Cd 43 today girls;I'm so down on this whole TTC thing. I don't feel like doing anything.
I took 100mg of clomid CD5-9 and it was my first round. My doctor only said AF would come sooner or later. I think I may wait through the weekend and then I'm calling him. Hopefully he'll help me with something. I hate to say this Sam but I am glad I'm not in the boat alone but know your frustrations! Like someone said it's bad enough for the 2ww but 3,4,or 5 is for the birds!
I will keep you all updated as I get anything but wish you all the best!
My doc says next cycle he is uping my dose to 150mg clomid. Should I take them CD5-9 or what do you think? Just curious.
Have a great one and I'll talk to you all soon.
Hugs~

Sorry to barge in here like this but I have a ? about clomid and figured this was the best place to ask it :)
Is clomid just used for PCOS sufferers or can it be used to regulate ovulation or boost ovulation? Reason Im asking is my ovulation seems to be all over the place (if I ovulate at all) which results in my cycle being anywhere from 22-36 days long. Im due to go see my FS to sort it out and was curious to know if he would consider putting me on clomid.
Thanks so much for any advice you guys can give me!!!!
-
Hi AnnaT. Clomid isn't just used for women with PCOS, it's used for pretty much all disorders that involve ovulation - women who are annovulatory, luteal phase defects, not ovulating well enough, also for women who may have lost a tube as it can help them ovulate on both sides. It seems to be the first line treatment in many cases, but it just doesn't work for me. I only ever had one round of 50mg, which didn't make me ovulate, but did give me severe anxiety problems - so bad that I'm not willing to ever take it again. My FS is trying me on another drug (we may be doing IVF, but I still need to ovulate somehow in order to have a FET) which is fairly new - letrozole. Does the same thing as clomid, but uses a different mechanism in the body.
Hope this helps!

Hi
Hello Ladies..I'm Samantha. I have Stage 2(Mild) Endometriosis. I have bee ttc #1 for almost three years now. I didn't get dx with Endo until June 06. I was put on Clomid 50mg in September and got pregnant the first round. I miscarried twins at 8 wks and 10wks in Nov. I have been on 5 cycles of 50mg Clomid so far with no luck since the m/c. I am now on Metformin 500mg twice a day and Clomid 100mg. This is my first time on Metformin and my first time on 100mg of CLomid. I am not use to the 100mg..its really making me tired compared to my 50mg. Hope to get to know each and everyone of you.
Good Luck to each and everyone of you with ttc. I get so fustrated sometimes, but I still have hope.
-
Hi Samantha,
Welcome to BB!
I hope that the metformin and Clomid 100mg is the right combo for you :)
Have you had a laproscopy to help with your Endometriosis?
Also, when are you taking the Clomid? I take mine at night and it seems to minimise the side effects because I am alseep.
SAM :)

Guess I can sit myself in here for real now! Hope ya'll dont mind :D
My FS has decided to put me on 50mg clomid for 4 cycles and is pretty sure it will be our magic fix for TTC. He told me that the reason why we keep losing pregnancies is due to a 'corpus luteum insufficiency' where the CL cyst that forms in early pregnancy and releases the hormones to sustain it while the placenta forms is dissolving before its supposed to so the pregnancy miscarries. The clomid should fix that.
So bring on a baby!
Any advice about clomid etc is more than welcome. I took my first tablet tonight.
-
Anna, my FS thinks that CL insufficency is one of my problems as well. I am not on clomid to address that though (also had VERY short LP too), but I am on oestrogen tabs for most of my cycle and then when I get pg, I am on oestrogen patches and progesterone pesseries to assist horomone levels until placenta kicks in around 14 - 16 weeks.
Hope clomids works well for you.
Welcome Samantha. Hope your stay here is short and sweet!
Well, I am nearing the end of my TWW and I have had a little bit of spotting for a few days. Don't know what to make of it, so I am not getting my hopes up nor becoming too upset at the sight of it. Just sitting on the fence until something is revealed one way or another. Been here too many times to get too excited or depressed.
-
Have you had a laproscopy to help with your Endometriosis? Yes, I had it in June of 2006. It was burned off and I havent had any problems since.
-
Hayseed, wow I have only just heard of this CL insufficiency and now youve told me you have the same thing. Ive been wondering how common it is considering all the m/c's I hear about. Funny you should say about the oestrogen patches and progesterone pesseries, I was thinking last night shouldnt I be on them. Might have to ring DR and ask if I get a BFP.
-
Afternoon Ladies,
Hayseed - Had a wonderful time at the Grampians, it's a very beautiful area.
AnnaT and SamanthaLyn - Welcome, may your stays be enjoyable but brief.
Sam and Penny - Any sign of the wench yet?
Man this 2ww has been the longest that I think I can remember, I really feel for you Sam and Penny! I am on CD22 today, didn't even have a blood test on CD21 (I guess my gyno has decided that since I ovulated the last 2 times, I would this time as well, either that or he is fairly convinced that Clomid will not work for us and is not going to bother with any more tests now that we have been referred to IVF)
Have registered and received our information pack in the mail last night, I had a quick scan through the documents, but have not booked for the prelim tests yet - will have to read through the documentation again.
I have had really tender breasts the last week and I am wondering whether it is a symptom of the Clomid – had anybody else had this as a symptom?
Hope everybody else is doing well.
:D

