Thanks Paula. Yes I did POAS and got a ++ again......a faint one. My only concern is it's not getting darker like you read so many women have said about their POAS. My sister also mentioned that. It just stays the same faint ++. Good luck tomorrow!!! I'll be thinking of you!!!!
-
Paula & baby2bee- good luck for your tests. I have fingers crossed (not that I'm vicariously stalking you or anything  )
-
Hillarious London!! I was just logging in as you posted to wish Paula the BEST OF LUCK TODAY!!!! Everything is crossed for you!!!
-
Hi Ladies,
Just popping in to see how you are all going and wish you luck,
Paula - :goodluck: today. I hope your dreams come true.
Baby2Bee - I had a chemical pregnancy last month with showed up on a BT but the BHcG was not strong to even register on a POAS. Even if the lines are not getting stronger at least they are consistent! Not long to go now, wishing you all the best for tomorrow.

Paula & baby2bee- good luck, hope you get some good news!
can anyone tell me what things you "stop" or 'start" doing during the TWW?
I have stopped drinking coffee, and trying to avoid anything like soft cheeses, cold meats, chicken.. etc..
-
I haven't changed a thing mitf......my nurses even told me that I could still have a small glass of vino at night. The only thing i have stopped is lifting anything heavy or doing the vacuming.
-
As you can tell, I'm "working" at home today... I was told to act like you are pregnant in the TWW. Well. As you can probably guess from the name, I'm English, and deeply fascinated when the pregnancy advice is different here from at home... which is different to France, which is radically different to Japan... which convinces me that most of this stuff is best guesses and not based on any proven fact whatsoever. The two things you absolutely should not do are ingest cat poo (like people spend a lot of time doing this) and scuba diving....
After that, it's all dependent on where you live. In the UK you are recommended to have no more than 3 coffees per day or 6 cups of tea, here it's less. Similarly for alcohol, it's 2-4 units per week in the UK. I measured the temperatures of my baths (used a cake thermometer), stopped all cleaning, esp oven cleaning (hey - TWW has to have an upside), switched to decaf tea, started drinking champagne at group functions instead of my normal tipple of wine (no one else is, so you can't have your glass topped up when you don't want it; and you can always leave half. No one notices you aren't drinking this way). I was also a little more careful to heat things up properly and avoided buffets and barbeques. I also think its perfectly reasonable to make your DH do things like neck massage, feet rubs, the washing up, make dinner etc etc so you don't over exert yourself : )
-
I might take those DH duties up with my DH!!! but it'll never happen!
-
Krikkit - during my TWW, my clinic said you have to "assume" you are pregnant and hence not eat soft cheese, processed meats etc because of listeria and dont drink etc. I got brochures from them saying what I can and cant eat. It does your head in having to "act" as if your pg when you dont know if you are. However "techinically" if the embie sticks, after about a few days you are in fact pg so should be acting accordingly.
Hope this helps :D
Good luck everyone and lots of :stickyvibesgirl:

It's bizarre how every clinic is sooo different!
AFM: for the last 4 days i've had alternating + on HPT's! It's driving me nuts. + one day, - the next, then + again, and then - again!! Stupid sticks!!! I can't actually even work out where I am in my cycle. Last AF was 28 July, ET was 22 August and Final BT tomorrow which will be day 40 of my cycle! I'm on pessaries and progynova (oestrogen) so I'm not even sure when AF is due again.....I know that the nurse said on Tuesday that I am still REALLY early in my cycle???? I'm very confused! I'm normally about a 30 day cycle but on these drugs stops everything!
-
Paula, wishing you all the luck for your BT today, I so hope it is positive. When I got mine I too had spotting and felt for sure AF was on the way, I cried and cried, drank a bottle of wine in misery , went to bed and woke up still no AF, did a HPT and had faint +. So spotting can mean nothing, stay away AF. Fingers crossed for you.
Baby2Bee, if you are on a HRT cycle ie progynova, you are best to work out when AF is due by your ET date, if you transferred a 3 day embie on the 22nd Aug, you would be the equivalent of 15dpo today, if a 5 day embie, you would be 17 dpo today, either way a good sign. Re HPTs it really depends on the brand, I was using crystal clear at the start, and the 2nd line was always very faint (even when my hcg was 200), I changed to First Response (from the chemist) and got a great 2nd line. Can you try another brand if you can't wait for tomorrow? I hope your BT proves you +HPTs.
Krikkit, I stopped everything and pretty much acted like I was UTD. On my last cycle I stopped coffee from last day of AF, there are some studies that say caffiene can prevent implantation, which is what I was having troubles with and after 6 ETs I was willing to give up anything. Wishing you all the luck for this cycle.
ECS I loved POAS, nearly feel over when I finally got a +. I say go for it and GL for your BT tomorrow.
Wishing everyone else all the very best. xx

