Loops sweetheart, it is very possible that the pregnancy is hanging in there :)
Or it could be ectopic :(
I have had 3, all were ruptures. I started bleeding like a period with no pain and then WHAMMO pain hit like a truck. Also, the blood was not like period blood. It was way darker, almost purple and scary looking. I knew things werent right. My HCG readings where low but climbing. I think however, if your FS suspected an ectopic they would be all over it straight away like stink on you know what. You would be getting a laproscopy (sp?) right away.
Hopefully you just have low numbers and the bleed is an anonomly. I know quite a few women who have had that exact same thing.
Big hugs and I have everything crossed for you.

Loops - I :pray:that your embie is hanging in there. I don't really have any advice as I have never had anyone i know experience it. This is going to sound dumb but what is a POAS?
Leabie - Hi it sounds like we are also on the same countdown. I have a BT on monday, although i caved this morning! Hope you are doing well during these 2 wks of torture!
Miss K - bet you are having a fabulous weekend:D
Like i said i caved and got a very faint positive line, but it was there. Had a chem preg first go round so not getting too excitied just yet, but have never seen two lines before! I know this is going to sound silly but the last couple of days i have just had a feeling that something had happened and there is someone down there, not dwelling on it too much.:rolleyes:I also had to go and buy a girlfrined a present as she just had a boy, there are so many specials on summer baby clothes everyone, it was so hard not too buy any my DH wouldn't let me:lol:

Thanks Sammiejam and Renee!
Sammiejam ~ I dont know much about ectopics but that does sound quite similar. I had some dark goo at the start, then not much at all.
I suppose even if it is, I was getting used to the fact I was not pg anyway so I suppose i'll be able to deal with it. And at least we still have got that step closer. Thanks for your advice.
Renee ~ thanks heaps darlz. Hope that 2nd line keeps getting darker and darker, will have everything crossed for you. POAS is "pee on a stick" LOL

The one thought I clung to through the entire ectopic nightmare was the fact that implantation was not the problem. In fact it is the OPPOSITE. The little embroys try to implant to soon! They are so desperate to cling on that they burrow in at the first comfy spot they get to.
So if it comes to the worst, and the preg is ectopic then at least you can hold onto that too. And its just a matter of time before the next one snuggles in as well but in the right place :)
Huge hugs,
Sammie

Thanks Sammie. Im pretty concerned now actually as I was just reading about them and the signs seems right. Also i was reading that if suspected you should speak to specialist or DR as soon as poss because of risk of rupture I guess. But its a Sat and my nurse is also on leave next wk :wall: Not sure what to do.
Any help/advice appreciated from anyone

Do you have any pain? It starts out like cramps but quickly goes to much much worse. Are you still bleeding and what colour is it?
If you are feeling ANY PAIN at all go straight to your local A&E. If it is ectopic and they catch it soon enough they can repair the tube. You DO NOT want a rupture so it is better to be safe than sorry.
If they try to dismiss you (as they did to me) then ABSOLUTELY INSIST that they do something. You MUST be your own advocate, do not take no for an answer. Remember that the squeakiest wheel gets oiled first. Lie if necessary, tell them you have awful pain in your side, like apendex pain.
The reason I say this is that I was rendered infertile - lost all my tubes - because I listened to nurses and let them send me home. Nearly died each and every time. On the last one they told me I was miscarrying a (miracle) baby. I had been to the hospital in pain a week before and gave me a scan. They were looking at a blood clot that was beat in time with my heart and thought it was a baby that had somehow managed to get past my very damaged, last remaining fillopean tube. (gggrrrrr) Later that week my hubby found me in a pool of blood unconscious in the bathroom. He took me in and they said I must be having a miscarriage. The left me lying by myself in a room for about 7 hours while they waited for the specialist to show up. He instantly realised what was going on and I was rushed to surgery in the nick of time. I was in surgery for ages because they had to take all my insides out of my body while they tried to get all the blood out. The docs told me it was like I had been shot from the inside.
Anyways, I am not trying to scare you. I just want you to stand up for yourself and dont let them fob you off if they try. I think because your ET was only a couple of weeks ago they should be able to remove the emby and save your tube. Please hun, if you suspect that your symptoms could be like anything I have described please go get yourself checked out asap :(
More big huge hugs,
Sammie

