Kaydee and Luckystrike, Good luck for testing this month, that would be awesome if you both got bfp's and avoided IVF!
Megsmum, I hope your prog levels today were good, and this next week flies by. Whats your testing date?
:hello: to everyone else, it certainly has gone quiet in here.
I'm still just waiting around, our FS appt is in a week, and we've got our IVF counselling session on 6/8. Our clinic only does it on a Wednesday, and that was the first date we could both attend (DH works shift work, and it gets hard to work around his shifts sometimes).
Have a lovely weekend everyone :)
-
Alloy - All the best for the FS visit and counselling. Hope it all goes well.
Well I don't have any good news I'm afraid :( Prog was only 21 and I'm on 2 pessaries a day. I really don't think we'll have any luck this cycle, if we do it will be some sort of miracle I think. I've also posted in the TWW thread, but we're going back to the FS on the 29th to talk about where to from now, my clinic nurse thinks we should go straight onto IVF. I don't know though, it seems like a big step when DH is not keen and I seem to be ovulating OK at least part of the time. I guess we'll do a couple more IUIs if the FS thinks it is worth it and then go to IVF then if we don't have any luck. I'm thinking it's worth giving it a go on a higher dose of Clomid first before IVF. I'm really pretty bummed about it all tonight :(
-
Hi Everyone
Just thought I'd let you know this cycle was a big flop! I'm on CD2 today.
I am now moving into IVF this month. Picked up the drugs today, starting pill on saturday and will take it from there! Its so overwhelming, I really dont know how to feel at the moment. Angry that this cycle didnt work out, and scared about moving into IVF, but at the same time I feel more positive that this will work.
Kaydee - did AF finally arrive or did you get a BFP and are lucky enough to avoid IVF? As much as I hoped, it didnt happen for me.
Alloy how did you FS appointment go? Are you moving to IVF in Aug?
Hope everyone is well and a little more cheerful then me!
-
Hi Luckystrike,
I'm still hanging around... Spotting - too heavy for any chance of +ve result so I just haven't tested now for days -but no full on AF. I plan to ring clinic in the morning and ask for advice... I'm now cd 36 and want to get started but don't know if it's just a waiting game for full AF before I can start.
Good luck with ivf... I'm hoping to be chatting with you soon and swapping notes about ivf experiences! I really hope it works out for you. Think positive - you're moving forward!
Alloy, good luck for Friday.
Hi to everyone else still hanging too!

Hi Ladies,
its been a while since I last dropped in, sorry to hear that there hasnt been any positve news, this ttc is such a rollar coaster. There are so many posts to catch up with , so I apologise for the lack of personal responses. feeling very jet lagged at the mo, we got back from the uk yesterday after a very long journey, good to be back, but not enjoying waking at 3 in the morning! I had a fantastic time, totally relaxed and partially put this ttc in the back ground, went out drinking and partying with friends, which was so much fun. I continued on the vitex and vit B6 (200mgs a day) to lenghthen my cycle out, as my problem was short luteal phase and low progesterone, which it seems to of done as I got my :bfp: this morning:cheer: still in disbelief! I am about 5 days late, but was too nervous to take a test any earlier as didnt want to be disappointed.Had my blood test today and levels were all good.
I love that vitex and vit B6, i am convinced that is what did it for me! of course being relaxed may of helped also! I really had got to the point where i just needed a break, I had done the paper work to start IVF next cycle, but had decided to wait a while as physically and emotionally , i just wasnt up for it!
Amy - sorry not to of answered your question on vitex earlier, didnt get to go on the net much whilst away. I took the vitex all through my cycle, first thing in the morning. I read in a book that if you have irregular cycles, ie too short, you can increase the dose. I took 4 mls which was equivalent to 800 mgs, ( only changed to this dose quarter way through though, was on 2 mls before then).
For those ladies that have progesterone and short cycle issues, give it a go!
Megsmum- If your not sure about IVF , give this a go for a few cycles, it will rest your body as well. You sound like you are in a similar situation to me, I also have a child and wasnt ovulating properly, low progesterone as well. I am convinced this is what did the trick, and I also know a few other girls it worked for as well.
I think there is a thread on the forum somewhere about it. My FS didnt know much about it, but as i have said in a previous post, my day 21 progesterone levels were way higher than anything before, 66 last month. 87 today and I am 4 weeks 2 days, still very early days I know!
