Just a warning - the tea is horrendous! I just held my nose and chugged it down with some juice ;)

I actually quite like the chinese herb stuff! weird, I know.
Hm. Perhaps I need to offer some inducement.... sigh.
:o lol
The acupuncture and herbs worked for me. I think the fresh herb drinks are the best (taste like something NOT tasty, but must be more "active") the other thing is to take kelp. It works for him too. Stimulates the pituitary gland and his "other" glands. Stimulates your ovaries too. It's only one tablet...so you might have a shot at it with DH :)
OK, so I don't know if I can class myself as a LTTTC, but DS3 took a fair while to conceive - and that's where acupuncture and herbs come into this picture. I went down this path when clomid didn't do much and the OB/GYN prescribing the clomid didn't appear to give a rats. She diagnosed me with PCOS despite no blood tests/scans etc. Plus I don't fit the general profile (wasn't overweight, excess hair etc). I did have a problem with anovulation though. My acup lady has a wonderful reputation, so if you go this way try and find someone who has a solid reputation and who treats people individually - not someone who treats backache and fertility the same way, if you get my drift.
I had herbs via capsule form - no aftertaste at all. But as she was also a naturopath and used all round commonsense, I was on zinc, magnesium, vitex as well. DH was given the "nasty tasting" TCM to improve his sperm quality (it was pretty crud - less than 4% viable, in actual fact). It took me about four months of almost weekly sessions (which I could claim on private health insurance), which included ovulation induction ... but it worked! In addition she identified my thyroid was working 100pc effectively, and she made me cut most sugar out of my diet (well, it was supposed to be ALL sugar, but hey ... 85% cut out wasn't too bad). Acupuncturists have a thing about cold - so you'd probably be told not to eat or drink anything cold, or get cold. I can't recall what that's all about but it's pretty common with acupuncturists.
I can't recommend going this way more highly. But ... what worked well for me and made me feel great, may not work as well for someone else. I ended up with acup and herbs, plus the zinc etc all through my pregnancy. Oh, and DH's swimmers did improve after he'd taken herbs for a month or so.
The cold thing would depend whether you're more yin or yang, I guess. I'm a small yin, so need hot things, yeah. (don't go there n2l!) and according to my last chinese-medicine doctor, alcohol was a big YES! Can't remember where they stood on sugar.
and hey, 4% is pretty good :p
I've seen this woman before and she does fertility stuff. I've NFI if she's good at it, though. Her induction acupuncture didn't work for me! There is another guy I've seen recommended in Perth. Maybe I should try and track him down.
Hot things! :o
It took ages to convince DH to take any supplement- he won't even take something like olive leaf if he's sick.
Can you take royal jelly while BF? Might get onto it this time around.
not sure. I'm still bf, though not all that much.
With the endo, if you haven't had a lap in more than 12 months and are serious about wanting to TTC, I'd consider a lap. Even after 6 months I had some re-growth (thankfully not much). I'm not saying leap into one now, but if you get to 6 months of TTC you might want to think more about it.
The reason OPKs aren't recommended for ladies with PCOS is because the PCOS can cause you to have elevated LH levels all cycle. Some PCOS ladies don't seem to have the elevated LH levels and the OPKs work fine. I'm not sure if the elevated LH is linked to annov cycles or not?
Unfortunately, if you want to know if you're O'ing the only way is the temps. You could do just one cycle to find out if you are or not? Also, my acupuncturist always wants to see my BBT chart when I go to my appt, so be prepared for yours to raise the subject. I started acupuncture after 3 failed IVF and got our first ever BFP (chem pg) with just acu and herbs. I also did acu during the IVF that gave us DD and I got another BFP (mm/c) in 2011 with just acu. I've never had a BFP when I haven't been doing acu, so I think it's great! ;)
Be wary of vitex, it's not without its risks and is not for everyone.
I'm with N2L on the CoQ10 though.
Legs and bum up in the air after sex, for up to half hour. According to the grapevine it works every time, and you only need to do it once.
LOL Keike. I've done that a bunch of times. But then I read I should do it doggy style and lie on my tummy because of the retroverted uterus. Then I realised my cervix is kinda pointing out to the right, so I lay on an angle....
Yeah, I wasn't really sure about the vitex. Maybe I should look into it more. I just started it for last cycle and it was a few days shorter than usual. Don't know if that's because of the pills or what. Temping really is impossible with the little bed-sharer, I think.
MadB I have a great acupuncturist, he's in Mosman Park. PM me if you'd like his details.
Vitex wreaked havoc with my pcos. It made me crazy!...just ask DH :)
Just cause I'm a sticky beak but I have been told that men should take zinc to improve their swimming abilities. ..if he won't take supplements maybe sneak in some high zinc foods into meals...unless he's the cook of course!
Yep the menevit is high in zinc, and garlic interestingly. What got me up the duff after way too long trying was finally giving up, deciding to leave the GP's referral to a FS untouched on the counter as I decided then and there I wasn't ready for IVF. Invited my best friends over from Victoria for a girls weekend, then invited my parents over the next. Basically re-filled my life with people who love me, had a ball, drank too much, felt happy again, pounced on DH a few times. Next month I had my BFP.
