to me, I was sure i was the only woman in the world whose body was failing her so spectacularly.

I hope, as a moderator, I can be the eyes, ears and perhaps the voice of those of you who post in this forum. Trying to conceive for as long as you guys have can be very isolating, and I know that this thread saved my sanity many times. I hope you will trust me with your opnions on how you'd like this forum to be, to come to me with any issues you have, TTC or not, and to utilise me to make the most of your experiences here at BellyBelly.

I'm always here, but will lurking less ;) and participating more, and look forward to chatting with each of you and getting to know you better. Please feel free to email me anytime with your concerns, ideas etc.
