Cookiemonster - I had Snugglers last week & he leaked through every one. The night I had to completely change him & his bed 3 times pushed me WAY over the edge!!
I used to like VIPs by the same people, but can't get them here.

Yup I agree with Aldi wipes, they're great.
While we used Huggies newborn nappies they aren't perfect. They all left pinch marks around my newborn's thighs :( If I didn't alternate with cloth I'm sure my poor babies would have ended up very uncomfortable... and my babies all had skinny legs!!! I would hate to think what they do to chubby babys' legs :(
I only use nappies at night time durign the day its nappy pants.
but they cost like $20 for like 15 i think.
Being a cloth convert I can't say of recent experiences BUT I found huggies & snugglers (yes made by the same mob) are crapola. I was having the same issues over 12 months ago, they just seem to get "cheaper & cheaper" but the price stays the same.
Try emailing them if you get no where by phone. I have had many many boxes of each replaced over the years I used sposies.
I too was an Aldi Fan. Also for their pull ups.
Its a pitty you can mail order with Aldi.
Aldi nappies have been nothing but trouble for us...Coles Loves Baby ones are by far the best. I have my lasy days and sposies are always on hand instead of cloth!
Aldi ones leak, are not high enough and are not absorbant. Were fine on DD1 til about 12 months old....have never been any good on DD2 ever!
Arrrrgg at not having an Aldi!!!! It's almost worth the 2 hour drive to go and get some!!! When you say the coles ones are good do you mean the "you'll love coles" brand or the cheaper "smart buy" coles ones? I'll go and get some now.
Glad you agree with me that huggies are crap, I'm so ****ed off with off for them just wait til I get through to the customer (so called) "care line".!!!!!
Kiki...The coles loves baby ones....not their other stupid ones
I'm sure Aldi nappies don't fit every baby body type... but if anything they seem to be the highest fitting of all the sposies I've tried... plus never had a leak... but like I said: my babies are skinny specimens LOL who don't have huge quantities of liquid compared to other babies (mine are more grazers... could never fit more than 180 ml at a time of expressed milk... bit like me: small stomach capacity)... this may account for them (Aldi) never leaking.
Huggies used to be good when DD was a baby but now they are useless. Same with Snugglers, DS just leaked right through it the other night. The best ones i have found are the Woolworths brand ones. DS never leaks and he sleeps around 12 hours a night.
When DS1 was a baby we used Huggies during the night, and Snugglers during the day cause they seemed to leak and not hold enough.
So by the sounds of it they've changed dramatically since 4 1/2yrs. Wow.
At the moment, we started with Huggies newborn ones and they were ok, but I'm really liking the babylove ones. They're really really good.
I wish we had Aldi here. Sounds like they've got some good stuff.
Thanks for the info.
xx
Ren, you should be fine with the newborn huggies especially if you are only going to use them for a couple of weeks. I think all babies leak through any nappy at some stage.
For us, I've worked out the best way to fasten the nappy to reduce leakage as DS has chicken legs LOL...
Ren we used huggies new born for first two weeks as was given a box from my mum then got recommended by many people to use aldi ones and honestly i find them better than the huggies they seem to fit better and we use ther wipes aswell they are great ad cheap. There nappy sacks smell fantastic too and are cheap only thing is they dont stock them all the time.
I like Babylove during the day and use Huggies at night. Although DH did the last nappy change a couple of nights ago and I was shocked that he used the Babylove ones! But no leakage thank goodness.
Laranna - chicken legs here too!

Thanks CookieMonster, Laranna & Abb34! I think i'll buy a box of huggies newborn (seeing as like you said, bubs will be changed frequently in those first few wks!)
and then look around for another brand of newborn also....
I went to ALDI this arvo and they didn't have the newborn ones? They only had crawler (4kg-9kg) packs?? Is that the smallest size of ALDI?
Renstar - the newborn ones at Aldi are yellow. Be careful though cos the crawler ones are yellow as well so sometimes they are in the same box and one pack will be newborn and one pack will be crawler.... you just have to look on each pack for the word newborn. Brock is 2 months old now and we've just bought our first pack of the crawler ones (he's 5kg). I've only had two leaks with the newborn ones and I think thats pretty good considering the amount of nappies we've been through. We also have not had a nappy rash problem. I highly recommend them. We've tried the Safeway ones, Huggies & Coles ones (only because we were given them, if we hadn't it would've been 100% Aldi) and found Aldi ones better. They're made in Germany so quality control would be top notch. They recently started to do Aussie prints on them so the last couple of lots I've got have had Koalas and kangaroos etc on them. The latest crawler ones have a wombat's face on the front and his bum on the back, very cute.
I also can recommend the bags as being the best but haven't been able to find any since our first pack ran out so for now have to use the $2 store ones. My search in every Aldi store continues for nappy bags..... I'm a woman obsessed.
Thanks Satya! Great feedback. I'm gonna buy a pack (or two) of the Newborn Aldies. I will take your advice and look through the crawler packs to find the newborn ones lol they all looked the same to me! they had every size but newborn! however tomorrow i'll take a better look!
Might buy some Aldi wipes too :) May aswell stock up now....
I totally agree Satya... they are a great product. Some of them are made in Belgium too... I don't know where Huggies make their nappies but on the whole I find European products satisfy me more than, say, Asian (where I suspect Higgies are made... i could be wrong) Hold on I have a box somewhere, with baby clothes in it.... just checked: Huggies are made in Australia... well, there you go! We'd better get our act together! LOL (Now I'm feeling guilty about my carbon miles...)
