Your DD is a trooper! I hope you all have a peaceful night, and that DD recovers well
So relieved that it all went well, it is a horrible time while little ones are having surgery and us parents remain in limbo land.
You and your DH are amazing to still be standing after all of this, that is where Heidi gets her fighting spirit from.
Have a good rest tonight.
well done hon, thats another big hurdle she's leapt over!
Moving ahead and going home!!
So glad it went well hun, what an amazing little girl you have there. xox I'm sure her hair will grow back nice and fast.
Wow Infinity she has done amazingly well! You must all be shattered though, it is so much to go through
Hoping for a very calm wind down in the home strait.... through SCN and home where she belongs at last.
:leap:
So pleased to hear that all went well :D You and Heidi are both superstars!!! I hope time speeds up for you as she heads down the final stretch to coming home
That is just fabulous news Infinity! She's on the home stretch now all right!
Glad to hear all went well.
Heidi certainly is a little trooper..
Take care xxxx
Wonderful news! So pleased it went well. Your daughter is a trooper. She's entitled to be a bit cranky too ;)
Infinity hun please give yourself a break if & when you can. I know the wired feeling & not feeling you can wind down but it is worth it if you can. You really deserve a break in between all your responsibilities.
Sending lots of love xx
I'm so glad it all went well! What a trooper. I'd be a bit cranky too with everything she's been through. Hopefully not too long until she is home. What a great feeling that will be!!
Glad to hear it's all gone well for her, cranky is good in a round a bout kind of way, it means she is alert.
What an amazing little girl Miss Heidi is :) :cheer:
It really shows how much strength she has gained over the many months and I am certain it's due to her Mummy's Milk :) I am just thrilled to hear how well she has bounced back from the surgery. I hope the rest of her recovery continues smoothly and she is going to be that much closer to those dooors out of the SCN and home very very soon.
You have all been through some very difficult lows and some truely amazing highs, I will never forget reading about your first cuddles, BF's and putting her in her own clothes.
Take care  xxoo
Hi all
DDs post-op recovery is going really well. Today she has ceased her antibiotics & morphiene and apparently overnight she has been farting like a trooper LOL which is a great sign the gut has woken up again. Apparently if the bowel is handled is shuts down, so they need to give it time for the normal peristalsis to recommence. They can hear lots of bowel sounds too. She has re-started feeds this afternoon - a whole 15mls! But its really just to test that everything is functioning ok and if so they'll start to grade her up to full feeds over the next 2-3 days. Poor little chicken was getting very hungry. I alsmot got her back on EBM but the surgeon came in and over-ruled the paed this morning. She wants her to establish full feeds again on the elemental formula she was having prior to surgery and then start re-introducing breast milk. I'm disappointed but not surprised. And I just don't have the energy to weigh into a debate with them - I'll let them fight it out at their level. Realistically she'll be breastfeeding & on EBM again in the next week so why should I push it just for the sake of it now? The surgeon's reasoning has sound logic to it so its not like they're feeding me BS, its just hard when she's not having my EBM. More of an emotional thing for me I think.
Typically, the central line they put in her scalp post-op tissued so they removed that and got another one in her left arm on Friday. Fingers crossed that holds for the next few days as she needs to stay on IV nutrition until she's back on full feeds. Nothing like a trip back to NICU to remind you just how 'intensive' it all really is.
Thanks all for your love & support xx
What an amazing girl you have Infinity! Awesome to hear it is all going so well
Oh she really is amazing
Oh she's going great guns!! She's going to be home with you and exclusively BFing before you know it
What great news that she is recovering so well hun  You are both doing a fantastic job of fighting and being strong. I am so glad that you are one big step closer to having her out of NICU.
What an amazing little girl you have! Wooooo Hooo for farts!!!! That is wonderful news
She is really showing how strong she has grown over these months and I hope the wait to BF again is short and you will be enjoying that lovely special bond together :loveshower:
A friend had just explained that to me the other days after her bowel was nicked during an E C/S, she had to wait for it to "wake up" again before she was able to eat.
Take care and we are so proud of all of you, you have all gone through so much  :comfort: xxoo