Hi ladies,
Well today is CD49 for me...how-ever my doc called me in provera yesterday and I took
my first of 5 10mg pills yesterday at 11am. After I start my AF he has uped my clomid to 150mg. He said days 5-9 but what do you think? I only want to take it to benifit me...does that sound concieted? I want this to work and I heard that taking it different days could help. Just wondering!
Sam.has she found you yet?
I'm still feeling kinda bummed but glad that doc is finally doing something.
Oh yea on the OPK's when do I start testing? My doc says start on the 13th day. I'm just asking because last cycle I got nothing and I'm just worried that I won't with this one.
I also got the musenex(spelling wrong)for CM...the tablets are 400mg/how much and when do I start taking this med to help with CM?
I know that the only way that I'll get preggo is with your help everyone here seems so smart and I just know I'll get it but love the advice you all give to me!
I haven't started my AF yet but praying she comes very quickly so I can move on to round #2. I hope and pray this works this time! I FEEL for all of you that have tried this more than 2 times and have gotten no-where and I hope thats not the case with me and hope that you all get those BFP very soon!
Thanks for any and all advice!
Hugs and I'll talk to you soon!
-
Hey Ladies...hope you are all well.
Penny, I really hope that AF comes quickly for you! I take Clomid on Days 5-9 too. I would say to just take them when your Dr says.
ATT, fingers crossed that this Clomid cycle is the one for you so you don't need to go onto IVF. I have never had tender breasts when taking Clomid....maybe this is a good sign for you?
Hayseed, how is everything with you? Is it testing time yet?
Kristie, any sign of O yet?
AnnaT, I hope that the 50mg gives your ovaries the kick start they need!
As for me....I am on CD45 today....no ovulation on 100mg Clomid. I spoke to my FS yesterday and he said to take Provera for 7 days then wait for AF then start 150mg Clomid. If 150mg doesn't work I will have a laproscopy done and then start injections.
Have a great day girls!
SAM :)

Hi Girls,
Havent dropped in for a while hope you are all doing well come on lets get lots of BFP's this month!!!
Well im on cd 14 havent 0ed as yet but i think it will be over the weekend???
Good luck to everyonr ttc this cycle!!
Thinking of you all
Kristie
-
Just a ?, how are you guys knowing if you O on clomid or not? At this stage my OBGYN has just told me to go for a CD21 prog test every cycle until we get a BFP OR the 4mths are up.
He told me if I take it on CD5-9 then I can be pretty sure of O on CD14. This cycle it would be CD15 because I started CD6-10. (He is anti-OPK, says theyre a waste of time because they can tell you youve Od when you havent and vice cersa).
Is that what you've been told?
-
i was given similar advice for the OPK's - can't remember why.
i just had the day 21 tests - if it showed positive for o (which it unfortunately didn't) - they'd then do the follow up re hcg later...
-
Hi Anna,
I was given a blood test on day 12 then (depending on the results) an ultrasound on day 13/14 (where they counted and measured the follies), then day 21 tests. I o'd everytime on day 14ish and had really good follie counts each time (one time we were even told maybe we shouldn't DTD as we almost had too many).
I was a Clomid success in every way - except no BFP ! But then we found out that i had loads of endo, so that was our problem.
Wishing you all the best.
-
Anna - I had the BT's for the first month or two to establish that I had O'd, then they didn't worry after that. I was taking Clomid days 3-7 and at the start I still didn't O until Day 24, then it started getting quicker each month - to either CD 18 or 19. But the main sign for me was I had intense ovulation pain in my right ovary for the first time in my life, so I knew it was working. I was told that OPK's aren't accurate for people with PCOS, but I can't remember the reason why.
-
Hi ladies. It has been a while since I was back here and I don't really know many people in here anymore. I am still having a break from fertility treatment but due to go back soon to get started again. I just wanted to pop in and wish everyone all the luck in the world. I want to see some PG announcements girls
Also in regards to the OPK thing I am pretty sure that it is not much use having OPKs because with PCOS we have a higher LH level (I think that is right please correct me if I am wrong). Personally because of the PCOS I get a +OPK anytime not really dark but there is always a second line
Have a great day.
-
Hi Anna,
My first cycle of 50mg I had two BTs, one on CD21 and one on CD26 and both were very low levels of progesterone so I hadn't O'd.
My second cycle was 100mg and I asked my FS to have scans to see if anything was growing...so I had a scan on CD14 and nothing happening and then another scan on CD21 and nothing happening.
My third cycle will be 150mg and if nothing happens then I will move into FSH injections.
SAM :)

