Seriously need to know what to do?!?!

Ok so I went to a friends who was selling her MCNs we tried 2 different brands on for dd2 who is 2, one O/N cushie tushie and 1 day time cnt remember the name OMG they were SO BIG! she couldn't walk with them on?!?! Are they all that chunky?!?! She cried and wanted it off?!!!! How does this affect walking ability? They cnt all be that bad yeah? I told dh and he was so upset, were really looking forward to this cloth journey!!!

itti bittis are much slimmer. there are other compact nappies too.

Do you compromise with absorbency?? Thanks for replying :)

i use a combo of baby beehinds, itti bittis and then a few randoms i have picked up. i don't use the itti bittis overnight, but during the day they are fine.

if you want to try them, you just have to start. my dislike of sposies is greater than any issue i have with any of my cloth nappies.

Ok, woops, the night one was a BBH and the day was a CGR.

I TRULY dislike sposies!! Really I do!!!!! With DD2 she already has feet and knee issues I'm worried it will make it worse?!?! And how come some brands go frm birth to toddler where as some it's a sml/med/lrg case? Maybe this is the way I need to go with such small children?? Also did NOT like the mink.. Really bulky

night nappies are usually pretty bulky. don't know what CGRs are like, never heard of them til now.

I have BBH nights. They're bulky, but overnight they don't even come close to leaking. And our wee poppet has them on for over 12 hours, and is a hardcore wetter.

Trim nappies... ittis are pretty trim. Bambootys (small fit) BBH petite all in twos. I find Bonnibuns quite trim, similar fit to CGRs, but a little bit firmer around the belly. The Genesa Forge side snaps are pretty trim too. Using pockets can be a good way to stay trim as you get to vary what's stuffed in there.

I find you get a better fit with sized nappies, but if $$$ are an issue, then OSFM naps are a good choice. GreenKids, Bonnibuns, Bubblebubs Candies, BBH Multifits are options you can use.

We have no issues with cloth because we just don't know any other way. We've used them right from the start. I cannot handle the thought of poo sitting in my bin. That's gross. Instead, poo gets dumped into the toilet, where it belongs, within 10 minutes of me changing it.

I agree with everything Audax said. We also use BBH nights and never have a leak and DD is in them for up to 14 hours on a big sleep night. I regularly use BBH Multifits on my 15 month old DD and she is quite petite. We couldn't use them prior to 6 months though, too bulky. I am also grossed out by the poo sposies, I <3 how liners just go down the loo and the nappies are basically clean.

I really like the look of the greenkids ones, they look trimmer around the crutch part and I like the idea of stuffing the pads inside rather than snaps but also like the look of the Velcro... Am I on the right track???? They have a fold dwn option for newborns. Hrmmmm information OVERLOAD!!!!! (I like the patterns too lol)

So should I order one? What if it's the same problem? Maybe I'm just use to no bulk and same with DD. perhaps starting a new born on them won't b an issue as we will be use to it but maybe it will push dd2 into toilet training??? The GK are cheap too?! $23! Anyone make there own inserts?

i find greenkids to be quite wide in the crotch, i got mine second hand so not sure if they are the same as the ones they sell now.

if you are concerned about nappies being big on your 2 year old, osfm nappies are definitely gonna be too big on a newborn/young bub. i prefer sized nappies for this exact reason.

how big is your dd now? itti bitti have a few clearance nappies on sale including a pink medium itti bitti snap in one for $18. fits 6.5kg - 12kg

the cloth nappy hunt is also on at the moment with many of the nappy companies having sales, and you get a discount if you register with the cloth napy hunt.

Oh bummer!!! Maybe I should forget doing dd2 as she is use to the trim sposie? She is 26mths and 11kg, she is extremely tiny, I'm extremely petite as well, she got sized for shoes yesterday and is a size 5!!!! Teeny tiny!!! I suppose a night nappy would be a good way to at least introduce them to her and by the time were TT we culd just have her on those anyway? I'll look at the itti bitti. It seems so much more expensive going size nappies??? But I agree, a teeny NB is going to be too small for one....

Anyone make there own inserts?

Yep I just use my homemade prefolds, which were upcycled from a local laundry service's old cotton towels, so no cost. I used them on DD until she was about 8 weeks old, then we stuffed them in the GKs. She was a big baby though, you might have a different experience.

I wouldn't use night nappies by day. Waaaay too bulky. For a cute, trim easy fitting day nappy, check out Genesa Forge sid snappers. They're sized, but the weight ranges are really broad. The smalls fit DD birth-5months (about 7kg, and longer than any other smalls fit) and the mediums look like they'll fit forever. The inserts in them are quite narrow, and the waterproof layer is fleece, so they're soft and squishy and gorgeous, and might feel nicer for your DD2.

I mostly use bamboo flats, as I need to be able to get them dry on a balcony clothes line. I got some seconds from Bamboonies and then I bought some second hand which were unused.

I use BBH covers on them and snappis.

I also have some OSFM Hemp BBH nappies and some Magicalls.

I got microfleece liners and cloth wipes from an eBay shop called Beautbots.

For newborn we also use bamboo flats with a snappi and cover. They are awesome because you can make them fit to the baby.
