Hi Everyone,
Looks like we're all in the 2WW now! I hope we all get our BFP's this month and join lismith :bluedust:
leasha - I hope your 2WW goes really quickly and ends with good news
Mum2jaden - I've got my :crossfingers: for you!
Racey - Sorry I've got no advice re. CD21 BT results but I hope you get your BFP really soon
Twomums - Good on you for waiting to test! Its so hard though isn't it? Those last few days of the 2WW just go sooooooo slowly. Its impossible not to go crazy! I hope you get your BFP in a couple of days. Even if you don't, its not over until AF arrives. ;)
Me - I'm 15DPO now. I tested yesterday and got a BFN. :( Very depressing but on a positive note, no sign of AF and my temps are still up today. If temps are still up tomorrow I'll test again then.
Just wondering, for those of you who this is not your first Clomid cycle, what was your LP length while on Clomid? Naturally, my LP length was 13 days. I know the Clomid can lengthen the LP but how much?
:bluedust: All round!
-
Hi Principessa
I dont if this will help but in my first month when it worked I went up to 17D LP and then this time my test was positive at cd 13 and it was strange because yesterday would have been my 17dpo and I had really obvious af symptoms, to the point where I thought I might be losing it but nothing came and then today im fine. But everyone is different as you will have read some women dont ever get a positive test:wall:.....so there is always hope.
look for the little signs....Mine were horrible taste and really vivid dreams and my nipples have started to change colour at the ends....boobs havent started to grow yet sadly.....if this doesnt change I may have to get my money back!!!!!!:)
It would be fantastic to get some more bfp's in here:bluedust: for everyone and keep up the positve vibes xx
-
Hello all,
Just joined you guys (for #2). I'm waiting for AF to start (just finished provera) and will be on clomid soon due to pcos. Waiting for yesterday's BT to come back...anyways, I'll be lurking around here from now on, so yes, hello all.
ETA: BT back and it was low estrogen (sp?) levels. I've been told to stop b'feeding () and when I get my first natural AF to go back for more BT's.
-
Hi Everyone,
Just checking in to let you know I'm out this month. :( AF has arrived today. I've got my :crossfingers: for the rest of you in the TWW. I hope we'll have some more BFPs really soon. Good luck!
lismith -Thanks for advice. Its great that your pg is going so well! Sending you some :stickyvibesboy::stickyvibesgirl: Hopefully next cycle will be my time.
-
so sorry principessa... we have done a test on 15dpo today and its a negative, kim still hasnt got AF yet tho... will keep testing until monday and if she hasnt got it by then, go for the blood test. But i think we are out too...should show up by 15dpo surely. Probably just the pessaries delaying AF...
-
Yep we're out, kim got AF today.... :( So we are now on a TTC break for 3 months due to our overseas holiday to Malta in June next year...in the meantime i think we'll look into a laparoscopy for Kim as i suspect some endometriosis...she has god awful period pains every month, as well as back pain, nausea, pain shooting down the legs for 4 days or more... Good luck to everyone else on the TWW!!
-
Hi ladies, mind if I join in?!! I started my first round of clomid this month, 50mg Days 3-7. I usually know my body fairly well, but this month it's game on as I have no idea if I've O'd or not! Frustrating. Anyone else found they had mixed body signs while on clomid? Anyway, we are TTC#2 and have been since 2005.
Princesspea and Twomums - so sorry to hear that the witch found you this month. Best of luck for this coming cycle. Twomums - enjoy your TTC break!
Racey - I had an O level of 26 last cycle and my FS put me on clomid to help strengthen my O as he said that level indicated O but not all that strongely. Your FS might up your dose of clomid for next cycle.
Lisa - congratulations on your BFP!!
Anyway ladies, hope to get to know you all very soon and look forward to sharing many BFPs with you all in the weeks/months to come :)
Sam