Good luck to all of you ladies that are moving into the world of IVF, I have everything crossed for you all, I look forward to hearing about your :bfp::pink-babydust::bluedust:

Hi Ladies,
Sorry I haven't come into say hello, everything seems to be changing in our lives at the moment.
Fi - OMG congratulations, I am so happy for you
Kaydee, Luckystrike and Alloy - I am so glad that you are all moving on to IVF, I hope that this brings a +ve for all of you.
AFM my original appointment with the FS was booked for the end of August but they called us on Monday with a cancelation for Tuesday, so we were over the moon that we were able to get in so much earlier. We are now booked in to start IVF late August/early September, I can't beleive it is all happening but FS said that there is no point in continuing with IUI because it is not going to work for us. Now is counseling sessions and information seminars.
Have a good weekend Ladies
-
Hi ladies,
Fi - Congratulations, that is great news :)
Amy - That is so good about the cancellation and bringing your IVF forward. Good luck with it all.
Kaydee - Sorry about the spotting :( I hope AF has shown up for you by now.
LS - I know I already said it in the TWW thread, but I'm sorry about your BFN :( and good luck with the IVF.
AFM - BFN this cycle too, got the BT result yesterday. After the prog result though I am not surprised and not really bummed out ATM - I got that out of my system last weekend after the prog result! Oh well...
We are off to the FS next Tues with the aim of convincing him to let me go to FSH injections. I've decided that I want to give them a go before moving to IVF, I really think it's a bit premature to go to IVF after 2 failed Clomid/IUI cycles. I would like to give the FSH/IUI a go for maybe 2 or 3 cycles I think, but I'll see what he has to say about it. He doesn't like doing FSH for OI because of the risk of multiples, so I have to convince him that DH and I will obey if they cancel a cycle  I might be the only one in here next month!
Have a nice weekend everyone :)
-
HI all,
Fi, Congrats hunny, that's awesome news. All the best for a healthy and happy pregnancy
Luckystrike, I'm sorry to read about your bfn, I hope your feeling a little more positive today.
Megsmum, I hope the FSH works out for you!!!
Kaydee, good luck with the IVF, hopefully it will only take one shot for all of us, and we can celebrate our bfp's together!!!
AmyM, I'll be starting IVF late August/September too, so we'll be able to share notes and experiences :)
First things first, I have to ask, what does AFM mean?
We had our FS appointment today, just went through the results of the Lap, and then discussed moving onto IVF. We went through all the risks and everything, all of which I was already aware of from my research into the subject. We've got our information session, and counselling set for the 6th of August. We'll be doing a down reg cycle, so I'll start with the nose spray at the end of my next cycle. The blood tests will start on day 2 of my next cycle, which isn't too long away now (I'm CD18 today) so I'm glad we won't have to wait too much longer. Not looking forward to the anaesthetic for the egg retrieval, but I'll just have to put up with it I guess!
:hello: to anyone I've missed
-
Alloy,
AFM =As for me
Took me a while to work it out too LOL
-
Hi Everyone,
Alloy - sounds like a few of us will be moving to IVF next cycle. I started the pill today so my egg retrieval should be around early sept, i think. Anyway i'll have to join one of the other threads soon to speak to others who are going thru it.
Megsmum - I'm so sorry things didnt work out this month. Good luck with the FS, regardless of his views on things, he needs to do what is right for the situation, so I think you'll be ok. And if he is not willing to try other things then, maybe you need to consider going to someone else. I know its a hasstle but if you arent happy then you might need to think about it.
Fifi - Congratulations on the beautiful news. Its nice to see some happy endings. Hopefully th rest of us will have some luck next cycle.
Amy thats great news they could move you up. I remember how frustrating it was waiting for all my appointments. Sounds like you wont be too far off me with the IVF aswell as a few others, so we should be able to compare notes!
Kaydee how are you going?
To everyone else continuing with IUI good luck! Hopefully you wont need to go down the IVF rd as a few of us have just begun, and hopefully we all get to chat in one the pregnancy forums soon!
-
Hi everyone,
Fi, a big congratulations to you! Best wishes for a wonderful pregnancy. :cheer:
Megsmum, good luck tomorrow... be strong - hope you're FS is understanding and is flexible in his approach.
Amy, great news your fs had an earlier appt free.. much better than waiting around. Looks like there's quiet a few of us moving onto ivf.
Luckystrike, looks like we'll be cycle buddies. I've started on the pill now too. Have an appt with nurses mid august to pick up spray and meds.
Alloy, my fingers are crossed it only takes one go... great news that you're able to keep things moving. You'll be into it all before you know it!
