Nope. Parental leave is only based on the mothers income. But you need to have been working for a period of time. Check the website for how long.

Thanks FabFiona!
Unfortunately I still won't qualify:( including super I would just Evers the 150k a year - although I will satisfy how long you need to have been working. I went back to work when DS was 8 months old.
Oh well it was a nice thought, it wouldn't be such a big deal with one - but two it could have made a big difference.

if it's standard employer super and doesn't appear on your tax return, then it shouldn't impact your entitlement. you may get ppl for one baby, but no bby bonus for the other
It's only super above the minimum 9 % that counts towards the 150k.
I know this was an old thread, and most of the posts made when PPL was new.... but it seems just as confusing now! Well, the who actually pays it to the parent part anyway.
I've had 2 staff have babies in since after July last year, when it was no longer an option, that govt pays it to employer, employer pays to employee. However even though the first girl was told this, and it was all set up as such, our employer never had to pay one thing - all her payments came from centrelink.....as happened with the other staff member who had her baby in November last year.
Totally confusing for the employer who is patiently waiting to start paying and nothing happens!