Round one on clomid - 50mg Days 3-7
Operation clomid has begun
-
Hi Everyone,
Twomums - So sorry AF arrived. Enjoy your TTC break! You'll be refreshed and ready for your BFP next cycle. :bluedust:
Twinkie - This is my 2nd cycle now. Last cycle I was SURE I was getting ready to O (ewcm etc) but my BT showed I wasn't. Then when I actually did O it caught me by surprise. Good luck :goodluck:
Me - Starting the whole process again now. I really hope I O quickly this time - last cycle I had to wait until CD29. :crossfingers:
-
Hi ladies,
Not much happening with me, but just thought I'd drop in and say hi. AF should be due sometime from this weekend. Haven't got high hopes for a BFP, but then again I guess you never do know!
Principessa - fingers crossed clomid treats you kind this month and you O earlier than you did last month. I have heard it's common for your cycles to get shorter each progressive clomid cycle. At least you are getting BT tracking. I have found it so frustrating not knowing what my body is doing while on clomid, lots of confused body signs!! FS isn't tracking us. But I might ask for some tracking by our third cycle if we still aren't pregnant. OMG, I suddenly feel really sick!! A wave of nausea hit me as I was typing. Food poisoning or could it be..........feel like I'm going to hurl!! I didn't get MS with DS, so this is a new thing for me. I'll blame the clomid for now....
-
Just a question if anybody knows about spotting before period.....When my periods came back after having my one and only child I started spotting up to a week before my period, this has never happened my entire life.....the doctors and FS reckon this is OK/normal.....I've been trying to get pregnant for a year and a half with no luck, I've just done 4 months of clomid and this didn't change anything either........does anyone have any info on the spotting thing....because it seems to be the biggest mystery ever........

Hi All
MUM2JADEN have you had any investigations into the spotting, like a Hy Co Sy or Hysteroscopy. One Ultrasonogher I had one time when I was having an Ultrasound, asked me if I had spotting before I had my AF and he said sometimes things like fibriods can cause this to happen. If you haven't had any investigations I would probably start asking for some.
Hi Twinkie. I have just done my second round of Clomid and I didn't get any signs of ovulation like I did when I wasn't taking the Clomid. But as you answered me earlier my Progesterone BT results were 26 and he said that I did O but not very strongly. So who knows what this Clomid will do but hopefully you will get your BFP soon.
-
Good morning! Hope you don't mind if I join in? I just signed up for this group and have been dealing with our struggles alone. I'm on my third month of chlomid. 1st month 50mg chlomid and 2nd & 3rd month 100mg chlomid. I am 8 dpo and waiting for my progesterone levels . My last levels were 12.4, is this good or bad?
-
Welcome to the thread Hopefull, i must say that we've never had a progesterone level done after any of our IUI's... i think with the ultrasounds and HCG trigger shot we get its not so important, do you guys track ovulation by ultrasound or bloods before ovulation? Do you trigger with HCG to ensure you ovulate?
-
Hi all.... well 2 BFN's so far... on 25mg... he's decided my rise is too slow, progesteone too low, and put me on 50mg CD2-6... I'm really worried about OHSS, since I ovulated quite well on 25mg... But as yet, no symptoms except a hot flush abou an hour after I take the Clomid. Which is fine, I can deal with that lol!
Hopefull: I've heard that progesterone levels should be above 10-15ng/ml in the luteal phase. So you've probably been put on a higher Clomid dose to help the levels and the rise (I think thats why I have).
-
Just updating that AF found me and I'm onto round two of clomid today. I'm glad to be on my second round, to tell you the truth, as at least now I know how my body reacts to the clomid! Best of luck to those testing soon!
Sam

Good Luck on round two Twinkie!!