Have any of you experienced pins and needles in your hands/feet, nausea or backache/cramps taking clomid?
I thought I was doing ok with no symptoms but Im starting to feel sick in the stomach and getting pins/needles + cramps.
Better be doing something in there lol
-
I don't have PCOS so OPKs work fine for me. Penny, how long is your cycle normally? I would follow the days on the OPK leaflet of when to start testing., I always try to start testing with OPKs about cd11 or 12 and keep going until I get a +ve. I usually O around cd 14 noaturally, but on clomid, it could be cd16 or 17. I do them more because it tells me when I can stop the bd sessions. Sounds awful huh? But when you are ending up just haing sex for the sake of a routine, I'd rather know when we can stop it! And then do it for pleasure!!
I have to go for a blood test in a couple of days. May have some news by the end of the week???????
-
I used OpK's this month i have had a faint line for the last four days but they said on the instructions that if its faint its neg??? so im not sure! I 0ed last month of 50mg of clomid and 1000mg met so he said once we find the right dosage for you we can stay on that for a few months or a bit longer til i fall pg etc if not he reccommends Ovarian drilling but thats a whole other story! So as i 0ed last month even though it was a few days late i assumed i would 0 this month so we have bd every other day so hopefully we caught that eggie.I have to get my blood test tomorrow or Friday he said day 21-22 and i see my ob/gyn on the 2nd May to find out the results.
Good Luck to all
Kristie
-
Hey Ladies!
Kristie...I hope you have caught that eggie...sending you lots of baby dust.
Hayseed....good luck with your BT.
AnnaT...I have had nausea and cramps with Clomid but no pins and needles.
As for me...I finished taking Provera on Monday and am waiting (not so patiently) for AF to show up. So far nothing! Not too sure how long it is meant to take. My FS said "a couple of days". Last time I took Provera it took about 6 days and then I only got very light spotting. So who knows what is going on?
Hope you all have good days!
SAM :)
-
Morning Ladies,
Hayseed - Any news yet?
Sammy - Has AF arrived yet? Here's hoping she arrives soon and you can start on the next round of Clomid.
Kristie - Hope the blood test on the 2nd of May shows that you have ovulated and that you BD'd and caught the egg!
Anna - Hope the side effects have worn off!
Ktgirl - Hi, good luck when you commence treatment again. In the mean time enjoy the break!
As for me, after speaking to my gyno I have decided to give the Clomid one last shot (After all I had already paid for it and had the pills sitting at home)
Have registered for IVF and have booked in to have all our remaining preliminary tests done on the 15th of June.
If we decide to go down the IVF path we are our choices are September and December as they are the months they run the clinic at our regional centre.
Hope everyone is well and that those in the 2ww have a pleasant surprise at the end!
Have a nice weekend
:D
-
ATryingTime - everything bar the nausea and cramps have worn off. Sorry if Im being nosy but where abouts are you in Victoria? I hope the clomid does the trick for you this cycle. Any reason why they arent upping it to 100mg?
Hmm Im still having some weird aches and cramps in my tummy. Mostly in my back and down my sides into my hips. Im assuming its the clomid causing it and probably because Im pretty sure I ovulated yesterday as the cramps were the worst then.
We dtd twice yesterday and I'll attack DH tonight just to be sure soooooooo hopefully we'll be getting great news on May 15th!
-
Hi Anna,
Glad that the worst of the side effects have worn off.
I live near Castlemaine in Central Vic, I will be going to Monash's Bendigo clinic if we go down the IVF route.
Hoping that the cramping is ovulation and that you BD at the right time, catch the egg and get a BFP.
They are not upping my dosage of Clomid as I was already ovulating without it and have ovulated every month so far, with very high progesterone levels on my day 21 tests.
-
ATT, if you go down IVF route, will your dr be Nick Lolatgis?? I know he does the regional clinic at Bendigo (normally operates out of Epworth and his own consulting rooms in Clayton). He is my FS.
-
Hi Hayseed,
Yes,I am fairly certain that Nick would be my doctor if we do IVF. How do you find him?
-
I just went to the LTTTC and assisted conception thread instead of this one. Couldn't work out why I didn't recognise any of the names!!! Derrrrr....LOL