Best wishes to everyone else still continuing with iui. Hope your journey ends with the +ve result we're all hoping for... To all the girls starting ivf, I look forward to chatting with you in the other threads. :)
-
Thanks for the well wishes Alloy and Kaydee, but we're on for another cycle of Clomid and IUI this month after the FS appt. I'm not totally happy with it (probably a bit of an understatement ) as the FS was quite receptive to the idea of FSH injections, it was just that DH is not prepared to proceed with a cycle if there is more than one follie. Too bad the FS is pretty sure that there would be more than one with FSH :(
So the FS has suggested one more IUI then onto IVF, which DH also has a problem with  I won't go into it because it is a bit personal, but hopefully we can come to a compromise and go ahead with IVF next month. We're going to go back to see the FS in a couple of weeks to talk about it further and hopefully get the ball rolling, I don't want to muck around waiting as I am not getting any younger. I really don't expect to have any success this month at all, so I expect it won't be too long before I'm joining you all doing IVF. Good luck to everyone!
-
Hi, I'm new to this site. I have start my IUI #3 cycle. Is this the right place? Is anyone doing IUI in August?
-
Hi there DLT,
You sure are in the right place :)
I'm on CD6 of my 3rd (and last before IVF) IUI cycle, so will definitely be doing IUI in August, provided there are no hiccups of course. I think I'm about the only one left in here doing IUI, most of the other ladies are moving on to IVF now, so it will be nice to have someone to chat to :) Welcome!
-
Thanks Megsmum,
I'm on D6 today, so I'm a day behind you. That's great that we can share this last IUI together. I believe that if this one doesn't work I'm also onto IVF. Here's hoping for both of us, that it's 3rd time lucky...
-
Thanks DLT, I hope its third time lucky for both of us too!
Actually, we are both on the same day of our cycle too - I'm CD9 today, are you too?
Anyway, I've finished popping Clomid and been in to the clinic today for bloods and a scan. I'm still waiting on the bloods, but I have one 17mm follicle, so trigger and IUI aren't too far away now for me. Too bad I seem to have a cyst on the other ovary though, the nurse wasn't worried about it, but me being a born worrier can't help but wonder  But I'll go back tomorrow and have some more blood done and we'll see what happens after that - whatever happens happens I guess!
-
Hi megsmum,
I'm on CD10 today.
Wow, your cycle is obviously a normal length cycle. That's a great follie size already! I'm sure you'll be IUIing this week.
Try focus on that big happy follie and not let the cyst even have a say in the matter ;)
I am taking injections and my normal cycle is around 35 days, so my IUI's have both been around D18. I went for blood yesterday and am going back tomorrow (no scan yet), so I'm thinking my IUI will be early next week.
Please keep me updated on how you go tomorrow.
-
Hello everyone,
I hope you don't mind me poping in :D. I am currently on my last cycle of clomid (CD27 with AF cramping so i am thinking AF around the corner :()before moving onto injections and IUI.
I was hoping to hear some feedback from you lovely ladies inrelation to giving the injections and the side effects. I am already a nut case as the hole TTC thing has really been getting to me but aside from that i didn't really have many side effects from the clomid (not like what i have read others have had?). So we are being treated at MAC Centre in Melb (Melb asisted conception centre) we/i will have 75I.U Puregon days 2-6 then BT/scan then when ready (more likely told) HCG injection Ovidrel then progesterone pessaries i think 4 days after IUI. I would love to hear some feedback good or bad also DH is VERY VERY nervous about IUI day so any coments re how your DH or DP have gone would begin to put our very nervous minds at ease :D
I have been a member of the TTC forum for a while and have found such great support i hope i can give some hear to!
Sending out lots of  and  to you all
Thanks for your time when replying
xxBella

Hi bella55, welcome :D
This is my 3rd cycle of IUI, so I can share my experiences with you. The injections that I take are Pregnyl (I think they're all pretty much the same). You basically get a pen with all the liquid in it, and have to place the needle on it yourself, and inject into the fat on your stomach (much like a diabetic would do).
The one great thing the nurse told me was to sit down, pinch the skin, take a deep breath and count out loud to 3 and then insert the needle. (don't jab it in). I was so nervous the first 3 times, but there is hardly any pain. The needle is so thin, you sometimes don't even feel it going in (honestly). It's more nerves around getting over the fact that you have to give yourself an injection, and once you're over that, it's not really that hard.
About the side effects, I didn't have any major ones that I could notice. I think generally I was a little hormonal and blamed any moody moments on the injections :)
the HCG injection is more painful, but don't worry about that until you get there.