Hi all, I hope you don't mind if I join in your group.
quick story about me....
I have one son who was conceived via IVF after attempting absolutely everything else. I have PCOS and don't have a regular cycle.
I am on metformin constantly and dr has given me clomid. I took it 2 cycles ago and nothing happened. So I am considering taking it again this cycle.
He has suggested 50mg days 4 to 9. What do all you ladies who take clomid do? Similar??
-
Hi belmarks :hello:
I'm on my 2nd cycle of Clomid now. 1st cycle I O'd on CD29 but this cycle on CD16  Each cycle I have taken Clomid CD2-6 then had a BT and gone from there. This cycle I took 50mg CD2-6 then had a BT CD10. Then I took 50mg from CD10-12. I then had a BT on CD14 and an U/S and trigger on CD15.
From my experience and what I understand you really need to be closely monitored. I have PCO and my FS has told me that Clomid might work one cycle at a particular dose and then not the next. Basically my FS gets me started each cycle, monitors me and I keep taking Clomid until I O.
:crossfingers: I won't need another cycle but if I do I'm sure the regime will be different again.
Good luck :goodluck:
-
OMG I have read so many of these and everyone is mentioning Clomid??? what is that...
i was on Synarel, Gonarel, Pregnyl and now the delightful gel i have to insert each night called Crinone.......are all those other ones the same but different names???
-
Hi everyone it sure has been a long time since I was here***update***
I'm on my 5th round of clomid 2nd at 150mg and let me say the hotflashes are the worse!
I've only O'd one time and that was in July so here I am in Oct. waiting as we speak to O using clomid. Not too sure if it will work or not. Have had EWCM for the last three days but no positive opk. Just got done doing the deed in case something happens.
I wish you all luck with the clomid it just doesn't seem to be the med for me. The doctor talked to me about injectables...does anyone know about these and how they work and how much money they would cost? Just putting myself in a bad mood...it has been a year since I've been TTC!!! It was a year on 8/31/07 that I had my TR. Please say my dream isn't over yet!
Love to all and lots of babydust too...just throw some my way please!

Hi, hope you all don't mind me joining this thread. I've been lurking around mainly in TTC after M/C but I think it's time for me to lurk here... I conceived 1st cycle of clomid (50mg), M/c at 11wks:( and now TTC again. My FS induced AF and I started on 50mg cd 5-9 BUT nothing happening. Unfortunately I've put on some kgs (post m/c comfort food) I reckon this is why I didn't respond. I'm now working hard at losing some weight, but should I increase the dose next cycle or wait. I don't want to end up with too many eggies ready to be released if I've lost some weight in that time. Any ideas anyone:confused:??
Sending :bluedust: to everyone

Hi all,
Just wanted to come in and say hi.
I have been on other forums within BB and decided that this is probably the best one for me.
I am on my first month of clomid (25mg). I seem to be ovulating, but I am spotting way to early before my AF is due. I am also on Metformin for about 6 months.
The Dr decided to give my a low dosage of Clomid to try and rectify this.
Has anybody else had clomid to try and rectify early spotting????

Hi and a big welcome to Syran and Nellsbells, this thread has been pretty quiet lately, so glad to have you here. There is no news from me because we are still on a TTC break until January, but can probably let you know what to expect from Clomid and IUI's, thats about it. Dont have PCOS so dont know much about that either, but can sympathise and be a cheerleader for you guys on your journey!!
Syran with the spotting and clomid, i would think that your dr is trying to get you to have a longer leutal phase before spotting (14 days would be good) and the clomid makes a better corpus leutum, so a stronger ovulation all round, plus a higher progesterone level, to help with the leutal phase.
-
Hi, another wanting to join in if possible :) I'm Megs, currently TTC #2, I have PCOS and I'm currently in 2WW after first round of Clomid (50mg days 5-9). My DS was conceived second cycle of Clomid last year. Clomid this time made me go completely nutty, I became paranoid and was terrified to be in my own home after DH had left for work, so I'm dreading another cycle!
-
Hi everyone, I'm on day 28 of first month of 50mg clomid but spotting so have given up hope and the pms has been completely insane, crying at the drop of a hat, starting to cramp, hating being on the whole TTC train again even though I am eternally grateful for the DD and it does make TTC a little easier this time, I have would love her to have a sibling.
Anyone else going OUT OF THEIR MIND with clomid pms? You Muggins?!

