Hi Ladies,
I have the silliest of ?? and i hope you guys don't mind me asking. I haven't had my TR yet, going for my first appt at end of the mth, but i am really concerned about my age and if i am doing the right thing about having TR done. I have just turned 37 (june) and one of my friends couldn't stop ear bashing me about how old i am and that i was making a huge mistake for wanting another baby. DH and i so want to have another baby, and think that age isn't a factor, well at least to us anyways. So is there anyone here is around my age that had the same thoughts/concerns about the age issue?
Cheers
kiya

Kiya - honey tell your friend to go chew her boot! My mum had me at 37 and I have a very close bond with her. If your wanting another baby and your hubby is too, then go for it. Your never to old to be a mum...god there are women out there having babies in their 60's and your friend is worried about you being almost 40...ba humbug to her. In the end you are the one who has to be pleased (and hubby of course) not her. Oh and can you let us know how you go....we love to hear good news and we'll support you.
-
hi kiya,
i'm 32 years old and we are doing ivf to have another one. I wouldn't worry about your age if you and hubby want another go for it.
I'll tell you something my aunty was 43 years old when she had her 4th daughter, my cousin is 4 days older then my oldest son.
goodluck :D:D:D:D

Kiya.... I agree tell your friend to go blow chunks. Your only as old as you feel and most people these days dont start there families till there 30. Go for it and i wish you and hubby all the best. Where do you live??
Maz i agree.I'll be having another c/s so best to have it done in one hit if they will do it again.
Storm, hehe 1 more will even things out...so when will you be thinking of trying again???
-
maz, i know the feeling of back pain... but i agree with storm, it's a bit rough and you have to remember that the tubes supply blood to your ovaries and your ovaries supply hormomes to you body- there is another new device called a marina. it is placed in the uterus. ask about and for jed- you have been through heaps- its only two days for him and doctors don't care about size- they have seen them before.
storm, hey how are you?
kiya- my sister had clamps and then a reversal last year and just gave birth to a healthly baby boy- she is 37 also. the choice really depends on you and how the ligation was done.
ray, where are you having your ivf done?
fcnessi, hi i had my reversal done on dec 06 by dr cooper to. he does only laproscopic which is good in some ways for quicker recovery. it cost me $8k. yeh i didn't have the money, and have had 1 ectopic but i am still okay. i am a christian so i believe that God is the author and finisher of all life. once again i think it really depends on how you ligation was done- where it was done along the tube and whether it was done laproscopically or in a c/section. each dr will tell you different things- it pays to do some of your own research and understand what they did.
em, how is the preparation going for ivf? i saw that you haven't had af yet? is that still right? i have to get checked out this week to. i haven't had af yet either and last month i only had spotting.
maz, couldn't see Mr Squiggley

I agree....You are only as old as you feel. I certainly don;t feel like i am 37. The only time i think i feel my age is when my 16yr son comes to visit on school holidays. He goes to a private school back in Brisbane. I also have the clamps, and so can't wait to have them off even for the first little while i can have my body back to normal and no more heavy clotty mp's. My mother had my brother when she was 40 and i was only 16 going on 17. He is now 20 and a great kid, so you are all right it doesn't matter how old you are, just as long as we are happy and we are and so can't wait to be doing the horizontal dancing to make the baby...LOL
Another silly ??? How soon did you start trying and if you were lucky how soon after having the reversal did you have your first bub? I guess i am so anxious to start trying as soon as i can after the reversal
cheers
kiya

hi luvchildren,
i'm having ivf in ballarat which is about 1 hour out of geelong. We have our apppointment to see the nurse co-ordinator on the 16th of july.
Maz i had the marina put in had every side effect . No period, hot flushes, nasuea, headaches everyday, i had symptoms of early menopause. I had it in for 1 year couldn't stand it anymore had it taken out, thats why i had the clamps put on.
Hope everyone has a great day, school holidays:D

Hi everyone,
Thank you all for your advice. Sorry I haven't been around for a few days. I just became an aunty to a beautiful little girl. SCARLET. The first girl in the family. Boy was that tough. A great feeling as she is just so precious, but I was dying on the inside.
For those of you that did have it done in a public hospital whether here in sydney or interstate, can I ask for more info. (Please)
How did you get the ball rolling?? What were the steps taken to get to the hospital and onto the waiting list??
Mumof5 I did contact Dr Cooper's rooms and they told me you were one of the lucky ones. It was only done as a trial and only 6 woment were being done at RPA each year. Of course the list to have it done this way is as long as your arm, so they aren't taking anymore. Good luck by the way with your journey too darl...
Many Thanks

kiya, thats good that you only had the clips. that will mean usually it was done in the isthmus area. (middle area). i haven't had a bub yet. I don't give up. I just wait patiently on God to decide if it's right.
ray, yeh the marina is new and its like a iud that lasts for five years. i agree with implanon i had horrible side affects from it. hope you and mumof 5 succeed on your ivf
em, glad you are researching it
maz, yeh 1 more week here and the children are back at school. but that means i only have 3 more weeks holidays- oh no- enjoying the time off- painting and spring cleaning in july!!!

isnt it funny how so many people are naming their kids (girls im talking about now) after flowers or natural wonders?
Ive now in the last week come accross the following - Ruby - Garnet - Lilac - Lilly and now Scarlet...I love them all but scared that they are becoming to common. I hope to hell the name Jed and i have choosen stays off key for some.
-
Maz,
It's funny that you mentioned the names Lily and Ruby for my little niece, (My little peanut) Lily was the second choice for her and nearly was, as a last minute change. Ruby is a nickname already given to Scarlet from my mother.
hahahaha
Congrats on your pregnancy too, all the best for you.
Hopefully I can find the info I need, go on a waiting list and get this done. Making ALL my dreams come true....

Hi again everyone.
It took me a while, but I got there.
I just found out via research on the net that The Royal Hospital for Women here in Sydney does reversals. All I need is a referral from my GP or gyno.
My next day off is Friday, so of course it's off to my GP.
Finally I feel like I am getting somewhere....