Good luck!
-
Hi ladies,
Hi and welcome bella55! I hope your stay here is a short one :) I haven't done injections so can't really comment on them, but I can say that my DH hasn't found the whole IUI experience too bad. We live 15 mins drive from our clinic though, so he does his bit a home and then I drop it in and then muck around for a while before going back for the IUI. I have also done the Ovidrel injection and pessaries the last couple of cycles. The injection was not too bad - I did it myself because I'm diabetic and used to injecting myself anyway, and it didn't really hurt much at all. Just make sure you inject it slowly and take it out of the fridge for a bit before you use it. The pessaries are OK too, just a bit messy - just make sure you lie down for a bit after you put one in and also wear a liner! Good luck with it all :)
DLT - I hope things are going well for you :) Fingers crossed for your IUI next week!
AFM, well my IUI that was scheduled for today has been cancelled :( I started tracking on Mon and my prog levels were already highish. They don't really know what happened I don't think because my E2 levels were quite high, but either I Oed on Monday and we missed seeing the surge because it happened the day before we started tracking, or the cyst on my ovary is breaking down and releasing progesterone, in which case this cycle is shot to pieces. So maybe we are in with a chance because we BDed at the right time fortunately, or maybe we have no chance - who knows? In any case its looking very likely we will be starting IVF in a couple of weeks when AF arrives, we see the FS next week to start things happening. I can't see the point in doing anymore IUI after this month's disaster, may as well just get the IVF thing happening now.
I'll probably lurk in here for a while and check your progress ;) but I'm pretty sure my IUI days are over now. Good luck you two! :)
-
Megsmum, sorry for you missing IUI this cycle. But fingers crossed for b'ding on time! Here's hoping you won't have to venture down the IVF path.
Please let us know if you get some good news in 2 weeks time!
-
Hi Everyone,
Megsmum - Thankyou for the tips - Sorry to hear your IUI was cancelled - GL with the IVF path but  you won't have to go down that path if you get a BFP!
DLT- How are you? - Have you had your IUI this cycle yet?
Well AFM - I start my injections tonight!!!!!! Excited and nervous i just want to get things started.
I will check in later to let you all know how i go.
Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday
xxBella
-
just quickly - I did it!!!  It was fine - the needle is so small you hardly feel it!
In case you can't tell i'm a bit excited
xxBella
-
Hi Bella, WELL DONE on doing your own injections! :cheer:I'm glad you found them easy to do! It's more your mind that psyches you up right ?
I went for blood and u/s yesterday, thinking that I would have at least another 2-3 days of injections, but they called yesterday and told me IUI was today! So I took the trigger yesterday (this time was quite sore), and have just come back from my IUI.
It was SUCH a relief this time, and it only took a couple of seconds and I felt NOTHING! So now I officially start the 2WW (or 2.5WW) and my Preg Test is scheduled for 27th August.
-
Ohhhhhh DLT sending you as many :pray::pink-babydust: and :stickyvibesboy: as i can. xxxx
xxBella
-
Thanks Bella :D I'll take it all...
Good luck with the rest of your injections.
-
Bella, how are you going with your injections? Are you any closer to scheduling your IUI?
megsmum, how are you doing? Any signs of AF showing or NOT showing?
I'm just struggling through the 2WW. My last pregnyl injection will be on Wednesday, and then it's a week until preg test.
-
Hi there DLT,
Yep AF arrived for me this morning - no surprises there!! So I am now popping the Pill for my first ever down reg IVF cycle, and start Synarel in 18 days time. Here's hoping everything goes to plan this time  Good luck for the rest of your TWW, hope it goes fast!!
Bella - Hope you are going well too? Have you had your IUI yet?
-
Hi megsmum,
Sorry to hear that AF arrived.
Best of luck with your IVF cycle and here's hoping it works first time for you. I would love to hear your experience with it, because if this IUI doesn't work for us this month, we'll be in the same boat as you.
-
Hi DLT and Megsmum
Megsmum - sorry to hear AF arrived - i wish you all the best for your IVF journey hopefully it will be only one cycle! Take care
DLT - how are you coping in the TWW?
AFM - I'm doing really well on the injections - no real side effects other than some minor bruising on my tummy. I had first scan and bt on fri (cd 7) estrogen was "on the low side" the scan - linning was 4mm r ovary 17 follicles with 9mm the biggest (4 at that size) and left 13 follicles x4 at 9mm so i continued same dose then....
had another bt and us today - didn't get the bloods back as there was a problem with the machine but linning up to 8mm R ovary 22 folicles largest 12mm left 10 follicles with 2 prominent x1 12mm and x1 15mm........so........
