Sharing my licorice root journey - first cycle

Im just new to this site and TTC also. Did you find that the licorice root worked for you?

Ive got PCOS and no AF or O for a while now.. willing to try anything at the point!!

Nice to meet you. Yes LR is great, it shortened my otherwise very long cycles and even helped with PMS!

I think in your situation you can't lose by trying it. Take 2 tabs 3 times a day for 5 - 7 days, usually on cycle day 2, 3 or 5 (like clomid), but also if AF hasn;t showed up like with you.

It's actually good for many other things as well.

Been going a bit loony this past few days, I'm a POAS addict and tested 2 days ago (of coarse it was a BFN) but AF was supposed to show today and it didn't. I'm waiting for her arrival whilst silently insane, hehe, if it doesn't come tomorrow i will test again.

I'm pretty skeptical though, i haven't had the brown CM i have gotten in my previous pregnancies on the day of missed period - but i think you all know that uncontrolable feeling of hope that is such a far reach at times.

But hey, imagine i was pg, what a testimony to LR!!! First cycle and bingo! hahaha i wish.

I'll let you guys know what happens.

Well,

did another test today, as suspected BFN.

Just got some brown discharge, so i'm quite sure thats AF in her way, I wish i could say it was imp. bleeding.

Oh well, the same sad story every cycle, you'd think you would get used to it after 2 years. Never mind. I can take plenty of positives from this cycle anyway:
- OV earlier, shortening my cycle to 36 days
- PMS relief...enough said!

Next cycle i will do LR cd 2-9, as you can do LR for 7 days, i'm hoping earlier and longer on LR will mean even earlier OV.

I'll keep you all posted on any changes with the different dosage... i'll name the post "Sharing my licorice root journey - second cycle" Hope to hear from you all soon...

And i'd just like to say, i really appreciate you ladies sharing this with me, it means so much that perfect strangers are so supportive, when the people closest to you are the ones farthest from understanding you.

So sorry to hear that the results (of the POAS) have so far been neg, although I will still be crossing my fingers for you.

you know, i'm a bit confused at the moment. I had the usual show before af comes, and from my experience it should be here by now, but it's been a few hours since i've seen the brown cm. DH keeps telling me it might be the LR changing my cycly and what i'm used to - i think he's saying it not to get my hopes up.

Hi! It's been a very long tine since I've been on bb.. I tried lr for sometime and found no difference. I actually gave up all alternative stuff, and lost a few kgs, my cycle suddenly came back and now am 6 weeks pregnant!! I truly believe u do whatever makes u feel good, I was over taking the million tablets!!! Good luck x
