hun i had minimal spotting after having it done, more when i had my first AF, im sure its going to be worth it when it settles it just getting to that point!! maybe get it in after you get back!
Olive - 6 weeks. I wouldn't have hung out for 6 months! 6 weeks of spotting was long enough for me.
But it seems to agree with me, haven't had any issues since.
RR - I'd definitely give it a go. Although I whinged about the 6 weeks of spotting etc in the big picture, it was nothing. Like I said, I don't even know its there anymore. If it doesn't agree with you, you can have it taken out. I had no cramping or pain etc, just the spotting. I think it's just one of those things, it seems to work well for some, not for others. But you won't know unless you try it.
before i had the mirena in i was bleeding for 3 months straight. after i had it in i bled for a month but i had a infection of the womb. (i had a d&c, cam and biopsy taken). it settled down pretty much after the 1st month or so for me. it was great iv got to admit (got it out to ttc). id say give it another couple of weeks and if it hasn't stopped speak to your gynae.
its not fun at all. xox
I've had mine in for 3 years - i'm booked in to get it out next week.
All i have to say to those thinking about getting it or who have just got - keep an eye on your weight, sex drive and energy levels.
1. i have put on about 10kg's in 3 years.
2. my partner used to call me a nympho - now i don't feel like having sex at all :shakehead:
3. i struggle to exercise, i have no drive to get out and just run like i used too
i thought it was because i had moved towns and had started a new life, i'm really starting to think i was wrong and it's now going to be so hard to go back to the way i was.
i'm not blaming the merina for all of it but i'm pretty sure it was part of the problem.
i also went on anti-depressants for about 1 yr - it is soooo hard to get off them!!!! i never realized until i had to do it myself.
I'm now running everyday and eating really well eg salads and fish but i'm not loosing the weight as quickly as i want to.
hopefully i can make a post a few weeks or a month after getting and out and say i'm all good and happy again.
wish me luck xx:dance:
