Well had my last BT today. Had a little cry on the way home in the car (but just a lil one). Now it is all over & I can just enjoy the next few months!

Well I have had sore boobs today so starting to feel a bit more hopeful - I'm just hoping its not the Clomid doing its thing. One week almost down, one to go!

Hi to everyone else.
well, thought i might pop my head in here and say hi! i had EPU on tuesday and from the 22 eggs picked up, 4 fertlised normally, and yesterday we had a day 3 transfer of a little 8 cell embie! yay!! the other 3 were, we believe, put on ice yesterday afternoon, all going well - we'll get confirmation next week....
there have been some huge dates of significance related to this cycle, so i'm hoping it's all a good omen - EPU was the 27th (my very first puppy's DOB - silly i know, but she was soooo special....), transfer yesterday was on my pop's 99th birthday, and BT is on my nan's birthday (we lost her on Valentines Day this year)...
our last pg, which was a chemical pg from an IUI cycle - the IUI was on my great Nan's birthday - so i'm hoping that things work out even better this time around!!

Megsmum - not long now hun, only a few days left now isnt it ?? I was on Clomid for 2 cycles and the emotional upheavel was the only symptoms I had so fingers crossed for you hun ....
Well I had my ET yesterday and am now "officially" in the 2WW. Our follie has been nicknames "Mini-Me" by my DH, and we are on our way. Have been resting heaps and keeping up the fluids so fingers crossed.
Our FS was impressed at the one that got transfered, as up until yesterday he hadnt seen it close up and seen the growth results so he is very positive which is always a good sing. Plus it looks like we have another 4 really good quality ones to freeze so we have done exceptionally well to this point I think ... now the waiting begins !!! No cramps or anything yet, just a few mild twinges of which everytime i felt them i stopped what I was doing and sat down ....
So yep let the wait beging ... put the xmas tree and decorations up yesterday so the house has a real festive feel to it at the moment !!!
Anyways off the get fruit & veg to help Mini-Me develop nicely ... BBL girls ...

we have nick named our embryo Emmett the Embie - and we're now waiting on Emmett to grab hold and stick nice and tight!
i was concerned about how uncomfortable about how sore i was up to and after ET - very worried about OHSS and things - i'm not sure whether it was the ET, the relaxation AFTER ET, or the crinone kicking in overnight on Friday night - but my discomfort has dropped off dramatically - yay!!!

i'm pretty sure i'm out of luck this time round ladies.... temps have been gradually dropping, down to 36.6 today, i've had a little bit of spotting, and just that familiar feeling of AF..... funny taste in my mouth, bit of discomfort in the tummy.... blah blah! I was feeling really sad yesterday, just want this cruel game to stop! The most frustrating thing is just not knowing what the real issue is.... something inside me is not connecting when it should. I wish i had a little window on my abdomen, so i could see what was going on inside!!

BG - here is sending Emmett lots of sticky vibes lol .. initially my DH didnt want to name it but it kinda happened and now it has stuck lol ... my brother was over last night and he is here again now and thinks that the sparkling apple juice i am drinking out of a champagne glass is actually fruit champagne lol so my cover isnt blown yet lol ... i had no pain or discomfort or anything and then was like shouldnt I have some but the nurse rang me this am to make sure i was ok and she seems happy with progress so hopefully yours is just the crinone as I had them day 2 i started taking them too ... personally i would prefer injections lolol ...
teresep - oh hun nooo ... im sorry for your pain and sadness .... sending yo big hugs of comfort right now ....
Rara - sound like in lieu of everything you did have a nice weekend, hope you can spoil and relax yourself too with some hot relaxing baths with some candles etc ..... small consolation i know but 2008 is just around the corner hun ....

Melsta - I'm still about a week away, it's day 22 today, so a bit to go yet unfortunately. But we are going away for a few days on Wednesday, so hopefully that will help the rest of the TWW go a bit faster! Well, I'm having some major hot flushes today and had a few yesterday as well, so I just don't know what's going on, but I'm guessing its more due to the Clomid than anything else?? It is pretty warm and humid here today. Apart from that, we're doing OK, just waiting, waiting...LOL But I probably should run, gotta take DD to her swimming lesson soon and get CD21 progesterone blood taken - here's hoping for a good number!
thanks Susannah, praying that this is it for us but time will tell ... have been having some increase in the twinges this morning but not sure what it is or if they are the gel side effects (i am on crinone gel to help with the progesterone) ... such fun !!!
Hmmm Clomid is a wonderful thing lol and i know there are loads of side effects but it sometimes is hard to tell what is our natural body and what is the drugs hey !!! Hope it all goes to plan though and enjoy the swimming lesson today !
BG - how are your side effects on it hun ?? Hey BG - do you know how long you have to leave it before you can BD again after ET ??? We had to stop BD as soon as we started FSH injections just wondering when it would be "safe" again ???