Thanks Sammie. I appreciate your honesty and having to bring that up to tell me, thank you, id rather be safe than sorry.
Sorry but is A&E your clinic? Mine is at Sale, a long way from here. Perhaps I should go to my local hospital tomorrow. I just dont know if im being too worried too soon.
The signs i was talking about are: I had bleeding when I would normally get AF, it started brownish, went quite dark i guess and a bit clotty but only for a day and night if that, then it was pinkish one day, red the next and now it is watery. I was reading that watery can be a sign of ectopic. And like you said happened to you the HPT lines are getting darker after ive had what I thought was AF - weird. My BT on Wed had a HCG of 38. Nurse didnt seem concerned just said she would send me referral for another test this Wed. I dont really have abdominal pain at all
Do you think I should go into hospital tomorrow and ask for emergency ultrasound?
Thanks so much for this - I really dont want to go through the things you did and I did read that the quicker it gets diagnosed the better.
Thanks so much.

By A&E I meant Accident and Emergency. Just my kiwi accent coming through LOL.
Yes I think you should go tomorrow but if you even get ONE IOTA of pain, and I mean even the slighest inkling, get your butt down there immediately.
Now, as for the bleeding, when you say it started brown, was it like old blood or a deep brown that just looked ... kind of like it was coming from somewhere it shouldnt? You know the difference when you see it. Its NOT like at the tail end of AF ,its sort of different. Darker and scary looking. You havent had any dark dangerous deep red/ purple so that is good. Watery - well, I got a thin watery mucus, streaked with blood. It wasnt really blood.
I gotta tell you though, my friend had a bleed like you described and a low hcg count and no pain. She is now 19wks :) she has had bleeding on and off all the way along and they cant explain why.
So there is a big chance you are right as rain hun. But to put your mind at rest, its better to go and kick up some shinanagins ;)
More hugs.

Thanks Sammie. I think im going to be feeling every twinge now lol but Id rather know than not if you get me so truly thank you!
Really not sure on the blood thing, a darker colour than Im probably used to and a bit more clumpy anyway but not overly scary. The watery stuff has had bit of red blood streaks I think. Pretty much dont have anything now and it has been going I suppose the same amount of days AF would nromally be.
I spoke to my mum before and she thinks, dont worry unless I start cramping a fair bit. So I guess i'll just see how im feeling tomorrow, play it by ear. If no pain at all tomorrow, i'll call Monash IVF first thing Monday.
How far into a pg were you when things got bad? Same timing as me? My ET was 14th Feb.
Thanks for the positive story too. I appreciate both xo Hugs back xo

Well i was a bit of a weird case because I was quite far along. For some odd reason I didnt get much pain until right at the point of rupture. I remember one night on the first ectopic, about the 2nd month I had one night of extreme discomfort. Not cramping but an apendex like pain. Really like a stabbing, something twisting like mad deep inside my tummy. I didnt equate it to my ovaries or the pregnancy at all cos it was so different. But apparently I am unusual and the pain is not long after implantation and is significant. I think I must have had a lot of scaring in my tubes which a)caused the ectopics and b)caused a loss of sensitivity.
Ok, the first one, 3 months. Apparently the growth of the embryo slows right down. The first was my worst rupture. 9 hour surgery and they lost me for 30 minutes. Lost that tube. 2nd one, they were more onto it and picked it up after a month. I thought they had removed the tube entirely but they didnt. They left it in there and told me nothing (i was not in Australia when this happened) Because I didnt think I could get preg at all (thought the 2nd tube was gone) I just went merrily on my way. Hence the "miracle" baby of the 3rd. It was so terrible because I was SO OVERJOYED and they convinced me everything was fine (the beating bloodclot). I was about 2 months pregnant when that rupture happened. I think that tube was very weak which is why it bled for a week before actually exploding.
I agree with you mum. If the bleeding has stopped and you have no pain, wait until monday morning. Should either of those things change then go the the hosp.
And no need to thank me sweetheart. You know thats what we are here for :)
-
Oh you poor thing, you've been through so much
Im glad you made it through all of it xoxo
Well I suppose its just a matter of wait and see for the moment! And thanks to your advice, if I start feeling weird cramps etc I'll be at the hospital in a flash! I just hope if it is an ectopic I get a bit of warning.
Big gigantic hugs hun :D
Sweet dreams

