We're the same, DH and I tell each other I love you several times a day and now we do the same with DS. I think it's really important, not only because of what 'could' happen, but it also makes it easier to keep the trivial issues of day to day life in perspective iykwim? I sincerely hope that your DH's sense about his life is as far off as my dad's has been xoxox:
Sorry I haven't been on for a few days TD. I agree with what has been said so far. I think you need to tie your mind and body a bit closer before being able to really meditate perhaps as well as you might like, and would recommend something like Tai Chi or yoga. If you don't like one thing, try another, but do try them with an open mind.
The first few times I have done meditations at my monthly angels group I haven't felt that I did very well. But the last time, I seemed to get more into it (and am sure that someone squeezed my cheekbones like they were holding my face and pushed a smile onto me). There are many different types of meditations, maybe we can start another thread (if there isn't one already) about how different people on bb meditate, whether guided or not, etc. Focusing on a candle flame as Sopdet suggested is a good way to start, and this is how children are sometimes taught how to start their meditation. And colouring in! Both are simple, but can be very effective.
The thought or 'presentation' of death usually resembles a change, but not usually death itself. As others have said, it may be the change from your current self to operating on a different plane.