the paperwork from our clinic said no BD for 24hours after ET - unless you've had embryo biopsy - in which case you should wait til after BT
DH and i were gonna go for the whole TWW - but things just don't always work out the way we plan, do they.... ?
lolol no we all start off with the best intentions but i am suprised at our strength although alot of it is my DH not wanting to "ruin" anything .... will check with the nurses ...
Our scientist just rang and we have 7 more on ice .... 3 grade 1 blastocysts and 4 grade 2 blastocysts ... and on sat at the ET, my DH chose locker 7 saying we would get 7, and we did lol holy hoohah i am a bit in shock cause it means of the 10 that fertilised only 2 dropped off .....

Melsta - We did & I intend to keep on spoiling myself...hehe! When I had my ET (which was on a Wednesday) the nurse said not for us to BD until 7 days later (the look of shock on DH's face was hilarious). AF arrived on Friday so poor DH only got one day to be given some attention =( GL hun!
Rara - yep that is my DH at the moment he keeps asking every day how much longer do we have to wait lolol but at the same time then he doesnt want to ruin anything either lolol ... It took me 10 minutes to get the guts to email the nurse and say "so when can my DH and I have (BD) again lolol" so embarassed for me but hey they prob get asked that a million times lolol ... funny that after everything we have been through that is the bit I get most embarassed at .....

Hi girls, decided to drop in and watch you all get your bfp's. I am 8dpo, AF if she is coming should arrive Sunday the 9th. Pregnyl should be out of my system today and I feel a bit hopeful, I have had little twinges and aches in both ovaries at different times and today I felt a little dizzy a couple of times, but that could just be that I needed food. I will have a better idea mid week.
Melsta, what a great result!!! You must be feeling very happy and confident of success. Great to have such nice embies waiting in case back up plan is need.

Melsta - hope the twinges are MiniMe getting comfortable!!! And that's fantastic about all your embies on ice :) Yep Clomid is wonderful isn't it ;) This is only my second cycle on it and the side effects have been totally different to the first one (still getting the hot flushes - actually having one right now!) so I've got no idea what to think. I guess 2 cycles also is not enough to know exactly how it effects me either?! Oh and the swimming went well thanks - she absolutely loves the water - considering that I don't like swimming much, I've got no idea how I produced such a little fish.
Blackduckies - cycle buddy! Well almost LOL I'm 10 DPO today, so 1 day ahead of you :) Good luck - hope you get your BFP.

Only 3 days until my BT. AF has not yet arrived, so my fingers are very definitely still crossed. Still getting a few cramps, but not as bad as before. I have felt tired, nauseous and dizzy on and off for the last week, as well as a bit headachey. But that is probably all in my mind :redface:!
Oh well, good luck to all in their two week wait and heaps and heaps of sticky vibes for us all!!
Brownbug - ohhh fingers crossed only 3 days to go !!!!!!!!!! i think the closer it gets the more nervous I would be .. I only have 9 days to go ..... hope that AF stays away for you hun and you get your BFP !!

Did you have lots of twinges after ET ??? We had ET saturday and whilst I havent had as many this morning yesterday I had heaps .... checked with the nurses they said all is ok and not to worry but I like to compare ....
Melsta - I have been cramping on and off ever since the first day after transfer, and so keep thinking AF is coming! Had especially bad ones about one week after transfer as well as back ache!
This cycle is VERY different from any of my previous ones though, so don't know if I am Arthur or Martha!

Brownbug - from the sounds of them the little one is embedded so far in he/she is well protected now ... it is so hard trying to distinguish the symptoms isnt it ... but I read this am (very early at home on google) that implantation cramps can also be in your lower back and can basically mimic AF pains .... how we are meant to know b/w AF and implantation or PG i am dumbfounded lolol ... i think I give up trying to figure them out lol ... i am exhausted though could sleep all day if I was allowed lol .....
Just think after today it is only 2 days, then 1 and then you will know ... ohhh i have fingers and toes and everything crossed for you hun !