Baby2Bee - My clinic advises that you count 2 weeks prior to EPU as essentially the start of your cycle. So 2 weeks after EPU you should be 4 weeks pregnant. As different people have different number of day embies transferred it is easiest to go back to EPU and fertilization. My clinic generally does day 5 transfers so they allow an extra few days before BT to allow the embie more implantation time, so they test after the wend on day 31.
Krikit - I have also heard that you should act like you are pregnant on the TWW although I am not usually that strict. I do avoid soft cheeses, heavy lifting, strenuous exercise, heavy cleaning chemicals and I limit my alcohol consumption to a glass (or half) at social occassions - mainly because I would get to many questions if I didn't drink at all.

Thanks!
Thanks for your responses, I am just going to "pretend" that I am preggers.. lol.
Baby2bee - my last cycle blew out to 36 days or something.. I lost track.. the worst part was it effected the following cycle (natural) it blew out to 30days, usually I am about 24days! I have no idea how the FS work out cyles.. but its never 28 days! Good luck I hope is a BFP!
Londonmiss - we just got some new furniture on the weekend and the house is filled with styrofoam snow, I am still waiting for DH to vacumn. Heres hoping. My only concern is we have a buffet to visit on Sunday for fathers day - I am not looking forward to it.
AFM - sore back today and mild cramping today I am hoping its something positive, but maybe its just left over pain from EPU. I am officially over the pessaries ( x 2 a day of combined estrogen and progesterone) they are a waxy awful mess! the thought of using them all the way upto 12 weeks is horrifying :o
-
Well AF showed up nice and early this morning. Still went in for the BT but looks like i am out.
Thanks so much for all your support and wish you all the very best of luck for your upcoming BT's. Good luck!!
-
Oh Paula I'm sorry for the news! I've been waiting to hear how you went.
-
Hey ladies,
How are you all going in the :2ww: Mt BT is next Thurs and so I have 1 week to go - I'm trying really hard to just get on with life, not think about it too much and act as normal (aside from the 'act as though you are pregnant' advise I was given from clinic) but today I feel like I am going to crack! It's driving me crazy! I just want to know if this is all worth it and it is going to work!
Over the weekend and earlier in the week I was feeling positive and feeling like it was really going to work but today I just don't know what to think! :crying:
Think I need to go book in some acupuncture too - so many of you rave about it, I've had 1 session before EPU and it was relaxing. Just need something to get my head clear and stop all the worry.
Interesting too that some of you are using HPT - I have a couple in the cupboard, do I dare get them out with 1 week to go until BT?
Miss Magpie - sounds like we could be at the same clinic, I think I noticed you were in Melbourne too - I'm at MIVF and got the exact same advise and leaflet. I've been wondering about ham from the fridge section of the supermarket - not the deli - in the little sealed packs that last for weeks - can we eat that I wonder?
mitf - that is the same explanation I got too - you count 2 weeks prior to EPU as essentially the start of your cycle. So 2 weeks after EPU you should be 4 weeks pregnant. It's funny how the whole pregnancy weeks thing is worked out.
Anyway girls - hope you are all coping well and are going to get some BFP's real soon!
:crossfingers: and lots of :pink-babydust: :bluedust: to you all
-
Paula - sorry I missed your news as I was posting. Sorry about AF.
-
Hi Nix,
I did go through MIVF and they were GREAT :D
I havent eaten any deli ham or any meat from the deli for that matter but have eaten that sealed hunk of ham you find in the meat section which you then slice yourself.
I think your prone to listeria if meat has been sitting around for too long as it does in the deli. Have heard if you ask for the meat to be freshly cut from the deli department, thats ok.
Try not to drive yourself too crazy which I know is easier said than done.
Take care and good luck.
Tania
