    Left over BBQ chicken

Just wondering how long the "shelf life" of a store bought BBQ chicken is?

    Anyone know?

    Left over BBQ chicken

Not sure. I will eat it the next day and that's it.

I tend to agree, we have it the next day and then that is it.
Chicken is the food i trust the least when it comes to left overs.

That's what I usually do as well, but then it got me thinking was I throwing away food that was perfectly fine?

And then I noticed that coles are now selling shredded BBQ chicken by the kilo, which got me thinking how long would it last for!

I have previously used it up to 3-4 days after buying. I buy one and section and refrigerate straight away on a monday and DH uses it for lunches for the rest of the week. I haven't eaten "leftovers" while pregnant but will again after.

I wish they'd put an expiry date on it

I wonder about this too. I'm sure it would be fine 3-4 days afterwards (maybe longer) but somehow unless it's eaten the next day, the appeal has worn off and I know that's ridiculous. I think it would be different if I chopped it up and put it in a tupperware container.

What I tend to do if I don't like the idea of eating it on a sandwich is make something from it - chicken/leek quiche that requires cooked chicken OR make a chicken stock.
