Hi
I have an 11 month old and have new bub in 8 weeks.
I had the strider dlx, so sold it on e bay and after heaps of research gone for the bj city select.
I have the main pram, 2nd seat, car seat adapter, two raincovers ( these are separate for each seat) and a suncover, all of which I got from America, worked out WAY cheaper even with $120 for delivery. Obviously the AUD is almost $for$ with the American $ so a good time to buy.
I also have brought the safe n sound unity car seat to go on when bubs is small, this was a lifesaver with dd (had a quinny in the uk) and ds2 (strider car seat).
I was toying with the bassinet but having used the seat, it lays flat and IMO will be fine for hubs although I will have my pram padded insert in to make the seat a bit smaller and of course i have the car seat anyway.
Width - The wheels easily fit down all checkouts I've been through and is heaps smaller than my strider dlx.
Steering - Easy to steer can steer with one hand
Great huge basket.
Combinations - I like this pram as I didn't want my 11 month old to feel 'underneath' like so many of the doubles are.
So being able to have him at the front facing out is a big plus, he loves the shops and watching everything, I can then have the car seat or buns facing me at the top.
Also of course as they both get older they can face each other which I think is great, especially for mine as they will be so close in age.
Size/weight/folding- so easy to food although I take the seat off each time ( very easy) , i suppose it could be a little on the heavy side but not compared to my dlx so I'm happy, I got it in the back of the echo when hubby needed the big car.
I also walk dd to school each day at the mo and it's a dream to push, the hood is great as it come over quite a way so great in the morning sun.
Well I think I've listed enough :) but if anyone has any questions please ask.
Shar x
Ps I always have 2 prams :) so for the school walk each day (4km) plus my own extra walking for exercise I snapped up a valco ion for 2 in the sales, my unity car seat fits on this aswell, haven't got it out the box yet but may do this weekend, exciting :)
I looooooooove the baby jogger prams! I have the city mini but have also played with the select! Both are so awesome to push and fit through all doorways/checkouts etc! So many friends have said they wish they'd bought a narrower pram!
HTH
Another huge Baby Jogger fan here! We have the City Elite and it's a dream pram!!! I have been eyeing off the Select for when we have another baby though as I like that we could have both a seat and capsule attached. The Elite has the capsule attachment but you can't use that and a toddler seat.
For those of you who have the Select, how does it handle exercising? We do a lot of walking (fast paced exercising) and my Elite is brilliant, it's also brilliant of rough terrain. How does the Select cope? Is it more for shopping and casual strolls?
As I mentioned above I walk 4 km to school each day ( normally pwerwalking coz im late :) ) also use it for my own powerwalking sessions up to 8-9 km.
I would say it seems a little 'hard' when on rougher terrain but it does have the suspension maybe just what it feels like for me through the handle? Bubs doesn't ever moan :)
I saw the CS out this morning, was the first time I've seen one in action - it had the capsule and a little bubba and then the toddler in the front facing forwards. It looked awesome! I liked that the capsule was quite high up. I noticed the pram and then I was like "Oh it's the CS - cool!" - also made a point of showing it to DH subtley so that the woman pushing it didn't notice me pointing them out ha ha. We have a BJ city mini and are so happy with it. Would consider the CS when we have #2, depending on the age gap...
Also I bought our CS online, probably from the same place as you Shar (country moose kids??) so would do that again if AUD is still strong.
I have one on layby - i cant wait to get it! I chose the Ruby Red colour although i do really love the Diamond colour too.
Did you know they are bringing it out in Amethyst!!
woohoo you will not regret!
The purple is cool!! I read somewhere they weren't releasing it in Aus. If they did I'd be tempted to buy new covers for mine!!
Has anyone used it for twins? This is the main pram we are looking at for when the twins arrive as the other ones we have been shown are too wide for our shops checkouts (we measured), too bulky, or have one child stuck behind the other one which we can see causing fights as they get older. We put the toddler (14 kg) in it and he looked quite comfy I must say.
The sales lady were trying to talk us out of it for the strider instead because unless you get the bassinet or capsule then the CS is not recommended for newborns because they dont lie completely flat? If anyone has used it for twins we would love to hear from you :D Thanks
I bailed up a random woman in the park the other day and although she only had one baby, she just had the newborn in the seat reclined as far as it went. Bubs looked very cosy as she just had one of those cushions that supported the baby. It looked good enough to me that we are definitely not buying the bassinet.
xox
How is the weight of this pram? I went to the baby shop and pushed it around and nearly died because it felt so heavy compared to my bugaboo..........now I am leaning back towards the donkey but I don't think it's even an option because it might not be released by the time we need it. Arrrrgghhhh!!
Yay i picked my layby up! Well, just the pram, i left the second seat and bassinet on layby. Its not needed until july anyway.
So, after pushing it around the streets and shops for a few days, id like to give you all a mini review!
I have been taking the seat off the frame to put it in the boot. Being pregnant, i want to be lifting the least amount of weight i can. I havent found this to be annoying or time consuming, probably easier beacause its lighter.
Puting it together agsin is a breeze. Once you get used to lining the seat up, you put it together in seconds.
I find it easy to push and manouver around corners and in the isles at the supermarket. I havent had a problem getting through the checkouts or through regular sized doorways. This includes shops and houses.
It is a heavier pram but this just makes me feel confident that it will be sturdy enough to support 2 children. However, i dont find it too heavy that its uncomfortable or cause me any discomfort.
I dont recommend this pram for uneven surfaces as the suspension isnt the greatest and can cause the child to bump around alot eg- walking accross the school oval today.
Overall i am stoked with my purchase and very happy i chose it over the strider for a few reasons.
If you have any q's for me - ask away!!!
Over the last week I have had more than 6 people say to me oooh I love your pram! Total strangers!

I too purchased all my BJ accessories from the US - so much cheaper. I almost purchased the pram from overseas as well, but was concerned about the warranty issue.
i've got the city select too sarah. it was super easy to put together and I have practised taking it apart and putting it in the boot, soo easy :) we are just hiring a safe n sound unity capsule to use as car seat/pram seat, then will change over to the seat that came with the pram when this bub is big enough....have wheeled it around with DD sitting in the front facing out, and it didn't seem like it wanted to tip or anything either. my only concern is that DD may be too tall for her seat soon - but she is 3 and tall. they also have super cute pram liners which i am going to buy :)
thank you all for your replies!! DF has most of march off work boss feels the need for bali:rolleyes:so i could just be going and checking some out then! (bit of luck he will like it and just buy it for me, wishfull, very wishfull!) im not a big fan of the baby capsues, weve got a spare reversible car seat, and i like to use a baby carrier for the first month or 2, leaning towards just getting the pram and seccond seat, dd just turned one so will get alot of use out of them!
another question, i assume it has a rain cover, but is it good for both seats or do they each have a seperate one? the weather isnt always in my favour when i need iit to be!
When we asked the sales assistant, we were told that each seat has its own rain/sun covers