Right backatchya girl!
And I did make it through alright, I am now nearly 37wks preggo! I am sure you are going to be just fine. And I am VERY hopeful about your poas tests and no pain. I have a feeling you are going to be like my friend :)
EVERYTHING IS CROSSED!
-
Thanks once again Sammiejam :D
I did another POAS this morning and it pretty much came up positive straight away and darker than one before.
All im getting now is a watery mucous, with tiny bit of pink. Does that sound good or bad? Slightest feeling in my lower tummy, but no jabbing or anything and that might be stress or normal pg symptoms hopefully arrhh. Just have to wait until BT i guess. I was reading to that it wont show up in a scan before 5 weeks anyway so hopefully if it is ectopic they get onto it quick.
-
Sounds ok hun.
For me the blood got darker and more frightening. The egg sack probably wont show up but a lump in the teeny fillopian tube should be visiable.
I will be thinking of you all day. Is it possible to try and get a BT tomorrow?
Ya poor wee thing :( Its the not knowing thats the killer huh.
More huggies,
Me
-
Yeh thanks Sammie. I'll see what Monash IVF say but try and have BT tomorrow or Tues, hopefully they allow me to.
Yes it is the not knowing that is most scary and I really dont want to lose any fallopian tubes!
Will keep you posted.
GL with the rest of your pregnancy and birth etc! xo

miss k : :dance::leap::loveshower::bellygrowing:
yeah i am so happy for you. good luck to you.

Congrats to Miss K
Loops i just want to add that i had an ectopic while backpacking in Morocco, i had lots of pain, was sick both ends and just pray that if i was going to die it would happen quickly, i called my mum and she said to get home ASAP (i didnt know at this time what it was)
when i got home all my pain had gone, i went to see my guyie for updated results for my PCOS as i was moving to AUS (from London) the following week and knew i would need some papers when finding a Gynie in Melbourne, low and behold they asked me 'have you had any pain' i said well not really non more than usual (i forgot morocco, although it could have been upset tummy?) i was 9 weeks with an ectopic about that ruptured as surgery commenced, i was so ill afterwards, i had no idea i was pg, my af was irrugular anyway and i was getting some bleeding esp with sex. looking back i did have sore bb but never thought i could be pg as my gp had told me it would be hard with my PCOS when i was 13 years old (not that i was wanting it then!!) Although they will not seee anything till at least 5/6 weeks in US a bt is a good indication to what is happening, i would get another tomorrow as that is long enough to wait.
when i was with MIVF they thought i may have another ectopic (even with no tubes left, but in the stub part) but it was a blighted ovum as my levels did not rise consistantly.
I would like to add that having my tubes removed last year was the best thing i could have done, it removed the toxic fluid from me and therefor allowing my embie to stick this time round. i was in so much pain with my repaired tube and it just spread infection around my body with every IVF cycle. i wish i had had it done years sooner damanaged tubes can cause so many problems later on so pls do not dispaire if they do find an ectopic and need to remove your tube, it may give you a better chance of success and reduce pain and need for surgery later on like i needed (5 hours in one go)
Good luck to all those still cycling and waiting for BT
-
Thanks for that Loula - really appreciate it. You learn something new everyday because I didnt think you could get pg without tubes.
Sorry you had to go through all that - didnt sound good. I suppose 3 wks into it, I wont have anything like that but all these stories are more of a reason to push getting BT. I havent had any pg symptoms, apart from peeing a fair bit and having positive HPT's.
I will be pushing to try and get BT tomorrow. Its a pain in the butt that my nurse is actually on leave. But hopefully one of the other nurses can sort something out for me.
Im feeling a bit of lower tummy pain tonight - nothing bad but it has got me thinking again that it is an ectopic.
What is a blighted ovum?
xoxo
