I think I have spent about 4000 including maternity stuff/vitamins/etc
It would have been a lot more but mum bought me a P&T pram and someone gave us a cot.
[[Add on 2000 for out of pocket ob expenses
and 16000 for a car change.]]
Ouch. Very expensive baby.

With our first baby we spent about $1600 and we found after a little while we had lots of superfluous "stuff" that we didn't need. She was born in a public hospital so my antenatal care and birth cost nothing - that was just on baby things.
But no one was going to tell me that before she was born - I was convinced we needed all of it.
We also managed to spend a fair whack again when #2 came. Because he was a different sex, we bought all new clothes, bedding and other things that had to be in "boy" colours even though we already had them for our girl.
Babies are a money pit :wall::lol:

Expenses for number 2 so far -

New nappy bag (old one fell apart) about $100
We're getting a capsule for this bub too but will either hire or borrow one.

We spent about $3600 on the major nursery stuff. It was about $4000 but I managed to get them to come down since we bought it all at once on a layby. That was for the pram, cot, cot mattress, change table, linen, play stuff, bottle warmer, bottle steriliser, Nappy bin, baby monitor etc. We got most of his clothes from the baby shower and a Baby Bjorn baby carrier (which was a lovely gift cause I wanted one but couldn't really afford it). Since I got the layby out I have bought a few things like baby thermometer, some other clothes. I have been buying your typical baby care stuff like nappies and soap etc when I go shopping over the last few months so that its not just one big expense.