I was SO close to buying a HPT yesterday. I assume that you could view the EPU as "ovulation" in an IVF cycle, so does that mean AF would be due two weeks after that ???- (which in my case is tomorrow). So probably a HPT could give me some answers by now.
BUT, I have never used one before in any of my other cycles, just waited for the BT. I guess I'm just a bit scared of a false positive from the Pregnyl or something. So I've decided to wait until Friday and just hope AF doesn't rear her ugly head.
DH would rather I waited too. It's OK for him, he's not as impatient as me!!!
Oh Brownbug my DH is exactly the same ... if you go by ovulation as being EPU then I ovulated on 24.11.04 therefore AF would be due around 08.12.07 which is why my b/t is scheduled for 12.12.07 ... man i think our DH have the easier part only from the point of view that they dont have to try and interpret each and every sympton we suffer, but on the other hand my DH wants to know what each one means and as I get home from work each day I am sent to the lounge to sit and rest - what is he going to be like when it turns into a BFP lolol ....
Then again I have heard so many stories about the HPT's giving false readings from the amount of hormones etc left over in our bodies ... which is why the b/t is more reliable ... hence why I am going to try my hardest to stay away from the HPT's lolol ..... hmmm no lunchtime shopping around the 12th as i will be tempted .....
Ahh all i can say is thank goodness for these threads and whoever invented the saying "what doesnt kill you makes you stronger" ... it's my mantra at the moment lol
I think my DH's way of coping is to keep very busy at work and try not to think about it until the day!
I've actually been wondering if some of my tummy cramps might not have been wind (sorry if TMI) from taking Elevit. It has extra iron and minerals etc in it, which are good for bubs, but seem to have upset my tum a bit. I started Elevit when I started injections, not a month before like you are supposed to (we weren't really planning to TTC until next year, but I suddenly got hit by the clucky bug!). Since then, I've had heaps of cramps, and I don't know whether it is me, the drugs or the Elevit :D!
I forgot to have last night's dose, and feel OK today. Do you think that's a coincidence?
Hmm I dont think so as I have been taking Elevit for nearly a year now and didnt notice side effects like that, are you taking a folic acid supplement as well? I had to go and buy the Blackmores one as the nurses at our clinic advised that Elevit doesnt have enough Folic Acid in it but has everything else .. so check on that hun .... do you take the Elevit with food ? I found the only thing from Elevit was (a) I cant take it on an empty stomach as it makes me sick and (b) I cant take it with juice as the acid from the juice makes me feel sick when combined with the tablet ... so I take mine at night now as when it was injection city, having the injections plus vitamins was too much ...
Wind - the only time I had that was after EPU when the LA was wearing off and i was trying to degas my bloated belly (TMI I know!!) .... who knows hun .. trying to decipher all this is like trying to finish a Rubix cube ... impossible lolol ...

Melsta, it is indeed unfortunate that AF symptoms and BFP are very similar. It always seems that the TWW puts you on high alert for any symptoms, even ones that you normally experience???? It seems the second week is the hardest, you can be relaxed and then Bham:doh:!! The mind starts working overtime.
Brown bug, you are very strong not to test. Mind you even when I have and I thought I would put my mind to rest, I have found myself thinking maybe it was tooo early??? I think I should test again in a few days???Maybe??? Not???? For me I think I want to take the chance on the high of seeing 2 lines or a least know that AF is going to arrive instead of it just showing up??? I don't even know how my mind works??
I believe the Pregnyl leaves your system at 1000mg a day, so for me it was gone on day 8 after a 5000 trigger and 2 1500 booster shots. You symptoms sound very promising though:clap:always love to see BFP's. Good luck

Today, I am fighting the urge to test. No point in the middle of the day?? Last night I went to the loo about 4 times, today I have been there non stop, and I had to take my bra off when I got home because it was so uncomfortable. But no nausea or adversions to food or feeling extra sleepy mid afternoon. Which has happened before. So if I get up lots tonight I may test first urine tomorrow morning. Why do we do this to ourselves??? I am only going to feel stupid when I have to report no BFP, but I guess if I can't confess on here where can I do it?