I'm having 75u tonight then call for bloods in am to get further instruction MAYBE iui on Fri waiting for more direction tom.... Feeling good and positive but knowiing i am going to be devastated if this doesn't work
Take care everyone and i will keep you posted
xxBella
-
Hi Bella,
Sounds like your IUI will definitely be this week. Good luck and hope it's an easy successful one for you!
I'm coping during the 2WW so far. Next Wed is my preg test, so PG I make it to then and AF doesn't decide to show. I'm praying for 3rd time lucky.
-
Bella, did you have your IUI this week? How did it go?
I'm officially starting to climb the walls waiting. I know it's only the weekend and the a couple days work, but it will definitely be worth the wait if there's good news at the end of it....
-
Hi DLT - No they cancelled my cycle :(:(:(
I have a FS appt on Wed - but the follicels grew and looked good two big ones left 12mm and 15mm and 2 12mm ones on the right but my estrogen level didn't rise infact it went down and was "too low" So i have had a rough few days i found out Wed last week. So i think we are going to take a break, it is taking it's toll on me and DH. We will see FS on Wed and see what he says and i have also made an appt to go and see Kate Stern at MIVF for a second opinion.
:pray::pray: So hard for you for Wed - i can't wait to hear!
xxBella
-
Hi Bella, I'm so sorry to hear they cancelled your cycle. It's really tough with this emotional rollercoaster, so just sending you and DH lots of strength in moving forward onto the next cycle.
AF is due today but hasn't arrived yet. I've had all the symptoms and signs that she's coming. Been moody for the past few days and been eating way too much. So, I don't have high expectations for making it to Wednesday, but we'll see. I'll update you.
-
Ok, I'm out. AF just arrived. So now it's onto IVF. It's quite daunting but we'll go to the doc and learn more about it. The one thing that is positive, is that the success rates are so much higher, so feeling good about that.
Good luck with your cycle!
-
DLT - I'm sorry to hear that AF has showed :( but good luck with your IVF cycle. Are you starting straight away? We did and I'm now just about to start my second week on the pill, and then I start Synarel at the end of next week. Nothing else really exciting is happening though yet LOL
Bella - I'm so very sorry that your cycle was cancelled  It's just horrible to not even get to first base so to speak. My last cycle got cancelled too when my prog levels started to rise, and when that happened it basically sent us straight to IVF, which was a huge blow to both me and DH. We are OK with it now (got no choice really!) but things were not good for a while there :( Anyway, I hope the break helps a little and that you get some answers on Wed. A second opinion sounds like a good plan to me too, all the best.
-
Hi Megsmum, yes, I think we'll start straight away. We have an appointment with RE next Friday to discuss our options of IVF etc, and we would like to start immediately.
Have you joined a forum for IVF? If so, which one as I'd like to read about people's experiences with it so far.
Good luck and hope your first round of IVF is all that it takes!
-
Hi DLT,
Good luck with your appt next Fri. No point in mucking around I guess, well that's what we thought anyway!
No, I haven't joined a forum yet. I will probably just join the thread here for LTTTC and AC I think. Although I must admit I haven't yet, I'm a bit worried about things going wrong in this first cycle like getting OHSS and being cancelled, or not getting any embies. And after my m/c last year as well, I'm getting a bit depressed about having to post with bad news all the time KWIM? I don't know, I really can't make up my mind about joining the other thread! I change my mind all the time LOL But I'd say that I will at some stage :)
-
Hi,
Yip, I know exactly what you mean. I stopped posting during my 2nd IUI 2WW so that I didn't get caught up in it all.
Anyway, best of luck to you, and if you want a chat, I'll be here.
Thanks for the GL wishes. I'm praying hard that IVF #1 is it for both of us!
-
Hi DLT,
Well August is over and we just completed our second IUI cycle. We're doing a "natural"one this month - that is, no FSH. But we get all the other bells and whistles (like Pregnyl :-( ).
Someone was mentioning earlier about progesterone boosting supplements. I'm not convinced they make a difference - it's the fertilised egg that produces the gestational level of progesterone it needs for implantation and to feed itself. Yes, support yourself with supplements - God knows the medical fraternity will poo-poo it the whole way. But don't forget, your egg knows what it needs, and if its a good egg, it will get itself across the line.
:-)
OP.