ATT, Nick is GREAT. I find him fairly straight forward. He is no nonsense and tells you like it is. No bullsh*tting you round, which I find refreshing. And what I love best, is that despite all the women that he sees, every time he speaks to you, you get the impression that he remembers your case intimately. Maybe he does, or maybe he quickly gets a rundown from the receptionist. I dunno. Maybe I've been with him for so long now, he really does know my situation intimately! LOL But he is willing to think outside the square, he is willing to look at other treatments. He also rings you pretty much straight back if you haven't been able to speak to him when you ring. And nothing seems a hassle for him. As you can tell, I think he is wonderful.
-
Don't know if anyone remembers me, I have been away from this site for many months.
Just wanted to pop in to let you know that after a very early loss at the beginning of March, I am now pregnant. Infact, I have two on board! Stopped taking Clomid a few months ago but it sure seems to have given me a good kick start!
I am moving overseas very shortly (due to my work) and will not be visiting that often. I will try to keep an eye on you all whenever I can and let you know how I am going. So looking forward to these new additions. I am so lucky that my work means that i don't have to be parted from my kids (non-school age come with me every day). I wouldn't do it if I had to be.
Thankyou for all your support over the past 18 months or so. I wouldn't have kept going without it. I wish each and every one of you all the best. And remember, when it seems as if all is lost, something happens to show you that it isn't.
Hugs,
Debbie
-
Hi Debbie,
That is awesome news....congrats!! Good luck with the move.
HOw is everyone else doing?
As for me....My FS told me to start Clomid 150mg even though I hadnt got AF and then two days later AF started! so not sure what is going on. I had really bad side effects with this cycle of Clomid...extreme nausea, hot flushes and even crazy lines in my vision. I didn't even take the last day's tablets.
I started acupuncture this week too :) So hopefully that will help to kick start something too.
Hope everyone is well.
SAM :)
-
I got a BFP two days ago so I'll be moving on to the Jan DD thread.
Thanks for all the advice and support :)
-
Hi Anna,
That is so awesome! CONGRATS!!!
Good luck with everything.
As for me...I have an appt with my FS this arvo. So hopefully he will do a scan and see what is going on??
SAM :)
-
Morning Ladies,
Hayseed - It sure sounds like Nick is a great FS, although I hope we don't need to get to that stage, it sounds as though we will be in good hands.
Can you tell me if the offer IUI at Monash? I think I would like to explore this option before a full stim cycle.
How are things going with you?
Debbie - Congrats on your BFP - It's nice to hear that Clomid can still help after the period of taking it. Good luck with the move and all the best with whatever comes next.
Anna - Congratulations on your BFP! All the best for a happy and healthy pregnancy.
Sam - Good luck with your appointment this arvo, I hope that you get some answers to your questions!
Have you seen him since you got AF half way through your cycle of Clomid?
Well I am CD14 today, have had some EWCM so have been making the most of it IYKWIM
Hoping that this cycle is the one.
I am also having hormone monitoring done this cycle, so hopefully that may shed some light. My acupuncturist has also given me some herbs to take, so I am fairly sure I have covered all the bases.
Hope everyone is well and coping with the stresses of TTC.
Have a lovely day!
:D
-
Hey ATT!
Fingers crossed this is the cycle for yoU!!
Nope I haven't seen the Dr since getting AF half through my Clomid cycle. I am so nervous he is going to tell me that it is a bust because of what happened.
Mind you, I am not expecting it to have worked anyway because it hasn't before.
SAM :)

need your help
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just wanted to ask a question
i am new to this site so wish you all luck in getting a bfp soon
well im on clomid and have been now for 3 months the 1st 2 months i did O but my af were around 5 to 7 days late each month
this month the doc give me again a blood test on day 23 but he said i didnt O this month i am now going onto day 39 tomorrow and stilll no sign of af coming
has anyone ever O 'd late and had a bfp late
or has anyone ever had bloods taken on day 23 showed you didnt O but then got a bfp later that month
what do you all think on this matter
do you think i could be preg or is af late as i didnt O this month
i really need on this matter my mind is going crazy not knowing
-
Hi Kellrobryan,
You definitely could just be ovulating late. I have heard of a lot of women on Clomid that O late in their cycles.
And you may have ovulated by the time of your BT...but it takes 7 days to show up in a BT that you have ovulated. So maybe another BT??
Have you been charting your temps?
SAM :)
-
Hi all long time but just didn't want to jinx myself...But,
I went and bought the digital OPK with the smiley face and I got it today!!!