Hi all.... well the 50mg did nothing for me... strangely.... I ovulated both times on 25mg, but my body is being stupid and I didn't ovulate on 50mg and the follicle is now a cyst... Am about to start my 4th round of Clomid, 50mg again, and if this one doesn't work then hopefully the dr will try injectables as I've heard they are a lot better.
I get really paranoid on the Clomid, and the hot flashes, and the 5-day long headaches... but if thats what its going to take...!
-
Emmalina I'm about 8DPO and my husband is seriously copping it! My fuse is insanely short!!
Alisia good luck with round 4!
-
Hey Alisia, what does it mean if you get a cyst? Does it just go away by itself? How long does it take? Does it interfere with your next cycle? Is it painful?
I've never done clomid on its own before and my ob has put me on it - not seeing ivf dr til late Nov. Ob wasn't particularly expansive in his explanation of the possible side effects so I know a cyst can happen but don't know what he means.
Oh yeah and muggins he said I'd be a b**ch before my period but didn't tell me that I'd be a teary volatile basketcase who keeps messing up at work because she can't think straight!

Hi Everyone,
Glad to see that the thread has kicked off again. I know I've been MIA for a while but I've just been going quietly and keeping my head down as I got a BFP on 16th Oct.
So the details.....I was 17DPO when I got the BFP. I was sure AF was coming as I had light cramps (no other pg symptoms) and got a BFN at 15DPO. This was my 2nd round of clomid: 50mg cd2-6 then 50mg cd10-12 then HCG trigger on CD15.
So I'm 6weeks 2days pg today (too nervous to put a ticker on ). Just now trying to get through the :ms: and waiting for that first U/S.
Sryan, Muggins, Emmalina - Good luck with your Clomid journeys - I hope they're short and sweet. My only realy symptom on Clomid was the wicked hot flushes that usually happened in the middle of the night! Good luck to those of you in the TWW.
Alisia - Good luck with the next round. Sorry its not been smooth sailing with the O induction but I'm sure your FS will have it all worked out soon. My FS told me its really common to have the Clomid work one cycle and not the next.
TwoMums - Enjoy the rest of your TTC break. I hope the new year brings a :bfp: for you!
Sending you all heaps of :bluedust: I'll be keeping an eye on this thread and look forward to heaps more BFPs really soon!
-
Emmalina,
Well, I didn't ovulate, and the follicle, instead of releasing the egg, retained the egg and excess fluid has built up inside the follicle. Most just go away by themselves, mine have in the past, and take about a month or two, sometimes more, sometimes less, its really hard to say what exactly will happen. I'm not really sure if it interferes with the next cycle, that something I have to ask tomorrow at the FS appt (I was a bit upset at the news of a BFN and a cyst that I didn't ask lots of important stuff lol), and yep, its painful, but kind of like a stitch and only if i move a certain way or do certain things that put pressure on that area.
Remember though that I have PCOS, which puts me at a higher risk to cysts and OHSS, and this is the first large cyst I have had in three cycles of treatment so I wouldn't worry too much. :)
-
Hi all,
Well I wish everyone the best with their cycles.
I was getting quite optimistic as I was 13 dpo and no signs of AF Arriving. Had very sore boobs and when I took of my bra it was like red beacons. Unfortunately I have had some bleeding today, so I think AF is arrived. Very disappointed.
All well we try again next cycle......
Congratulations to Principessa76, wish you a very healthy and happy journey in your pregnancy
xxx Sue xxx
-
Principessa, big congrats on your pg. Now i have to ask you, did you really do the BFN at 15DPO and then get a BFP two days later? Because for someone still waiting for AF having got a BFN this morning at day 29, that gives me a tantalising glimmer of hope.... What brand of test were you using? I thought they were supposed to pick up HCG 7-10 DPO but yours obviously took a bit longer.
Good luck to Alisia and Sue.
Emmalina
-
Emmalina,
Wishing you all the best also. I hope it is a BFP for you in a couple of days.
