Hey everyone,
i have a question for anyone that can answer it for me. I have been on metformin 1500mg a day and this is my 6th week and so far nothing has changed so i dont think it is working, how am i goin to know that it is working? and when you are on metformin are you ment to have regular doctors appointments? because since i have been on it i havent had one appointment. The doctor did say to make an appointment with her next week but that will be the first time. so i was just wonderin is there certain regular tests that i should be having done to see if it is haveing any affect on me?
If someone has any answers that would be great.
thanks
Come on AF! Hahaha, wish she would come early for once!
Steffy - I am just about to start my first cycle of Clomid also, just as soon as AF comes. I'm guessing it'll be tomorrow or Thursday. Good luck with it!
Hi kristie,
I think its really good that you aren't having any side effects of the medication. I have read that you are supposed to have regular tests, though I'm not 100% sure how regular. Maybe 6 weeks is the right time? Definately bring it up with your dr if you don't get a clear answer on here.
Ladies I have just had confirmation that I have ovulated
(and I apparently ovulated very well :confetti:...though Im not sure how you would exactly measure that) so now at least I am on the right page.
And now we wait for af or ..........Im not even going to say it!!!! :bluedust:
And my wonderful gyno is sending my next clomid script just in case, but here's hoping I wont need it:pray:
Congrats Lismith,
Hoping for a big fat BFP for you this month....

Kazz - I see from your ticker that you're still waiting for AF! Have you re-tested? I see so many stories about people who didn't get a BFP til weeks after AF was due.
Lismith, congrats on your ovulation! What day are you on now?
Hiya all,
AF turned up today.....BOOHOO.....start 3rd round of clomid in a couple of days.....YAY

Hi all,
I was just wondering when people say that they are on their first round of clomid or metformin what does that specifically mean? Does it mean the first round is over once af arrives or is a round classed as a month? hope someone can help me i am very confused.
thanks
Kristie - I have always referred a "round of clomid" to a cycle, which may not necessarily be a month, depends on how long your cycle normally goes for. HTH
Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone else out there had taken Clomid, had it "work" for three months (but no BFP) then on the fourth round got that terrible flu that is going around at O time and have it appear not to work.. or at least not well. I guess the question is, can having the flu affect the outcome of Clomid? Thanks in advance for any info on this one! :
:)
Lily
Hi Lily
My personal experience with Clomid: it "worked" for the first four rounds (no BFP) then on the 5th round I did get the flu and had written the cycle off and got a BFP. My 6th round (approx 8mths later) got the flu and didn't realise it had worked again. (unfortunately both pregnancies ended in m/c). So I'm thinking that flu like symptoms have kind of distracted me both times - but I've put it down to coincedence - so don't get your hopes up, based on my experiences, but just thought I would share.
Just when I was feeling totally pessimistic about everything, I got myself a :bfp:!!! Did an HPT yesterday, then raced off for a BT which confirmed it. I'm amazed - I was convinced AF was coming since I've had cramps for days (and still do), but there were a few hints - temps stayed up, sore breasts, and - of course – AF being late. Made my husband a cake with two blue stripes on the top to break the news - he had no idea what it meant! I've already booked myself an ob and now I'm praying for a sticky bub...
Kazz, I bet your BFP is just around the corner. You must be in the tablet phase of your cycle - how are you doing?
Sending you all lots of :bluedust:!
Oooooooo! mgm! Congrats on your BFP!!!!!!!
I'm on CD 5 now, have two more days on clomid. I must be one of the lucky ones because I have had hardly any symptoms. Except for a MASSIVE headache that seems to persist even after panadol and neurofen. Feels like a migrane headache *ouchies* And an overwhelming sense of fatigue, though that could be because of AF too... Oh well, we will see what happens at the scan next Wednesday.
Good luck to everyone :)
Congrats MGM...That is fantastic
I hope everything works out for you this time....can I ask what day you tested???
I am now sitting at cd30 and no obvious signs of af appearing.....still bad constipation and even by my standards, my toilet activity has increased especially at night.....oh please
But I'm a little scared of having another BFN, which is why I want to hold off on the test as long as I can... Can anyone confirm the latest day you can have a period after ovulation...I have read 14-17days..which still gives me 2 more possible days for af!!
Hey :bluedust: for everyone, lets see if we can all follow mgm's example.
Lis
Hi Lis,
Just wondering - what dose of Clomid were you on your first round? And what dose were you on this round when you did ovulate? (I bet I vould find this info if I searched it but ... being lazy today lol). Just wondering - I've got PCOS and FS has only got me on 25mg (something about people with PCOS being sensitive to it).
Thanks Alicia & Lis. Lis, I tested on CD36. My previous two cycles had been 33 days with ) on day 19 or 20, but on this particular cycle I'd ovulated earlier (according to temps and an u/s that my FS did), so I must have been a good 20 days post-O. I've never been an early tester - too scared of disappointments!
I think 14 days is pretty average for luteal phase - never heard of 17, but it's not something I've really looked into. Why don't you wait 2 more days, then test. Less risk of a false negative that way, too. Good luck!!!
Alicia -I am on 50mg and have been for both months and will be for the 3rd round if af appears. Just to prove that each cycle is unpredictable....
MGM - Thanks for the support, yes your right I am going to wait, the problem with not having af for 7 months, is that it may be too easy to misinterpret symptoms...and either way it will be a win for this cycle.....I am going to hold off till later this week, I have to assume if she is gonna come she will before the weekend.....but I hope not :bluedust::bluedust::bluedust::bluedust:and one for luck :bluedust:
 How frustrating for it to not work, and then work at the same dose. I'm hoping it'll work now, but I have a feeling it's not going to, which is frustrating. I guess I'll just wait and see next Wednesday.