I take Elevit too and have been for about 8 months now.....I dont get any side effects from it...I also take fish oil tablets and yes i get side affects from them,,they say odourless but I tell ya..I burp up a 'snapper' every morning...discusting.
I cant believe you have LA Melsta..I had a general, totally knocked out and could not walk or get out of bed for 2 days after....mind you I had a flare cycle too. the first cycle on injections didnt work which was over a period of a about 4-5 weeks...the flare cycle was injections
plus meds and was only for 10 days..maybe thats why being so intense it left my in agony.
So were you awake the whole time? OH GOD.......OUCH......scary...........But I did have some 'gas', I swear my FS had a party inside my uterus whilst I was sleeping!!!!
Blackduckies - I totally understand hun re the bra, I am only in week 1 and I rip mine off every night (which my DH loves anyway lolol) but yes uncomfortable in that dept can only last so long ... I dont think there is anything wrong in testing BD, it is prob down to each of our preferences ... but hey if you are heading to the loo that many times tonight i would be testing too .... let us know if you do or not and BD ... never ever think that you are going to feel stupid - in here amongst us that never happens as hun we TOTALLY understand the feeling ... so no you are not stupid at all .... xoxo
Carla - lolol re the snapper such imagery there hun lolol .... hmmm what does the fish oil do for the embies? Yep I had a LA ... I tell you what I have never been a big fan of needles but when I saw that whopper long thin needle heading my way - Woah I nearly s**t myself lol .... (pity the poor FS at the end of the chair lol) ... I had a smidgen, and I say a smidgen, of relaxant at the beginning but I felt every inch of that LA being injected (TMI !!) on EACH side ... yep they did it one side at a time so I broke my DH not once, but twice from gripping as they injected .... I figure this Mini Me knew from the beginning how much pain I would go through to get him / her ... lolol .. but yep awake the whole time and saw every part of it, the eggs being sucked up and deposited into the test tubes and then the follies on the big screen, from that point of view i was glad I could see it but hacking the guts to "suck it up and not cry" during the procedure I give myself brownie points - not one tear !!! Yay !!!!
Maybe the extra injections is definitely what did it hun as I was up and walking that same day, albeit very crampy. So were the meds the same for the remaining 10 days of the cycle as the beginning?

I'm new, just came across this site although not new to IVF (unfortunately). Having major problems with all the lingo though, is there a glossary somewhere on this site?
Anyway I'm due for my blood test in 2 days although don't think it's worked as I'm just feeling pre-menstrual and there a tiny bit of spotting. Still, from this cycle (IVF no 5) we have 6 frozen little ones so there will be plenty more to try down the track...
I'll keep my fingers crossed for all you girls!!

little fish - welcome hun ... there is a lingo at the beginning not sure the directions but the others can point you in the right direction ... good luck for your b/t - hope the spotting is nothing more than a pg symptom that some women get ...

Melsta - I was sure I read that there wasn't enough folate in Elevit somewhere too. I asked my nurse, but she said it was OK (it's the first time I've used it). I think you are right though and I will definitely start taking a supplement. Better to be safe than sorry.
Blackduckies - Thankyou for thinking I am strong! :lol: I think it is more of a scardey cat thing, I just wouldn't believe a BFP anyway unless someone tells me "officially", so I guess an HPT still wouldn't help! You are so totally not stupid to have hope - it's the only thing which keeps us going on this rollercoaster ride. I bet everyone on here understands!! I truly wish you all the best and hope to hear some good news from you very soon!

The 'meds' were the same in a flare cycle as a normal stim cycle. allthe same but double the dosage in less than half the time....so you could imagine the pain and how 'fat' i was just before they took the eggies......eeeeekkkk
you are a legend to go through that with just a LA!!! hats off to you!!! Im thinking I was in alot of pain from being on the flare boost cycle.....hope I dont have to go through that again.
Im feeling ok I guess..not excited about tomorrow..think they will tell me what we ALL already know but i have to do as Im told i guess.....dog tired right now as I have been packing all night. Moving next weekend so hoping for a new fresh start. DH and i just lost our beautiful golden retriever a couple of months ago that we have had for 13 years....well he would have been 13 this boxing day so finding it hard being in this house and all the memories. Time to move on and start again hopefully with a beautiful bundle of joy soon.

I have most of the pressies bought, but that is as far as it goes. I must admit, since we decided to TTC again at the start of November, I've found it hard to concentrate on other important stuff, like Christmas. Hopefully the festive feeling will kick in soon, especially if by some wild chance I get a BFP!!
We won't be seeing most of our family until Feb, when we take the boat down to Tassie, so we will be lucky enough to have two Christmases!!
Oh wow two christmases sound great, my parents have just booked in to do that trip next year ... how big is your family in Tas ? I have family in Tas and my dad and nan are originally from there ... my dad loves it ....
I think I have been so caught up in christmas as it is my escape mechanism from the TTC and more recently the 2WW .... i sooo wish it was next wednesday already ....
Just think how festive you will feel knowing you have a BFP and that is the greatest xmas present anyone could wish for. I would give back every bought gift I received just to have a BFP ......