xxx Sue xxx
-
Hi Emmalina,
Yep, its true - BFN at 15DPO and BFP at 17DPO. I was expecting AF on 15DPO based on my previous Clomid cycle.
At 15DPO I tested using Pregnow with FMU. Pregnow are supposed to be 10miu - about the most sensitive you can get. Then at 17DPO I tested using First Response Early Pregnancy Test. The BFP at 17DPO was quite dark - if I'd used the First Response at 15DPO I think I could possibly have gotten a very faint BFP (even though its supposed to be less sensitive than the Pregnow).
As long as AF doesn't show there's hope - even if you have cramps and other AF symptoms. (I was sure AF was coming) :SAAF:
Don't give up! I've got my :crossfingers: for you! :bluedust:
-
Hi all,
I haven't posted in here for a while, but got a BFP today - due to a successful cycle of clomid & metformin. Strangely my endocrinologist told me to stop taking the metformin immediately and my FS said to keep taking it in the 1st trimester. Amazing that there can be such difference in opinions about metformin STILL. What a headache!
Good luck on your clomid and/or metformin journey - I hope you get a BFP real soon!
-
Congratulations Principessa and Miss Belinda!!!!
13DPO here, faint faint faint second line on Discover but nothing on Crystal Clear using same "sample" so think probably just an evap. Hate this waiting!!!
-
Good luck muggins - hope it turns into a great big dark line!
I forgot to update in here, as my blood test came back negative. My GP thinks I either had a faulty test or got a false positive because of the different medications I'm on. So that was disappointing, then AF turned up 2 days after that. So we are going to try the clomid/met combination again this month, then probably have a break over Christmas if it doesn't work.
-
Hi
I have been in the TTC buddies forum but I saw this thread and thought I would pop on if thats ok - my story is I used to have 28-30 day cycles - in August it chagnes to 35 days and has stayed that way hubby & started TTC in Sept - I went to the GP because being 35 and my cycle changing like that just had me a bit curious - I got my blood results back yesterday and they showed I had not ovulated and all my hormones were a bit crazy - I cant remember which one but it is but it should be between 1-20 and mine was at 20 (apparently it can be affected by stress) the GP asked had I been stressed and I have just had the most stressful month dealing with horrible family stuff (I wont get into with you all)
Anyway I have do have the bloods done again 21 days after my next period - if it comes back again I have not ovulated the GP will refer me to a gyno.
I was pretty upset yesterday and asked a few questions (my gp is lovely) but I guess I am wondering if anyone here has had the same problem and if my next test comes back negative what is usually the next step if they do send you to a gyno?
If anyone can share experiences or info it would be greatly appreciated as I am scared and confused - DH is being very supportive and telling me not to worry.
-
Hello everyone,
Would you mind if i join in here? I am on my second cycle of clomid. Last cycle i had side effects for the whole month (nausea and headaches) but so far this month im feeling great. Only CD10 tho, so hopefully its doing something. :crossfingers:
Can anyone tell me what the difference is between clomid and metformin?? I had never heard of metformin until i read some of this thread...
I look forward to speaking to you all and sharing this crazy journey with you! :grouphug:
-
Just popping in to answer a question, don't really belong here any more.
Metformin is a drug used to treat PCOS, it helps to reduce the insulin resistance that results in PCOS. For some women, merely taking metformin is enough to fix up a wonky cycle and get ovulation happening.
Clomid is the lext line of attack in PCOS - it attempts to force the body to ovulate by other means.
I guess both are put together because the majority of women on clomid have PCOS, but through the time I've spent watching and participating in this thread, I've encountered many, many women who have used clomid to correct an ovulation problem that do not have PCOS.
Wandering away again now...
