Take care Meg x
hi everyone. i'm in the middle of my 2ww and hope you don't mind me joining this thread. this is ivf no. 2 (1st time with icsi) and my first ivf try ended in a chemical pregnancy. my blood test is due on monday and i am desperately counting down the days before i can poas. i was thinking maybe friday? any advice on whether this would give an accurate result? i had my transfer last thursday so that would make me 8dp5dt. i'm feeling really really negative this time around and have basically had no symptoms at all - other than sore boobs which stopped this morning. ominous sign. i am preparing myself for a BFN. any advice or thoughts would be really appreciated as i have no support other than DH (we haven't told anyone we are ttc via ivf...). thanks so much.
Welcome Sophia! I POAS 8dp5dt and got a BFP so I think Friday would be ok. Not everyone will get symptoms so stay positive and hopefully you'll get your BFP next week. Sticky vibes to you!
Take care meg, sorry it hasn't happened for you xo
Hi Sophia. Welcome - of course you can join in :) I am sorry to hear you are not feeling good about this one. I have no experience in the POAS thing but lotsa girls here definitely do and will help you out. I can send a big hug though :) Hang in there.
Hey Mia - CONGRATS on being PUPO!! Hope you have a trouble-free 2ww with a lovely result at the end.
Vic - stay positive a little bit longer......I am cautiously optimistic cos I have a feeling about this one for you. If you have the form for your blood test, can't you go get it done on Saturday anyway? And you haven't said any symptoms have changed and if AF is due today, that is good, isn't it? Best of luck for the next couple of days .....may that undesired relative stay away!!!! Hugs :)
Andie - CONGRATS on PUPO!!!! Go blastie go, burrow beautifully and stick stick stick :)
Thanks Kashby
:welcome: Sophia :)
AFM - tried to write this post from my iphone 2 times without success (wouldnt post!) ARGH!
So came to the pc
Just wanted to know how long it takes to feel cramps (implantation) from the time you have ET? I have been watching heaps of youtube ivf diaries and it seems they all start day 2 but I feel nothing??
Not sure, but just trying to remain calm and see how I go but just wanted to know for those of you that have had BFP's what your experiences have been??
Also my FS didnt use an U/sound on day of ET?! I didnt ask anything cos I assume she knew what she was doing but why did they make me drink all that water for??? Dont know if I should be worried about that?
GOD only day 2 of TWW and I'm already like this LOL chillax!
Appreciate any comments from you ladies xox
thanks keeks and kashby for your thoughts. and thanks for the welcome, mia! i think i will definitely poas tomorrow - i actually didn't poas the first time around but because i am feeling so negative this time (last time, i was so so positive), i think it might help having some idea of what to expect when i get the phone call on monday. i wish i wasn't such a control freak and could just take things as they come...
mia - sorry i can't help with your question re cramping as i've not had any this time round. but on my first try, which ended in a chemical pregnancy, i did have quite a bit of cramping which started a couple of days after the transfer. but as everyone says, every pregnancy is different, so i wouldn't read too much into it. easier said than done i know as i am going through the same doubts. i don't know anything about the use of the ultrasound either - sorry.
anyway, nice to join you ladies here.
thanks kashby :)
hi ladies - had a blast transferred yesterday, so joining the tww madness. i hope i can manage to not obsess, but i think i am already... :o
mia - hi! the clinic im with at the moment dont routinely use ultrasound for ET's, although i requested my FS to use one bc i have been told by previous FS i have a false opening (whatever that means!). my FS said that they usually only use them for difficult patients (as in tricky to navigate girly bits), but she said i wasnt a difficult paitent, so im guessing she wont use it next time. but if you are more comfortable with an ultrasound guided ET, you could request one?
(btw - i am also starting to wonder why im not feeling anything yet & i only had my ET 2.30pm yesterday!)
meg - just spent 5 minutes staring at my screen trying to write something to you, but after each transfer it just doesnt get any easier.
Welcome Sophia :) hope your stay here is short and sweet!
Mia - my FS has never used US and I have never had to drink water beforehand.
Re: cramps, some cycles I cramp the whole way through, others nothing after the first couple of days. I don't think you can use them as an indication of success or otherwise.
Thanks SO much ladies, I know you always have the answers and are truthful about things and your experiences and it ALWAYS helps so thanks heaps :grouphug:
Andie, dont worry we're in the same boat! I had my transfer 1pm yesterday so we're even closer hahahaha keep us updated on anything you feel ok :loveshower:
AFM - am eating healthily and drinking plenty of water, just chillaxing at home. Not much else to tell...yet!
DH was SO cute he took a pic of the embie with his iphone yesterday and sent it to me all redone like a card and it said "our baby 29/02/12, we love you" and the picture beneath it AWWWWWW SO cute :)
I'm out, AF is here in full swing. Didn't even make the 2 weeks!
toomanyshoes - So sorry to hear AF has arrived :(
Mia & Andie - Welcome to the TWW madness. I have always had an US with transfer. They get you to drink so they can see your bladder, as its next to the uterus and my FS says "see, you wont pee it out, its in the right spot" lol. Mia - I loved what your DH sent you. Thats adorable :)
Kashby - Thanks for your kind words.
Hi sophia, and everyone else.
AFM - I just had a very informative call with my clinic. I asked them if I could have my BT on Saturday and she agreed. She said AF should be due today and I said my AF doesn't come till I stop my meds, but she explained with a stim cycle I will still get AF. I am actually really surprised about that and wondered why you girls got AF before your BT's. With my FET as I have not ovulated I dont get AF till I stop meds, but with a stim (this is my first) it will come anyway. Well its due today and so far no AF. I actually have a glimmer of hope now and if its going to be a BFN then stop messing with my head!!! I rang DH and explained it to him and he was surprised too. And a bit happy. Still too early to get excited though. She said if its neg on Saturday and no AF then I have to have another BT on Monday. FX AF stays far, far away from me. Now I am stressing about going to the bathroom lol.
Not sure your nurse is right. I had five Stims last year and I only had spotting twice although AF was due.
Not to say you're not PG of course!!!!
...and with FET you still ovulate??!!??
Toomanyshoes- I'm sorry to hear about AF. My thoughts are with you.
Tms- sooo sorry AF arrived. Look after yourself xo
TMS - we are all here for you hun
